Though things were bad in Judah and God's people at that time were being led astray by bad leaders, God was going to provide a righteous leader. All of Judah's kings had failed, some more than others, so God determined to provide His own ruler.

Yes, God has a plan! His plans for you are for you and your good! (See Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28) So don't doubt it for a moment. He is seeking to bring about good in your life. Yet, you may not feel on the receiving end of said promise! You are not alone, and you are probably not crazy.    So, how long has God had this plan? Consider with me what Paul writes to the Church in Ephesus, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:3-6) How does this acceptance come about? Paul explains that our favor in the Father comes to us freely because Jesus paid the great price for sin. We can obtain redemption through the great sacrifice of Jesus and Him alone. His blood was spilled on the cross to pay out the debt. There was a price that was paid!So then, there is the question: Who likes free stuff? We all do. There is something sweet about winning or being given something we did not have to work or pay for. In moments like these, that is excitement and gratitude. Why? Someone paid for it. This amazing grace should fuel our worship.References:Acts 9:6Acts 16:30-311 John 1:9Colossians 4:61 Pe 4:16–19 -----Call us: 208.524.4747prayer@watersprings.netOnline Giving: https://watersprings.net/give.phpServe at Watersprings: https://watersprings.churchcenter.com...CCLI Streaming License: 20080252 Size ECCLI Copyright License: 1406906 Size FDISCLAIMER: Closed captioning and/or transcription is being provided solely for the convenience of our viewers. The power of the Holy Spirit was poured out in the time of Acts 2. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have been given the gift of prophecy. Prophecy edifies the body of Christ. Where is it that you need edification? Learn how the Holy Spirit gives us edification through prophecy. ***** Welcome to Celebrating God's Grace, A Women World Leader's Podcast, I'm your host Robin Kirby-Gatto. Thank you for joining us today as we celebrate God's grace, in our lives, in our ministry, and around the world. Today's message is titled: The Gift of Prophecy The apostle Paul, writer of most of the New Testament, urged the church to edify one another in the grace of God revealed in the gift of prophecy. 1 Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy (interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching). 2 For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding]. 3 But [on the other hand], the one who prophesies [who interprets the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching] speaks to men for their upbuilding and constructive spiritual progress and encouragement and consolation. 4 He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself, but he who prophesies [interpreting the divine will and purpose and teaching with inspiration] edifies and improves the church and promotes growth [in Christian wisdom, piety, holiness, and happiness]. 5 Now I wish that you might all speak in [unknown] tongues, but more especially [I want you] to prophesy (to be inspired to preach and interpret the divine will and purpose). He who prophesies [who is inspired to preach and teach] is greater (more useful and more important) than he who speaks in [unknown] tongues, unless he should interpret [what he says], so that the church may be edified and receive good [from it]. 1 Corinthians 14:1-5 AMPC I will never forget the first time I experienced the beautiful gift of prophecy at a women's prayer meeting. I had known the Lord and attended church since I was a little girl, but it wasn't until 2003, in my mid-thirties that I witnessed an elderly woman prophesying over another sister-in-Christ. To me, it started out as a day of excitement and anticipation. I was hungry and thirsty for more of God and didn't know what to expect at a prayer meeting, other than there would be a short teaching, which would then lead into a prayer. Up to this point for a year-and-a-half, I had been reading the word of God hours a day and praying earnestly after each reading. God had to redeem the time in my life, as the power of Holy Spirit came on me Resurrection Sunday 2002, setting me free of alcoholism. My joy was full and made complete, as I experienced the washing of God's Word, and the bounty of Living Waters in my belly. It was then that I wanted to pour the abundant Life I possessed upon others but didn't know how. I couldn't put words to it, or never knew what “it” was that I was looking for. The teaching at the meeting had ended, and the women began to pray. About ten minutes into prayer, I witnessed the gift of prophecy. My heart leapt with joy, as prayer and prophecy continued throughout. At the end of the meeting, I spontaneously erupted “WHAT WAS THAT?” The women explained that it was the gift of prophecy. Caught in the afterglow of such powerful prayer and prophecy, I then blurted, “I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT ALL OF MY LIFE!” I didn't know that this was the “it” I was looking for as a Christian. I'd known the Word of Truth for years, but somehow my eyes were covered from seeing 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 with the gifts of Holy Spirit. I desired prophecy all my life as a Christian, how could I not.  All through high school I was a football cheerleader. It made my heart content, running up and down the field cheering the football players on, to win the game. I love edifying others, and to me, prophecy is cheerleading the saints. The Greek word for gift is pneumatikós pronounced pnyoo-mat-ik-os meaning, “ethereal, supernatural, and spiritual.” [i] Ethereal means that which is beyond the clouds and is heavenly. The gifts of God came to mankind on Pentecost at the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, prophesied in Joel 2. 28 “And afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. 29 Even upon the menservants and upon the maidservants in those days will I pour out My Spirit.” Joel 2:28-29 AMPC The Holy Spirit, Who is at the Throne of God as seven torches of Fire, does not speak His own message, but only what the Father says. (See Revelation 4:5; John 16:13) Thus, this gift of prophecy is God's grace by the Holy Spirit at operation inside of us, to speak edification according to the need. Jesus teaches the disciples how to pray in Luke 11, saying “give us this day our daily bread.” (See Luke 11:3) Immediately after the Lord's prayer, Jesus depicts what the bread represents. He describes a man who had need of bread, since he had visitors over at his house. He then goes to a friend's house to ask for bread at midnight and knocks on his door. The friend tells him to leave because it was late, and his children were sleeping. That didn't stop the guy from knocking on the door, and finally the friend got up and gave him as much as he “needed.” Jesus then goes on to explain that we are to keep asking, seeking, and knocking, and the Father will open the door to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit. (See Luke 11:5-13) There are times in your life when you need a personal cheerleader, you need to be edified. Moreover, there are times that you will come across others who need to be edified. In such times, the Lord God supplies us with grace to ask, seek, and knock on the door and the gift of the Holy Spirit will be poured out to bring forth the edification needed in prophecy. Prophecy in Greek is prophēteía pronounced prof-ay-ti'-ah meaning, “prophecy, prediction, and prophesying.” [ii] Prediction comes from the Latin word praedicere meaning “make known beforehand.” The Latin word for prediction is spelled P.R.A.E.D.I.C.E.R.E. As I saw the Latin word for prediction, I couldn't help but see PRAED as PRAYED, and icere as I C (see). In John 16:13 Jesus states that the Holy Spirit will show us things to come. He will show us what to pray. Through prayer, we will feel a lifting in our heart, being filled with joy and excitement that God is up to something. By faith as we open our mouth and pray forth, we shall prophesy! This is the power of God's grace in His beautiful gift of prophecy. The gift of prophecy edifies. The word edify in Greek is oikodomḗ pronounced oy-kod-om-ay' meaning, “architecture, confirmation, building, edify, and edification.” [iii] Thus, edification builds people up, confirming what God has placed within them, defeating the powers of darkness that would assail them with lies. A great analogy of this beautiful gift and what takes place in the invisible realm is in Song of Solomon 6. 