You helped me to see how strong I could be and how secure and how confident, and how you have to teach people how to treat you. And from that advice, I have continued to use it when negotiating clients and contracts and, you know, dating, you can't assume people are going to treat you right, and you have to stand up for yourself and ask for what you deserve. You just gave me the right tools for me to realize that it was all in my control. I didn't have to be a victim of other people's bad actions or negativity holding me back. You stand in your own way. Let's say when you came to coaching, you were operating at 30%. Of where you were at, of where of what your potential was—30%. I helped you to see—the other 70%. And on the good days, it's 100%. And on the bad days, it's 80 or 90%. But it's a heck of a lot more than the 30% that was being operated with. Life and work are hard enough. Why aren't we using our full potential? And I think we're not using our full potential because we're only aware of the 30%. We don't even realize there's a whole other 70% there. I was afraid of change. I didn't want to not be the victim anymore. It was easier being a victim and complaining than it was to actually. Deal with the issues and learn how to do things to make it better. I realized that something needed to change. I wasn't sure what it was, but I needed help. And because I was desperate. "When you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, you'll change." Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at really do change. I am no longer miserable in my own head. My head is a happy neighborhood. We would rather stay in the misery because that's familiar than take the risk on the incredible. Your life is like a thermometer, and you've got a certain temperature that you're comfortable being at. But if you get too cold or hot, your body wants to return to its comfort zone. For me, that was the most challenging part about change was that I knew that I was getting out of my comfort level. The coaching: We had a global pandemic. It was not your fault. "It gets better; it gets worse; it gets different; it gets real." So what is the number one word that comes up for me when I think of Karen is capable. You had the foresight that the ability to do enormous things. You lost your business. You dealt with that. You saw your income go from mid-six figures to zero. You had a condo that you could sell. Your mom is getting older. So that's an opportunity. Also, you landed a full-time job in a company. You did that. Take a moment and acknowledge you weren't a victim. You handled this situation. And not only that, when the shit hit the fan, you picked up the tools. You picked up the core work tools, and you applied them. So incredible because when the shit hits the fan, our number one thing is to go to all the negative stuff. You are probably the most capable person you know. Can you reframe what your life is actually like? It gave me gratitude for what I did have—and reframing where I am now. I'm getting time with my mom. There's a good chance I wouldn't get this time with her if the pandemic didn't happen. But I think the hardest part still is how quickly you can go back to that little girl. And I immediately went right back to that little girl with big brown hair and, you know, the dress with the sneakers on because I felt so alone. I felt like it was my fault. I've learned that it isn't and wasn't. Use the tools to get me in the right direction quicker. Truth with a capital T: Yes, you could have made things easier for yourself with a bigger nest egg. But you also can make things easier with your thoughts. I love the Louise Hay phrase. "Stop torturing yourself." It's about creating a happy place in your brain. Sometimes my brain isn't 100% happy, but I'd say, 80% of the time, it's pretty damn happy. Exercise: find a picture of yourself. As that little girl when you started to feel the fear. And keep it with you always and refer to it always because that's who you're taking care of. Go back to that exercise, and I want you to tell her that even though, yes, you lost your footing. You still always had her back through this whole thing that has happened for you. You still had her back. There is a lot to be grateful for. The opportunity to deal with it, to show myself that, yet again, I am capable. Exercise: Please look at everything that you have shared with us today. And I want you to find the evidence that shows you that you are capable. I want you to use your life to show that you are capable. Why don't you think of it differently? Because thoughts are just thoughts, and they can be changed. I am fucking capable. The work is about realizing your full potential in all areas of your life. Love the skin you're in.

Many people here in the UK will be returning to work and there will be many things to catch up on. One of my mentors says: “We don’t need to slow down we need to calm down.” This is a feeling you may have right now since the lockdown back in March and I would like to share one practical way to calm down. Practising calmness of mind keeps the body mind and spirit in balance. This means that if you get angry, stressed out, frustrated and you tend to worry this will affect your whole being. The most powerful way to attain calmness of mind is through meditation. However, meditation takes practice. A simpler way is to work with the breath of life. When the mind is not calm and overloaded with data breathing tends to be shallow. To deepen the breath of life I encourage you to find calmness of mind by taking time to consciously work with the breath. It is well worth it! This is a very simple exercise we can do now: Dr Ali says that: “The art of breathing or ‘pranayama’ (Prana means life force or energy while Yama means ‘regulation of’) is an integral part of yoga practice. By being mindful of the breath of life, you can increase your stamina, boost your general well-being and improve your energy levels, alertness, and clarity of mind. Breathing is, therefore, one of the most effective and economical ways of treating ill health.” Before we start there are few conditions you must be aware of: 1st condition: you intend to calm your mind by detaching yourself from anything that has been occupying your mind and any thought that comes. 2nd condition: you intend to focus on the breath as much as possible 3rd condition: you intend to relax as much as possible. 4th condition: you breathe in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth (or your nose is you are a yoga practitioner) Setting these intentions is very important before we start because now you know what you need to do. Let’s start! Make sure you are sitting comfortably. Relax your shoulders, release any tension you feel in your body and close your eyes lightly. Rest your palms up on your laps. Connect with your breath by taking a deep breath in and out three times. I am now going to guide you through this breathing exercise. You are now going to count each breath in and out starting from 1 to 10 at the beginning of each round. Remember that your sole focus is the breath. Take a deep breath in through the nose and breathe out slowly through the mouth by sending the breath out to the belly. Take a deep breath in through the nose and breathe out slowly through the mouth by sending the breath out to the belly. I’m Pascale Gibon and thank-you for listening to today’s episode. Are you a real perfectionist and perfectionism is keeping you stuck? I know how you feel. I acknowledge my perfectionism and how it could keep me stuck. If you are a perfectionist I would like to help you overcome perfectionism in today’s episode and share practical ways you can let perfectionism serve you as opposed to letting it keep you stuck and affect your wellbeing. Today’s episode is particularly for creatives and messengers who have a purposeful message to share with the world, however, they feel stuck because of perfectionism. Your perfectionism keeps you stuck if you haven’t started yet to: answer your calling, stand up, serve the people you are to serve with your message and live your message. A messenger or creative who is a real perfectionist tends to be overly self-critical, to overanalyse, to overstretch, to waste time learning more than is necessary and to stress out because things are not getting done. The problem that I see that real perfectionists face is that they spend too much energy on the wrong things for too long. I agree that getting knowledge is important however there must be a time when you tell yourself: “I know enough” so that you can start focusing on the main thing which is to get your message out to the world, serve your community of followers and lead. It might sound counterproductive what I am sharing with you today: how to let perfectionism serve you however let me explain. When you let perfectionism serve you you recognize that you have fallen into the trap of looking for imperfections and you can rectify this by following what I call the Perfection-Free Course. Here are four ways you could let perfectionism serve you: The first way to let perfectionism serve you: Perfectionism is getting in the way of your success if you feel stuck and spend more time learning than actually getting the main thing done which is to focus on the accomplishment of your purposeful goal. The distinction you need to make here is that you know enough to accomplish your purposeful goal. The second way you can let perfectionism serve you: If you feel stressed out working on your purposeful goal this is a sign that perfectionism is getting in the way of being in flow. Indeed, when you are on purpose you are in flow therefore when you feel any tension or that you are trying too hard this means that you need to invite more ease into what you are doing. I want to encourage you to remember this motto for the achievement of your purposeful goal: intention + attention = no tension. In other words when you set the intention to fulfil your purposeful goal or calling the energy required is as little tension as possible so that you minimize stress and stay fully in flow. The third way to let perfectionism serve you: If you move from one project to the next, you never get anything completed and you are left with a lot of incomplete projects, this means that perfectionism is getting in the way. You can let perfectionism serve you when you start to keep the main thing the main thing to completion and you only move to the next project once you have achieved the main thing. This point is very important if you want to experience micro-wins. The fourth way to let perfectionism serve you: Is to firstly acknowledge it and secondly to use your awareness whenever you are looking for imperfections so that you can refocus on being in flow again. To all messengers and creatives who are real perfectionists, I get you. I have good news for you: done is better than perfect. Get your project completed first because you can always rectify later. This is what I personally did with my first book YES! There has never been a faster way to adjust to change than when the whole world was forced to go into lockdown and adopt social distancing since March 2020. Do you realize how we adapted to change very quickly because we had no choice and we made the decision to comply. Some of the changes are: From going to work to working from home From taking the children to school to home schooling From going to the shops to shopping online From using social media occasionally to spending more time on them From chasing time to catching up From rushing to resting From avoiding boring stuff to facing them head on From eating whatever to watching what we eat All of these changes mean that we had to reorganize our lives in a positive way so that we could function better, improve our health and reduce stress. The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, announced last week that their employees are allowed to work from home as long as they want, in perpetuity. Since lockdown, the change I am most interested in and that I will cover in today’s episode is from going to work to working from home. I am familiar with the work from home model. I have worked from home since 2009 when I started to facilitate personal development. Therefore, I understand perfectly the challenges of working from home you may be facing. In today’s episode I would like to share with you how working from home works best by giving my best tips. Tip #1: Create the right working environment: You need a dedicated quiet space or room you can use as you study area where you won’t be easily distracted or disturbed. With the whole family being at home make sure that you have a sign on the door that says: “work in progress” if you need the peace and quiet to focus. Once the door is opened it means you are readily available. Tip #2: Be well equipped Ensure that you have an ergonomic work station which includes good lighting, a comfortable chair which supports your back and neck as well as a computer which is at the right level for you to work comfortably. Tip #3: Make the best use of your time In order to make the best use of your time working from home you need schedule your day the night before or before you sit down and open your computer. This will increase your efficiency and give you a greater sense that you are completing and achieving stuff. There is nothing worse than sitting at your computer and not knowing what you are trying to achieve or what you need to do next. Tip #4: Be practical Make sure that you have at hand all of the resources you will need throughout the day so that you don’t have to look for them later. Tip #5: Take breaks Take breaks every 50-minute. Spending too long sitting at the computer has dire consequences on your health like neck strain and back problems. This also reduces the amount of oxygen entering the body. Therefore, have a timer which rings every 50 minutes, get up, stretch, rehydrate, have a break for 10 minutes and start again. Some people suggest to have a power hour for 25 minutes then rest. See what works best for you 50 or 25 minutes. I personally work for 50 minutes then stop, stretch, have a break for let’s say 10 minutes then start again. Tip #6: Avoid overworking One of the pros of working from home is that you can manage your time as you wish. However, don’t fall into the trap of overworking. I have found myself working 10 hours some days, which I do not recommend at all. I suggest instead that you give yourself a command that you will work 7 hours maximum 5 days a week and no more. It is in fact counter-productive to work more hours than that. You feel exhausted and you still need more rest the following day. I want to congratulate you for dedicating time to your personal growth so that you can improve the quality of your life and experience joy. Having a successful year is not something that the majority of people plan for. Therefore, the goal of my best tips for your successful year series is to help you dedicate some time to designing your best life and journeying on the right path to success. Over seven episodes I shared with you my best tips for your successful year and these are: Tip #1: How to start afresh Tip #2: How to keep growing personally Tip #3: How to develop a positive mindset Tip #4: How to be clear about what you want Tip #5: How to use your creative power to design your life Tip #6: How to give love unconditionally Tip #7: How to grow in compassion Today I will be sharing with you the last tip, tip #8: Take 100% responsibility for your results. This success principle take 100% responsibility for your results, which means that if you are not happy with your results change them, might sound overloaded with too many responsibilities resting on your shoulders. It might also create the feeling that you won’t be able to perform and achieve at your best. In addition, it requires you to be honest with yourself especially if you fear that you might fail or you might not get the results you want. In practical terms what does resisting taking 100% responsibility for your results mean? Let’s use that example: Sally wants to lose weight so that she can fit into a beautiful new evening dress she’s had in her cupboard for six months now. If she doesn’t get the results that she wants she’d feel disappointed therefore she’d rather not take responsibility for her results. She would probably prefer to think that there is something wrong with the weight loss recipes she’s been recommended or the lack of support. In other words, the responsibility regarding her results would lie upon external factors. However, taking 100% responsibility for your results correlates with thinking into results and it has transformational benefits that I want to share with you: 1st benefit: In order to take 100% responsibility for your results you need to have a goal. Therefore you need to have something to move towards you can aim for. 2nd benefit: As you know, responsibility is your ability to respond to any challenge or unwanted situation. Therefore, when you harness your ability to respond to challenges or unwanted situations you find viable solutions and it puts you in the driver’s seat. 3rd benefit: Taking 100% responsibility for your results gives you the opportunity to change your results at will so that you can progress. Let me use Sally’s weight loss example again to illustrate this last benefit. We’ve seen that when we don’t take 100% responsibility for our results the responsibility lies purely upon external factors. On the other hand, if Sally was to think into results, which is to reach her ideal weight, she would acknowledge the necessary and additional efforts she would have to make in order to accomplish her goal. By taking 100% responsibility for her results Sally would increase her efforts as opposed to blaming her results on external factors. By doing so Sally would have a more positive outcome. You aim for a successful year and taking 100% responsibility for your results is a success principle that I love because it gives hope to anyone who believes that there is no solution to their problem. In most cases when others do not take 100% responsibility for their results they leave everything to chance. However, what would happen if you could influence the results and reach a positive outcome? It’s time to transform your results. I hope that you enjoyed today’s episode. Last week I shared with you how to love unconditionally and in today’s episode I will continue to share my best tips for your successful year series. Today’s tip is tip number seven: Stop judging, criticizing and increase your understanding with compassion so that you can experience personal growth and success. Hi, I’m Pascale and welcome to episode 144 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank-you for listening! As you are listening to today’s episode I want you to bear in mind that my intention is to help you grow in compassion and I hope that the content I share with you today will resonate with your heart. Our society is quick to judge and criticize much more than praise and encourage. This happens at work and also in the home environment. I think there is a difference between leading negatively and leading positively. For example, if judging and criticizing is only used for the purpose of proving that we are right, it means we are limited in our belief and the result is usually resentment from the other party. On the other hand, if judging and criticizing is used for the purpose of righteousness or growth it has a positive effect and is based on love. What do you think? Do you think that a lot of our time is wasted criticizing and judging ourselves and others negatively in a way that is not very constructive? I think it could be more valuable if it was based on love as opposed to being based on the ego. What I mean by that is that judgement and criticism are best applied for the purpose of growth. It is believed that negative headlines sell more newspapers than positive ones. It increases our curiosity as if we were taking good news for granted. On the BBC Future website, the psychologist Tom Stafford wrote on the 24th of July 2014 the following headline: "Why are newspapers and TV broadcasts filled with disaster, corruption and incompetence? It may be because we’re drawn to depressing stories without realising." This s is called 'negativity bias.' I think negative news is designed to help us shrink as opposed to helping us grow. The consequences are that we are creating a fearful world where we believe that life is happening to us as opposed to happening for us. Yes, there are challenges in the world however readers and viewers also need encouragement and inspiration. I do not read the newspapers or only once in a blue moon and I tell you why. I made the experiment a couple of years ago to read the newspaper every day for a week. I must confess that at the end of the week I felt so drained and gloomy that I stopped reading the news. This was my personal experience. If you read the newspaper every day or watch the news every night try to do the same experiment for a week but the other way around. Stop reading or watching the news for a week and observe whether there is a shift in your energy levels and perception. Our minds are powerful and a mind that feeds itself with negativity expects negative news or something dreadful to happen more often than not. My seventh best tip for your successful year is to stop criticising and judging in order to grow in compassion. It is not an easy thing to do. What is compassion and how do you grow in compassion? The English dictionary gives the following definition of compassion: "To be inclined to help or be merciful." One of the best secrets to compassion is the principle Stephen Covey revealed in his international bestselling book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The foundation of his principle is: “Seek first to understand then to be understood.” This is a principle I personally apply especially when I am quick to judge or criticize others or myself. I think that when we apply this principle: “Seek first to understand then to be understood” we can transform our relationships positively and a lot of conflicts and misunderstandings in relationships could be solved much faster. Conflict is often the result of another person not behaving the way we want them to behave. For example, we expect our partner to behave in a certain way however we become unhappy when they don’t. A compassionate heart seeks first to understand then to be understood. Therefore, what is needed is a lot of wisdom and viewing all of our relationships and the world with new eyes and a pure heart. Let’s say a colleague disagrees with you and seems a 'bit off.' Since you now have the awareness, it is important to remember that this person is suffering internally from a sense of lack; not being enough, beautiful enough, bold enough, rich enough, efficient enough, loved enough, good enough etc. Their attitude will reflect their sense of lack. Therefore, how they feel internally creates the particular behaviour you disagree with. This is compassion. It increases your ability to see their inner light, their greatness even though it does not seem that way from an external viewpoint. I believe that showing compassion is particularly important when you have strong views about something, you totally disagree with. The other way will be shown to you so that you accept others opinion in order to become more tolerant. It does not mean that you totally agree with them but that you accept them for who they are. This will broaden your understanding that we are all at various levels of awareness and will help you deepen your well of love. If growing in compassion resonates with your heart and you find yourself in a judging and criticizing phase which flares up particularly when you feel stressed, pause for a moment and tell yourself: “seek first to understand then to be understood.” This has the magical effect of purifying your heart, calming your mind and making you a better person. In today’s episode I will be covering unconditional love and referring to my Amazon bestselling book YES! TO Love™; The Ultimate Guide To Personal Transformation For Everyday Life Balance. If you are listening to this podcast I am sure that like me you strive to live an extraordinary life of love. I wrote the Amazon bestselling book YES! TO Love™ with a strong message regarding returning to love especially in times of suffering, confusion and the feeling of delusion. This rings even more true today with all of the challenges with are all facing together worldwide. For those of you my listeners who don’t know the origin story of YES! TO Love™ let me share it with you now. I got inspired to write YES! TO Love™ following an article I read in an English Newspaper on Burnout in the City of London. The article covered how young yuppies starting up in the City were driven to total despair and burnout. I was extremely moved by this story, it touched my heart deeply and I wanted to offer a solution which became the book YES! TO Love™. It is a message of hope to return to love. This means to return to loving yourself and others more whenever you are faced with a problem. This requires a strong faith and belief in the power of love, which I describe in the book. The problem that I observe in today’s world is that sometimes love is forgotten when in fact it is the very answer to what I call your workbook of life or your workbook of problems. It is your salvation. In other words, if you were to view your situation with the eyes of love, you would have a more profound and truthful experience. From this perspective, in times of crisis you could ask yourself what would love do? and as such return to love. We are quick to take love: for example, when we do something for someone we expect something in return. However, the purpose of today’s episode is to have a conversation about cultivating unconditional love so that you can elevate your happiness and joy. Loving yourself unconditionally requires you to be kind to yourself by not judging yourself too harshly and to forgive yourself for any mistake you may have made. In addition, the quickest way that I have found to love others unconditionally is to remember the love you have been given. Whenever you find yourself in a place where you feel unloving remember all of the love you have been given throughout your life. The unconditional love you have been given could come from your parents or a total stranger etc. This is the message I want to share with you today return to love now and every day. .................