    Ivy Insights

The Keep Calm and Cook On with Julia Turshen podcast is an absolute gem. Julia's conversations with her guests are not only interesting but also incredibly informative. She has a way of making her guests feel comfortable and allowing them to share their knowledge and personal experiences generously. I have listened to about 10 episodes so far, and each one has been a delight.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the diversity of guests that Julia brings on. From cookbook authors to food journalists to chefs, there is always someone fascinating to listen to. Each guest offers a unique perspective on food and cooking, and I have learned so much from their insights. Additionally, Julia herself is a captivating host. She shares her own thoughts and experiences in such a genuine and relatable way, making each episode feel like a conversation between friends.

Another great aspect of this podcast is the theme-based series that Julia does. It adds another layer of depth and cohesiveness to the episodes. Whether it's discussing romance novels or diet culture, each series explores a specific topic in a thought-provoking manner. The episodes within these series build upon each other, creating a comprehensive exploration of the subject at hand.

As for the worst aspects of this podcast, it's honestly hard to find any significant flaws. Some listeners might prefer a faster-paced podcast, as some have mentioned that they find the pacing slow compared to other shows. However, I believe that the slower pace allows for more meaningful conversations and deeper reflection on the topics discussed.

Overall, The Keep Calm and Cook On with Julia Turshen podcast is an absolute joy to listen to. It is both fun and informative, providing valuable insights into the world of food and cooking while also offering comfort and inspiration. Julia's warmth as a host shines through in every episode, making it feel like you're sitting down with a friend for an enlightening conversation about food.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who loves food, cooking, and meaningful conversations. Julia Turshen's engaging hosting style and the diverse range of guests make for a truly enjoyable listening experience. Whether you're a seasoned chef or just beginning to explore the kitchen, The Keep Calm and Cook On with Julia Turshen podcast is sure to leave you feeling inspired and eager to try new recipes.

'Great Chefs' was a series of cooking shows and cookbooks that made over 700 episodes. Each episode was recorded entirely in a professional kitchen rather than a production studio, and each consisted of 3 segments— an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. Each dish was made by a different chef and the whole thing was super straight-forward. No bells or whistles or fancy camerawork or anything. Just straight-up cooking. And the instructions were incredibly clear thanks to the voiceover work of the one and only Mary Lou Conroy. In her thick Louisiana accent, Mary Lou described everything the chefs were doing.Watching 'Great Chefs' was Julia's cooking education. She connected with Mary Lou Conroy, who is now 91 years old, to talk about the role of food in Mary Lou's life, her love of travel and reading, and what makes her excited during this chapter of her life. There is also a shoutout to the MiNO Foundation (Made in New Orleans) and answers to listeners' questions about vegan cooking with responses from Timothy Pakron (Mississippi Vegan) and Jenné Claiborne (Sweet Potato Soul).Follow-up links:'Great Chefs' official website.Watch 'Great Chefs' on Amazon Prime.Eater: 'Great Chefs' is Amazon Prime's Best Kept Culinary SecretMiNO FoundationJenné Claiborne: Sweet Potato SoulTimothy Pakron: Mississippi VeganOxoJulia Turshen