12 “Before I was aware [of what was happening], my desire [to roam about] had brought me into the area of the princes of my people [the king's retinue]. 13 [I began to flee, but they called to me] Return, return, O Shulammite; return, return, that we may look upon you! [I replied] What is there for you to see in the [poor little] Shulammite? [And they answered] As upon a dance before two armies or a dance of Mahanaim.” Song of Solomon 6:12-13 AMPC The Shulammite is hungry to know the King, who is the Good Shepherd. She's so caught up in knowing Him that she doesn't realize the power that has come through her, in their love. As the daughters of Jerusalem go after her to behold her beauty, the Shulammite asks them “what is there to look at.” Their response is that when we see you, we see the dance of Mahanaim, which means THE DANCE OF TWO ARMIES. In other words, the love relationship you have with the King, has given you the authority of two armies. That is the power of prayer and the gift of prophecy. One can send a thousand to flight, but two can send ten thousand to flight. This gift of prophecy encourages you and others, bringing a fresh anointing of the Lord's hope and future. (See Jeremiah 29:11-13) Where is it that you or someone you know needs hope? Seek God and desire to prophesy! [i] Strong J. (1890) Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, Abingdon Press. God has so many awesome things in store for us, His thoughts toward us are innumerable, (see Psalm 139) and His plans for us are good! (See Jeremiah 29:11) However, as mentioned in the introduction, this brings us to our first if/then scenario. If we seek Him, we will find Him! If we humble ourselves, He will lift us up! (See Jeremiah 29:23 & 1 Peter 5:6) Many of the things we will face during our journeys as believers have quite simple solutions. We just have to be willing to do them. For example, before getting born again, or receiving our salvation, it was the Holy Spirit who convicted us of sin and showed us our need for a savior. It takes a simple act of humility on our part to say yes to that call and receive the gift that Jesus died to provide us, with eternal life! After getting born again, it is the same Holy Spirit who then comes to live with us and in us, continually teaching, training, convicting, and pointing us to Jesus. Each time He deals with our hearts on a matter, it will once again require a simple act of humility as a first step to receiving what He is trying to get to us and in us. We will never outgrow the need to humble ourselves. This is why the apostle Paul wrote, “I die daily.” This is why Jesus told us to take up our cross daily and follow Him. Daily dying to pride, to jealousy, to hate, to sinful desires, to selfishness, etc. These are the things that stop the blessing of God in our life and these are the things that the Holy Spirit will deal with each one of us about. Our first priority? To humble ourselves, recognizing we are poor in spirit, and in need of Him to fill us, teach us, and provide for us. It is a lifelong journey, but one that should we learn to be humble, listen, and obey will reward us for all eternity!

The Bible says it is very difficult for a rich person to enter the kingdom of Heaven.  Why is that?  Because they have a difficult time seeing their need, they are wealthy, healthy, and whole in their eyes and in need of very little. Many of us are raised to believe that with hard work and dedication, we can achieve the impossible and while a solid work ethic and discipline are paramount to achieving many of our goals, this won't cut it concerning our salvation.  We cannot earn, buy, achieve, or deserve our salvation, it is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8,9 tells us this truth.“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.”Listen, being poor in spirit doesn't have anything to do with money, but rather our attitudes regarding the Lord, His word, and the Spirit of God in our lives. Being poor in spirit, simply put, is recognizing our daily need of Him.  Therefore, in order to receive from God his plan of salvation for our lives, we must humble ourselves, recognizing we are poor in spirit and in dire need of a savior, Jesus! This is not only the first step to receiving salvation but also the first step to accomplishing anything in the Lord after salvation occurs, humbling ourselves.  To humble ourselves does not mean we must grovel at the feet of God or think less of ourselves.  It involves positioning ourselves under His Word, under His mighty hand, on a daily basis, trusting that He has the best for us and is willing and able to take care of us. This is what God wants from us, what He desires. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” God has so many awesome things in store for us, His thoughts toward us are innumerable, (see Psalm 139) and His plans for us are good! (See Jeremiah 29:11)

Scripture and Questions for Study and Reflection: Read Jeremiah 1: 4-9. 1. How do God's words to Jeremiah make you feel? Do you believe these words, in general, also apply to you? To what role(s) has God “appointed” you? 2. In Pastor Mick's address to the graduates, he cautioned them about the advice to “follow your heart.” Why do we need to be cautious about following our hearts? (See Jeremiah 17:9 and Matthew 15:19.) 3. The phrase “You do you” has become quite popular in recent times. In what ways can this be good advice and in what ways can it be bad advice? 4. Pastor Mick shared with the graduates that the process of “becoming” who God created us to be can sometimes be quite awkward. What do you think he meant by that? Are there times that this is still awkward for you in your life? 5. Read Jeremiah 6: 16. Is this still good advice in our day and age? If so, how can we help others do it? 6. Pastor Mick said, “Don't follow your heart. Follow Jesus.” What did he mean by that? How did it initially make you feel to hear him say, “Don't follow your heart”? 7. In what ways does the advice given to graduates also apply to us at every stage of our lives? Prayer for the Week: Gracious and loving God, be with all of us on our journey through life. Be with us as we are in the process of becoming all that you created us to be. Today we ask that you especially be with our graduates. Help them to take the next faithful step in their lives. Guide them along the path you want them to walk. Help them become all that you created them to be, by transforming them a little more into the image of Jesus every day. Help them to know that they are loved beyond measure and that your Church has their back. Help all of us to put our words into action so that we might advance your kingdom right here on earth. We pray all of this in the precious, holy and strong name of Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, now and forever. Amen.