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT .................................. Hi welcome to episode 142 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank-you for listening to today’s podcast. In last week’s episode I shared with you my origin story and my biggest lesson was that we are designed for success. In today’s episode I am going to share with you my fifth best tip for your successful year which is to use your creative power to design your life. When you harness your creative power, you are able to live your life by design as opposed to letting your circumstances dictate your future. You are a creative being since you can use your creative power to design your life. I am going to share with you in today’s episode 6 essential ways which will help your use creative power to design your life. The first way you can use your creative power to design your life is to visualise what you want from the depth of your heart or to put it another way to use the power of your imagination to create what you want in life. Visualisation aligns your conscious mind and subconscious mind or your thinking mind and feeling mind with what you truly want. As you are emotionally involved with what you are thinking it increases the likelihood of its manifestation. For example, when I decided to start my complementary therapy business, that was back in 2007, I had a clear vision of what I wanted to create and I felt deep in my heart that it was the right decision. After all I was resigning from a comfortable 9 to 5 job to become a solopreneur! Shakti Gawain who is the author of Creative Visualization, a book that I highly recommend if you want to learn more about creative visualisation, says: The clearer and stronger your intention, the more quickly and easily your creative visualization will work.” The second way to use your creative power to design your life is to take 100% responsibility for your life. Taking responsibility means that you are able to respond to your circumstances. When you take 100% responsibility for your life you become actively involved in the creative process of your own life. Let me give you an example: you want to improve your relationship with someone you love however you had an argument and you haven’t spoken for a while. Where there is an intention or a decision for reconciliation a solution will show up. Since you want to improve your relationship with that person you choose as well to respond to the situation differently and this is where your creative power becomes handy. With a good intention coupled with wisdom, you will think of ways to respond to the situation more positively. You might, for example, view the situation differently. You might recognize your mistakes honestly. You might try to understand the other person’s view point and introduce peace in the relationship. Whatever method you choose to improve the relationship you would have used your creative power to do so. The third way to use your creative power to design your life is to ask yourself more empowering questions, which will improve the quality of your life. This is a tool I always use and return to. It is a tool in your arsenal for success, which is particularly powerful when you feel stuck and confused. It is simple it starts with “How can I ……?” Let us use the relationship example I have previously mentioned. Instead of saying: “I can’t make this relationship work” you could ask yourself a more empowering question: “How can I make this relationship work better?” The former question means that you see no solution at all, the latter question means that there is still a light of hope. Of course, the intensity of your creative power will depend upon the intensity of your intention. The fourth way to use your creative power to design your life is to apply one of the three controllable ways you can change things in your life: Try something new. In order to try something new you need to be creative and to choose something that would make you feel alive and enlighten your day. The fifth way to use your creative power to design your life is writing or journaling. Writing or journaling allows your imagination to run wild. It has amazing healing power and it is a great source of creativity and inspiration. When something is written it is imprinted and memorised and therefore, you are more likely to take action towards it. The sixth and last way to use your creative power to design your life is to model other people who are successful in a particular area. It could be your parents who have an amazing relationship, a colleague who has commendable work ethics or a friend who is a very good listener. The ideas that emanate from your creative power will be effective for many years to come. In other words what you create today might or might not manifest today but may manifest in the future. Therefore, as you design your life by using your creative power you must be increasingly aware of what you wish for. As always remember now is your time to transform your life one step at a time. In order to design your life what I would like to recommend is that you choose one way to use your creative power which resonates with you the most. This is a great starting point. I am going to share with you My Origin Story: How I Became A ‘Change Catalyst’ For Growth, Transformation And Success. I hope you are keeping safe and healthy. After I finally left my boring job, my boring 9 to 5 job as a Personal Assistant, I opened up my own complementary therapy business. This was back in 2007. After a few months of giving treatments, I realized that my clients needed more. They needed life coaching in order to increase their well-being and happiness. Indeed, my clients were my best teachers… I felt I was not doing enough for them and I wanted to do more, to give more and to help them at a deeper level. However, my perfectionism got in the way and led to a lot of confusion. Can I do this? Am I going to be good at it? Where do I start? Who can teach me? All of these questions went through my mind. However, I will never forget that perfect day. On that perfect day I saw Bob Proctor on stage for the first time. For those of you who don’t know Bob Proctor, he is a world-renowned thought leader in the field of personal development. I was mesmerized, like hundreds of participants who were at the seminar that day, because everything Bob said resonated with my heart. The big epiphany came when Bob said: “You are designed for success.” From that perfect day my plan was to enrol in his life success consultant programme and to commit 100% to helping my clients further and living a meaningful, fulfilling and successful life. When I shared in my blog article My Best Tips For 2020 at the beginning of this year little did I know that what I shared with you would be so relevant today with the way things have evolved since then. Hi, I’m Pascale and welcome to episode 140 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank-you for listening to today’s podcast. I hope that you enjoyed my podcast last week on love and hope which is called: "Comforting your heart - How to Build A Strong Mental Immunity." In today’s episode I am going to share with you my fourth tip for your successful year. I believe that despite all of the challenges we are facing together there is still a lot of room for you to make the most of the experience and learn from it. My heart goes to all of the people who have lost their lives due to the Covid-19 outbreak. As you know, the current situation asks of us to be more present with our lives instead of running, rushing and stressing, which has been the case for the majority of people that I know. I want to help you as much as possible to seize the opportunity for change we are being given right now so that you can improve your life, kick start your well-being, enhance your relationships, boost your energy level as well as experience more joy and happiness. My fourth tip for your successful year is to be clear specifically about three things: The first thing is: What do you really want? The second thing is: What do you want your life story to be? and The third thing is how do you want to live your life? Are you ready to actively create the life you want? Let’s look at the first idea: What do you really want? One tool which will help you get clear about what you really want is to make a list of the things you are no longer willing to tolerate in your life and decide what you want to do about it. A second tool you can use is to connect deeply with your higher self and to ask your higher self what do I really want? I did this exercise recently on a masterclass with Jack Canfield where he recommended we touch the tip of our second finger and ask our higher self: “what do I really want?” If you do this exercise you might be surprised to feel, hear or sense a very simple answer to this question. Once you are clear your next step is to take action. The last time I meditated on what I really want peace came to my consciousness. As a result, I have been focusing on inviting as much peace as possible through my thoughts, feelings and actions. At present, I am working from home and learning new things therefore I have been trying to manage my time and energy well so that I don’t feel any overwhelm and I keep a sense of peace. Now let’s move on to the second idea. If you want to go deeper the second question on clarity is a powerful one: what do you want your story to be? What is the story of your life you want to create? I want to remind you here that we create our life story every single day. It starts with the first thing we when we wake up in the morning. A tool you can use to create the life story you desire is to be aware of your daily habits and ascertain whether they are supportive or not. Are your daily habits creating the story you want for your life and contributing to your happiness? The saying: “as you sow so you shall reap. “ reminds us to be aware of our daily actions. Therefore, the actions you take today, your deeds will affect your future. The Let me ask you: What is the story you want to create for your life on a daily basis? Is your story to live well as much as possible? And if so, what does it mean to you? And lastly what action are you willing to take to make your dream come true? Let’s move on to the third idea. It is to be clear about how you want to live. A powerful tool you can use is visualization. You can visualize how you want to live so that you can connect to your higher aspirations and elevate your life. Due to the current world challenge the thoughts that might come to your mind are: Do I really want to carry on the way I have been living to date or do I want change? However, the most important point and distinction I’d like to make in today’s podcast is to keep progressing in life and the best way to do that is by keeping an attitude of gratitude. As such you do not view your life situation as dire but as an ever-evolving opportunity for growth, evolution and progress. If you are willing to view your life as an ever opportunity for growth, evolution and progress you must develop a growth mindset. I hope that you enjoyed today’s episode. .................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT .................................. Hi, I’m Pascale and welcome to episode 139 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank-you for listening. We are all at present going through a challenging time and we are in it together. My heartfelt intention in today’s podcast is to comfort your heart and heighten your hope. I wrote YES! TO Love™ because I was committed to saving lives from burnout and despair. That’s why the subtitle of the book is “The Ultimate Guide To Personal Transformation For Everyday Life Balance.” The majority of us have most probably reacted to the situation in a state of shock. We were all getting on with our lives and boom out of nowhere we have to isolate, work from home or stop work completely in order to stay safe and healthy. My warm appreciation goes to the medical and service professionals who are still serving us every day face to face. However, throughout history there have been economic crises and wars and human beings have always recovered because we are resilient by nature, we bounce back and we have faith whether it is faith in God or in yourself and humanity. As a strong proponent of love there is a formula that I want to share with you today which I hope will help you move from a place of fear, worry, uncertainty and anxiety to a place of empowerment, trust, faith, hope and resourcefulness. I shared with you last week two principles you can use to uplift your spirit: the first principle is to believe that: “there is a spiritual solution to every problem.” This principle invites you to view every aspect of your life and the current situation we are all in from a different perspective and a more positive outlook. The second principle is to bring into your awareness that: “you become what you think about.” If you think negatively for long period of times this affects your well-being however you can shift your state by starting to develop a more positive mindset which vibrates at a higher energy frequency. This theory was demonstrated by the author and pseudo-scientist Masaru Emoto who said that: “Human consciousness has an effect on the molecular structure of water.” Masaru Emoto’s experiment reveals that If human vibrational energy, thoughts, ideas, words and music affect the molecular structure of water they must affect, also, everything in our environment and the world at large. You can look up Masaru Emoto's experiment if you want to learn more. The formula I want to share with you today is: E + R = O. E: stands for event R: stands for response and O: stands for outcome. In other words, the results you get in life are determined by the way