Stanley Cup Champion Tyler Kennedy joined the show. Josh Yohe talked to Sidney Crosby and Sid said he'd like to play as long as he can. Yohe suggested five years and Sid said "that would be nice." A discussion about milk.
Sidney Crosby told Josh Yohe that he wants to play multiple years. This is good news for the Penguins. Have the Penguins passed the threshold for a full rebuild? Tyler Kennedy thinks it would take years to come back from a full rebuild. The Penguins don't have their next face of the franchise after Sidney Crosby and is concerning. Would Sidney Crosby be fine with taking a couple steps back to take a couple steps forward?

On Talkin' Hockey, we're all about the long weekends, and so of course we're here today, albeit in pre-recorded form! We've talked about both the opponents that they faced in the finals during their back to back Cup runs, so today we're talkin' Penguins! The 1991-92 squad had a bit of a roller coaster season before settling in to take Lord Stanley for the second straight year. Their coach, the legendary "Badger" Bob Johnson had to step down in the off-season when he was diagnosed with cancer, and sadly he passed away in November of 1991. The team was sold, also in November, to a couple of fellas from the Minnesota North Stars ownership group that they had vanquished the year before - a guess if you can't beat 'em, you buy 'em! On the ice, it was the usual cast of characters - Lemieux, Stevens, Francis, Jagr, and Mullen, plus steady Tom Barrasso between the pipes and a blue line featuring Paul Coffey and newcomer Larry Murphy. Ol' Paul got shipped out in February shakeup alongside Mark Recchi that steadied the squad, adding toughness with Rick Tocchet and Kjell Samuelsson coming in. They finished strong and blew through the playoffs, sweeping the Blackhawks in the finals.Speaking of playoffs, we'll catch you up on the current goings on as 3 of our 4 semi-finalists are set, with a big game 7 between Montreal and Buffalo set to go as we exit the airwaves today. Colorado and Vegas carry on the proud Jagr tradition this year, as both Brett Kulak and Rasmus Andersson played with the mulleted magician meaning that this is year marks the 46th (!!!) straight that the finals will feature a former teammate of ol' #68.Finally, co-host Tom slips into Mats Sundin's silky Swedish slacks and we break down the myriad of questions facing the Maple Leafs this off season.
Who should be the Penguins goalie next season? Quinn Hughes does not seem happy. Tyler Kennedy thinks if Evgeni Malkin doesn't except one year, that the Penguins should let him walk and Malkin could end up in Washington or in Florida.
TK faced a lot of backlash for proposing a trade for Vincent Trocheck involving a first-round pick and one of Will Horcoff or Bill Zonnon. TK is hearing Evgeni Malkin wants more than one year. He knows it's not about money, but it's about years.

5-13-2026 The Pomp & Joe Show
Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson react to a portion of the end-of-season press conference that Penguins' GM Kyle Dubas held on Tuesday where he discussed what he felt were some of the biggest weaknesses of the team.
Sergei Murashov will likely be a mainstay for the Pittsburgh Penguins for the forseeable future, but who will be with him when the 2026-27 season begins? Check out our latest episodes
Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy comes on The Fan Hotline to discuss how GM Kyle Dubas might be feeling about how this season went ahead of the end-of-season press conference Dubas is scheduled to have on Tuesday.
Kyle Dubas held his end-of-season press conference today and the big question & answer was in regard to the future of Evgeni Malkin. Is that the smartest move by the Penguins right now? He was still a point per game player this past season and really isn't blocking an abundance of young talent since he made the move from center to wing. All along it felt like the tea leaves were saying the Penguins wouldn't bring him back, but today made fans and media feel as if their goal was to have Malkin run it back.
