I'm Howler. A man with a compulsion to create.Welcome back to the Bone Brew, Brave Souls. It is a new year and as is common for most, I have been looking back on things and thinking about where I will take my craft over the next year.I wrote this article last year: This Time Next Year. A vow, about where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do. This is somewhat of an amendment but not really. More like a reintroduction to Me, The Bonebrew, and the Art I seek to create.I don't believe in resolutions. I think that instead, Refusals are far more potent. I think that decisions are far more valuable. So this Article is an expounding upon the conversation in the video. Enjoy! I have quotes and words that guide me.Guide Posts:* Temperance* Awe* Be a Monster* Look at your life, look at your choices.* Slow is Smooth, Smooth is fast.* You are the Universe Experiencing itself. The Newest wordAttendSimple, elegant, not as weighty or heavy as Responsibility, Discipline, Obligation, or Duty (ha I said duty)I think the word ATTEND, Is a North Star this 2026The LieI have lived many a Life.* Soldier* Plumber* Corporate drone* BartenderMore I don't even care to count. Thing is that Often times we will tell creatives that the breadth of experience is the key to making long lasting creative works. And to some degree that has merit but I posit after mulling this over for the last five years; that is frankly a lie, and at best a half truth. We frame it as Tuition for lessons learned. We frame it as cutting our teeth in other fields, we frame it as the long way around. All of it is Cope. Stories to make ourselves feel better for not doing the thing. What ever that creative thing maybe, whether drawing, writing, painting, film making.Excuses and AvoidanceAll of it.Here's a thought experiment. Do you think the first people who drew Superman ever went skydiving?Just sit with that for a second. Did they ever go skydiving? Would they know what it's like to fly?But they drew Superman flying, jumping tall buildings, running at the speed of sound. Did they know what that felt like?So I know, and I can tell you, that art does not require experience. My RoadI can't speak as if I know you. I can only speak from my own road, my own experience. I opened my eyes one morning and felt like I'd wasted time. I was asking myself what the hell I was really doing. There was a festering rot in the pit of my stomach and in the back of my throat…“Plumbing, feeds that part of me that wants to leave something behind so it's feasible. You know, practical artistry…” Every time I said it, I could taste the bile of falsehood bubbling. A half truth. I was sacrificing for love, for obligation, I was being disciplined. There in lies the rub, the friction of it all. The greatest cage I could ever find myself in, the one of my own making. The title of Father, of Husband. Titles I wear proudly.Yet, I could feel the rot. Bubbling, building. This stuff here, this art thing for me, is like its own weird introspective therapy. Its own weird sense of clarity. It helps me think. It challenges me. Oh my God, does it challenge me.And without that... I said this to my dad the other day about it. I would be one mean son of a bitch. God, would I be one mean son of a bitch. If I don't get time to create, I get cranky. The CostWhat pray tell is it?The Anchor of Resentment. To name the thing is to disarm it, to remove it's power. Or at the very least that is the first step. I was resentful of the Titles I wore so proudly. How? Why? How is it that I found myself resenting Roles that I have wanted since I was a boy? How was that even remotely possible? It is far easier, to sail the seas of Novelty without any direction. Yet the cost is often being drowned by the Anchor(s) of Resentment, no matter how noble the Sacrifice. It is only when you are drowning that you will scramble for the closest piece of land. That is when you find yourself where you don't want to be, where you never dreamed of being. The thing about the anchor is this. You might not drown today. Tomorrow. But if you allow it... you will find the entire ship of yur life sinking. And you won't understand why.I'd allowed myself to drift and be taken by the current on the Sea of Novelty, I'd Abandoned myself for the sake of Family. How dangerous a thing. Not for me, but for the ones I love so dearly. I found I was willing to kill my dreams for them, whether I wanted to or not and in doing so I would grow to hate them all the same. The RemedyBut again friction. The RubThey didn't ask that of me, they did not require I kill a part of myself. On the contrary they want the fullest version of me.How would I ever be able to show up for them If I could not show up for myself? How could I ever fully give them my attention if I was always thinking of something else? These were the questions I found and in the asking the answer came from an unlikely source. My boy, my lil dragon, my monster. My son.AttendWe find ourselves back at that word.I took to taking walks with him during the evenings. I try to see the world