126 – Nothing can ever separate you from GodHave you ever heard someone say, "Sin separates us from God?"This idea goes all the way back to the story of Adam and Eve when they got kicked out of the Garden of Eden. And it shows up lots of places in the Bible. For example in Isaiah:Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.  But your    iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.     Isaiah 59:1, 2And in the New Testament, the man who had been born blind and was healed by Jesus, tells the Pharisees, "We know God doesn't listen to sinners." (John 9:31  NLT)But if God doesn't listen to sinners, we are all in trouble.Fortunately, the Bible also gives lots of examples when God does listen to sinners, proving that we are not separated from Him, even when we make mistakes or something bad happens.Kind David, who committed some pretty serious sins, could still say in Psalms:Where can I go from Your Spirit?Or where can I flee from Your presence?”If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, [Sheol] behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning,And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,Even there Your hand shall lead me,And Your right hand shall hold me.     Psalm 139:7-10David knew he could never be separated from God.What Isaiah and others are saying is that when you sin, you feel separated from God, but David reassures us that God is still with us, whatever the circumstances. To get at the heart of this issue, we need to understand the nature of God.The prophet Jeremiah records God revealing that He is everywhere. (See Jeremiah 23:23, 24)Since God is everywhere, there is no place you can go where God is not already present. The more we grasp this, the more we will understand that we can never be separated from God.In this episode, I also talk aboutFeeling separated from God when others sin against youGod rebuking the belief that you have to suffer (or be separated from Him) because of someone else's sinsPaul's declaration that we live, move, and have our being in GodJesus's prayer that reveals our inseparability from GodPaul's promise that nothing can separate us from God's loveMy prayer for you is that you embrace you unbreakable relationship with God. James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster. He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys, and they also had thirty towns.a. Israel turned away from the Lord, again doing evil in the sight of the Lord (10:6)b. The Lord brought in a foreign power; He sold Israel into the hands of the Philistines and the people of Ammon, who harassed and oppressed them (10:7)c. The people repented and cried out to the Lord, saying, "We have sinned against You because we have forsaken our God and served the Baals." (10:10)d. The Lord raised up Jephthah to deliver them (11:29)e. The land was at rest under the judge and the people were once again following the Lord until the death of the judge (12:7).The children of Israel acknowledged their sin, put away the foreign gods, and served the Lord.DISCUSS/CONSIDERThere are a number of times when God's patience with His people ran out. See Judges 10:14; Genesis 6:3; 1 Peter 3:20; and Luke 13:34. This could be true for the unbeliever, and also for the believer. For the unbeliever, "Now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthian 6:2). Don't delay in receiving Christ as your Savior. As for the believer, there are many ways in which the patience of God is tried, mostly by self-centeredness rather than God-centeredness. Are you trying the patience of God?"God's soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel" (10:16). O, the mercy and love of God! The children of Israel acknowledged their sin, put away the foreign gods and served the Lord. When people truly repent from their sin, there's no limit to God's love. Remember the story of the prodigal (Luke 15). How are you letting people know about the love and mercy of God?CHALLENGEDon't make God your last resort. People today try every other god and everything else before God. Only when disaster comes, some finally turn to the Lord. Christ is waiting to receive those who repent. See Jeremiah 2:13. What would you say is the great effort of your life? The Jews were waiting for God to put things right. To this day, Jewish people wait for their nation to be justified. They're waiting on God to provide a Savior. Paul here uses promise language to describe how we wait for the hope of things being put right, too. We want to be made right. God is working to bring people to himself. And when we trust Jesus, he gives us a down-payment in the Holy Spirit who comes to live in us.   Paul contrasts our faith to that of some Galatians who wanted to continue to obey the Jewish laws. He reminds us that when we begin to live in the power of the Holy Spirit, we eagerly wait. Our waiting is not bored or passive, but eager. We wait to receive by faith the ideal, perfect, relationship with God that has been promised to us. We will experience that in perfection one day. And it will be sooner than we think.   This waiting expects. We expect God to make us right. We also know that today, we see God when we look for him. God is working, but we only see him working when we expectantly look for it. (See Jeremiah 29:13). Our expectations determine how much we see God. People who don't trust Jesus believe we are manufacturing this hope. But it is only when we expect, that we see God working. The faith to believe and the patience to trust produce this expectation.    Today at work, this expectation can bear fruit, but the real reward will come one of these days. We will be made right. Are you expectantly waiting? I want to live my life as one who expectantly waits. I believe that means that I lay up treasure, by being the kind of person Jesus wants me to be, and by loving his people the way he did. Ask God today how he would like you go to work, and how to interact with others. God will use your life to draw people to himself. Think about what we have to look forward to, and use that as motivation.

The title of this article is a provocative question. It was meant to be confrontational and challenge long-held ideas, but it will end on a positive note. Sometimes you have to dismantle some things to build them up correctly. Old run down buildings will have to be gutted to fix them up. Construction often begins with destruction of the old before something new and beautiful can be built. Spiritually, that is sometimes required. (See Jeremiah 1:10.) Plowing always comes before planting, watering, and harvest. Consider this article plowing, so that the seed of God’s words can be sown, and a mighty harvest can be produced! (See Isaiah 28:24-29, Mark 4:14-20.) Many quote the words in the book of Hebrews, "I will never leave you or forsake you"(Hebrews 13:5). Jesus said at His ascension, "I am with you always"(Mathew 28:20). He also taught us in John 14:16 that the Helper or Advocate (the Holy Spirit) would be with us forever (John 14:16). These are glorious and powerful truths, and I treasure them. As blessed as these promises are, they do not stand-alone or exist without context, accountability, or zero responsibility. The way many Christians use these promises leaves a very wrong impression. Most Christians believe that the presence of the Lord will continue with a person regardless of their persistently wrong lifestyle of sin. I am not referring to you if you sin as a believer and repent of your sin according to Luke 13:3, 5 and 1 John 1:9. On those occasions, we have the grace or provision of God in the blood of Jesus available to us. I am not referring to the follower of Jesus that may sin, but the sin is not their lifestyle. I am specifically referring to those that have made sin a lifestyle even though they call themselves Christians. That is my question. Will the Lord abide with Christians forever even if they are practicing lawlessness? Let’s study this.  According to Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus will tell those practicing lawlessness to depart from Him because He never knew them.  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" Matthew 7:21-23 NET)  What does that mean? The Lord will say those terrible words of rejection to the practitioners of lawlessness, even though at one time they were used miraculously. How did the Lord use them miraculously? Obviously, these were at one time followers of the Lord Jesus, but later in life, they followed a path of breaking God’s moral laws. I know that this does not fit in with much of modern theology evangelical Christianity, but Jesus said that. Are we going to believe His words or man-made theological ideas? Do you know that we have numerous biblical examples of those that started out with God, but began practicing lawlessness, and finally wound up in the “dung heap.”  Judas Iscariot is a case in point. He began as an anointed disciple of Jesus sent by the Master to heal the sick and to cast out demons. (See Matthew 10:1-8.) He was a minister anointed to do a supernatural work on behalf of the Lord. Judas Iscariot actually walked in supernatural power for a time. Something changed in him. In the process of time, Judas turned to covetousness and theft, and betrayed the Lord Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Judas finished his life by committing suicide. He died in his sin. (See Acts 1:15-19; Matthew 27:3-10.) He will be one of those mentioned by Jesus in the passage quoted above. Judas will one day stand before the Lord and attempt to use his past supernatural ministry as an excuse to be accepted, but the Lord will reject him with those terrible words, “I never knew you; depart from me.” He died as a practitioner of lawlessness, and for eternity he will perish away from the presence of the Lord. (See 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9.)  