In today's episode of the Tranquil Awakenings Podcast, Debbie will be in conversation with Kev Bailey, a holistic healer that specialises in emotional health. Through the use of kinesiology, shamanic healing techniques and crystalline energy therapies, Kev works with each client to help them uncover what is holding them back and bring balance to their lives, whether that be through soul retrieval, entity release, or through confrontation and forgiveness. During this podcast Kev shares his journey of coming to terms with the relationship he had with his dad and how this sparked his exploration of healing modalities. Kev also shares some of his previous lives that have been explored both within this reality and other dimensions. KEY TAKEAWAYSHealing and spiritual exploration are available for individuals from all backgrounds.People come into our lives to provide us with lessons or to help us grow. Alternative healing modalities can help to release past traumas. Through shamanic techniques individuals can be taken on a journey to access and heal what is holding them back.We plan our key life lessons before we incarnate.Things that have ben programmed into our subconscious mind can have an impact on different areas of our life. BEST MOMENTS“ So my kind of life history, I got bullied at school in the UK. I went to South Africa, and I got bullied at school there. And then when we came back, my father enrolled me in an all-boys school in Plymouth and I thought I ain't gonna get bullied here, so I became the school nutter.” "I read Lorna Byrne's Angels in Your Hair, and I asked my ex-wife to go and get me it. She thought I'd fallen down the stairs and banged me head, but it had quite a profound effect on me.” "And then shamanically, I take them through a journey to go and visit these people, take their power back from them. They get to say to them whatever it is they really wanted to say” "I believe in the soul contract and that they signed up to experience whatever it is they've gone through. They've just forgotten about it and these people are actually coming in to help them to learn their lessons.”“ I had one lady come to see me and it was near enough like a scene out The Exorcist, only her head didn't spin 360. So, yeah, so it keeps me on my toes.” "When you're sat upstairs just before you're about to incarnate, and you're sitting there with your team, your guides, and your guardian angels, and you write your story, you star in your film, and you get the T-shirt.” "It may be something simple, like somebody said something to him as a child, but it's stuck in their head that they're thick or they're stupid or they're ugly or whatever it might be, and they've carried that forward into adulthood.”“ They jailed part of my soul in this other dimension apparently as punishment, and so she bought it back.” HOST BIODebbie is a seasoned therapist whose journey from being a primary school teacher to an adept therapist has been fuelled by her fascination with the intricacies of human nature. Equipped with advanced certifications in diverse modalities like hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming, mindfulness, meditation, past life regression and many more she has honed her expertise to bring about transformative change. As a full-time therapist and trainer, Debbie's driving passion is guiding others, as well as herself, towards their best selves. In this thrilling episode, Frank and Shirley dive into the unexpected twists and turns of Survivor season 47, episode four, titled “Is That Blood in Your Hair?”. The duo unpacks the blindsides, chaotic alliances, and game-changing moves that left Keshawn packing. As Rome flexes his power in the game, alliances shift, and emotions run high, leading to an intense tribal council. They break down the strategy behind the blindsides and discuss the future of key players like Soul and Genevieve. Timestamps and Topics: 00:00: Introduction to Survivor season 47, episode four 00:18: Keshawn's unexpected exit – blindsided and betrayed 01:04: Genevieve's rise to power – her pivotal move 01:19: Rome's dominance – how long can it last? 02:03: Tribe dynamics and the looming betrayal 04:45: The breadwinner alliance – will they stay strong? 09:04: Sue's big idol find and red paint disaster 11:02: Rome's threats and bullying tactics – a step too far? 17:29: Challenge breakdown – red tribe's epic failure 22:45: Journey twist – who took the risk, and what's at stake? 