This week on Rope Droppin' we continue to make our way through Fantasyland. We hit the central hub and take a ride on Prince Charming's Regal Carousel before getting sprinkled with pixie dust to fly to Neverland on Peter Pan's Flight. We wrap up with a frantic Donald and classic Disney films in some 4D theater fun at Mickey's PhilharMagic.
Dating back to the very first opening of the very first park, this week we talk about Peter Pan's Flight! From the early development - barely a year before the Disneyland ribbon cutting - to the scenes that make us feel like we're flying, this ride has a long and storied history. And despite being open for 65 years, still has one of the longest queues in the park! Hear about all this, and Will's growing beef with Walt, on this weeks Slice of Disney!
We finally made it to this amazing attraction! It has the longest line EVER and is an amazing kid ride that all ages enjoy! From the 1953 movie by Mr. Walt Disney himself, this attraction is beloved by all. Make sure to share the podcast with your friends and/or family! http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Join John B. deHaas and myself as we head to Disneyland to ride Peter Pan's Flight! Recorded on August 22, 2019. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we visit Disneyland to ride one of the most iconic Fantasyland dark rides of all time, Peter Pan’s Flight! The Disneyland website describes this attraction by saying, “Soar over London aboard an enchanted pirate ship to Never Land with the boy who wouldn’t grow up.” There are no age or height requirements for this attraction and the thrill level describes it as a Slow Ride that is Dark, Loud and has small drops. Before we get sprinkled with Pixie Dust, here are 5 fast facts about Peter Pan’s Flight. 1. Peter Pan’s Flight opened at Disneyland on the park’s opening day, July 17, 1955. 2. Originally the attraction was meant to put the guests in the role of Peter Pan flying through the ride. Because of this Peter Pan didn’t appear in the original attraction at all. 3. The ride received a major overhaul in 1983 that added many new elements and finally put Peter Pan in the attraction. 4. In 2015, the attraction closed for another major refurbishment and when it reopened, the attraction feature new animatronics and special effects including new projection mapping and fiber optics. 5. The Pirate Ships guests sit in use an OmniMover system to travel through the attraction. This is the same system as the one used in Haunted Mansion but flipped allowing the pirate ships to fly through the air. Let’s head for the second star on the right and ride Peter Pan’s Flight. Along for the adventure is John B. deHaas and after the ride we’ll give you our thoughts on this attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we race off to Peter Pan’s Flight at Disneyland! This week, your hosts spend way too much time talking about Baby Yoda merch and laughing at Reddit and not near enough time trying to put sharp pointy objects into attractions for Epic Universe. However, Scottye does eventually get around to inviting guests into his Knives Land, which may have originally been planned for California Adventure before they settled on Superstar Limo. Then, Jim creates two rides in one as he creates and destroys Highlanders in an attraction that he didn't actually name in the episode but probably has something to do with a Quickening or at least Mr. Krabs. Future note: Please do not relieve yourself in the queue for Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railaway, no matter how funny you'll think it'll be posted on the internet later.
On this week's Disney News show, we'll cover the latest happenings from around the Disney company including some items that have gone missing from Walt Disney World belonging to Peter Pan's Flight and Space Mountain, a new series coming to Disney+ produced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson that will take you behind the scenes and tell stories about your favorite Disney theme park attractions, a Boeing 777 takes to the skies as the first ever "Stormtrooper Plane", and much more!

Episode 32 - Peter Pan's Flight by JC Media
What's better than Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida? Trick question: the answer is Fantasyland (which is located in Magic Kingdom). Come snob with us as we talk all things Peter Pan's Flight, Cinderella's Castle, and . . . worm cinnamon rolls?
Your Tour Guides George Falcione, Dan Hansen, Jason Thomason and Stan Solo talk about the attractions they think are overrated and why. Plus Stan hates Peter Pan's Flight, Dan hates Frozen, Jay still thinks Pooh is still pooh, a tmi nickname for George and more!
Main Entrance Cast: Talking Theme Parks, Musing over Museums, and So Much More!