through his eyes. He notices ants everywhere. The way a blade of grass is different from another. The awe in every lizard, every cloud, in the stars. He notices the things I walk by everyday without notice or care. The Mundane. He simply pays attention to the Mundane.Life is Mundane, most of us will not live some extraordinary existence, most of us will have died within a few miles of where we grew up. Creation does not require some grand adventure. You don't gain the right to be creative because you were adventurous. There is no reward system for having had an extraordinary life. Hell, Kings think themselves ordained by the heavens and it is as normal as breathing, they think their lives mundane because they awake in it each and every day.So what does it take to be a Creative?Attention. In my estimate You must attend to three things.* First and foremost* Your CraftWhatever that craft may be, attend to it's study, inner workings, and the pursuit of it's mastery. Because there is no craft without it's rules, principles, or best practices.* Secondly* SelfYour well being, your mental, your emotional, your spiritual. You ought to know what makes you tick. You ought to know what sets you on fire. You ought to know the question you are constantly seeking to answer within your own craft, and in life.* Lastly * The Mundane. The thing that spits in the face of the ‘Go live' platitude. As creatives we are the ones who make the mundane spectacular, whether it be a starry night, the whine of string, or the horror of human depravity. We are the ones who open the eyes of others, we are the ones who remind people of themselves. We are the bridge between the fantastical and the mundane, the speculative and the everyday.I don't claim that this is easy. Or that world is even conducive to this always. I do know it is the only antidote I have found, the only answer that seems to work for me.It is mundane, monotonous, repetitive, routine work. I used to hate doing that. I used to hate doing the same thing over and over again. But it is here we find depth, It is only in repetition that you find mastery.2026So, this 2026, I am choosing the Depth.I'm choosing the thing that keeps calling my name in the dead of night. The thing that keeps howling at me.Regardless of what I'm doing. The thing I'm constantly thinking about.I'm choosing it. And as I choose it, I refuse to not attend to my life. I will attend to the mundane in all of its glory. That is my refusal. That is my decision.I refuse to be trapped and drowned by the anchors of resentment. But instead, I am deciding to instead Dive into the depths! This you?If you find yourself on the same path that I was on, and you find yourself mulling something over for years at a time,Find yourself resenting your titles, your Roles, then I implore you.I implore you to dive into the depths, because that is where the anchor residesBecause only in the depths will you be able to cut yourself free from those anchors.Welcome to the bone brew.I am Howler.I'm just a man speaking from the road.A Birthday RequestI turn another year older TODAY!I'm not a fan of gifts. Top Stories for December 27th Publish Date: December 27th PRE-ROLL: Sugar Hill Ice Skating From the BG AD Group Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Saturday, December 27th and Happy Birthday to Mick Jones I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by Gwinnett KIA Mall of Georgia. Rising costs for insurance, with reports of refusals to pay claims, could spur legislation Georgia DOT suspends lane closures for the holidays Grayson man gets 80-year prison sentence for robbery-turned-murder All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: Kia Mall of Georgia STORY 1: Rising costs for insurance, with reports of refusals to pay claims, could spur legislation Insurance costs are climbing, and people are fed up. Policyholders say they’re paying more for less—claims denied, delays dragging on for months. Meanwhile, insurers aren’t exactly thrilled with Georgia either. The state ranked dead last in profitability for insurance companies last year. “Less competition means higher prices,” said Robert Hoyt from UGA’s Terry College of Business. At a final hearing in Gwinnett, lawmakers heard it all: auto repair shops battling insurers, marathoners denied prosthetics, and frustrated customers paying out of pocket. Rep. Matt Reeves says change is coming. “We’ll be looking at prices, profits, and penalties. It’s overdue.” STORY 2: Georgia DOT suspends lane closures for the holidays With the holidays here, there’s a little gift from GDOT: no lane closures on major roads, interstates, or near shopping spots. From Dec. 23 at 6 a.m. to Dec. 28 at 10 p.m., and again Dec. 31 at 5 a.m. to Jan. 2 at 5 a.m., you’ll get a smoother ride. But don’t zone out—crews might still be working, and emergencies? Yeah, those closures can still happen. Stay sharp, watch for signs, and be extra careful near work zones. Need updates? Check the 511GA app or GDOT’s website. Safe travels, and happy holidays! STORY 3: Grayson man gets 80-year prison sentence for robbery-turned-murder A 20-year-old from Grayson, known on the streets as “Draino,” will spend the rest of his life—and then some—behind bars. Adrian Synclare Johnson was convicted last Friday on nearly two dozen charges, including murder and racketeering, for his role in the February killing of 24-year-old Gerryon Ceasor during a botched drug robbery. The sentence? Two life terms (one without parole) plus 20 years. “Gang violence won’t be tolerated,” said DA Patsy Austin-Gatson. Prosecutors say Johnson and six others planned to rob Ceasor of his Draco pistol. Shots were fired. Ceasor didn’t survive. The others await trial. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: Ingles Markets STORY 4: Polar Vortex Is Strengthening: What It Means For GA Winter Temps Georgia’s Christmas forecast? It was warm. And, according to The Weather Channel, this unseasonably toasty trend is sticking around through March. Why? A strong polar vortex. Sounds intense, right? But here’s the twist: the stronger it is, the less it messes with us. Instead of icy blasts, we’re looking at above-average temps across the South, especially in February. Meanwhile, the North gets the cold and wet. La Niña vibes, basically—warm down here, chilly up there. So, enjoy the sunshine, Georgia. Winter’s taking it easy. STORY 5: Georgia swears in its youngest state representative At just 21, Ali’s already making waves. Youngest lawmaker in Georgia’s history? Check. Youngest Democratic state rep in the country? Also check. But he’s quick to brush off the titles. “First and foremost, I’m a brother, a son, and your neighbor,” he says. Ali’s story mirrors his district’s—immigrant parents, humble beginnings, and a relentless climb. “We went from eating white rice every night to owning a home,” he recalls. That shaped him. His journey into politics started young, sparked by threats to his community’s mosque. Now, he’s building bridges, lowering costs, and proving age doesn’t define leadership. We’ll be right back. Break 3: DTL HOLIDAY INTERVIEW - Lorraine Green STORY 6: Metro Atlanta man accused of cheating people out of almost $1 million by selling bogus UGA tickets A 43-year-old Alpharetta man, Matthew Neet, is accused of pulling off a nearly $1 million scam that targeted college football fans and investors. Fake tickets, bogus investments—he allegedly promised it all, but delivered nothing. Prosecutors say Neet offered hard-to-get UGA football tickets (think Alabama, Texas matchups) and pitched timberland projects in Costa Rica. The catch? None of it was real. Instead, he pocketed $943,000 from over two dozen victims. Neet’s been charged with wire fraud and waived indictment. The FBI’s still digging, and prosecutors are ready to take him on. STORY 7: ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ cast member Kandi Burruss stars in ‘& Juliet’ on Broadway Kandi Burruss is taking her talents to Broadway. Yep, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and Grammy-winning artist joined the cast of & Juliet on Dec. 11 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York. She’s stepping into the role for a limited run through March 8, 2026, following TikTok sensation Cheryl Porter. The show? A playful twist on Romeo & Juliet—what if Juliet didn’t, you know, end it all over Romeo? Burruss, a 14-season RHOA veteran, adds this to her packed résumé: singer, songwriter, producer, restaurateur, and now Broadway star. We’ll have closing comments after this Break 4: GCPS Hiring Signoff – Thanks again for hanging out with us on today’s Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Moments before recording time a plea for assistance arrived from a victim of the barrage of MA plan brutality that happens to everyone who turns age 65. In our episode 56 the Triple Vision team turns its attention to an issue which it has been wanting to highlight for some time now, the increasing rates of guide dog refusals in Canada. On December 21, 2024 Jessica Rathwell tried to board a bus from Surrey BC to Kamloops to meet her family for Christmas. To her shock the bus driver refused to let her board because she said that Jessica had not given the bus company 48 hours notice, that the bus was full and they needed to block off 4 seats in advance to accommodate her. Jessica literally took a stand, refusing to move and holding up the bus for an hour in order to demand that her rights be respected. For that she has been banned from the bus company for life. Despite over fifty years of guide dog legislation and human rights jurisprudence, many Canadian guide dog handlers are saying that guide dog refusals are getting more numerous, rather than less. Through Jessica telling her story the Triple Vision team starts to unpack this deteriorating situation of guide dog access in Canada."The only reason I left was because she told me, calmly, that I should so I did. I went with them and they put me in the back of their car like a criminal. They didn't cuff me, but they put me in the back, so I now know what the back of a cop car looks like."

