Five-time NASCAR Mexico Series champion Rubén García Jr. joins Davey Segal (6:00) to reminisce on days gone by and look ahead to the NASCAR Cup Series' inaugural trip to Mexico City. He updates us on what he's been up to since returning to Mexico, if he feels like the Jimmie Johnson of the Mexico Series, how the competition compares to that of stock car racing in the United States, why he feels like the Mexico Series feels like late model racing and the “Winston Cup mindset,” doing more with less, how much Mexican racing fans follow racing in America, differences in race strategy, how well known Daniel Suarez is to Mexicans and more. García Jr. also explains his thought process in coming to the U.S. to participate in the Rev Racing Drive for Diversity program in the 2010s, what the entire experience was like, pulling double duty in the states and Mexico a few times and the relief of finally winning a K&N Pro Series race. He also discusses his upbringing in motorsports, highlights an oval or two in Mexico that may be suitable for the Cup Series, his limited experience racing in the national series and why he'd love an opportunity to return to America to try his hand at NASCAR in the states again. Plus, the deal that came close to being done to put him in a competitive Cup car at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and what fans and drivers alike can expect when they arrive at the track. Davey also recaps Denny Hamlin's Michigan win, looks ahead to Mexico City and Papa Segal pays homage to a namesake of the circuit this weekend in CDMX.

The reigning CARS Tour champion reflected on his two wins up to this point in the season at Daytona International Speedway and Kansas Speedway, which he said did not expect.  He also discussed how he's still a late model driver still at heart and spoke about the platform FOX Sports 1 gave the CARS Tour during NASCAR All-Star Weekend, as well as if he's reached out to Waffle House about sponsorship. NASCAR Mailbox: Was Stenhouse's Wreck Hocevar's Fault or a Racing Incident?Frontstretch's Kevin Nix answers this week's question for NASCAR Mailbox. Wyatt Watson then joins Nolen to take a look at What's Still Hot, discussing the ratings after the second race broadcast by new TV partner Amazon Prime Video compared to the previous week's Coca-Cola 600 and the numbers from last year's Nashville Superspeedway race. They look ahead to what the future numbers could be in the next two weeks at Michigan International Speedway and Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.  The soundbite of the week features an angry Ricky Stenhouse Jr. after being spun by Carson Hocevar, who is no stranger to making other drivers angry on the track. Round 20 of the 2023 Formula 1 season saw action in sunny Mexico City around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit, which threw plenty of heat at the cars over the course of the weekend. That meant high degradation on the tires, and little in the way of clean air for the cars to enjoy. We saw yet another lap 1, turn 1 incident punish an overly aggressive move by Sergio Perez hoping to take advantage of a tremendous start, unfortunately leading to his retirement from the race in front of his home crowd. The front of the pack was quickly filled by the Ferrari and Mercedes cars vying for podium spots behind Verstappen, who took his record breaking 16th win of the season. A strong race from Hamilton saw him taking P2, while the race's pole sitter, Leclerc, held on for P3.