29:33: Rome vs. Soul – the power struggle intensifies 32:53: Tribal council chaos – who got blindsided and why? Key Takeaways: Genevieve's power move has placed her at the center of the game, but will it last? Rome's controlling behavior may soon backfire as he alienates his tribe members. Soul is in a vulnerable position but might find hope if new alliances form. Keshawn's blindside proves that no one is safe, even if their name isn't on the chopping block. The breadwinner alliance could be a dominant force moving forward if they can hold it together. Memorable Quotes: “That damn Genevieve. Now I want her to go.” – Shirley “Rome's been making every right move, but he's also so incredibly annoying!” – Frank “Sue wears her age like the rest of us – no way she's pulling off 45!” – Shirley Call to Action:Enjoying the Survivor breakdown? 1967 – The Summer of Love. The Beatles sang “All You Need is Love,” while the Mamas and the Papas sang their international hit “San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair).” The Summer of Love was a time when “free sex,” drugs, and lots of rock 'n' roll — the more mind-bending and psychedelic the better — fueled an idealistic Utopian vision for world peace, love, and anti-materialism. It was a time when Harvard University professor-turned-LSD-guru Timothy Leary urged disaffected young people to question authority, reject straight society and “turn on, tune in and drop out.” It has blossomed in the first quarter of the 21st century into the cult of the modern self. Your identity is what you determine it to be. Gender is fluid. Sex is no longer confined to an intimate marriage relationship between a (biological) man and a (biological) woman. Authority is rejected as authoritarianism. Restraint and self-control are repression and oppression. As we have emphasized throughout our summer series from Proverbs 1–9, wisdom from God in his Word is not just a theory. Our Bible text this week, Proverbs 6:20–7:27, continues the theme of embracing the Word of God as the way of wisdom and life, while rejection of his authority is sin and folly and leads to death and destruction. This week we will look at another warning given to avoid sexual sin. This warning is illustrated through a parable that dramatically illustrates for us the folly of sexual immorality. We need this wisdom; we need the one who is wisdom to not be deceived by peer pressure or the culture around us. By the mercy of Christ, we can avoid being simpletons seduced by the culture or those around us to yield to the seductress. In Christ we can live a brighter, more loving, more fruitful life to the glory of God. In Christ alone, Pastor Rod ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Discussion & Response Questions for Proverbs 6:20-7:27 1. List, compare, and contrast the qualities or characteristics of the two women in chapters 6 and 7, Wisdom and the Seductress. 2. How does the teaching of Proverbs about sexual purity and marriage compare with the teachings of Paul (1 Cor. 7) and Jesus (Matt. 5:27–30)? 3. What is the role of the family in sex education? How should parents go about teaching their children about sex (see 5:1; 6:20; 7:1)? 4. How can Wisdom protect you from sexual immorality? 5. Why is Wisdom more important than a husband or wife? 6. Contrast the way in which the Bible speaks about human sexuality with the way in which sexual matters are portrayed in worldly media. 7. How does knowing you have a place in the final marriage supper of the lamb (Revelation 19:6–10) empower you to say no to sexual temptation today? Questions for Self-Examination: 8. Is what you are doing with respect to sexual thoughts and actions simply wrong? Do you sexualize or lust after people you know are forbidden? 9. Are you captivated by sex? Are you driven by it, obsessing about it? Do you find yourself acting impulsively or compulsively with respect to sex? 10. Do you hide what you are doing? Have you created a secret garden of sexual sin? Do you use sex as a refuge from boredom, stress, loneliness, or pain? 11. If you are tempted or ensnared, how will you bring these things to light? What brother in Christ (if you are a man) or sister in Christ (if you are a woman) can you confess your sin and seek their prayer and counsel?

