Pedalboard Check Teil 2 In Folge 12 seht ihr den zweiten Teil unseres Pedalboard Checks mit Enrico Coromines und Florian Pöschko, in dem es um Chorus, Leslie, Verzerrer, Delay, Reverb und Stromversorgung geht. Neben seinen Tätigkeiten als Dozent am Music-College Hannover und an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig beschäftigt sich Florian bereits seit langer Zeit mit der technischen Seite der E-Gitarre, Amps und Pedalen. Nach dem wir uns im ersten Teil mit seinem umgebauten Mesa Boogie Lonestar, dem selbst entworfenen Wah Wah, dem "Bias to the Fuzz", einem Dual Tubescreamer, dem Pete Cornish Buffer und dem Xotic SP Compressor beschäftigt haben, geht es in Teil 2 mit den Xotic Drives weiter. Verzerrer und Booster Den Xotic SL Drive nutzt Florian auch wegen seiner Marshall Qualitäten, um dem Mesa ein ordentliches Rock Brett zu entlocken. Hier wird nun wie im ersten Teil angesprochen mit der Platzierung des Kompressors gespielt - vor und hinter einer Verzerrstufe. Der Kompressor nach einem Verzerrer Pedal kann - auch bei gemäßigter Lautstärke - einen komprimierenden Amp simulieren. Anschließend geht das Signal in einen EP Booster von Xotic. Dieser Booster dickt das Signal nach Bedarf an, wobei unter der Haube noch weitere Switches zur Soundformung bereit liegen. Chorus vor oder nach dem Verzerrer? Der Choralflange liegt klassisch nach der Verzerrstufe und vor Delay und Reverb. Sehr interessant ist allerdings die eher ungewöhnliche Schaltung von Chorus vor der Verzerrung. Dies demonstriert uns Florian mit Hilfe des Zerrkanals seines Amps. Einschleifweg - ja oder nein? Die Modulationseffekte, Delay und Hall liegen bei Florian vor dem Amp. Oft werden diese Geräte auch in den Einschleifweg gepackt - muss aber nicht sein. Bei dieser Frage sollte man sicherstellen, dass der Send und Return Weg des Amps richtig und verlustarm hinsichtlich Pegel und Impendanz funktioniert und so mit den eingeschliffenen Geräten harmoniert. Leslie Als weiteren Modulationseffekte hat Florian einen Strymon Lex Rotary auf dem Board, dessen Effekt er schön demonstriert. Delay Als Echo Gerät kommt das Strymon El Capitan zum Einsatz, welches schöne analoge Tape Delay Sounds liefert. Florian zeigt damit auch einen atmosphärischen Space Sound. Reverb Das Strymon Flint ist Florians Hall Gerät, bei dem man die Abklingzeit sehr lange einstellen kann. Stromversorgung Um den Geräten die richtige Stromstärke und die korrekte Spannung zu liefern greift Florian auf ein Voodoo Lab Mondo zurück. Pedalboard Check In Folge 11 haben wir Florian Pöschko zum Pedalboard Check zu Gast. Neben seinen Tätigkeiten als Dozent am Music-College Hannover und an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig beschäftigt sich Florian bereits seit langer Zeit mit der technischen Seite der E-Gitarre, Amps und Pedalen. Teil 1/2: Pedale vor dem AmpIm ersten Teil geht es um Amp, Lautsprecher, Wah Wah, Fuzz, Buffer, Tubescreamer und Kompressor. Die restlichen Geräte schauen wir uns in der nächsten Folge an. Amp und Pedalboard Wir schauen uns zuerst mal seinen umgebauten Mesa Boogie Lonestar an, den er an seine Bedürfnisse anpassen ließ. Die verschiedenen Potiknöpfe fallen gleich ins Auge, die die Bedienung auf der Bühne sicher vereinfachen. Das Topteil wird über eine offene 1x12 Box gespielt, in der der originale 1x12" Mesa Black Shadow Lautsprecher sitzt. Auf seinem Pedalboard finden sich einige bewährte Xotic und Strymon Klassiker. Exotischer wird's bei Florians selbst entworfenen Designs. Er hat sich intensiv mit Wah Wah Pedalen auseinandergesetzt und wickelt auch selbst Spulen, um den legendären Sound der Clyde McCoy Wahs nachzuempfinden. Eine weitere Besonderheit ist das "Bias to the Fuzz" Germanium Fuzz Pedal, das ein Pre Gain Control bietet und darüberhinaus Einstellmöglichkeiten für den Bias - die Betriebsspannung, da die Betriebsdaten von Germanium Transistoren temperaturabhängig sind.Über das Wah Wah und das Fuzz geht es zuerst in einen Pete Cornish Buffer. Florian Pöschko hat einen interessanten Artikel zu Buffer in einem Sonderheft von Gitarre & Bass veröffentlicht. Sehr lesenswert! Sehr interessant ist auch der Dual Tubescreamer, der einem Vintage TS 808 und einem TS 9 eine neue gemeinsame Heimat gibt. Hier kann man auch wählen, in welcher Reihenfolge die beiden Overdrive Pedale geschaltet werden. Außerdem ist das Gerät True Bypass. Abschließend führt uns Florian noch seinen Xotic SP Kompressor vor, der interessanterweise zwischen dem Dual Tubescreamer und den anderen Overdrive/Distortion Pedalen sitzt, um den Kompressor sowohl vor als auch nach einer Verzerrstufe einsetzen zu können. They appear with Aledort on a cut from his upcoming studio album.Andy Aledort performs regularly in the tri-state area with his band, the Groove Kings, and are looking to expand their touring parameters. They released an acclaimed studio album, Put A Sock In It, a few years ago, and released a equally highly-regarded live album, Live at North Star, in 2009.