you respond to your life’s events, situation or circumstances. This implies that if you want a different result in life from the one you have you must change the way you respond to your situation. Therefore, there are two ways you could respond to the current world crisis: One response could be to worry excessively, get angry and be resentful. Another response could be to look at the situation more positively and become resourceful. I would like to recommend that you take some time today to reflect and think about how we can, as a community, overcome the situation we are all in as quickly as possible and what lessons are to be learnt. I believe in God and that there is a reason behind every situation. If we were to view the current situation in a more positive light and transform positively our response is it possible that: We are given the opportunity to create better lives and a better world. Is this new opportunity leading to a dramatic paradigm shift in the way we live? Here are four things I have personally observed, since I have been isolating myself: I take my time to do things instead of rushing like a headless chicken. I cultivate a sense of peace even more so amidst the chaos. I think about how I want to live my life going forward. I am learning from the lessons. What about you? What are you learning from the present confinement? How are you viewing your world and the world at large? We are being given an opportunity for growth and positive change. The world is going through a challenging time right now and my 3rd best tip for your successful year could not be more relevant. Hi, I’m Pascale and thank-you for listening to episode 138 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Here is my third best tip for your successful year: Return to a positive mindset at all times especially when you go through tough times. The current situation we all face might seem desperate with overwhelming fear, worry, sadness, doubt, uncertainty etc. However, you can view your situation more positively especially if you are safe and healthy. One of my favourite books is by Wayne Dyer and it is called: “There Is A Spiritual Solution To Every Problem.” I love that book and I remember how I felt transformed when I wanted to have a higher perspective on my life’s circumstances. The content in this book reveals that there is a higher purpose to everything that happens to us in life and I have solved my life’s challenges or workbook of life from this perspective ever since. I am now going to read you an extract taken from the Foreword in Wayne Dyer’s book: "There Is A Spiritual Solution To Every Problem." “In the autumn of 2000, I was literally brought to my knees while alone in a hotel room. I could barely breathe. My chest felt like it was in a vise. I was sweating profusely and soon found out that I had a heart attack. But something was dreadfully wrong with this picture. I do not smoke or drink; I am not overweight; I exercise every day and have done so for twenty-five years. I watch what I eat; I meditate; I do what I love, and I love what I do. I have a great marriage and wonderful children. I don’t do heart attacks! That is for other people who live their lives in such a way as to invite heart attacks. Not Dr. Wayne Dyer. Yet, there I was, in the hospital with monitor wires attached all over my upper body and with an IV in my arm. In three days, I would have an angiogram procedure. For the first twenty-four hours, I lay there in a state of shock and disbelief. It is called denial. I felt sorry for myself. I refused to acknowledge that such a thing could happen to me. I was weepy around my family and I was, to be honest, scared. After that first day I began to re-examine what I had written in this book you are about to read. I reminded myself over and over of the title: There is a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem- and this surely was a problem. I remembered that I could bring the energy of spirit right here to that hospital room. By doing so I could turn this thing around and no longer wallow in the low energy of self-pity, injury, sadness, fear and doubt. The facts were the facts, my heart had been injured. Now it was up to me. I am not this body; I am a spiritual being, eternal, always connected to God. I could shift my awareness to being the observer rather than the victim, which is what I have been writing about over the past twenty years. It was as if the light came on in a dark room. I felt the presence of a higher, faster healing energy almost immediately. I began to be cheerful rather than morose.” When you examine your own life I want you to see beyond what is, from the understanding that there is a spiritual solution, a higher spiritual energy, a higher purpose or a higher level of understanding to any problem that you might be facing right now. Throughout history, it has been revealed to us that: "we become what we think about." Therefore, being aware of your thoughts is critical in order to live a successful and happy life. When your thoughts are not aligned with what you desire you cannot achieve your dreams. However, when your thoughts are more aligned with what you desire you can take the right actions. One exercise I want you to do is to examine your thoughts right now: are they empowering thoughts focusing on a higher level of awareness or are they disempowering thoughts focusing on a lower level of awareness? What you focus on grows. Remember that when you feel anxious, fearful, worried or doubtful just tell yourself: “I become what I think about…” Therefore, if you think about something you do not want to become or manifest you must change your thinking by focusing your awareness on something positive that you actually want. What I would like you to be aware of is that by focusing your awareness on what you want on a daily basis you can begin to cultivate a more positive mindset or mode of thinking which then becomes a positive habit and a new way of life. The most important thing to remember is that you are not following this process from a place of resistance or self-blame but from a place of ease and acceptance. You accept the negative thought and the emotion attached to it for what it is however you do not focus your awareness on that negative thought or emotion what you do instead is that you shift your awareness from victimhood to empowerment by changing at will the negative thought you have into a positive one. In conclusion, you have the power to change your thoughts so that you can live a better life. You have learnt today two principles that you can apply in your life for success: Firstly, that there is a spiritual solution to every problem Secondly, that you become what you think about. I am an avid learner and I believe that we were born to grow and soar through learning whether it is through a life’s lesson or from a book. Contrary to some people who believe that they know enough I am thirsty for more knowledge. Knowledge is power I apply to my own life so that I can become a better person and improve the quality of my life. What about you? How do you apply the knowledge you gain? There is no limit to your own growth because you are a powerful and unlimited being. You might feel stuck right now in some areas of your life and you are unable to see the way forward. However, you can overcome this obstacle when you choose to keep learning and growing. One way of overcoming this obstacle is by identifying what knowledge, skill, support, resource and guidance you need to move forward in order to be a better person and to improve the quality of your life. There is so much you can learn from others who have walked the same path you are currently walking on. This is a possibility you might open up to. I believe deeply that you master your life when you keep growing personally. On the one hand the biggest obstacle is that it might take time. On the other hand the biggest reward is that you enhance your relationships with others dramatically when you commit to becoming a better person. Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon and I want to thank-you for listening to episode 136 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. I shared with you at the beginning of the year my best tips for 2020 and over the next 8 weeks I am going to expand on each best tip individually so that you can use, in your own life, the tips that resonate with you and suit you best. My first tip for a successful year is to start afresh. One specific step you can take to start afresh is to let go of the past and in particular of the things that belong to the past you can no longer change. Holding on to the past clutters your mind with unnecessary worry, stress and restlessness. Today, I invite you instead to fall in love with the idea of viewing your life as a new beginning, as if you were looking at a blank canvas which is ready for your new creation to emerge. This way of visualizing your life opens up a new door for positive change, hope and transformation. However, in order to start afresh your new creation requires you to let go of things that belong to the past which are beyond your control in other words you can’t do anything about. What you want instead is to focus on things that are in your control you can do something about it. This new perception of life is liberating because it stops you from wasting your energy on things that are obsolete. What would happen to your well being if you were more present with the present moment and letting go of things that you can’t change because they are beyond your control and they belong to the past? All you can do is to take away the lessons and be present with the present moment. In order to start afresh for a successful year what I want you to do now are three things: #1: I want you to write down on a piece of paper the things that worry you the most and come up to the surface over and over again. #2: Put an asterisk next to the things which are beyond your control and you cannot change and a star next to the things you can control and change. #3: Make the decision today to focus your energy only on the things on your list you can control and change and discard the rest. There is something admirable about wanting to take your life to the next level and setting SMART (specific, measurable, actionable, realistic, timely) goals in order to achieve your dreams. Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 135 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. If you are listening to today’s episode I know that you are inspired and taking the initial steps towards the achievement of your goal. However, the statistics show that most people who set new resolutions never excel or stick to them through thick and thin. However, you are going to excel and get better results with this success tool I am about to share with you called “know you why.” The reason why most people fail to accomplish their goals is because they are unclear about their why or have lost sight of it. Let me explain your why is the reason why you have chosen a particular goal and the deeper you discover your why the more likely you are going to stay motivated and take high value actions that will get you to where you want to go. Here is how it works in practice. I am now going 7 levels deep to discover the why that supports a specific goal. Let’s say your goal is to change career altogether. What is your why? Why is it important to you? and Why does it matter? Let’s now start the question and answer process: why do you want to change career altogether? Your answers could be: I want to change career altogether because I want to have a reason to get up in the morning Why do you want to have a reason to get up in the morning? I want to do something more meaningful Why do you want to do something more meaningful? I want to serve others in a big way and make a difference Why do you want to make a difference? I want to use the many talents and skills I have? Why do you want to use the many talents and skills you have? I want to reach my full potential Why do you want to reach your full potential? I want to feel amazing, fulfilled and happy 7. Why do you want to feel amazing, fulfilled and happy? I want to be at peace with myself. What if you could achieve your goals effortlessly in alignment with what is true to you, what matters to you the most, you why? What would happen if you knew why you have chosen to accomplish a particular goal? Get a piece of paper handy, write down your specific goal and go through the same question and answer process I have just gone through with you. Starting with: Why you want to accomplish your chosen goal? People who do not accomplish their goals, give up half way or never get started fail to use the “Know Your Why” tool from the start. I recommend that you revisit your why for any goal you set every 3 months so that you stay on track with your progress. Self-esteem is such a vast subject and a lack of self-esteem affects so many aspects of your life, namely: your relationships, happiness, work and success. Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 133 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Do you struggle with a low self-esteem? For example: Do you believe that you are not good enough? Do you neglect your own needs? Do you find it difficult to say ‘no’? Do you sabotage your own success? Do you bottle up your true feelings? Are you afraid of making mistakes? Do you mistrust your inner guidance? Do you have a high sense of guilt? If this is you, I am going to share with you today three tips you can use now to raise your self-esteem. Nathaniel Branden gives us the best definition of self-esteem In his bestselling book “The Six Pillars Of Self-Esteem”: “Self-esteem fully realized, is the experience that we are appropriate to life and to the requirements of life. More specifically, self-esteem is: Confidence in our ability to think, confidence in our ability to cope with the basic challenges of life; and Confidence in our right to be successful and happy, the feeling of being worthy, deserving, entitled to assert our needs and wants, achieve our values, and enjoy the fruits of our efforts.” Here are my three tips to raise your self-esteem so that you can elevate your happiness and boost your self-confidence. Tip no. 1: Increase your self-belief Your self-belief is attached to the beliefs you have of yourself with regard to whom you are as a person and what you believe you can or cannot do. Your self-beliefs whether they are negative or positive affect the quality of your life and your inner happiness. For example, if you believe that you are not good enough or that something will not work because you are not going to be perfect and good at it this will affect your motivation and happiness because you will feel defeated and hopeless. Your self-beliefs are influenced by both the external (what people say about you) and internal (what you believe internally). Therefore, in order to raise your self-belief to a higher level: “I am enough” you must change the beliefs you have about yourself. One result-oriented action you can take is to develop the new habit of becoming your best friend or supporter as if you were nurturing your inner child. Cheer yourself up so that you pick yourself up instead of putting yourself down or being hard on yourself. When you consider the steps, you have taken until now you will realize that you have grown so much and your evolutionary process does not stop here it carries on and on. Tip no. 2: Improve your self-image You improve your self-image to the extent that you improve the way you view yourself. Moreover, the way you view yourself determines your actions and your results in life. If you want more positive results you must create a more positive self-image. In order to improve the way, you view yourself so that you can attain positive results you need to hold another positive image in mind you can work with and you must move towards the new self-image you want to create. Your result-oriented action is to answer the following question: How do you want to show up in order to align with the new positive image you have created of yourself? Note: the purpose of this exercise is to help you reconnect with your true essence by playing big as opposed to playing small. In addition, one way of improving your self-image is to listen to others when they pay you a compliment. Do you listen to their compliment or do you ignore it? If it is the latter, pay attention to their compliments and praises and let them sink in. Allow yourself to receive their kind words. This will help boost your confidence and enhance your ability to receive with gratitude. Tip no. 3: Allow yourself to make mistakes You are probably a perfectionist and your low self-esteem stops you from taking action. If you are highly critical of yourself and you fear being judged by others, it is time to let your armor down. Making mistakes is part of the process of growth and should be considered as feedback. Therefore, mistakes are to be made because when you make mistakes and learn from them you raise your self-esteem. As a result of allowing yourself to make mistakes you will learn something new and raise your level of self-awareness. The more you are self-aware the more powerful your become. By allowing yourself to make mistakes you start moving towards maximizing your full potential and inner richness as opposed to sitting on the fence. Today’s episode is about love since we are celebrating love this week with St Valentine’s day falling on Friday the 14th of February. What I would like to share with you today specifically is how to love your heart more through the healing of the heart. There is healing of your physical heart through the lifestyle changes you make like following a healthy diet, keeping active, reducing stress, reducing your salt intake if you suffer from high blood pressure etc. However, healing of your emotional heart is as important if not more important in my opinion. I believe that all of us should be healing the emotional heart, because all of us have gone through the suffering of the emotional heart at one time or another. Some people even say that their heart was or is broken. Healing the emotional heart can be challenging because it involves a 4-step process that I would like to share with you now. Step 1: Agreement to heal the emotional heart. Step 2: Acceptance to learn from the lessons. You have probably gone through a very painful experience regarding love. However, we you accept to let go of the pain because it is part of your soul’s journey and to intensify love instead then you are ready to let go. Step 3: Readiness to let go of anything that is obstructing the healing of your heart. With regard to love it is the readiness to let go of any resentment, disappointment, pain, hurt, suffering, guilt, anger and jealousy. Step 4: Forgiveness. It is your agreement to forgive yourself and to forgive others. Forgiveness is a gift that you give to yourself and you give to others. It helps you leap forward towards freedom of the heart. I believe that if you agree to follow these four steps so that you can free yourself from any attachment to suffering you will find freedom from heartache. Thank-you for listening to today’s podcast. As we celebrate love this month, I want to remind you that you are a powerful being of love, even though you might give in to constant fear, worry and anxiety. However, It does not have to be this way. I want to share with you in today’s episode one powerful step you can take now to break free from any attachment so that you can reduce suffering. For example, your attachment to a past relationship causes you suffering and might be stopping from moving forward and finding a new romantic partner or soulmate. If this is you I have a solution for you. The one powerful step that you will have to take in order to fulfil your desire for a romantic relationship with your soulmate and to break free from attachments is acceptance. Indeed, you must accept to let go of your past relationships first because they weaken your emotional energy. You might be constantly thinking about your past romantic relationships: why they did not work, what you did wrong etc. yet it’s time to let bygone be bygone and to accept only the love and the lessons. If you choose to adopt the attitude of acceptance you can as a result deepen your self-awareness, which will help you identify what did not work in your past romantic relationships as well as do things differently to make sure that your new romantic relationship works. On the other hand, a lack of acceptance would lead to self-blame and resentment. The more you work with acceptance in all aspects of your life, the more you decide to move forward by taking action, the more you will enjoy a happier, balanced and fulfilling life. However, I hear you. You might be thinking: “But she or he hurt me so much.” The person who might have hurt you has moved on but, you still remain attached to the pain and the suffering their behaviour has caused you. It’s time to let go and to accept that the purpose of your life’s experiences is always and only to make you stronger and improve the tendencies of your soul. There is one action I would like you to take today and that is to: Decide what attachment which is causing you suffering and using too much of your emotional energy you accept to let go of from today onwards? Are you struggling with sticking to the realization of your dream? Perhaps you are thinking this is too much and you want to give up. In today’s episode I am going to share with you 3 tips you can use now to stick to the realization of your dream no matter what. As you know most people make new year resolution however only a small fraction stick to it and go all the way. If you are listening to today’s episode you are different and seeking solutions so that you can commit to sticking to the realization of your dream no matter what... My first tip is to become unstoppable: imagine that you are taking part in a hurdle race. There are obstacles to reach and overcome, you need to employ certain techniques such as controlling your breathing to reach the finish line and in addition you need to go faster than your opponents. The only way you can reach the finish line is by becoming unstoppable and training your mind to think so. I want you to use this same story for your own story, for the realization of your own dream that is: you will keep going no matter what obstacle comes your way. This too you shall overcome. My second tip is to remain focused: I struggled with a lack of focus for many years because I was interested in so many things and my imagination run wild. We can be so easily distracted however keep creating your own story and fulfilling your dream. You remain focused by taking as many actions as possible on a consistent basis which are aligned with your dream. For example, if you dream of changing career, take daily actions to move towards your ideal career. My third tip is to stop procrastinating. Your commitment to your dream is always tested. I often say that it is easier to give up than to keep going. You can stop procrastinating by seeking clarity. Indeed, when you are really clear about your goal and the steps you need to take to get there you can move forward with confidence. Let’s take the ideal career example again. What is your goal and what are the steps you need to take In order to start your ideal career? The most important thing is to get started so that you can move towards the realization of your heartfelt dream. Secondly, in order to grow in compassion how can you change the beliefs and perception you have of them? You see I believe there is a deeper level. And growing in compassion, changing your beliefs and perception of the particular person you tend to criticize and judge a lot starts with opening your heart to other possibilities and increasing your understanding. When you choose first to understand then to be understood you start to realize that due to our upbringing, culture, background, gender and life experiences we are all different. Over the last couple of episodes, I shared with you how you can plan now for a successful year ahead. 2020 marks the beginning of a new decade and the purpose of today’s episode is to help you be fully engaged with the type of life you want to live and design for yourself. In episode 125 you learnt a simple step which helps your life success review which is to answer three powerful questions I hope you found some time to do that. Here are the four questions again: How have you showed up for most part of this year? In other words, have you played full on by designing your life or have you been disengaged for most part? What have you accomplished this year successfully? In other words, what are the accomplishments you are very proud of this year? What has not worked so well for you this year? You probably planned to do something however you did not get the results you wanted, you never got started or you met roadblocks along the way. In view of what has not worked so well this year, what can you plan ahead and do differently now to ensure a very successful 2020? In episode 126: you learnt about setting SMART goals as well as the three different types of goals (minimum goal, target goal and outrageous goal). You also learnt what a breakthrough goal is and the four different steps you can take now to set your goals for a successful year ahead, namely: Do the Life Review Assessment at ly/BalanceAssess Set your breakthrough goal in one area of your life such as your personal life (education, spiritual growth, personal development, experiences you want), work & career, finances, relationships, health and fitness, fun time and recreation and lastly contribution (supporting a charity, volunteer work, philanthropy, community impact. etc.) Now visualize how your life would change as a result of accomplishing your breakthrough goal. What would you be doing, seeing and feeling? Write down an affirmation for your goal In today’s episode you will learn three secrets to make it all work and predict your life change success so that you can truly take your life to the next level. However, before I do that let’s define what your desire for change might be: It could be changing the direction of your life completely whereby you change your lifestyle, your job and the country you live in altogether. Or it could be improving one area of your life which would improve your happiness dramatically this could be for example finding your soulmate, increasing your income or improving your health. No matter what your desire for a life change might be there are success principles which will help you get there faster and I am now going to share with you three secrets to life change success. The first secret to life change success so that you can take your life to the next level is clarity: your intention and objectives have to be clear and very specific. For this purpose, you