You can consider this episode an early Christmas present from us. Seriously, it's that good. I'm not kidding, listen to the whole thing, then you'll know what Jon and Fintan are eulogising about in the intro [0:00 – 26:44]. And wait til you get to the DHL story! Mindblowing. This episode's guest is Keith O'Loughlin, a veteran of the gambling industry and author of a new book Eddie Jordan: Full Throttle. They explore the life lessons learned from Eddie Jordan's experiences, the impact of Keith's book and its charitable contributions, and insights into business and sponsorships. The conversation emphasises the importance of empathy, motivation, and the belief that one person can make a difference in the world.Keith also explains the huge role Eddie played in former F1 world champion and all-round legend Michael Schumacher's career, and regales us with some frankly wonderful stories from their friendship and business dealings – including the time they almost bought Playtech… [26:45 – 1:29:34]Choice quotes:"What would Eddie Jordan do?""It's a three-step plan.""He was a talent scout.""We cycled all over the world.""We were fucking doing it.""Eddie was the first person to give Michael Schumacher a drive."Keith O'Loughlin on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/keitholoughlin/As ever, we thank all of our sponsors for their vibrant and excellent support. They are truly the Eddie Jordan to our Michael Schumacher. No, hang on, that can't be right. In no particular order they are: the mighty EveryMatrix – the industry go-to for sportsbook platforms and data feeds. EveryMatrix's coverage is so damn good, they're gaining tier-1 operators all the time. Optimove, who turn customer data into something special, with tools that make businesses just plain work better. Optimove, your support helps us to keep creating content for an industry that probably thinks we disappeared years ago. Then of course there is Clarion Gaming, providers of the magnificent ICE expo (January '26 in Barcelona) and iGB Live! in London. There is simply nobody better at what they do.The Gambling Files podcast delves into the business side of the betting world. Since we started covering the business of sports betting and gaming almost five years ago, experts in the space have talked to us about exploiting the omnichannel opportunities. Among the operators which are delivering that combination of land-based and digital gaming is BetMGM. Hence, the maiden appearance of chief revenue officer Matt Prevost on a new episode of the Gaming News Canada Show presented by Bede Gaming. Prevost talked about the reaction from customers to the launch earlier this year of Live from Vegas, a casino-floor studio inside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas that produces – with support from gaming industry supplier Playtech – live streaming interactive table games to its digital players. Prevost also talked about the popularity of the company's Family Feud and The Price is Right products, the result of BetMGM acquiring the rights to the iconic television shows at the beginning of 2025. The conversation also got into sports wagering, including an early look at the Super Bowl and NFL betting so far this season, and, of course, the Toronto Blue Jays' run to an epic World Series and the impact that had on BetMGM bettors in Ontario's regulated marketplace. We also asked the head revenue guy if BetMGM's attitude towards prediction markets have changed since CEO Adam Greenblatt addressed them during an earnings call in October. Hosted on Acast. The Labour Day weekend was still in our rearview mirror (although we had to squint to see it. . . ) when Absolutebet Corp announced it had been given the green light by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to get its licence to thrill for iGaming Ontario and join the province's highly competitive sports betting and online gaming market. So, we invited the co-founder and director of Absolutebet, Chen Truman, to be our guest on the latest episode of the Gaming News Canada. Truman is no newcomer to the business of gaming, having spent almost 15 years at Playtech including four years as a product manager. The other co-founder of Absolutebet, Benjamin Truman, founded Media Troopers and Red Apple Tech Group. Chen Truman covered an array of topics with us, including the lengthy registration process with the AGCO, the motivation to bring its mobile-first product to Ontario, the decision for Absolutebet to focus on igaming when it launches, and what it believes will differentiate its brand from the competition in perhaps the world's most robust legal online gambling marketplace. Some 3 ½ years into Ontario's regulated online gambling industry, 51 operators (including the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation/OLG) are doing business with less than a half-dozen departures since the market launched in April 2022. We've been told by several sources that more operators are a coming to perhaps the most competitive regulated marketplace on the planet. And we know, because its intrepid leaders have said so publicly, that High Roller Technologies is poised to join the party. Hence, our motivation to have gaming industry veterans Ben Clemes and Seth Young be our guests on a new episode of the Gaming News Canada Show. Clemes, who joined High Roller as chief executive officer in January 2024, is a former executive with the Gaming Innovation Group and is an investment and portfolio partner with HappyHour.io. Young, High Roller's chief strategy officer, is the former chief innovation officer