0. San Francisco (met Daniel Herskedal) 1'55” 1. If you've read any personal development/self-help book out there, you know the importance of gratitude. It sounds simple, but there's a little more to it than just saying what you're grateful for (though that's a big part of it). What about those days where everything wrong is just glaring right at you, and you're really struggling? Do you brush those feelings aside and keep on with the gratitude? Nope, that's what toxic positivity is called. My guest Mollie and I chat about this very topic. We also talked about:The differences between a lack mindset, versus an abundance mindset The work-life “balance” - is that even a thing? (hint: I don't think so...it's more of a blend versus a balance, imo)The feeling of being maxed out, and how gratitude can help to get out of those feelingsThe stigma around MLM, but how joining one can work beautifully for you and your familyWhy the key to starting a gratitude practice is to not have any, zero, outcomes attached Connect with MollieIG: @mollsjimmar BOOKS/RESOURCESQuantum Success by Christy WhitmanAtomic Habits by James ClearMach II with Your Hair on Fire by Richard Bliss BrookeQuantum Energy/Enneagram Coach Whitney Ellison's IG: @wellisonenterprises Find me on IG: @whatabout_themama

Today's guest is Alicia Gleeson-Chernesky. Alicia has been traveling the world working as an accountant by day, and trying to help change perceptions about hair loss by night. We all know that losing our hair is not easy, and Alicia knows that first hand after initially letting hair loss impact her self-esteem and confidence. Now, she has set out on a global mission to find solutions to help others with hair loss or hair imperfections along the way. March is National Reading Month, and all our guests this months have authored a book, and Alicia's is "Mum, where is your hair". You'll learn more about that today, along with Alicia's adventures, and find some answers to those travel-concerns that come to mind when dealing with hair loss - wearing hair pieces or a hat when going through TSA and much more. On this week's episode, we recommend 4 movies YOU should watch while social distancing. Come along as we discuss why Midsommar is the perfect break up movie, how the Last Black Man in San Francisco soundtrack will make you cry, why all romance movies should be as eloquent as Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and how much we love The Farewell. In our opinion, these 2019 movies didn't get the hype they deserved during award season. Now, you can honor them / stream them from your couch! Lisa's Adventure Club: Blarney Castle (0:00:00) This week, in honor of St. Patrick's Day coming up, we are exploring one of Ireland's greatest treasures: Blarney Castle. This castle is famous for its lush gardens, rich history, and famous kissing of the “blarney stone”. Here to help us explore this world landmark is Paul O'Sullivan, the marketing manager from Blarney Castle who is joining us all the way from Ireland. Tough Breakups (0:13:40) Breakups are an important part of growing and finding the partner that fits with you best. Sometimes, we can look back on these experiences and laugh. But in the moment, they're incredibly painful! So how can we get over and move on from a hard breakup to find happiness with someone else? Joining us on the show today is Kimberly Seltzer, a certified therapist, dating coach, and matchmaker. She's going to teach us the ins and outs of the complex breakup process and how to use it for our own growth. Creative Economy (0:33:38) Have you ever heard of the “Creative Economy”? According to Stanford Social Innovation Review, the creative economy are industries “that lie at the crossroads of arts, culture, business, and technology.” In this economy, you can turn your creative ideas into a profitable endeavor or a career. This includes a whole range of careers from photography to computer gaming. So what is the significance of the creative economy and how does it play a role in our everyday lives? We are joined today by the author of “The Creative Economy: How People Make Money from Ideas,” John Howkins. Coronavirus and Sick Days (0:50:36) Ever since the Coronavirus broke loose, we've seen people respond in a variety of ways. Many in hysteria have made a mad dash to places like Costco to stock up on toilet paper and water. Others have ordered mass amounts of face masks, which the surgeon general told people to stop buying for the sake of sick hospital patients. None of these items are likely to protect you from the virus, but all health professionals can concur that the best things you can do to stay safe are wash your hands, don't touch your face and most importantly... stay home if you're sick. But what about the people who can't afford to take a sick day? Here to share her thoughts on the subject is Alex Baptiste of the National Partnership for Women and Families. Mini Book Club: Great Authors (1:03:54) Rachel Wadham, of BYU Radio's Worlds Awaiting, talks with Lisa and Richie about the best authors whose work is worth checking out. Spending Less Time on Your Hair (1:26:02) Daylight saving was this weekend meaning that we lost a whole hour of precious beauty sleep. With that in mind, the idea of getting up early to make sure you have time to style your hair doesn't sound fun! Having some tricks up your sleeve to cut down on your hair routine can be especially helpful as we have busy mornings and we're trying to get as much sleep as possible. We're talking with Michelle Lindsay about how we can spend less time on our hair. Michelle is a hair stylist, color expert, and an instructor for L'oreal Professionnel.

Mike Marshall has a voice you've probably heard before. He was the vocal on the 90s anthem I’ve Got Five On It. More recently, Marshall covered San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair) in the movie The Last Black Man in San Francisco. Marshall waited decades to feel recognized for his voice. And it took two movies that take place around the Bay Area to make that happen. Guest: Chloe Veltman, arts and culture reporter for KQED Click here to read Chloe's full story.

