In een artikel in de regionale pers wordt gezegd dat de grotere vogels, zoals eksters, kraaien en gaaien verantwoordelijk zijn voor het doden van de kleine tuinvogels. Olympiër en voormalig profwielrenster Vera Koedooder ging op zaterdag 5 april in Grand Café de Brink in Dwingeloo op de reünie avond van de Ronde van Drenthe in gesprek met de ‘koningin van Drenthe' Femmy van Issum, Hennie Kuiper, Han Vaanhold, Chantal Beltman en Christine Mos. Het werd een terugblik op 65 jaar Ronde van Drenthe, de iconische koers die helaas sinds dit jaar niet meer bestaat in wedstrijdvorm. Helaas geen Women's World Tour meer sinds 2024 en geen Albert Achterhes Profronde van Drenthe (UCI 1.1 mannen) sinds 2023. In de plaats daarvan werd het een breedtesport weekend met twee toertochten op 5 en 6 april. Vera reed zelf ook mee in de toertocht op zaterdagochtend met een groep oud-wielrensters en voormalig ploeggenoten zoals Ghita en Chantal Beltman, Christine Mos, Yvonne Brunen en anderen. ‘s Avonds werd de dag gezellig afgesloten met een buffet en dus ook deze podcastshow welke Vera mocht verzorgen. Het gesprek ging over verschillende hoogte -en dieptepunten en mooie anekdotes vanuit verschillende perspectieven. Daarnaast riep Femmy iedereen op om leuke en bijzondere anekdotes over de Ronde van Drenthe te mailen naar mail@rondevandrenthe.nl. De mooiste anekdotes zullen dan worden gebundeld in een boek over de Ronde van Drenthe. We often do not realize that deep down economics is a battleground of competing anthropologies: implicit or explicit theories of human nature, selfhood and subjectivity, quiet beliefs about how we understand ourselves and our place in the world. In this podcast we bring together researchers from different disciplines that study economic phenomena, systems, agency and behavior, ranging from historians and political philosophers to economic anthropologists and development economists, to scrutinize the protagonist of their discipline: who is the Real Homo Economicus? What kinds of creature are they? What drives their choices and behavior? Are we still talking about the same creature? To get the conversation started we use an experimental method: the Mythlab method. We use stories as a probe into economic thinking and quiet beliefs about the underlying anthropologies. In each episode we give our guest a story and see how they respond to it, and explore assumptions and associations in a playful way. In this fourth and final episode we play with fables, short moralistic tales, often featuring animals, but always addressing a deeper human truth. We talk about The Dog and the Piece of Meat, The Wolf and the Crane, The Hawk and the Nightingale, The Hen with the Golden Eggs, The Cricket and the Ant. What is the moral of these stories? What can animal stories tell us about human nature? And what kind of world is the world of the fable? I try to make sense of these fables with Huub Brouwer. Dr. Huub Brouwer is assistant professor of ethics and political philosophy at Tilburg University. His research is on theories of distributive justice, particularly on desert, responsibility-sensitive egalitarianism, and taxation. Tom Bishop had a stellar season on the ITU circuit in 2017 and represented Team England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. But after chasing the Olympic dream for years, he made the switch to middle/long distance racing at the end of 2022. In 2023 the Leeds-based athlete finished second at Clash Miami, before wins at Challenge Puerto Varas and Challenge Wales. 'I think it's something that's forced on you more than is needed.