Welcome, Adventurers, to Episode 4 of the Main Entrance Cast. We apologize for going dark for a while, but we took the time to retool and rework some of the things that weren't working quite right. We're back and better than ever! We do have a couple of updates: The Main Entrance Cast will now be releasing once every three weeks. In-between episodes, we'll be bringing you the daily Main Entrance Cast Thought of the Day on Amazon Alexa, Facebook, and Instagram. Keep an eye (or ear) open for the Thought of the Day to change its name and eventually find a new home on Apple Podcasts and all major Podcast providers. We're also working to bring you new Main Entrance Cast Side Doors, which will be smaller segments released between episodes that follow the adventures of you, our listeners. Thanks for your patience, now on with the show! News (4:00) In this segment, Nick and Katie talk about the newly announced Universal's Epic Universe, including thoughts about the rumored themes, offerings, and design approach to be undertaken in this new park. It's time to excited about Universal's 4th (or is it their 3rd) theme park! Feature Presentation (11:02) Our Feature Presentation offers up the age-old question, "When does something move from being Nostalgic to being Outdated". In this segment, Nick and Katie talk about several possible answers to this question. Among the examples they discuss are Disney's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Peter Pan's Flight, Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, Space Mountain, and the Carousel of Progress, as well as Universal's ET Adventure. We also venture into the world of museums, talking about the older styles of bringing information to Guests, such as dioramas. Are these forms of display still relevant in the age of information? Do attractions become outdated because they are seen as nostalgic, or is it a case of operators being unwilling to open the wallet to keep things relevant. Can comparative or alternative attractions within proximity of an experience have an influence on whether or not some thing is seen as nostalgic versus outdated? Tune in to hear our perspectives, and be sure to let us know yours at connect@mainentrancecast.com. Trivia & Wrap Up (1:19:17): Last Episode's Trivia Question: In this episode, we talked about hidden details in theme parks. Disney, in particular, uses a very special type of hidden detail to honor individuals who made significant contributions to their theme parks. In what form do these honorariums take? Last Episode's Trivia Answer: The Main Street Windows This Episode's Trivia Question: In this episode, we talked about the possibility of the Carousel of Progress moving to the Smithsonian or other museum. Turns out, there is already a piece of Disneyland prominently featured in the National Museum of American History. What is that artifact? If you think you know the answer, drop us a line at connect@mainentrancecast.com. Thanks for listening!
The gang reviews Peter Pan's Flight at Disneyland. One of the girls surprises us with a shocking review. Have a Magical Day!
When you visit Walt Disney World, especially with small kids, it's often worth knowing the family-friendly attractions that don't require a particular height to ride. In many cases, these Disney attractions are also the ones we have the fondest memories experiencing, whether it be "it's a small world", Peter Pan's Flight, Spaceship Earth, and more. In this episode, I chat with Jamie and Kristi of Hakuna Moscato Moms to discuss our favorite Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom attractions that don't feature a height requirement. Which of these Disney attractions would make your top 10 list? Which did you enjoy the most as a kid (or as a parent with kids)? This week we talk Disney's new Flex annual pass, what we'd like to see as part of a Disneyland Forever when it returns this summer and we continue our Fantasyland talks with some history about Peter Pan's Flight!
Is it a stoner comedy? Is it a crime drama? It's neither. It's the sixth in our series of unnecessary commentaries for Timothy Olyphant movies. Claire and Matt watch the very Canadian based-on-a-play movie High Life (2009), which may be a shared universe prequel to The Crazies and may be secretly sponsored by everyone's favorite antacid Pepto-Bismol. Verdict: Not as fun as the Carousel of Progress but more fun than Peter Pan's Flight. | Tags: Oh, Olyphant, Your Hair, Douchebag Hat, Why is There a Horse in the Apartment and What is that Thing on the Ceiling?, Ron Eldard Karate Chop, Cotton Candy as a Delivery Device for Heroin, Kaifer Sunderland, Suck It Up Sprinkle Tits, It's a Record Player!--To eBay I Go!, Trying to Be Tarantino, Moondog, Blame It on the Boogie/Buggie, But That Bathroom, Stage Magic, Pink Chuck Norris, Definitely a Canadian Film. | VIDEO VERSION: http://bit.ly/2vofYdD | Send feedback to hooplecast@gmail.com. I had a fantastic chat with Amanda who vacationed to Walt Disney World in September with her husband and her brother. We discussed a lot of details, especially around the free dining promotion and the Disney Dining Plan. She also gave a great review of Saratoga Springs, so we talked a lot about that lesser-known resort, which I think is really helpful. We dove into Food and Wine Festival just a little bit and Amanda shares her FastPass+ strategies. Just wait until you hear the most FastPasses she has ever gotten in one day. Get ready. Is Disney World just for kids? So many people ask, can I go as an adult (without kids) or is that weird? A lot of people think that Disney World is just for kids and Amanda's brother was one of those people. He thought that Walt Disney World was just a place for kids and he wasn't going to enjoy it, but it really is just somewhere that you can go and relax and enjoy yourself. They've truly got something for everyone. It's fantastic. Resort Review: Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Two-bedroom Villa, DVC (Disney Vacation Club) (I highly recommend Shipt or Amazon Prime Now for grocery delivery to the Disney World resorts.) Disney Springs Trip Planning Details Park Hopper: Yes Memory Maker: Yes Make sure you ask for Magic Shots! Disney Dining Plan: Yes Dining reservations: Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' in Disney Springs. Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in Hollywood Studios. Rose & Crown Dining Room in Epcot. Also, many Walt Disney World restaurants are available on Open Table. If you can't get a reservation on My Disney Experience, check Open Table! FastPass+ Strategy: This was the first time Amanda has vacationed to Hollywood studios since Toy Story Land opened, so Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers were first on her list. She was up 7:00 AM EST, 60 days out because she was staying on property. Favorite time of year in Walt Disney World: Food and Wine Festival time. The Itinerary: 9/2 - 9/8 Day 1: Animal Kingdom & Epcot Breakfast at the hotel FastPasses for Kali River Rapids, UP! A Great Bird Adventure, and Dinosaur Late lunch reservations for Yak and Yeti Epcot: Stroll around the Food and Wine Festival Day 2: Magic Kingdom FastPasses for Peter Pan's Flight, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (all before 12) 2:30 pm lunch at The Plaza Restaurant: This was Amanda's first time dining there, and she absolutely loved it. Inside The Mouse Castle: Disney News, Information and Commentary
Last week, Anthony visited Disneyland, rode the Lilly Belle, previewed Ant-Man, and finally saw Paint the Night, but who cares? Because all we want to do is talk about selfie sticks. The sometimes useful, mostly annoying camera accessories will be banned from all Disney theme parks--including DisneyQuest and the water parks at Walt Disney World--effective June 30th. And while Anthony and Tim ponder how to take pictures of themselves with their short arms, they also focus on these fascinating stories: Disneyland could be investing $1 billion in the Anaheim resort in return for the City of Anaheim extending an existing tax exemption on park ticket sales. This seems kind of a purposeless trade since Disney will probably spend that much on expected expansion projects in Tomorrowland and Hollywood Land anyway.Annual passholders have gotten a sneak preview already, but the general public will finally get a look at the newly refurbed Peter Pan's Flight at Disneyland starting July 1st. We know for certain Captain EO is making another nostalgic return to Epcot on July 19th, but could Michael Jackson's space hero also be coming to Disney Infinity 3.0? We're hearing rumors. Like a little Disney magic with you text messaging? You've got to get the new Disney GIF app for iOS. It's a super fun keyboard extension and it's free. Get it here. Is there a creative partnership pending on the horizon between Disney and gaming giant Nintendo? Once again, we're hearing rumors. In August, Pixar will have a bigger presence than in the past at the D23 Expo. For the first time, the animation studio will have an exhibit on the show floor. We're especially looking forward to the display of John Lasseter's custom Hawaiian shirts based on most of the Pixar films. Order your Expo tickets now before prices go up. It's been a busy week for Disney in the land of lawsuits. They settled out of court with filmmaker Kelly Wilson over similarities between her animated film The Snowman and the first teaser trailer for Frozen. Then, a disgruntled former member of Club 33 filed suit saying he was wrongly ousted from the club. Disney is claiming he repeatedly violated membership rules. Enjoy! www.TheMouseCastle.com

Peter Pan's Flight is a dark ride and this was recorded using an infrared camera (nightvision).
Whenever you visit a park, it's a good idea to talk with someone who's been there before. They're going to know all of the ins and outs and the dos and dont's of the park. They'll know things that only a person who's visited the park for years will know. On this week's show, our listeners call in to share their most priceless advice about their home parks. They'll talk about avoiding lines, cheaper ways to park and what rides are can't miss and what ones are worth skipping. We'll also check in with Molly who is on Spring Break at the very crowded Walt Disney World resort. We'll find out how she is dealing with 85-minute waits for Peter Pan's Flight and 45-minute waits for Spaceship Earth. We'll also go Off-Topic to talk about the rumored iPhone HD and the beat down of a Spiderman pinata. Plus, Hagrid stops by to reveal his favorite part of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Join Dave, Becky, Jeff and Kristen as they discuss Disneyland's Fantasyland and its dark rides... including Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, and more!
We're back with a completely Live Show! We haven't done one of these in 4 shows! That's a record for us, hehe... This live show takes you on Peter Pan's Flight, It's a Small World Holiday, Gadget's Go-Coaster, & Space Mountain! Please note: During the live recording of this audio last weekend, I was having a few technical difficulties with either my iRiver, or my Lapel Mic. So at sometimes there were fuzzy pee-popping noises in the left channel. I edited the worst of these out, which means at sometimes, you'll only hear audio in the right channel. Sorry about any inconvenience this may cause to you!

**HEADPHONES R Ur Friends** The Meandering Mouse returns from another EPCOT retro show and does what its known for best: Meandering throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Join me for a complete audio journey of a somewhat typical morning at Disney World. We begin at EPCOT's monorail station where we take a ride to the TTC and then hop onto the express Monorail to The Magic Kingdom. While Meandering down Main Street, we notice some charming details. Next, enjoy the transition into Tomorrowland and meet up with an old friend for a wild ride on Space Mountain. Once we make our way into Fantasyland, Peter Pan's Flight is on our must-do list before heading over for a wonderful sounding ride through The Haunted Mansion. Our morning at The Magic Kingdom comes to an end at The Frontierland Train Station. It begins to rain and Lou from Beyond Main Street just happens to be headed into the same station we're waiting at for the train. An odd coincidence for sure! To end our audio adventure, we hop back onto The Monorail for a trip around EPCOT where we finish back at the start of it all. Stick around for some wonderful audio feedback sent in by a listener.