Something is way off with our charismatic, evangelical, and protestant theology if we think that Christians practicing lawlessness can enjoy God’s presence now, or if they die in their sin without repentance. Judas didn’t get away with it, and he won’t get away with it at the judgment! He will be rejected for eternity. According to Jesus, believers that die being practitioners of lawlessness will be rejected. That is a Bible principle, but it also applies to this life... From the Back Cover: A Call to Return—Restoring the Roots of Our Relationship with Jesus explores the depths of the Scriptures to excavate, refine, and lift up its words of power, revealing deep truths that will radically change the lives of believers. By tapping into this rich vein of biblical insight, Dan Alan Rodriguez offers Christians the insights to enable them to set out upon paths of discipleship that follow Jesus closely and that lead to profound experiences of His presence and power. Drawing upon the author’s study of first-century Judaism and Christianity and resting upon a diverse array of sources steeped in the foundational texts of these traditions, the twelve chapters of A Call to Return address a series of interlocking topics: a prophetic call to return; the revival of lawlessness; the revival, purpose, and preexistence of God’s commandments; the church’s commandments and their connections to faith, grace, and good works; the association of works of the law to Jewish tradition and ceremony; holiness; the fear of the Lord; each believer as a temple of the holy; and the meaning of loving the Lord Jesus. If you have a sense that Jesus’s message and ministry are calling you to embark upon a walk with Him that might take you away from all in Christianity that requires no accountability or responsibility before God, then A Call to Return—Restoring the Roots of Our Relationship with Jesus is the right book for you to read. Be mightily blessed! ____________ Faith that Receives the Grace of God is so important for you and me right now! There is an abundance of strange teaching in the area of grace. Grace has become for many a proposition "sin all you want without accountability", and a "do-nothing to receive from God." Grace for many is a rejection of Biblical moral commandments, and for others it is a denial of the words of Jesus. Grace, when it is in its right place Scripturally, is beautiful, abundant, and powerful, but it can be misused and misapplied. Unfortunately, grace is often taught wrongly. Instead of amazing grace, it has become gross, devilish, pseudo “grease” and not the Blood-bought-grace taught in the New Testament! This book was written so the Biblical perspective on faith and grace could be clearly presented by using verses in their context and according to the intent of the writers of the New Testament.   Many say, “All hands on deck” when they want everybody involved and responsive. For our purposes, I’ll say, “All EARS on deck!” Jesus said what follows as He finished preaching and teaching on the great parable of the sower. “Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement [that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom] it will be measured to you [and you will be given even greater ability to respond]—and more will be given to you besides.” (Mark 4:24 AMP) If the disciples would pay close attention to what they heard, then God would show them more. That is my prayer for you right now. May you listen closely and may more be given to you from the Lord. Following is a warning from God for ALL nations. It includes the United States of America. It was not a warning only for Israel and Jerusalem. Notice that it is God speaking, so, “ALL EARS ON DECK!” 7There are times, … when I (God) threaten to uproot, tear down, and destroy a nation or kingdom. 8 But if that nation I threatened stops doing wrong, I will cancel the destruction I intended to do to it. 9 And there are times when I promise to build up and establish a nation or kingdom. 10 But if that nation does what displeases me and does not obey me, then I will cancel the good I promised to do to it. 11 So now, … The LORD says, ‘I am preparing to bring disaster on you! I am making plans to punish you. So, every one of you, stop the evil things you have been doing. Correct the way you have been living and do what is right. 12 But they just keep saying, ‘We do not care what you say! We will do whatever we want to do! We will continue to behave wickedly and stubbornly! (Jeremiah 18:7-12 NET) America’s founding fathers wanted to build a country that was “one nation under God.” America has swerved from that original intent. So many Americans no longer serve God, and many others have a deep hatred of anything Christian that upholds a Bible based morality.  Many scorn God’s holy moral guidelines in Scripture that call for marriage to be between one biological male and one biological female, and the Biblical call for holiness in body and spirit. The false prophets on mainstream media, in Hollywood, sports, false teachers in schools and colleges, these have spread their poison of moral looseness and depravity. Many think fornications, having multiple sexual partners, adulterous relationships, homosexuality, violence, murder of the unborn (abortions), cursing and “cussing,” and much worse are just “who we are” as a society. No, it is what society has become because they heeded the false prophets and have refused to listen to God and His Word. (See Jeremiah 5:31, 14:14; Lamentations 2:14; Matthew 7:15, 24:11, 24; 2 Peter 2:1.) We see the moral looseness (lawlessness) portrayed by self-righteous Hollywood in most of its movies. They are not, and never have been the moral compass for this nation. To the contrary, most of Hollywood is a cesspool of wickedness and rebellion towards God, but they are not alone. We see the depravity displayed during Spring break, carnivals, concerts, parties… and the list could go on for a very long time. It looks hopeless, but is it? Is liberty tolerating such things, and is it a sign of progressive thinking? No, it is a sign of decay and, finally, death. The wages of sin are still death. (Romans 6:23) Real liberty is serving God according to His Word and living in a country (America) that has bestowed rights on each citizen according to its Constitution and Amendments. Don’t believe the lies of the revisionist left that denies the clear truth of the deeply religious nature and beliefs of the founding fathers of our country. Our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence came from the minds and hearts of, almost unanimously, committed believers. (1) Where is America as a nation right now? Are we humbling ourselves, praying, and repudiating (repenting of) our evil ways as a nation, or are we stubbornly falling into the “I don’t care what God or the Bible says about it” attitude of lawlessness? 11b So, every one of you, stop the evil things you have been doing. Correct the way you have been living and do what is right. 12 But they just keep saying, "We do not care what you say! We will do whatever we want to do! We will continue to behave wickedly and stubbornly!" (Jeremiah 18:11b, 12 NET) The last two sentences of what God said about it really speaks to America and many countries of the world. Many don’t care about what God says. They want to keep doing their wickedness with impunity. Many want to continue to behave wickedly and stubbornly, and they flaunt it all over TV, in movies, over the internet, and on social media! Is it possible to change what is happening in America? Let’s see a Bible example of a nation that changed. Nineveh was a wicked city, possibly, the most wicked city in its day. God threatened it with total annihilation. Jonah was sent to preach repentance to the city. Fortunately for them, they heeded the word of the Lord and repented in sackcloth and ashes. 4Jonah began to enter the city by going one day’s walk, announcing, “At the end of forty days, Nineveh will be overthrown! 5 The people of Nineveh believed in God, and they declared a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. 6 When the news reached the king of Nineveh, he got up from his throne, took off his royal robe, put on sackcloth, and sat on ashes. 7 He issued a proclamation and said, “In Nineveh, by the decree of the king and his nobles: No human or animal, cattle or sheep, is to taste anything; they must not eat and they must not drink water. 8 Every person and animal must put on sackcloth and must cry earnestly to God, and everyone must turn from their evil way of living and from the violence that they do. 9 Who knows? Perhaps God might be willing to change his mind and relent and turn from his fierce anger so that we might not die.” 10 When God saw THEIR actions—that they turned from their evil way of living.