What do we do when someone we love says no to the very thing we believe will help them most? When care is met with resistance, it can feel frustrating and heartbreaking—especially when dementia is part of the story. In this episode, we unpack the topic of refusals of care in dementia: why they happen, what's really behind the resistance, and how we can respond with more compassion and less fear. Joining me is award-winning dementia care educator Adria Thompson, founder of Be Light Care Consulting. With over nine years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, Adria shares practical strategies for decreasing refusals of care through communication, environment, and truly knowing the person behind the diagnosis. Mark and Alicia walk through real-world scenarios, key case law, and provide actionable advice for how to navigate this sensitive part of the application. This episode is a must-listen for anyone preparing to submit their Express Entry application and unsure how much to disclose.
What REALLY happens if you refuse to give ID during a traffic stop? Is it just about asserting your rights, or are there real consequences that most people don't consider? In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on what actually happens when drivers refuse to identify themselves, based on my 20+ years as an LAPD motor cop who wrote over 60,000 citations. You've seen the viral videos—drivers refusing to hand over ID, cops calling in supervisors, cars getting impounded. But is it just for clicks, or is there a legitimate strategy behind it?
This week we revisit the topic of Dog Guide refusals in Uber and other rideshare platforms. Paula Hobly recently announced that she had lodged a complaint against Uber with the Federal Court. How significant is this problem and are there ways to make it easier for blind and vision impaired people who simply want to get to appointments on time?

This is a continuation of our previous discussion with Pantea Jarafi regarding the systemic refusals of Canadian Self Employed applications in the Warsaw office. Mark Holthe and Pantea discuss the class-action case of Tafreshi v MCI 2022 FC 1089, and the struggle that 110 applicants have had to go through to obtain justice from IRCC. The issues to lie in a calculated and systemic refusal of Self-Employed applications in the Warsaw office and a refusal on the part of IRCC to adhere to the rule of law and respect basic principles of procedural fairness within the adjudication process. Connect with Pantea directly if you feel like you have been affected by a similar issue or if you need help with a judicial review of your refused application: www.jafarilaw.ca/ Watch Part 1 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnDIvxlDA-c&t=189s Joorney Business Plans (Title Sponsor): https://www.joorney.ca/
REFUSALS. It is God's will to enter into our lives, and abide in us. He does not force us, He calls us. But we ourselves often block this from happening. We sometimes intentionally stand in the way of a fuller life with God. Let's talk about these impediments, these "refusals" to make room for God in our hearts. The life of the apostle Paul was indeed an extraordinary one, but what was so extraordinary was not his natural gifts and abilities; it was his whole-hearted devotion to God. In Paul's letter to the Romans, we get a glimpse of his commitment to holy living and discover that holiness demands that we are willing to say "no" as often as we say "yes." Prof. Eugene Volokh joined us to discuss restraining orders, how many of them violate the First Amendment as unlawful prior restraints, and how you can spot the First Amendment problems. The purpose of a restraining orders is to get a person to stop harassing you, but “harassment” can be a pretty vague term—and the same goes for “bullying,” “cyberbullying,” “hate speech,” etc.—especially when no physical violence threatened or happening. The result is that many restraining orders not only prevent the subject from speaking TO the plaintiff, but from speaking ABOUT the plaintiff, and last INDEFINITELY.Here are the key issues to spot the next time a client calls you about a restraining order or injunction that affects free speech:Raise First Amendment challenges, and get familiar with the precedent by reading Prof. Volokh's articles.Look to see if the restraining order merely prohibits speaking to the plaintiff, or goes further and prohibits speaking ABOUT the plaintiff. That's a big difference that implicates the First Amendment. If the subject of a restraining order is facing contempt, consider raising the unconstitutionality of the order as a collateral bar. An unconstitutional order cannot be a basis for contempt, and unconstitutionality is never waived.Prof. Eugene Volokh's biography, LinkedIn profile, and X/Twitter feed.Appellate Specialist Jeff Lewis' biography, LinkedIn profile, and Twitter feed.Appellate Specialist Tim Kowal's biography, LinkedIn profile, Twitter feed, and YouTube page.Sign up for Not To Be Published, Tim Kowal's weekly legal update, or view his blog of recent cases. The California