Is it a stoner comedy? Is it a crime drama? It's neither. It's the sixth in our series of unnecessary commentaries for Timothy Olyphant movies. OKRP's group of 2017 summer interns curated this month's playlist, a meditation on youth and possibility. Check out what the next generation of advertising sounds like! 8teen — Khalid This song — and Khalid in general — knows how to transport you to having no responsibilities, to driving through your hometown with your friends and all the windows down, music blasting. To wondering what love was like, or worrying about coming home to a parent’s punishment. Take Khalid’s alternative R&B genius for a spin, you won’t regret it. — Anna Alonso Waiting in Vain — Bob Marley “Waiting in Vain” catches the classic Bob Marley vibe that so many other reggae artists try to repeat. Bob glides over the classic reggae beat and riffs, singing as he waits in vain for some love. — Jake Lesnik Momma’s Boy — Chromeo A quirky pop classic about a momma’s boy who is in search for the ideal woman. The upbeat melody of the song contrasts well with the dark comedic lyrics to weave an interesting tale about the search for love. — Tristian Montgomery Adieu — Tchami This song in general for me will absolutely never get old, I can listen to it five times in a row. It has that melodic chill vibe that hits home for me, but also gets you moving when the drop comes around. I know if you are into EDM, this is a trademark song for what it is all about. Let it work on you and you’ll begin to respect it. — Creighton Hudak iT — Christine and the Queens With a beat that will cause every vein in your body to dance, “iT” by Christine and the Queens should be your go-to track whenever you need a moment to sway around the kitchen or take a cruise under the city lights. Regardless of your gender, I guarantee that after playing this track you’ll be screaming, “I’m a man now” at the top of your lungs. — Zur Thibodeaux Flowers in Your Hair — The Lumineers “Flowers in Your Hair” is super short, but jam-packed with meaningful lyrics. This song talks about getting older and paints a great picture. “Flowers in Your Hair” is super laid-back and easy to listen to for almost every occasion. — Lauren Mitchell River Lea — Adele I remember being at DTW airport (Detroit) in December of 2015, waiting for my flight home, listening to “25” on repeat. I appreciated Adele’s ability to generate a feeling of “love lost” in me even though I haven’t necessarily lost a love. The album, as is expected of Adele, weaves a narrative of regret and rebirth. “River Lea” is where the former starts to transition into the latter. It is all about Adele coming to terms with her bad habits, the fact that they are difficult to challenge, and apologizing for the impact they may have had on her partner. The river is a representation of the habits that ruined her relationship. It has made her who she is, but has also carried her down a path she can’t continue on, emphasized in a part of the chorus, saying “I can’t go back to the river.” She is leaving behind the person she was so that she can move on to the next phase of her life. — Guy Madjar Why Georgia — John Mayer Mayer’s lyrics, “quarter-life crisis” and “of a still verdictless life” indicate a feeling of being lost — however, when paired with a pop melody and soft falsetto, the listener gets a warm, hopeful vibe that makes this an easy listen. This one brings me to summer road trips with mom and miles and miles of karaoke. — Grace Paul Sunshine — Atmosphere This is a feel good hip-hop song with understandable lyrics, and warm sounds to match. I choose this song so listeners can be exposed to hip-hop that tells a story while still providing a festive vibe. — John McCormick All the Pretty Girls — Kaleo Kaleo is an up-and-coming group from Iceland with an “indie pop,” Bon Iver essence. I love listening to “All the Pretty Girls” when I want to unwind because of its tranquil and sincere sound. On my 18-hour car ride home from Miami of Ohio to Colorado, I listened to it probably 100+ times. It simply never gets old. — Natalie Cofield

Its a stunning early summer morning when Val and Faith welcome Dorthe Pedersen and Nicolas of Cyclng Without Age to the studio. We share our bike moments and a little local news including the release of the Bike Law Book by the Victoria Law Foundation.Dorthe tells us all about Cycling Without Age, from it's inception in Denmark, to its spread around the world, their latest chapter in Tasmania and what they plan to do for the rest of their stay in Australia. Sharing stories as volunteers pedal those who've lost much of their own mobility is proving to be a winning combination, although as Dorthe and Nicolas have already discovered, the tagline "The Right to Wind in Your Hair" acquires an extra piquancy in Australia. We wrap up with a very short list of events leading up to Christmas, including FOJCX.