—God relented concerning the judgment he had threatened them with and did not destroy them. (Jonah 3:4-10 NET) They put into practice exactly what the Lord God told Jeremiah! What happened? God cancelled the judgment he had threatened them with! Notice, that it came to head in Nineveh when the leader (king) of the nation PUBLICLY called for fasting, prayer, and turning away from wickedness and violence. God heard and saw from heaven their actions as they turned away from their evil living, and He stopped the destruction planned for them. (See also 2 Chronicles 7:13, 14.) That is a Word for America! On March 6, 1798, President Adams called for a national day of fasting and prayer for the country could "call to mind our numerous offenses against the most high God, confess them before Him with the sincerest penitence, implore his pardoning mercy, through the Great Mediator and Redeemer, for our past transgression, and that through the grace of His Holy Spirit, we may be disposed and enabled to yield a more suitable obedience. . ." (2) It is time for governmental leaders, at the White House, in Congress and the House, and also from pulpits and the congregations, to call for national repentance, prayer, and fasting so that destruction can be stopped by the hand of Almighty God. Repentance started among the populace in Nineveh, but when the leader (king) stood up and called for national fasting, prayer, and repentance was when things were taken to another level. Then, and only then, God saw THEIR actions. It wasn’t the people alone, and it wasn’t the leader alone. The leader and the people repented, and God saw it and responded. May our leaders declare it for America again. May our country come back to God and the Lord Jesus. May a national repentance revolution take place. Amen! ________________________________ Notes:  (1) The leftist revisionists are attempting to rewrite history by denying the deeply religious nature of the founding fathers of our country. Revelation 2:18-29 Series: Just Conquer #8 # Introduction We don't have a Jezebel in our church. No one should actually name their daughter Jezebel anyway, but even in a symbolic way, we don't have any Jezebels. The church in Thyatira did. And like Ahab's wife, this woman led at least some of those among God's people into trusting gods who aren't really gods and into sexual sin that wasn't really satisfying. We don't have any self-identified prophetesses among us, but that doesn't mean we have nothing to learn from this first-century message from Jesus. Jesus' words to the church in Thyatira (2:18-29) is similar to His words to the church in Pergamum (2:12-17). In both churches there was false teaching, in both cases the church was too easy on the false teachers. At least the Ephesians tested those who taught among them and exercised discretion (2:2), though, of course, the Ephesians had a lovelessness problem (2:4). But again, the Pergamumites and the Thyatirans seem to have similar issues. What's different is the *reason* why the false teaching took hold in each city. In Pergamum, the Christians were tempted to indulge themselves according to Balaamite and Nicolaitan teaching for civic reasons. Pergamum loved and lauded the Roman Emperor, and failing to acknowledge the idols could be taken for a type of treason. In Thyatira, though, failing to acknowledge the idols was *bad for business*. Thyatira was mostly in the middle of nowhere, at least compared to the seaport cities. It didn't have any geographical defenses, like being built on a high hill. It was more like an outpost, a “garrison town” (Osborne), one of the first places to be attacked, so one of the places most frequently rebuilt. Rebuilding is good for business. There is evidence of a variety of goods and services, and in particular, of different guilds, with inscriptions discovered for “woolworkers, linen-workers, tanners, potters, bakers, slave-dealers and bronze-smiths” (Mounce). You may remember “Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods” who believed Paul's preaching when visiting Philippi (Acts 16:14). Each guild had a patron god, and that god required honor and provided social glue. In order to be in the union, you had to pay the dues. Enter Jezebel. She claimed to speak for God, and her message from God was that it was more than just okay to pay the dues to economic idols, it was actually an expression to show how close one was to the true God. Some of those in the church embraced her message, because it is the kind of message that goes down easily. If it didn't tickle the ears, it certainly padded the wallet. Jesus was, and is, having none of it. One word that summarizes their problems: *worldliness*. They behaved like this world, and the things in the world, were important to have, even if it meant reinterpreting the truth for God's sake. Jesus calls the Thyatirans to just conquer worldliness, and the Spirit calls us all to hear the message. # The All-Knowing One (verse 18) A few things stand out in this identification of Jesus to the Thyatirans. First, these words are **of the Son of God**, which is the only time this title is used for Jesus in the book of Revelation. It is also the only title given in the identifications in these messages to the churches; even the rest in verse 18 are descriptions. It may be that **the Son of God** emphasizes that there is only *one*, because the “guardian deity” of Thyatira was Apollo Tyrimnos, the son of Zeus (Mounce). That Jesus has **eyes like a flame of fire** emphasizes His piercing vision (see 1:14, from Daniel 10:6), a fact which is stated explicitly in verse 23. His **feet are like burnished bronze** (see 1:15), and this seems to connect to the metallurgy in the city as well as a military image of brass slender and strength. # The Worldly Ones (verses 19-25) ## Praise (verse 19) There is significant good, though if measured by proportion of attention the good is not a high percentage. > **I know your works, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first.** Their **works** bookend the affirmation. In between are four things, and the first two (**love and faith**) may be the internal motivations while the final two (**service and patient endurance**) may be the external evidences. The Ephesians had patient endurance, but they did *not* have love. The Thyatirans didn't just have first works motivated by first love, their love and works got *better*: **your latter works exceed the first**. Length of time as a Christian doesn't automatically diminish energy for the life of a disciple. It also doesn't guarantee that there won't be any issues. ## Rebuke (verses 20-23) Jesus' rebuke is grave. > **But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.** Toleration has limits, because toleration is not a virtue by itself. Toleration is only a virtue when we know *what* to tolerate, *why* we are to tolerate, and *who said* we should. God is our Who, and He gives us the why and the what. And He does *not* tolerate worship of other gods from those who claim to be worshipping Him, He does not tolerate anyone seeking satisfaction apart from Him, and He does not tolerate anyone who teaches that the first two are tolerable to God. This **Jezebel** was probably not named Jezebel; this is a nickname (let's say it was like her Instagram handle). The point of using the name is to remind everyone about the archetype Jezebel, Ahab's bitter-peach of a wife, who coaxed others to idolatry by killing them if they wouldn't join in. This lady in Thyatira was in the church, not just a pagan oracle, and had gained a hearing. She was teaching something similar to that in Pergamum, but again, it seems that the **seducing** found a willing audience who *wanted* a reason to get drunk and hook up at the office Christmas party. She said she had a message from God, what she really had was an easy audience. Jesus continued: > **I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, and I will strike her children dead.** Who told her to repent (and go home)? How long ago had she received the call? Who knows. What's clear is that she committed herself to her sin. And since her sin took place on a bed, her judgment would be *contrapasso*, fitting to her sin. Instead of a bed of passion, Jesus said, **I will throw her onto a sickbed**, and the sickness may have been a sickness to death. For those who **commit adultery with her**, it wasn't physical, because this is what she was *teaching*, not what she was offering. She was a prophetess, not a prostitute. This **adultery** was spiritual adultery, and Jesus will **throw** them **into great tribulation**. The **children** appear to be those who don't merely listen to Jezebel, but those who are of similar nature. They are so given to worldliness that they aren't called to repent, Jesus will **strike** them **dead**. The teaching they thought would get them *out* of suffering was plunging them into it. This righteous judgment will make a point around the region. > **And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.** Numerous times the Lord warned His people in the OT that if they didn't obey Him, He would judge them such that people's ears would tingle when they heard about it. **All the churches will know**. What they will **know** is that God knows what they couldn't know, that is, He knows the motivations. But God's judgment is based on what the others could also see, which is the **works** that come out of the motivations. Jesus is **he who searches the mind and heart**, belonging with His "eyes like a flame of fire." In the original message the organs are mentioned, the *kidneys* and the hearts, which together referred to the inside workings of a man's wants and will and thinking. The Lord's judgment is according to the evidence, and He has the authority to make that judgment, along with the capacity to decide what **deserves** what. (See Jeremiah 17:10.) Next Jesus moves to those who were tolerating the worldliness and the promotion of worldliness. > **But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not learned what some call the deep things of Satan, to you I say, I do not lay on you any other burden. Only hold fast what you have until I come.