Appellate Law Podcast thanks Casetext for sponsoring the podcast. In the United States, the racial divisions among us seem to be deepening, fueled at least in part by political opportunists who prey upon fear and emotion. Our Lean to the Left podcast guest is Juliet Hooker, a leading thinker on democracy and race and author of a new book, Black Grief, White Grievance. Her book examines racial politics and argues that both White and Black communities must learn to accept loss – for different reasons and to different ends."Political loss has been unequally distributed in the history of the United States," she says during the interview. "Because of White supremacy, Black people, in general, have had to shoulder a disproportionate number of losses and Whites as a group have been able to avoid loss more because of their position as the dominant group, politically, economically, socially."This uneven distribution of loss has consequences for democracy," she asserts, "because it means that some citizens are making more sacrifices on behalf of the stability of the country than others. And in democracy, everyone is supposed to lose, right? That's the definition of democracy. There's change, there's rotation, no one wins all the time. And so that's one of the overall arguments."The Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol by Donald Trump's MAGA supporters is a perfect example of the "White grievance", says Professor Hooker."I think it is," she says. "Of course, there are a number of different things that were going on that fueled January 6th, but I think We one way to think about or one of the factors is definitely this mobilization of the sense that that certain people aren't supposed to lose right in the US that they are the true Americans, right?"About Professor HookerProfessor Hooker is the Royce Family Professor of Teaching Excellence in Political Science at Brown University, where she teaches courses on racial justice, Black political thought, Latin American political thought, democratic theory, and contemporary political theory. Before coming to Brown, she was a faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin. She also is the author of Race and the Politics of Solidarity, Theorizing Race in the Americas, and editor of Black and Indigenous Resistance in the Americas: From Multiculturalism to Racist Backlash. Here are some questions we explored with Professor Hooker as she discussed Black Grief, White Grievance:Q. First, tell us about your book, its premise, and what prompted you to write it.Q. In the promos for your book, it says that in democracies, citizens must accept loss; we can't always be on the winning side. But in the United States, the fundamental civic capacity of being able to lose is not distributed equally among the races. Please explain.Q. In your book's introduction, you write that “Black grief and white grievance are linked because white grievance obscures and supplants Black grief and is often mobilized in response to it. Please explain. Q. How did the Trump administration exacerbate this?Q. Trump, of course, refuses to accept the loss of the 2020 election and the January 6 attack on the Capitol was the result. Is that an example of White grievance?Q. What about Trump's attacks on immigrants seeking asylum in the U.S?Q. You also write that “while Black grief has historically been mobilized by Black activists in service of Black freedom, we must reckon with the loss this entails.” What do you mean?Q. You write that Black citizens are “expected to protest only in the most civil, nondisruptive ways in order for their losses to be legible. Refusals to contain Black rage are said to be counterproductive because they alienate potential white allies.” Are you saying that violent, disruptive protests are justified?Q. Many of the January 6 protestors have received lengthy prison sentences for their actions. But you write that “armed white antimask protesters at various state capitals and white insurrectionists at the Capitol received kid-glove treatment compared to the heavy-handed, violent, repressive tactics unleashed on racial justice protesters.” Do you believe justice is being served in these January 6 cases?Q. Do you believe Donald Trump will face justice for his actions regarding the election and January 6? Why or why not?Q. What about police shootings of unarmed Black people? What needs to happen to end such actions?Q. You write that “Despite recurring anxiety that Black rage at ongoing loss will fray the bonds of the body politic, it is in fact white refusal to accept legitimate political loss that is the most profoundly antidemocratic force in US politics.” Please elaborate.Q. How can these continuing racial tensions be eased in the U.S.?This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4719048/advertisement