can answer these four questions: What do you want to change in your life? Why does it matter to you? Why do you want to change it? What do you desire as a next step? The second secret to life change success is to make a committed decision: your decision entails committing 100% to your new vision for your life or the change you want to make. Your decision has to be 100% committed and definite so that you can take daily actions to move towards the accomplishment of your life change success. The third secret to life change success is to have a marker or something that lets you know that you have reached your goal: your marker goes hand in hand with creating a clear and specific goal you can move towards. Thank-you for taking the time to listen to today’s episode. I know what you might be thinking but the year is not over yet and I am already planning the year ahead... Actually, we are only a fortnight plus two days away from Christmas eve and now is a good time to start planning your year ahead before things start getting too crazy. Setting your goals now for a successful year ahead has the following advantages: It lets you design your life so that you manifest what you want. It gives you a direction with regard to what steps you want to take in 2020. It aligns your thinking with what truly matters to you in your life It gives you a head start as it helps you programme your mind for success ahead of time. The simplest and easiest way to set your goals for a successful year is to create S.M.A.R.T goals. SMART goals are: S - Short and specific M - Measurable (you must have landmarks or clues which educate you on how you are doing whether you are on or off course) A - Achievable R - Results oriented T - Timely There are three types of goals that you can set: Minimum goal: “I will run 5K by the 31st of May, 2020.” Target goal: “I will run 10K by the 31st of May 2020.” Outrageous goal: “I will run 42K by the 31st of May 2020.” An outrageous goal would be something that would blow your mind if you achieved it. Something that feels like : “Well I could never do that.” In addition, it is important to create a breakthrough goal to instantly up level your life and career. Smaller goals help you advance little by little toward the achievement of your breakthrough goal. An example could be: a profound career move or a major personal improvement. A breakthrough goal permanently changes your life and permanently changes who you are as an individual. Before you set your SMART goals, I invite you to do a Life Review Assessment so that you can take the committed decision to change a particular area of your life based on the results you get in the life review assessment and what matters to you the most right now. The Life Review Assessment will help you: Evaluate where you are in your life right now and how you are performing in the major areas of your life. Assess your satisfaction with your current life. Identify what aspect of your life is a little bit off. Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 124 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank-you for listening to today’s episode. The Christmas season tends to be a very busy time of the year with flights to book, projects to finish at work, parties to organize, children to entertain etc. You are probably wondering how to get everything done and how to best be organized with the few weeks you have left until then. I know how it feels, I will be spending Christmas in the Caribbean and I am getting ready… I am getting ready to have as much completed as possible without overloading myself. Here is the secret: in order for the pre-Christmas Season to be as stress-free as possible you can get organized in advance, look ahead and plan ahead. I am now going to share with you a three-step process you can use now in order to get organized before The Christmas Season. Your first simple step is to look at your calendar and diary at the beginning of each week and at the end of each week over the next four coming weeks. This will take you to week ending the 22nd of December. Your second step is to determine what your most important goals are and what you want to accomplish: For example: gift shopping, food shopping, setting your Christmas menus or getting a project completed etc. Your third step is to set a deadline for the completion date of each task and to set a clear date accordingly. Now that you will have the whole pre Christmas Season Stress-Free Process in place with the three steps I have just shared with you the most important thing will be not to beat yourself up if you don’t get everything done. Aim to have at least 80% of it done. The good news is that you can continue to use this three-step process for the remaining items that you need to complete. By following this three-step process for a stress-free pre Christmas Season you will spread your workload or tasks over the next four weeks as opposed to packing everything in at the last minute. Today’s episode is called Stop Creating Long ‘To Do’ Lists and Do This Instead. A client of mine told me recently: “I keep making the same mistake every week. I push myself too hard and I don’t know how to stop this pattern. As a result, I feel drained, stressed out and really tired.” Her problem is that she dreams of creating a holistic lifestyle however her tendency is to return to old habits which drain her energy. I would describe a holistic lifestyle as creating total balance in your life as much as possible. You see there was a lack of congruency between how my client wanted to feel and what she was actually doing. She was packing the week full of stuff in order to keep busy. She disregarded her own wellbeing and limits with regard to her physical and emotional balance. As a consequence, she was not happy with: How she felt The mistake she was making over and over again every single week. As well as The level of her output at work. She expected to do better. Here are the consequences of overburdening yourself with too many tasks on your ‘to do list’ A long ‘To Do’ list confuses you: it creates overwhelm and a confused mind because you don’t know where to start and you doubt whether you can get it done. It also means that you try to do too many things at once without a strategy. You try to be busy for the sake of being busy but not efficient or productive in the way you manage your time. You feel you have not accomplished much at the end of a working day. What I would recommend is that you develop a clear and simple strategic system which you follow every week: The strategic system I have in mind is to introduce and follow the Rule of 3 in order to reduce overwhelm. Step 1: Prioritize your 3 most important goals for the week. Step 2: Identify your top 3 priorities this week which will move you towards your desired goals. Step 3: Prioritize your 3 most daily critical tasks that is the things you must do daily to fulfil your top 3 priorities every week. That’s it! You can start today and keep it simple with the rule of 3 in order to overcome overwhelm and feel like you are getting results from what you do in a way that is stress-free. Welcome to episode 122 of the Everyday Life Balance Show and thank-you for listening to today’s podcast. You are probably trying to improve the quality of your life and struggling with it. There are some common proven practices that work with regard to achieving success, however it is a fact that common knowledge is not always common practice. In order to make positive changes in your life, I believe that it is important to return to proven common practices that work with an open mind, as if you were hearing them for the first time. Let me give you an example. Let’s say you know that in order to alleviate stress and avoid burnout you must rest. However, you don’t do it because you might have some common enemies which prevent you from enjoying quality sleep. Your common enemies to sleep deprivation might be: You are always on unable to switch off, you head is always buzzing with data. You believe in busyness that is you are always being engaged in doing something and you feel guilty if there is nothing to do at all. Your headspace is busy worrying about problems as opposed to believing that you can find solutions. You are physically exhausted, aching all over your body, which makes it even harder to relax and recharge your batteries. Common knowledge should not be overlooked and it is very often overlooked and this is a problem. In my opinion it is by cultivating healthy habits on a consistent and repetitive basis that you can experience breakthroughs and improve the quality of your life. Thank-you for listening to today’s episode. Henry Ford said: “If you think you can or you think you can’t you’re right.” This brings me to today’s topic the power of belief in order to make change possible in your life.. Henry Ford’s quote “If you think you can or you think you can’t you’re right” brings the following points to our attention: You are responsible for your own thoughts and beliefs Your own belief system is a representation of your circumstances and conditions. Your own belief system will give you different results depending on what you believe in. On this last point if you believe you can you feel empowered, capable and unstoppable. On the other hand, if you believe you can’t you feel dis-empowered, helpless and irresponsible. What I mean by irresponsible, is that you feel you can not respond adequately to your circumstances, conditions or the change you desire to make in your life. How can you apply positively the power of belief to your own life, I know that your desire is to create more balance and harmony? Your life change success will be determined by the alignment of what you desire with what you believe is possible. In other words, if you desire something and you believe it is not attainable or you cannot make it happen, you’re right it will not manifest or your dream will not come true. However, if you desire something and you believe that your dream can come true you are willing also to make it a reality by overcoming any obstacles which may come your way. In addition to your beliefs, your feelings will play a major role in your success. You know that expression “I’m feeling it!” it means that you intuitively know and sense that it is going to happen and come true. Therefore, when you want something you desire to come true your belief and feelings will have to align with what you desire so that you can take the appropriate result oriented actions. Where I am in the world, London UK, there is a real sense that autumn is here. It always takes some adjustments to move from sunny summer to winter time. The pace of life slows down and it seems as if this time of the year calls particularly for some self-reflection. The famous philosophical writer James Allen said that: “Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.” Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 116 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. If you have the tendency to worry, overthink, you are unable to stop the chatter in your head and as a result you become anxious I would like to share with you in today’s episode 3 powerful ways you can calm your anxious mind. As suggested by James Allen: ”Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.” Therefore, the calmer you become the wiser your become and thus, you can increase your well-being. Constant worry and anxiety have the side effects of depriving you of quality sleep, increasing fatigue and tiredness and preventing you from functioning optimally. I would like to share with you now 3 powerful ways you can calm your anxious mind. The first way to calm your anxious mind is to deepen your breathing. Breathing exercises have the transformational benefit of calming the mind and helping you return to a state of peace. Before you start any breathing exercise it is important to set the intention to focus on the breath and to detach yourself from any thought that comes to your mind. If you find that your mind becomes distracted with too many thoughts, it’s ok just refocus on your breathing. Remember that the focus here is to use the breath in order to calm the mind and find peace. The second way to calm your anxious mind is to change your perception. Your perception is the way you view things. You might be seeing the situation which causes you worry from a place of disempowerment. However, you can look at it from a higher perspective because you can change your state and the way you feel. Changing your perception of a particular problem allows you to look at it differently. For example, a higher perspective is to become solution focused instead of dwelling on a problem. Indeed, finding a solution eases your burden whereas dwelling on the problem increases your anxiety as you go around and around in circle in your mind. If you find it challenging to view the difficulty you face from a higher perspective, it is worth asking a partner, a friend, a family member or a professional for help. The third way to calm your anxious mind is to self-nurture. In today’s episode I am going to share with you how to bridge the gap between setting your goal and achieving your goal. Do you have a dream? For example, are you an aspiring author and you dream of getting published? The main question for reflection is: have you set your vision as a goal...? Most people don’t achieve their dreams because they have not set the intention to make it a goal and they have not taken the