** The **deep things of Satan** may or may not be what Jezebel and her offspring called it. There is question about the **some** who are calling it. If it is Jezebel's brood, they may have claimed that Christians could learn about, even get intimate with, Satan's things just to demonstrate that Satan had no power over them. That idea itself is from the pit. The **rest** weren't buying it. But it was costly for them not to buy it. Though Jesus doesn't talk about their poverty and tribulation like He did to the Smyrnaeans, this was a **burden**. Not agreeing to go along with the guildings, not joining the idol unions, meant carrying a heavy weight. Jezebel's teaching had a market: those who wanted to work and buy and sell in the market. Jesus says that resistance was enough of a burden for them, and to **hold fast what you have until I come.** # The Conquering One (verses 26-29) In the previous three messages the call to hear comes first and then the promise. Now the promise comes first and then the call to hear, and this pattern continues for the final four churches. > **The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my father.** It is always the **one who conquers**, and that is always the faithful Christian, not a subset of über-Christian. This one who conquers is overcoming the temptation to listen to teaching that allows, or even promotes, worldliness to be more comfortable in the world. As the judgment is apropos for one's works, the promise is also fitting for one's conquering. Jesus takes the promise that the LORD makes to His Son (so “Son of God”) in Psalm 2:8-9 about defeating the rebel nations and extends the promise to the one conquering. Later in Revelation this nation-ruling is done by Jesus. > From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. (Revelation 19:15–16, see also Revelation 12:5) Not just Jesus, but Jesus **will give (to him) authority over the nations**. This is *not* the success of the gospel, this is a crushing of those who didn't accept the gospel. This isn't a brokenness of repentance, but a full defeat, **as when earthen pots are broken in pieces**. Pots don't recover from that. JustConquer promise #4: those who overcome the burden of resisting worldliness will be given rule over the world. Christians who miss out on opportunities now for sake of faithfulness to Christ's name will be given greater opportunities by Christ later. So JustConquer. A second promised is: **And I will give him the morning star**, which seems to be a reference to Himself (see Revelation 22:16). The **morning star** is also a description of Venus, and Venus was the presiding planet/goddess of the Roman emperors as represented on Roman banners (Osborne). Jesus reigns better. **He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.** # Conclusion Worldliness is a constant threat, because the ruler of this present darkness is no friend to the faith. Hold fast what you have until He comes. This living by faith thing is for real. In the resurrection we will not only have bodies raised in glory and power (1 Corinthians 15:43), we will be raised to reign with Him (2 Timothy 2:12, 1 Corinthians 6:2-3). Conquering like Christ is being more than conquerers no matter tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or sword. But that burden, of not being conquered by worldliness, will lead to international relevance. Let love and works keep getting better, and let not your hearts be troubled (John 14:27). -------------------- ## Charge Paul told the believing brothers that if we are children of God then we are heirs, "heirs of God and fellow with Christ" (Romans 8:17a). What has the Father promised the Son? The defeat of every enemy and all things in subjection to the Son, every nation included. If we suffer with Him, we will also be glorified with Him (Romans 8:17b). Don't let the state of the world get you down; this is not the final state. ## Benediction: > Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen. (Romans 16:25–27, ESV)

Learning to accurately distinguish the leading of the Holy Spirit is perhaps the greatest challenge we can face. Abiding in the Lord and maintaining a living connection with Him begins with hearing and obeying Him. God told Israel to obey His written Word and His voice. (See Jeremiah 7:23.)

Sunday December 9, 2018Matthew 15:10-20What I Practice: Self-control - I have the power through Christ to control myself.Titus 2:11-13: For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope-the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.Self-control- is all about doing the right thing and not doing the wrong thing. The dictionary defines the word self-control this way "to exercise restraint over one's own impulses, emotions, or desires." From a human perspective the lowest form of maturity is functioning out of feelings. From a biblical point of view, Christians with self-control bring their beliefs, practices, and values into conformity with the standard set by God's word-external pressures, internal inclinations and feelings notwithstanding.Scripture: Matthew 15:10-20 10 And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” 12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?” 13 He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15 But Peter said to him, “Explain the parable to us.” 16 And he said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled? 18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”The Message of this Passage: At the heart of this scripture passage lies a proverb: "It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out" (Mt. 15:10). Jesus often coined short sayings or proverbs that shed light on specific situations. Here Jesus counters the Pharisees' criticism of his disciples for not following their rituals for pre-meal hand washing. Implied is a broader criticism on their part against Jesus and his disciples for not observing their rules for what one could and could not do on the Sabbath and for associating with those they viewed as unclean. This saying of Jesus about what defiles is a paradoxical proverb, meant to challenge the way we habitually look at things. Conventional wisdom, usually puts good behavior with good results. "A penny saved is a penny earned" (Prov. 11:28b). Also conventional wisdom usually puts foolish behavior with destructive results, as in the contemporary proverb: "Garbage in, garbage out." A biblical example is: "Those who trust in their riches will wither" (Prov.11:28a).But Jesus' proverbs at times combines something we would normally view as good with not so good results. "Those who want to save their life will lose it." "Whoever wants to be first must be last." He also combines what we would view as negative with positive results. "Those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it." Our proverb from today's passage is one such paradoxical proverb. These proverbs shake up our conventional worldview and point us toward a more biblical worldview. Which produces faithful attitudes and actions.Jesus offers us this proverb for the same purpose that he offered it to his first century listeners. He invites us to look at our lives and do an honest heart-assessment. Our true nature and intentions are reflected by what is going in our hearts. Our hearts represent what we think, feel and act about everything that goes on around us. The way in which we communicate what is going on in our hearts is through our words. Jesus is hitting the point hard because He wants for us to understand that our hearts are what need to be examined, refined and changed in order for us to truly live a life that honors God.Answering Interpretive Questions:Out of a man’s heart proceeds many evil thoughts. What are ways that evil thoughts get into our hearts. (See Jeremiah 17:9, Galatians 5:19-21)How can you tell what is stored in your heart? (See Luke 6:45)God made a way for us to keep our hearts, which are desperately wicked, pure. Think about what it takes to keep your heart pure. (See John 17:17, 1 John 1:8-10)Read Matthew 15:10-14. What did Jesus tell the crowd makes a person unclean? The mouth is the more dominant revealer of internal pollution, because it is through our words that hatred, deception, cruelty, blasphemy and most other evils are most clearly revealed. What does your mouth reveal to you. How would others view the way you talk. How did Jesus tell his disciples to feel about or respond to those who don't accept the truth? Why won’t external rules and rituals, or “no amount of washing”, solve the problem? 15:11 (What is the only solution? Titus 3:5,6)What is the real source of what defiles a man? 15:18,19Note what is first on the list in 15:19. Why do you think Jesus started there? (See Mark 7:21,22 for another list.)How did Jesus answer the Pharisees question? 15:20If you believed this how would you act?The world sees committed Christians and churches, but very little activity that can only be explained in terms of God’s activity.