Mr. Rajiv Sehgal had one big dream, to build a consumer brand. This is his story of how he built Jeeru with his kids. He came from humble beginnings, worked for a few years, and saved up his money to fund his vision.  He first started off in packaged drinking water but realised that the unorganised sector was filled with thousands of brands like his. Knowing he couldn't compete with the big three kinley, aquafina, and bisleri— he started thinking along the lines of, what value can be added to water? Mr. Sehgal started searching for a beverage that had no established brand leadership. He landed up on Jeera Masala. There were thousands of Jeera masala brands in the country but none of them had any national significance. Thus, Jeeru was born. Soon after, Anika joined the family businesses. Her job was to expand Jeeru's visibility in the market. She started a successful incentive programme for the sales team by providing daily grocery items such as rice and cooking oil. She is also the face behind Jeeru's strength in modern retail.  They didn't just want to push sales by offering margins, so they decided to innovate. They started selling Jeeru in cans and as people started noticing the product— distributors started paying attention. Within two years, Jeeru started contributing over 11 percent of beverage sales for Future Retail. From ₹10 crore in 2010-11, Xotik Frujus has grown to a revenue of ₹72.95 crore in 2019-20. Jeeru started out as being a Mumbai and Surat based brand but now it has a pan India presence. Even airports sell a premium version of Jeeru. In fact, the brand gets exported to the UK, Middle East, and Africa.After Anikta, her younger sister Vishaka followed suit and she manages general trade. Their brother Dishank has been the last to join and is focusing on diversifying the business by launching Xotic cafes. He was also instrumental in driving the brand's partnership with 82.5 communications. The family's dedication to Jeeru and the fact that we all love it is sending out a clear message— the story of Jeeru has many more chapters in store for us! Exotischer wird's bei Florians selbst entworfenen Designs wie dem selbst entwickelten Wah Wah, dem "Bias to the Fuzz", einem Dual Tubescreamer und dem Choralflange. DEAN BROWN is a deep cat — a fact any music lover could infer with a quick glance at Dean’s résumé, because the guitarist has not only worked with everyone from Roberta Flack, Michael Brecker, and Eric Clapton to Billy Cobham, Joe Zawinul and Marcus Miller, he’s also just released his fifth solo album, which is a genre-defying sonic odyssey called Rolajafufu. Kenny is a Session Touring Guitarist, Recording Artist, Educator, and Clinician. He is a Product Specialist for both Taylor Guitars and Xotic Guitars Effects. Kenny’s recording credits include The Voice, One Life To Live, Disney, X Factor, True Blood, Hunger Games (TV show), Dominos Pizza, and Sons of Anarchy. His touring credits include performing with an eclectic group of artists including Taylor Dayne, U-KISS, Kamran Hooman, Jake Simpson and many more. Let me tell you a little bit about Xotic Guitars Effects, the company that Kenny represents. For nearly 20 years, Xotic has been a leading innovator in sound, design, and tone. The roots of Xotic go back to a small garage in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California, back in 1996. The one-man company began by producing and designing high-quality bass guitars and preamps. The company grew slowly and steadily over the next 10 years… and went on to release the Xotic AC Booster, RC Booster, and BB Preamp. As Xotic's brand came to be more recognized throughout the market, the demand for its products became too great to stay working out of their tiny garage in San Fernando Valley. As the Quilter Block Party started to wrap up, we sat down with Kenny Echizen of Xotic. We've known about their effects for awhile, but what we learned was a bit about their history as a guitar manufacturer.

In this second part of the interview we talk to Stefan Kéry about Subliminal Sounds as a reissue label. In the mid 80’s a “psychedelic community” started to take form in Stockholm around Stefan and other musicians, writers and friends interested in psychedelic culture. Many of the musicians would also release their music on Subliminal Sounds (see part one of this interview). This “commune” was named the “Lumber Island Acid Crew” (coined as somewhat of a joke by Patrick Lundborg), and where a gathering of friends to explore the realms of psychedelia while listen to rare and at that time unknown records, many of which later found their way into the well-known Acid Archives book. Stefan, being one of the most hard-core collector among them, introduced many new rare records to the group, which he had acquired through dealers around the world. He also located many of these artists and in some cases this contact lead to a reissue of the LP on his label. This did not only spread the music to a much wider audience but also gave the artists a change to tell their story for the first time. The music in the episode is rather diverse stretching from outsider psych-country to lounge-psych and murky downer folk but they are all connected through Stefan’s interest in the weird and esoteric. Stefan Kéry runs the independent record label Subliminal Sounds, which releases both contemporary psychedelic music as well as reissuing rare and unknown LP’s from the golden age of psychedelia. He is also known as one of the top psych collectors, who already in the 80’s started to collect obscure records. In the first part of the interview we go back to the early 90’s and talk about the start of Subliminal Sounds and listen to some of the artists released on the label at that time. Stefan got the idea to start the record label in the late 80’s with the intention of releasing music made by friends sharing the same interest in psychedelic culture as him. This idea still lives on 26 years after the first release, while Subliminal Sounds from the mid 90’s also has expanded to make reissues of rare and obscure psychedelia, which will be the focus of the second part of this interview.