time to work out how they are going to achieve it step by step. You bridge the gap between goal setting and goal achieving by taking action. You must identify clearly the steps you need to take to get to your vision and follow through. A dream or vision remains just an idea or wishful thinking if it is not acted upon. It may seem simple or common sense however most people get stuck in the taking action part of goal achievement. They may know what to do however they do not take action. They either procrastinate by postponing until tomorrow their most important tasks. Their perfectionism holds them back as they remain in inaction or they are not confident about the right actions to take next and they are not confident in their actions. All these setbacks can be overcome by seeking help and the expertise of others who have achieved what you want to achieve. I believe that bridging the gap between goal setting and goal achieving relies heavily on making the committed decision: You are going to make your dream (in this example becoming a published author) a reality and that You are willing to go the extra mile to get to your vision. Should you have a recurring dream, idea or vision you are passionate about I would like to invite you today to commit to two things: To make a committed decision that your dream will become a reality You are willing to go the extra mile to get to your vision Imagine that it would feel like to know that you have maximized your potential and succeeded in achieving your purposeful vision. Thank-you for listening to this podcast. I am often asked this question by my clients: “How do you reduce stress?" In his book ‘The Stress Cure’ Patrick Halford demonstrates the stress epidemic in a health survey his company carried out with more than 55,000 participants. His health survey revealed that 72% of the participants felt stressed, while 66% experienced frequent anxiety and tension. Albert Einstein said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. With this quote in mind for positive change and in order to reduce stress you must be willing to do things differently. Where most people get stuck is that they keep doing the same thing over and over again. Thus, they cannot reach different results. I believe that if you are listening to this episode you are willing to do things differently in order to increase your well-being. Which bring me to the first quick way to reduce stress: Identify the stressors A stressor is a source of stress. It is anything that creates stress in your life. According to a research commissioned by the mental health charity Mind work is the biggest factor of stress in people’s lives. Is your stressor work related, related to your personal life or related to your health? Any stressor gives you the impression that you cannot cope. Such an emotion makes you feel exhausted and incapable of functioning. Whatever your stressor may be the best way to respond to your identified stressor is to get to know yourself more. Therefore, the second key way to reduce stress is to get to know yourself more. Get to know yourself more Get to know yourself more from your own experience. We all react differently to stress and some people can handle it better than others. In order to reduce your stress levels, you must know how you personally respond to stress. A key question here is: How do you habitually respond to stress? Do you stop exercising, overindulge, eat junk food, feel overwhelmed or get anxious? Once you have the answer you can change your response to stress by building up your resilience to it. Here are four ways you can build up your resilience to stress. Do you have the tendency to overthink and being ‘switched on’ all the time? Being ‘switched on’ all the time is very tiring for the body and mind and affects your stress hormones. Should you be someone who is ‘switched on’ all the time take some time to put your thoughts on paper; writing and journaling have a very therapeutic effect. Adjust your lifestyle and change your habitual behaviour that generates too much stress. For example, you can review your schedule: Do you pack too many things in during the day? Is your work/life balance in total disharmony with too much emphasis on work and other aspects and areas of your life taking the back seat? If you have the tendency to overdo it or overwork you probably burn out too much energy in one go and then fall flat out. The best solution is to manage your energy by including plenty of energy boosting foods as well as rest and relaxation in your schedule. What would a more balanced schedule look like for you? Get organised by preparing things in advance, your food shopping for example and by identifying what you need to do first. Test your patience: our modern world cries for instant gratification. The problem is that when you expect instant gratification you become impatient. Do you tend to rush, eat quickly, expect to be served NOW, hate queuing and having to wait? Exercising patience allows us to be more mindful of the present moment. Therefore, it is important to rate how patient you are on a scale of 1-10 (1 being not at all - 10 being very patient). Bear in mind that impatience leads to added unnecessary stress. Learn to say ‘no’ to the things you believe would add up to your stress levels. Invest time and money in your health You invest time and money in your health so that you can improve your well-being. It’s time to respond positively to your body’s warning signals. Fatigue, sleepless nights, anxiety, irritability, addiction to stimulants like sugar or coffee are stress related signs that your body is not functioning optimally. Take some time to bring the body and mind into balance by exercising. This could be walking, stretching the body, breathing exercises or gentle cardio exercises etc. Invest in holistic treatments like reflexology, massage, acupuncture etc. They promote real relaxation. It is very important to return to a state of body and mind balance. Taking the time and investing in holistic complementary therapies act as a reminder of the relaxing state your mind and body should be in on a daily basis. In addition, you can introduce breathing meditation so that you can calm the mind. Paying attention to your breathing during the day is also paramount. You might have the tendency to hold the breath when you are too stressed out. I have shared with you three quick ways to reduce stress. However, this is just information if you do not apply it in your daily life. Start making changes today by improving the quality of your life. I suggest that you follow the 3 quick ways to reduce stress in sequential order so that you can return to body and mind balance and regain your zest for life. I hope you enjoyed today’s episode. In today’s episode I want to motivate you to stay on track with the ultimate goal you set out to accomplish at the beginning of the year. You probably had a deserving summer break from the most important goal you desire to achieve this year. However, as we reach September now is a good time to reconcile your thoughts and revive your actions as you start taking progressing steps again. Your ultimate goal might be related to your finances, your relationship, your health, your personal growth, your contribution or you career. However, If you are just back from the summer break or you experienced a slow progress during the summer I would like to encourage you to review and get clear again about 3 things related to your ultimate goal. The best practice is to write down your answers to these 3 questions. What is your ultimate goal and why do you want it? What progressive steps you have taken to date, which have moved you closer to the accomplishment of your ultimate goal? What are the next steps you need to take and when to accomplish your ultimate goal? Remember that what gets scheduled gets done therefore it is very important that you dedicate some time in your diary to the realization of your ultimate goal. What I would recommend is that you take some time this week to sit down and answer the 3 key questions on goal setting and achieving for review and clarity so that you can still realize what you set out to do this year. Here are the 3 key questions again: What is your ultimate goal and why do you want it? What progressive steps you have taken to date, which have moved you closer to the accomplishment of your ultimate goal? In today’s episode I would like to share with you how to measure your level of success. Thank-you for listening to today’s podcast. We all have different definitions of success which are determined by where we all are in life, whether we are in our 20s, 30s, 50s or 60s. However, in accordance with the psychologist Abraham Maslow there are 7 human needs and the top human we are to master is self-actualization. Self-actualization being a self-fulfilment need. Therefore, our desire to maximise our full potential is a natural growth process. Whatever the definition of success might be for you or for a young working mother with 2 children seeking work/life balance, a 30-year-old entrepreneur starting a new business or a professional changing career in their mid-forties the important question is: how could you measure your level of success? Tony Robbins says that success leaves clues. Therefore, the best way to measure your level of success is to tune in and to see whether there are signs or clues that indicate that you have or are succeeding. Let me give you an example: you start climbing a hilly road on your bicycle. It seems to be really hard work and you have two options you either give up half way by getting off the bike and walking up the hilly road pushing the bike or you keep going slowly visioning yourself at the top of the hilly road and riding forward. The clue or sign of success in this example is you reaching the top of the hilly road. Imagine, how you would feel knowing that you did not give up, you kept going and reached a totally satisfying and encouraging result. Should you have a particular goal in mind, now is your turn to determine the signs or clues that would indicate that you have achieved success. Success leaves clues is a very important strategy because it is an indication of the level of success, which is true to you and you only. I hope that you enjoyed today’s episode. There are times when you might feel defeated, nothing seems to be working and you feel stuck, confused and frustrated. In today’s episode I would like to talk to you about how to harness your power of resilience so that you can remain hopeful and motivated to keep going in your quest to create more balance, peace and harmony in your life. Resilience is your ability to spring back up after a major setback. When you face a major setback, you might feel like you make one step forward and three steps back however sometimes it is necessary to view this major setback as something positive. And let me explain, as you step ahead, what might seem like a disruption could mean that something needs to be reviewed in order for you to remain on course. Let me give you an example, let’s say you want to change your career. However, you have reached a point of confusion whereby you don’t know what direction to take in your professional life. This may seem as a setback. You can come out of the confusion victorious by getting more clarity about your intention, end in mind, goals, values, standards and purpose. The clearer you are the more focused, determined and highly accomplished you become in the actions you take. In my opinion, harnessing your power of resilience or ability to recover quickly from a major setback will depend on how much you have developed your ability to think powerfully, to perceive things with wisdom and to respond positively to your life’s challenges. It is important therefore to remember that you biggest lessons in life come from the time you experienced your biggest setbacks. As a result, a setback usually indicates a moment to pause and self-reflect. If you are going through a major setback right now, don’t be discouraged. Mistakes can be considered as feedback or an opportunity to fall forward and grow. Mistakes can also be rectified. The best way to utilize your power of resilience is to keep working on developing your self-management skills and getting all the support your need in order increase your personal success. The question I would like you to consider and answer following today’s topic is the following: What self-management skill do you need to develop so that you can enjoy and experience personal success?The self-management skills I have in mind are positive habits that give you the results that you desire. According to the science of success in order to succeed in any area of your life you must do things in a certain way, in other words you must follow certain success principles which have been proven over and over again. On this subject, I would like to share with you today the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset so that you can increase your happiness and transform the quality of your life. First of all, let me give you a definition of what a mindset is. The Oxford dictionary gives the following definition: habits of mind formed by earlier events. Therefore, it is a habitual way of thinking based on one’s responses to events and circumstances. A growth mindset is therefore a habit of mind which focuses primarily on knowledge, wisdom, expansion, expression and success. Therefore, An individual who develops a growth