at PointsBet and currently sits on the board of directors at EQL Games, Kinectify and Kindbridge Behavioral Health. The pair, speaking with host Steve McAllister from Las Vegas, answered the host's questions about High Roller's road to regulation and its hopes of launching in Ontario before year's end. Carlo Scappaticci, another experienced hand in the business of gaming, has been named managing director for High Roller's Canadian operations. Clemes told McAllister the company will be putting additional staff in place here, and the company has already announced partnerships with Playtech and Kinectify for its Ontario business. Both Clemes and Young spoke about the opportunity for success in a crowded market, and shared their thoughts on the Ontario model. That, of course, led to a conversation on the incoming Alberta market, which Young and Clemes are following. The popularity of igaming with Ontarians, carving out a niche in a busy market, and exploiting artificial intelligence also came up during our conversation. Hosted on Acast. Q3-rapporten visade tillväxt men lite svagare lönsamhet. The UK economic landscape is currently marked by mixed signals, particularly regarding inflation and labour market dynamics. The Bank of England's (“BoE”) more hawkish member, Catherine Mann, remains sceptical about the disinflation process, highlighting persistent wage pressures that could take years to subside. Despite recent inflation data showing a slight dip, with July's rate coming in at 2.2%, lower than expected, and a softening in services prices, Mann's concerns echo broader caution within the BoE. Market expectations have echoed the recent cooling of wage growth and inflation, which now fully price in two BoE rate cuts by year-end, although the timing of these cuts remains debated.Stocks featured:Just Group, Playtech and Crest NicholsonTo find out more about the investment management services offered by Walker Crips, please visit our website:https://www.walkercrips.co.uk/ Hosted on Acast. Galaxy Gaming CEO Matt Reback joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company's focus on table games for both land-based casinos and online platforms. Based in Las Vegas, Galaxy Gaming has been in business for approximately 30 years, originating from the creation of the Lucky Ladies side bet. The company now offers a variety of games, including felt games, electronic table games, and interactive table games. Galaxy Gaming's products are distributed globally, with installations in over 600 casinos and 76 cruise ships. The company offers traditional games like blackjack and baccarat, as well as proprietary games such as Easy Baccarat and Heads Up Hold'em. Known for its popular side bets, Galaxy Gaming holds five of the top seven blackjack side bets, including 21+3 and Perfect Pairs. The company has seen significant growth in its online presence, reporting 3.5 billion wagers on its games in the past year through partnerships with major gaming companies like Evolution and Playtech. Reback shared insights into the company's Q1 financial results, highlighting record-breaking gross and net revenues achieved by significant margins. In the core sector of business, gross revenue for the quarter increased by $1 million, or 20%, and net revenue grew by $225,000. A key factor in this growth was the distribution of EZ Baccarat, which began in September 2023 and accounted for the bulk of the increase in recurring license revenue. The strong performance and market demand for Galaxy Gaming's innovative products and solutions. Additionally, the company has added Steve Kopjo as the new Chief Financial Officer. Kopjo brings a wealth of experience from senior finance and accounting positions held at various publicly traded gaming companies. He began his career at Ernst & Young as an auditor for casino operators, where he acquired his CPA license. Kopjo has developed a diverse skillset in technical accounting, investor relations, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions through his roles with both operators and suppliers, including SHLF Entertainment, Wynn Resorts, Play AGS, and most recently, as Vice President of Finance at Everi Holdings. #proactiveinvestors #galaxygaminginc #otc #glxz #TableGames #CasinoGames #OnlineGaming #LasVegas #MattReback #GamingIndustry #Casino #Baccarat #Blackjack #Poker #CruiseShipCasinos #ProgressiveJackpots #InteractiveGames #CasinoTechnology #Gambling #GamingPartnerships #RevenueGrowth #NewCFO #GamingExpansion #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Today, host Tom Butta talks to Lior Gross, Director of Software Development at Caliente Interactive, also known as “Caliplay.” Caliplay is a leader in the regulated Mexican online casino and sports betting market with a focus on marketing and user experience. While you cannot download their mobile app quite yet, they're the number one free sports app on the market in Mexico. Lior shares his experience as the first technical hire in the door when Caliente decided to pursue a joint venture with the organization, Playtech, and what he's prioritized as he's grown his team since. Tom learns how a natural collaboration between teams at Caliente has translated into a better overall customer experience and plugged up any knowledge gaps that may have existed in the past. Later on in the conversation, Tom and Lior discuss where they think AI might help or hinder mobile experiences for both consumers and brands. Lior shares where Caliente is looking to employ AI versus advanced algorithms, why there might need to be less data collected in the