Prince Andrew, the Duke of York and a member of the British royal family, became embroiled in a controversy involving his association with Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender. The controversy emerged following Epstein's arrest in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges involving minors.Prince Andrew had been acquainted with Epstein since the late 1990s and was known to have maintained a friendship with him over the years. However, their relationship came under intense scrutiny due to allegations made by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claimed that she had been trafficked by Epstein and forced to have sexual relations with Prince Andrew on multiple occasions, including when she was underage.Prince Andrew categorically denied the allegations, stating in a BBC interview in November 2019 that he had no recollection of ever meeting Giuffre. The interview, however, was widely criticized for its perceived lack of empathy and its failure to address the seriousness of the allegations. The controversy deepened when a photograph emerged showing Prince Andrew with his arm around Giuffre's waist when she was a teenager, further raising questions about the nature of their relationship. Prince Andrew subsequently announced in November 2019 that he would step back from his royal duties indefinitely, a decision that remains in effect as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021.Investigations into Epstein's activities and his associates, including Prince Andrew, continued. In August 2020, U.S. prosecutors publicly requested Prince Andrew's cooperation in their investigation, but it is unclear what level of cooperation he has provided. The controversy surrounding Prince Andrew and his association with Jeffrey Epstein has had significant repercussions for both his public image and his role within the British royal family.Prince Andrew is scared to leave his home during construction according to reports, fearing that King Charles will pack him up and move him while he's not around.(commercial at 7:14)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Prince Andrew refuses to leave his Royal Lodge during building works... in case he's evicted! | Daily Mail OnlineThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5003294/advertisement

If I were a therapist, and a couple came in for counseling, sex would be on the agenda as a topic of conversation. I'd be suspicious if one of the partners completely took it off the table. Before you ask, I am cognizant that, despite Michael Phelps' claims to the contrary, the evidence for the efficacy of most types of therapy is weak. Is there an orgasm reliability threshold below which a typical man would pretty much stop masturbating? Is it reasonable for his female partner to feel "used" if they frequently have sex where he doesn't finish? What really is the difference from her perspective? And, is the new Barbie movie reinforcing outmoded stereotypes, or merely bringing them back into fashion where they belong? Either way, the movie's success hasn't done much for Mattel's stock price. “Israel Defense and Diplomacy Forum” (IDDF), Est. 2022 - A Biweekly Podcast with Chuck Freilich and Benjamin AnthonyEpisode 32 of the Israel Defense and Diplomacy Forum (IDDF) – with Prof. Chuck Freilich, former Israeli Deputy National Security Advisor, and Benjamin Anthony, Co-Founder of the Miryam Institute. In this episode, Chuck and Benjamin continue their discussion of the ongoing crisis in Israel centering around the judicial overhaul process. Following the Knesset decision to nullify the “reasonability” criteria by which the Supreme Court has heretofore weighed the cases before it, both Chuck and Benjamin are deeply concerned by the dire effects of the situation on the cohesion of the IDF and defense establishment as a whole. Benjamin fervently opposes the injection of the IDF into the protest movement. Chuck has a different opinion. They also conduct an in-depth discussion of the dramatic report by NY Times columnist, Tom Friedman, that President Biden is seeking to broker normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia - with heavy terms and conditions attached. Chuck is supportive of such a deal. Benjamin is far more reserved and opposes the Palestinian dimension that would accompany any normalization. It is really frustrating when the person living with dementia refuses to accept care or tells you that he or she already performed the task. You know the drill. “Take a shower,” you say. “I just did,” they say…even though you know it has been days, weeks, maybe months since they have had a shower. Bathing isn't the only challenging behavior. Convincing a person with dementia to remove soiled clothing can be a nightmare, a literal tug-of-war between the two of you. One strategy that is useful is called “caregiver vibes.” This strategy has two parts. The first part is to become calm. Yes, I know that can be a tall order when you are exhausted and overwhelmed. I recommend taking 3 deep breaths. Seriously—breathing long and deep helps to reset the vagus nerve and slows down the heart rate. The second part is to picture yourself successfully getting the care done. In this podcast episode, I explain in detail how to accomplish both steps. I also explain how to integrate "caregiver vibes" with other strategies to gain cooperation.