On this episode of Tip of the Ice-Burgh, Nick Belsky and Nick Horwat dive into the future of Erik Karlsson after the veteran defenseman's resurgent season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. They also break down the organization's evolving goaltending picture with Sergei Murashov dominating the Calder Cup Playoffs, and discuss how a new wave of young talent may be reshaping the future of the NHL during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Episode 100 hits a little different, because the best parts of Pittsburgh food culture aren't just pierogi, pepperoni rolls, and perfect cookie tables. It's the way people use food to find each other, support each other, and build something that lasts. We're joined by Shayla Penn, who returns to the table to share what's happened since her early appearance on the show, and it's a lot: hosting cooking demos & competitions, founding a non-profit, all while her Facebook community Burgh Eats and Treats has grown to nearly 33,000 members. Shayla is truly cooking with fire in our food community. Then we go from community power to cookie craft with Maddy Hernandez of Pastries A-La-Carte in Pleasant Hills. Maddy is the lead cookie decorator, and she breaks down what it takes to oversee custom cutouts, weddings, and wholesale at a busy Pittsburgh bakery. She shares the sweet headline you'll want to repeat: Pastries A-La-Carte is the official bake shop of the Pittsburgh Penguins, with desserts in the suites and beyond, plus the behind-the-scenes systems that keep quality high when the volume is nonstop. If you like Pittsburgh bakeries, and stories about how local food turns into real connection, you'll feel right at home here. Hello and welcome back to the Trudge Report Podcast. Thank you for your listenership and support of the show. This week the four of us are back in action as we go around the horn. Greg is sweating out a game 7 for the Cavs in the 1st round of the NBA playoffs while Corey is very pleased with his Philadelphia Flyers series victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1st round of the Stanley Cup Finals. Dan has a very hot take and quick rant about soccer being the inferior youth sport (listeners make sure you let us know what you think in the comment section). Shawn tells a cool story of a kids t-ball team party at an ex major league baseball player's home. The main topic in this episode surrounds the subject of what it actually means to be a man. Who taught us? What we were taught and what we got wrong. The lessons we learned growing up and especially once we got sober and evolved in this phase of our lives. We discuss how we feel we are perceived by others, mainly our families and friends. The role of being a provider versus a nurturer and the balance therein. We closed the show with what we would tell our former younger selves, the best piece of guidance we could give and what to watch out for. The great thing about this journey is that no one can take it for us or spare us of it."The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively." — Bob MarleyDon't forget to like, share, rate, and download the podcast on all of your listening platforms. Stanley Cup Champion Tyler Kennedy joined the show. Dorin and Crowley are reporting Aaron Rodgers is expected to be in Pittsburgh tonight. TK is skeptical about bringing Evgeni Malkin back and thinks Malkin has one-year left. TK would move on from Aaron Rodgers and thinks Steelers will stay the same. Rodgers' presence is blocking Will Howard or Drew Allar.
The Penguins have re-signed Connor Dewar to a two-year contract extension. They also re-signed defenseman Ilya Solovyov. Fan Morning Show reported that Aaron Rodgers will be in Pittsburgh tonight. Stanley Cup Champion Tyler Kennedy thinks Evgeni Malkin should be back and play on the third line. Joe thinks Sergei Murashov should compete with Arturs Silovs.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have won the draft lottery to pick McKenna. Bob doesn't think it's a slam dunk that it's Gavin McKenna. Did McKenna have a letdown of a year at PSU? Bob and Austin don't like the draft lottery. Jeff Patton of Baseball Card Castle joined the show.
In this episode of The Penguins Collective Podcast, Josh and Louie break down the 2025-2026 Pittsburgh Penguins season. From unexpected roster shakeups to the impact on cap strategy, they dive into what it all means for the rest of the season — all from a fans-first perspective.