future, and how that data will probably be safer in the hands of a computer. —Guest BioLior Gross is a CTO & Director of Software Development with 10 years' experience in web and app development and a strong background in the gaming industry. He has been with Caliente Interactive since 2014, and leads the daily operations of the Software Development Department, which he established from scratch. His expertise is translating business strategy into tech solutions, achievable plans, and measurable outcomes. He has successfully directed countless software-based technological projects, including multimillion-dollar programs for leading multinational companies. He has managed over 70 gaming apps on Apple Appstore and Google Play with 30M+ users worldwide - and regularly prevented and solved issues for hi-loaded applications. In addition, he has directed technical accounts for high-profile, tier-one company partners including Fox Sport (Mexico), ESPN (Global), Facebook, Google, and BBVA Bank.—Guest Quote“So who do you trust more with your data? A machine or a person? To be honest, I trust the machine more because I think it has nothing to gain from my data. And if you have AI to comb through all this data, and find the data points you need to collect, I think AI can improve it and maybe even collect less data than is collected today.” – Lior Gross—Time Stamps *(01:15) Lior's Background*(03:35) What is Caliente?*(05:16) Why is cross-functionality something you should pursue?*(07:44) The benefits of working together*(08:56) Plugging up gaps between departments from Day 1*(12:18) How AI will change the App Landscape*(16:03) Will users need to give up more data for AI?*(19:17) Is Web going to go away anytime soon?*(22:14) When to make a "Super App"*(24:49) Trends Lior sees on the horizon*(29:29) Rapid Fire Questions—LinksConnect with Lior Gross on LinkedInConnect with Tom Butta on LinkedInCheck out the Airship WebsiteCheck out Caliente Interactive

Playtech is going all out to penetrate the U.S. market, one in which Ferris is very familiar. He spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros at G2E in Las Vegas in October.

Want gambling news and the chance to play online bingo for real money and find the best real money online casinos? Play Slots 4 Real Money and Easy Mobile Casino  discuss gambling in canada, BetMGM hosting the poker tournament at the Aria, Ohio's progress with potential sports betting legislation, and how 1-800-GAMBLER team up with The National Council on Problem Gambling. In our first story, the 1-800-GAMBLER helpline is now being deployed nationwide to help those battling gambling habits. Until recently, the hotline has been registered with the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey and only used to provide assistance to gamblers in the Garden State. However, the New Jersey Council has now agreed to lend the rights to this easily rememberable number to the National Council on Problem Gambling. The DC-based nonprofit will share the helpline with gambling resource organizations across the country. This means that every caller outside of New Jersey will be rerouted to the local, state-approved addiction assistance center. In addition, each state will now have a single help number that they can easily market and include in advertisements during sports events.  Next up, Ohio is taking its time with the legalization of sports betting. The launch of the sports wagering program in the Buckeye state is already taking longer than in any of the neighboring states. The state lawmakers have set the launch deadline for January 1, 2023, exactly 374 days after Governor Mike DeWine signed the bill on December 23, 2021.The holdup is mainly due to the bureaucracy issues, but also the fact that there are a lot of conflicting interests, as many players want a cut of the $3.35 billion in estimated yearly revenue. Furthermore, multiple agencies regulating the industry have slowed the timeline, too. However, Ohio bettors remain hopeful that they will be able to place their first wagers at the start of the new year.  In our next story, a new major industry player is entering the Canadian sports betting market. NorthStar Bets has officially launched its online casino and sportsbook in the Ontario market. For the launch, North Star Gaming has partnered up with Playtech, which will provide live casino services and its IMS platform. Both companies are hoping that this partnership will allow them to gain a firm foothold in the north of the continent and become a leader in the Canadian iGaming market. For Playtech, the agreement comes on the heels of a very profitable year, mainly due to their successful B2B operations. Besides the Northstar partnership, the company has struck a deal with Caliente which should help them increase their presence in the Mexican market. In our last story this week, casino giant BetMGM has announced an agreement with PokerGo which involves the final table of the BetMGM Poker Championship and the $25K freeroll tournament. The gaming brand of MGM entertainment and the largest poker provider in the world have agreed to bring the finishing stage of the Championship to the PokerGo Studio at the ARIA Resort & Casino. The final table will feature the six players and take place on Sunday, June 26, during the ARIA Poker Classic. The PokerGo will also host a $25K No-limit Hold'em freeroll which will involve BetMGM Championship online qualifiers. The buy-in for the first-ever poker championship organized by BetMGM is $3,500 while the total guaranteed prize pool is worth $1 million.
