I'm honored to be joined by Dylo Cadet to discuss his recent book, In the Name of "Mission Work." Dylo is a native Haitian who was raised in a loving Christian family. For almost a decade he has worked with different mission agencies from the Anabaptist denomination. He is a husband and a young father of two. Dylo firmly believes that truth is our most important weapon in combatting any type of evil. In this book, he wishes to help arm the public with firsthand knowledge of how he has witnessed authority being misused in the context of the church and mission works. Hoping to nudge our community towards awareness and accountability. You can get a copy of Dylo's book here. You can access the expanded portion where we discuss what CAM should have done here. I'm excited to have my uncle-in-law, friend, and colleague on the podcast to discuss his work with Hope Journey Guide in mentoring men who struggle with unwanted sexual behaviors. More recently, he has started training others who want to help mentor those struggling. If you find yourself committing sexual behaviors you don't want to do, or if you desire to help others find freedom from such sexual behaviors, this episode is for you! *As a heads up -- we botched the audio and video on this one, so it's not the best quality. But it was good enough I decided to go ahead with it. Sorry about that! If you want to know more about Arthur and his work, visit www.hopejourneyguide.com. One of the key premises of www.TheLiveFreeBook.com is that when we are compromising sexually, we do so because of deep insecurities we feel. It's no secret that discussions on social media can be extremely volatile and toxic. What's really sad is when even Christians get caught up in arguments and attacks. I'm honored to have a new friend on the pod who has modeled to me what it looks like to disagree while still showing respect and love. Seth Richey doesn't always agree with everything I say. He has challenged me and added good counter perspective, but he always does it in love. I want to be more like Seth. We spend 30 minutes discussing how to know which conversations to enter on social media, which is available for members of Unfeigned Christianity. There's a lot of talk about deconstruction. Some people find it dangerous and concerning. Others just are in a season of re-evaluating what they were taught or what they believe. Is deconstruction bad? What if we find ourselves in a season of "deconstruction"? How do we navigate it? What if we know others who are "deconstructing"? How do we walk with them? Especially if we see them coming to dangerous conclusions -- how do we walk with them? In this episode, I'm honored to be joined by my brother to discuss how we can walk ourselves (or with others) as we/they deconstruct. There is another half of this episode available for members of Unfeigned Christianity. If you'd like to become a member and access all our content, visit www.asherwitmer.com/member. Maybe you've wondered why I spend time discussing racial issues. In this episode I explain why. Contrary to some opinions, I don't discuss issues of race because I am trying to be woke or listen to left-wing media (I addresssed issues of race long before such accusations were trendy). I address these issues because central to the Gospel message is how Jesus has torn down walls of ethnic division and oppression. Grab your Bibles, and let's dive into Ephesians. Over the course of the articles, I've received a number of questions and comments that I thought I'd take some time to respond to via a podcast episode. In this episode we address some of the major concerns people have with CRT and how to frame the conversation in a way that gives clarity for processing the theory as Christians.