If there was a team that truly took people off guard in a positive way during the regular season, it was the Pittsburgh Penguins.With a rookie head coach, an aging core and a relatively non-descript 2025 off-season, the Pens proved from opening night that, just because "experts" think one way, those assessments mean nothing to the team in the room.Still, an opening-round playoff loss to a lower seed leaves plenty of questions for GM Kyle Dubas in preparing the club for 2026-27.X: https://twitter.com/NHLWraparoundNeil Smith: https://twitter.com/NYCNeilVic Morren: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vic-morren-7038737/NHL Wraparound Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nhlwraparound/#NHLWraparound #NHLWraparound.com #ShortShifts #NYCentric #CelebritySeries #HallofFameEdition #StanleyCupdate #SummerCoolers #Smith'sPix #NeilSmith #VicMorren #NHL #SummerCoolers #PittsburghPenguins #KyleDubas #DanMuse #SidneyCrosby #AnthonyMantha #YegorChinakov #ColumbusBlueJackets #JustinBrazeau #ConnorDewar #TommyNovak #NoelAcciari #ErikKarlsson #StuartSkinner #ArtursSilovs #TristanJarry #BrettKulak #ColoradoAvalanche #SamGirard #LukeSchenn #MikeSullivan #NewYorkRangers #EvgeniMalkin #KevinHayes #ConnorClifton #RyanShea #IlyaSolovyov #BryanRust #RickardRakell #SpencerCarbery #WashingtonCapitals #AlexOvechkin #BrettBurns #CoreyPerry #WarrenYoung
After it was revealed that the Toronto Maple Leafs will be getting the first overall pick, likely to select prospect Gavin McKenna, in the upcoming NHL Draft, Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson wonder if the Penguins might be able to strike a deal to get Leafs' current star, veteran C Auston Matthews.
Who had the better season: The Toronto Maple Leafs or the Pittsburgh Penguins?

Episode 351 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, starts with an emotional tribute to goalie, broadcaster and friend John Garrett, who passed away suddenly, and concludes with an interview with Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Gabriel Daigle. In the feature interview presented by NHL Sense Arena, Daigle shares stories and lessons from a somewhat unique path to pro hockey, including time spent training with hometown hero Marc-Andre Fleury, and insights into a bounce back season with Victoriaville in the QMJHL that led to signing with the Penguins and making his pro debut in the ECHL this season. We also get into some of the foundation he's built with long-time coach Marco Raimondo in his native Quebec and some of the early adjustments to pro hockey with Penguins development coach Karel Popper. In the Parent Playbook, presented by Stop it Goaltending U the App, we present an offseason reality check for equipment shopping and the importance of knowing when "pro level" gear might not just be overkill financially, but could also do more harm than good to a young goalie. We also review this week's Pro Reads, presented by Vizual Edge, featuring Frederik Andersen of the Carolina Hurricanes breaking down a situation every beer leaguer can relate to: a 2-on-0! And in our weekly gear segment, we head to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, for a look at the new CCM Pro Tacks pads, gloves and blocker to dig into some of the big changes in the new line.

The Philadelphia Flyers closed out the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 6 OT, capping a surprisingly solid “bridge year” for Pittsburgh’s aging core, with Evgeni Malkin expressing interest in returning at 40 and Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang also expected back. Philly, meanwhile, nearly let a 3–0 series slip but got a great performance from goalie Dan Vladar leading to Cam York’s eventual winner, though a tough matchup with the Carolina Hurricanes awaits. The Montreal Canadiens moved within one win of eliminating the Tampa Bay Lightning thanks to Alex Texier’s Game 5 winner and stellar goaltending from Jakub Dobes, while Brendan Gallagher made an immediate impact in his playoff debut, setting up a raucous Game 6 at the Bell Centre. Out West, Brett Howden scored a shorthanded double-OT winner to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 3–2 edge over Utah in a series where goaltending has been uncertain at best, and at times, chaotic. The Edmonton Oilers face elimination on the road against the Anaheim Ducks in Game 6, needing early pressure on Dostal, but also the consistency they’ve lacked all season. The Minnesota Wild have an opportunity at home to eliminate the Dallas Stars behind Jesper Wallstedt and their heavy-minute defenders, who are proving to be a difficult matchup.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