mindset is willing to learn, to make mistakes, to expand and to grow. On the other hand, a fixed mindset is a habit of mind which focuses on contraction, suppression, ignorance and limitation. An individual who develops a fixed mindset does not see beyond what is, ignores the power of choice, believes that everything is set and cannot be changed and remains in most cases stuck. In order to enjoy more balance and harmony in your life you must start to develop a growth mindset and this starts by accepting change and having a clear vision of what you want for your life. In today’s episode I would like to share with you my answer to the following question you might be asking yourself: What is real balance? In accordance with one’s experience the answer to this question may differ. However, here is my definition of Real balance and I would be delighted to read your comments on this important question. In my opinion, real balance is your ability to create harmony within on a daily basis so that you can create harmony without in most areas of your life. It is therefore an inside job. My big message for you this year is that you are at the centre of change. If intensifying harmony in your life is not a conscious desire you have and a committed decision you make on a daily basis it will be very difficult for you to find peace and experience real balance. Therefore, for the purpose of experiencing real balance, you must keep harmony and inner peace at the forefront of your mind on a daily basis. When you do so any challenge you may be faced with becomes easier to handle. Since real balance is an inside job it requires a more carefree attitude to life. My question for you this week is the following so that you can enjoy everyday life balance: On a scale of 1 to 10 to what extent do you want to enjoy harmony and peace within so that you can experience harmony and peace without and as a result enjoy real balance in your life on a daily basis? (1 being not at all and 10 being greatly) Your action step is to take some time to reflect on this question and to consider the different ways you can enjoy more peace and harmony within. How to lead a balanced life and spring into wellness, success, happiness and overcome stress. This really matters if you live in a very big city like London. How to build your self-esteem and confidence so that you can accomplish your goal effortlessly. You also learn the secrets to creating positive change in your life that stick, as well as Your freedom formula: Love + Peace = Total Well-being For the 100th anniversary of the Everyday Life Balance Show I invited Chris James, Ivona Gordon and Silvana Avram to share with you their own definition of everyday life balance as well as their own rituals to enhance a life in balance.. However, all this information becomes useless if you do not take action and apply it to your own life. Therefore, you must ensure that you apply what you learn to your own situation and circumstances. Your main goal now until the end of the year is to remain focused. Indeed, what might stop you from creating the change that you desire and accomplishing your goal this year is the likelihood of returning to old habits. Old habits creep back in when you least expect it. This forward action step is to ensure that your new positive habit becomes a new routine. For example, if something troubles you and you want to find a solution: change your perception that is the way you look at the problem in the first place. This could be from a place of understanding that this particular problem serves a purpose and therefore identifying and working with the lesson to be learnt in this particular situation for the purpose of growth. Or you might want to improve your health, what is the one change you are willing to make today to dramatically improve your health? As you know I am passionate about personal development In last week’s episode I shared with you The 3 Key Traits of Highly Successful People and I mentioned also that at the foundation of any success is the development of 6 intellectual faculties. We are powerful beyond measure and we hardly use our full intellectual or mental capabilities. You might want to improve your life or change your results however you might be stuck because you have not learnt yet how to develop the 6 missing pieces to your success which form part of your creative power. These missing pieces are the 6 powerful intellectual faculties you must harness and develop now in order to transform your results and your life. Most human beings are conditioned to live and operate with their 5 senses: we see, smell, taste, touch and hear. However, we are also fortunate enough to have within us 6 powerful higher mind’s faculties that you need to use more and more consciously in order to transform your results much faster. And let me share with you what they are, these are: Reason Imagination Intuition Memory Perception Will Before I describe each mental faculty individually and what they can do for you when you enhance them I would like to tell you first why they are important. You see the 6 higher mind’s faculties: Imagination, Reason, Intuition, Memory, Perception and Will enable you to expand and grow in awareness. The more you make use of them, the more you grow in wisdom. And it is your wisdom which enables you to experience the various positive changes you want to make in your life: more fulfilment and happiness as well as overcome any obstacle much faster. It is important therefore that you start developing these higher faculties inside so that from now on they play a bigger role in your life. Let’s start with The 1th powerful intellectual faculty: Reason One of my mentors Bob Proctor always says that most people do not know how to think, really think properly. Your reasoning factor is the mental tool that you think with. It is your ability to think with the aim of obtaining a clear outcome. Therefore, it is your enhanced ability to choose your thoughts. Have you harnessed your reasoning factor? Do you take time to think, really think…? Remember that you become what you think about. In this light, what do you think about most of the time? Do you use this mental tool reasoning in a way that is mindful and conscious? The 2nd powerful intellectual faculty is: Imagination Albert Einstein said that: “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” Imagination is your mind expanding, expressing, learning and growing. As you know children are always full of imagination and I invite you as adults to let your imagination run wild. This is particularly important when you face a difficult problem, allow yourself to imagine how you could get through it with more ease and imagine a positive outcome. What you put your energy on grows, therefore the more you imagine a positive outcome the more you can shift the energy around your existing challenge. The 3rd powerful intellectual faculty is: Memory Memory is a mental muscle that you must exercise in order to improve your memory. There is a lot of information on how to improve your memory on the web. This mental faculty can also serve you well. What I mean is that memory can increase your ability to use past experiences positively. There is a lesson in everything we experience in life. You can therefore use your memory in order to advance. For example, there might be things in your life you do not wish to repeat and in this instance your memory of the past serves you well. The 4th powerful intellectual faculty is: Intuition It is your gut feeling, your intuitive sense which you might need to trust more and more if you realize that you intuitively thought of something, it happened however you did not follow through. It could also be a great idea that comes to mind then you forget about it. Most people are very intuitive however the difference lies in the degree to which they follow and trust their intuition. I recommend that you carry with you a note book and write down all of the ideas that come to you, failing that you can also use the note section on your mobile phone. The 5th powerful intellectual faculty is: Perception This higher mind’s faculty alone can bring you peace of mind. It is your point of view, the way you see or perceive things. In order to transform your life, it is important to choose to see things differently; in a more supportive and solution-focused manner. If something bothers you, change your perception. Wayne Dyer said: “When you change the way you look at things the things you look at change.” Remember that you have the right to change your mind…Try it today! And lastly the 6th intellectual faculty is the: Will This is not what you think. You probably believe that it is about will power. The will is in fact your ability to focus. With regard to transforming and improving your results, what truly matters here is what you put your focus on. The will gives you clarity: once you are clear about your goal, your dream or end in mind you can then focus on accomplishing it. Without the will or focus it is very difficult to reach your desired outcome and to stay clear of distractions. Knowing about the 6 powerful intellectual faculties you already possess is not enough. In order to adopt a winning attitude, I highly recommend that you work on learning, harnessing and developing the 6 powerful intellectual faculties I have just shared with you today. In order to be the best, you can be and increase what you are capable of accomplishing in your life develop your 6 higher mind’s faculties today so that you can start transforming your life and results much faster. Do you ever wonder how highly successful people reach the peak of success? In today’s episode I would like to share with you three key traits of highly successful people. The main reason why this knowledge is important is because highly successful people do things in a certain way and when you model their traits you can certainly improve your own results in life. Thank-you for listening to today’s episode. You are listening to this episode perhaps because you made new year resolutions back in January and you are not seeing much progress, or perhaps there is one or all areas of your life you would like to change or improve so that you can double your happiness or fulfilment. With regard to where you are right now and where you want to be the 3 key traits of highly successful people I am about to share with you will help you get there faster. The purpose of today’s episode is to help you apply some of those traits with ease as you move towards creating more balance and happiness in your life. The first trait of highly successful people is that they are self-realized: what do I mean by that. Highly successful people always want to better themselves in order to improve their relationships with others and their results in life. They always show up at their best, they give 110% and they are always 100% committed. Their intention is to reach excellence. How could you apply this trait to your own life? For example, you have a specific goal which is to improve your relationships. How could you improve yourself and your behavioural pattern, so that you can harmonise your relationship with others? There might be other areas you want to improve your vocation for example or your finances, your health and well-being, or spirituality and contribution I want you to think of three steps you could take today to be the best you can be in your chosen area of improvement The second trait of highly successful people is their self-responsibility: they know how to take their life to the next level by applying the 6 intellectual faculties: imagination, intuition, will, memory, reason and perception. If you want to transform your life dramatically you must enhance these 6 powerful intellectual faculties. I will cover them in more details in next week’s episode so stay tuned. Let’s take an example regarding increasing your self-responsibility: Let’s take an example: How could you be more responsible for your finances. How could you be financially free or create more financial abundance in your life? Do you tend to keep track of finances or you do leave the bills unopened when they come through the mail? If it is the latter, It’s time to take responsibility for your finances and act on the two previous questions.. The third trait of highly successful people is that they are self-disciplined: indeed, it requires a lot of discipline to achieve one’s goal or to fulfil one’s dream. Highly successful people are masters at giving themselves a command and then following it to completion. What most people do is to give up half way through or after just a few steps. However, without focus, without following a clear plan and taking action success remains just an illusion and is far from reality. In the light of your own definition of success how could please be more self-disciplined so that you can get the results that you desire. Since you want to live a balanced life what are three ways could you be more self-disciplined in order to fulfil your dream? This could mean managing your activities better, giving yourself a command and following it to completion, amending something in your home you told yourself you would fix countless of times with no result, monitoring what you eat at lunch time at work etc. I hope that you enjoyed today’s episode and that you choose to apply these 3 traits in your life so that you can transform your results and as a consequence improve your life, double your happiness and fulfilment.