What I Practice: Self-control - I have the power through Christ to control myself.Titus 2:11-13 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. The dictionary defines the word self-control this way "to exercise restraint over one's own impulses, emotions, or desires." From a human perspective the lowest form of maturity is functioning out of feelings. From a biblical point of view, Christians with self-control bring their beliefs, practices, and values into conformity with the standard set by God's word-external pressures, internal inclinations and feelings notwithstanding.Scripture: Matthew 15:1-14 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” 3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 5 But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” 6 he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God. 7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: 8 “ ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ” 10 And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” 12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?” 13 He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”The Message of this Passage: Jesus confronted, head on, the hypocrisy of the religious leaders who have elevated their traditions over honoring and knowing God. So Jesus confronts them and then gives them up to themselves by saying, let them alone, which means, let their own evil ways bury them. They had their chance to repent, but, the hardness of their hearts and their pride alienated them from the very thing they said they were honoring! Their traditions clouded them and their people from knowing the real God! Why such a strong stance? Because, rituals and traditions can easily become equal to or have even more authority to men than God and His Word. They can elevate what is not important over what is!Traditions can be a good way to honor God, if they come from the right place-from our sincere devotion to Christ and our desire to give Him the glory. Traditions and the theme, "we have always done it this way," can also hide the purpose of the church and neutralize the gospel. If we become over- devoted to our traditions and rituals, we will surely miss out on the possible intent of those rituals, which is seeking to glorify God. All too often, rituals become the worship and focus of a church, orienting energies upon this thing or that program. Discipleship, teaching, learning, and spiritual growth get lost or worse are absent. Instead of our faith being organic in its growth it is organized around rituals or programs.Answering Interpretive Questions:Read Matthew 15:1-9. What wrong were Jesus' disciples accused of doing? What had they done? Who made the accusation? What was Jesus' reply to the accusation?Do you ever find yourself being hypocritical in your worship? How can we keep ourselves from being hypocritical? Are traditions always bad or wrong? What do you think Jesus meant when He said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted,” (v. 13)? (See also Matthew 3:12, 13:30)Jesus is says that it is not what goes into your mouth that defiles you, rather it is what come out of your mouth that defiles you. Where does that which comes out of your mouth come from (v. 18)? (See also Luke 6:45, James 3:6)Out of a man’s heart proceeds many evil thoughts. What are ways that evil thoughts get into our hearts. (See Jeremiah 17:9, Galatians 5:19-21)How can you tell what is stored in your heart? (See Luke 6:45)God made a way for us to keep our hearts, which are desperately wicked, pure. As the world turns its back on God, look to see the push for a "false" peace to grow and to eventually take root globally. This will not be good news for the Jews or Israel and any believers who came to faith after the great catching away or the Rapture. Now is the time to receive Christ as your Savior while you have time and an open door. It will become increasingly more difficult as the return of Christ moves closer and closer to happening. DESCRIPTION: How to survive the next seven years and beyond. The year 2009 will appear to have everything in good shape; but then, in 2010, a great economic downturn. After that, a second factor – ENERGY – reshapes the landscape which later will bring about a total economic collapse. THE ECONOMY: HOW TO SURVIVE UNTIL 2015 (WITH SUGGESTIONS FOR INVESTMENTS) MUSIC  /  INTRO I want to talk to you today about the future outlook of the economy. First I will discuss the short term economic outlook, then the medium term outlook. I will discuss different aspects of the economy: where we are at and where we are going. Then, I will discuss the more important spiritual aspects: how it will affect you and what to do. On Tuesday, November 25, 2008, I shared the following information (plus more) with you on The Podcast Satellite VOICE of ISRAEL Podcast, all of which has come to pass. Here is part of what I covered in that podcast titled, “WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW IN THE ECONOMY” (from Tuesday, Nov 25, 2008): The USA is on a crash course for collision. The recent bailouts of financial and credit institutions by the United States government are only slowing down the ultimate collision. These bailouts are analogous to foam sprayed on airport runways to enable aircraft to crash land with minimal damage. There is, however, one BIG difference. The landing will NOT be easy; there will be a collision. The bailouts are only serving TWO (2) purposes:        Slowing down – delaying – the crash.      Anesthetizing the public to the UNavoidable crash. Deflation may happen before rampant inflation again … or even stag-flation (rising prices with reduction in production). Banks will probably cut interest rates to ZERO (making if FREE to borrow money) in order to curb the economy from sliding into recession. (This came to pass December 16, 2008, seven weeks later after I informed you.) In the USA the government does NOT worry about money for bailouts because the government just borrows it from our children and grandchildren. (To strap future generations with debt from paper money that they did NOT incur is outright thievery.) But the TWO THINGS the government can NOT borrow are TIME and ENERGY! NOTE: As of April 13, 2009, since the new president has been in office the USA debt is 1.25 Quadrillion dollars. (That is the same as 10 with 15 zeros behind it ... or one thousand million million ... or one million billion ... or one thousand trillion! Because the economies of the major producers in the world are inextricably connected – at least, at this time – with the US Dollar, all economies of major nations will suffer. The USA uses 25% of the world's oil but only has 2% of the known reserves. We have for years helped Saudi Arabia with military protection in exchange for oil. When the Wahhabi - Islamic fundamentalist movement overthrows the Saudi hierarchy, then the world scene will change. Today there are about 58 countries that are producing LESS oil today than they have in the past.  MUSIC SHORT TERM ECONOMIC OUTLOOK This year, 2009, will appear that things are settling out on the economic scene. Hold on! The market will probably go up again in the next three (3) to (6) months … at the latest, early 2010. When the market (the DOW) goes up to between 10,000 and 11,000 (and when real estate goes back up) SELL OUT. Convert to cash and hold it. Buy gold and silver to hedge against the US (and other countries) printing currency. Do NOT worry about how much profit you make; your goal is to hedge against severely weakened currency and / or inflation. You might want to go into commodities like oil and natural gas but NOT past the period from late 2009 to Mid 2010. And remember, give to the poor. You can allocate part of your tithe – and all of your offerings – to help those more needy than yourself.   “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will He pay him again.” (Proverb 19:17) “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” (Proverb 3:9-10) In 2010 things will start to fall apart again. The Obama stimulus package will NOT be effective past 2009. The market will take a precipice dive about the middle of 2012. Real estate may return to the year 2000 levels. Giving out money (economic stimulus packages) has never brought us out of SEVERE economic downturns. Two (2) things usually get us out of severe economic downturns:  War; or,  Long and sustained tax cuts. For the next five (5) to seven (7) years after 2009 you are in for HARD TIMES. You must pray and ask God to direct your financial activities because things will worsen up through 2013 to 2015. The housing market will bottom out late 2012 to early 2013.  Buy real estate then. Stocks are down 40% in the USA, 50% in Europe, and 70% in China. If you use gold as a standard, our market is really down 78 percent. (Gold is up over $100 since January 15th – today over $900 an ounce, the highest level in four months due to a weaker dollar.) I used to market in gold, silver, and precious metals. You need to be aware of the spot price, because commission going in PLUS commission going out PLUS the spread will equal the TOTAL of what you must overcome in order to make a profit. However, in a highly uptick market of a metal there should be no difficulty doing so. However, for a hedge against weakened (and, printed) currency, your goal is NOT necessarily to make a profit: it is for protection of your assets. We (the USA) are so far in debt, and keep printing paper money: Bailout 1, Bailout 2, and Bailout 3. Currency can only be inflationary until it DIES. It is inevitable that the US Dollar will die – so will the EURO. Be very careful if you are investing in FOREX trades. A NEW currency will evolve – a GLOBAL CURRENCY – with basis on precious metals, commodities, or real estate. Remember, in the natural (not spiritual) realm, land is the basis of all wealth. We are in Part A of a complete collapse of the ECONOMY. MEDIUM TERM ECONOMIC OUTLOOK Part B is the ENERGY CRISIS. In the early 70's over half the globe essentially didn't use any oil. The only areas that were major oil consumers were USA, Europe, a little of Japan, Canada, and former Soviet Union.  Africa, Middle East, and Asia didn't use any oil. China and India will be the LARGEST consumers of oil in the world. One third of Chinese now have driver's licenses and one out of every 5 believe they will own an automobile in the next five years. (China will be the largest automobile user in the world). MUSIC Even if everyone switched to hybrid cars, we would still be facing a MAJOR problem because in 5 to 7 years we would still be consuming the same amount of oil due to economic growth. It will take 30 to 50 years to develop hydrogen infrastructure technology for automobiles. Ethanol and bio-diesel production would only fill a small portion of what we consume today. If you want to supply 10 terawatts of energy (which is what we use today) you would have to build 10,000 of the largest nuclear power plants … and if you did that, and used U-235 uranium, the world supply would be exhausted in 10 to 20 years. So, it would only be a "bridge." Wind energy would only contribute a SMALL FRACTION of our power supply (because of its intermittency and low power density). Solar energy is the ANSWER, but the big barrier is its cost. But to meet our needs it would take a land area half the size of the state of California USA. The word wide demand for oil right now is between 25 to 30 BILLION barrels a year … and increasing! CONCLUSION: We are back to horse and buggy, hanging out laundry, and pumping water by windmills. Our grandchildren will probably never ride in an airplane. Only one-tenth of one percent of the population will be able to afford driving an automobile or flying in an airplane. It's NOT money that made the world go around in this last century, but cheap energy coming from oil in the ground. Which is more real: the financial system or the oil in the ground? ANSWER: the oil in the ground. The financial system is based upon petro dollars. This will trigger the NEXT GREAT DEPRESSION … comparable to the Great Depression of 1929 to 1934 … or GREATER. In fact, it may NOT end! WHY? Because this one is imposed by nature, rather than being a speculative bubble. Even the oil we have available now is hindered by a bottleneck of old infrastructure. Most large companies tacitly take for granted that there is a cheap supply of energy from oil. However, when that changes, the stock market crashes. The companies are overvalued. Every day we use two (2) billion more barrels of oil than we produce. CAUTION: AT THE INTERSECTION WHERE ENERGY IMPACTS THE ECONOMY WE WILL BE AT THE START OF PART B, THE LAST PART OF A COMPLETE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE. And now, for your APPARENT solution. This is where the false messiah, the new world leader, steps in: A man of peace and change and great oratory. He will be the greatest enemy the nation of Israel has ever known; and, the greatest enemy YOU have ever known. When the coming world leader – appointed by the New World Order – takes over, he will make a treaty (a covenant) with Israel for seven years. MUSIC Today, in addition to disease and famine issues, the leaders of the dominant nations are concerned with three (3) primary factors: Attaining peace among nations and ethnic groups; Guaranteeing the flow of oil; and, Stopping terrorism and conflict in the Middle East (especially between Israel and the Palestinians). Then comes the grand scheme: the global ONE WORLD government, money system, and religion. This world leader will make a covenant with Israel for seven years. In exchange for land concessions (remember, land is the basis of all wealth), the false prophet will allow Israel to build her Temple on or near the Temple Mount. This coming world leader, who rides into office on a platform of peace and change, will be worse than Hitler in Nazi Germany. He will first appear as a man of peace: a  messiah with answers for the Middle East and the world situation. But, remember what the Bible warns: “For when they shall say, ‘Peace and safety,’ then sudden destruction will come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” The Islamic and Palestinian hatred of Israel will bring pressure upon Israel to sign an accord, the architect of which will be the leader of the EU / Islamic New World Order. He will agree to PROTECT Israel in exchange for their signing this treaty. This accord will be a seven (7) year treaty – a unification document – allowing Israel to build her Temple on or near the Temple Mount in exchange for land and Jerusalem compromises. This will usher in a time of great persecution for the Jewish People 42 months AFTER the signing of this accord. (See Jeremiah 30:6-7 and Daniel 9:27.) The focus of the new world leader will then turn from protection of Israel - TO - persecution of Israel. WHAT TO DO? If you are still here at that time, make sure you KNOW the Messiah of Israel personally: Yeshua ha Meshiach. But, if you do NOT know Him by then, you probably are too late, because the Bible says a strong delusion will be upon those who reject Messiah, and who, for sake of the economy, receive an identification in their right hand or forehead. No one can buy or sell unless they have this I.D. Do NOT take this I.D. It will be a mark, or the name of the new world leader, or the number of his name. With all the tattoos in the world today, this will present NO problem for people. If this I.D. is to be embedded under the skin, that will be no problem either, since by that time most people will be accustomed to RFID: the replacement for UPC (Universal Product Code). They get three choices, according to their personal preference: mark, name of the world leader, or his number. I trust this information I have shared with you will help you: now and in the future. If this I.D.is to be embedded under the skin, that will be no problem either, since by that time most people will be accustomed to RFID: the replacement for UPC (Universal Product Code). They get three choices, according to their personal preference: mark, name of the world leader, or his number. I trust this information I have shared with you will help you: now and in the future.
