Law firm JGA Saddler is bringing a class action lawsuit against pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson, after starting a similar case in Australia last year. It alleges 17 different cold and flu medicines containing phenylephrine, don't work when swallowed and that the company has put profit before people - with millions likely wasted by Kiwis on these products. Rebecca Jancauskas, JGA Saddler's Director spoke to Lisa Owen.
A class action lawsuit launched in Auckland today questioning Johnson and Johnson cold and flu products follows similar suits worldwide. JGA Saddler has filed a suit in the High Court, claiming the producer knowingly sold an ineffective product. The US Food and Drug Administration has ruled a key ingredient in Codral, Sudafed, and Benadryl cold and flu products is ineffective when taken orally. JGA Saddler director, Rebecca Jancauskas says it's sparked a wave of legal action. "Our firm filed a claim in Australia, in December. A Canadian firm filed a class-action about 12 months ago, and there's also quite a number of claims on foot in America." LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Instead of talking about an article today from www.naturallysavvy.com, Lisa decided to post an interview she did with Dr. Cass Ingram from 2019 on natural remedies for cold and flu.Dr. Ingram passed away in 2022. Dr. Cass's obituaryIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Cass Ingram (Cassim Igram) on Saturday, March 12, 2022, in his Illinois home. He was 66 years old. A prolific author, researcher, lecturer, and popular media personality, Dr. Cass will be remembered for his passionate endorsement of wild medicinal herbs and spices and his belief in the healing power of wild harvested whole foods. His most lauded professional accomplishment was his extensive research and writing on the curative properties of oil of wild oregano, which earned him the moniker “Dr. Oregano” among patients, associates, and his legion of fans. Dr. Cass graduated from the Des Moines School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1984, finishing at the top of his class in osteopathic manipulation and holistic medicine. He studied under several of the top osteopathic physicians of the day before beginning an apprenticeship with Dr. Maur, founder of the renowned Maur Preventive Medical Center in Zion, Illinois. Dr. Maur took young Dr. Cass under his wing and taught him how to start and run a thriving preventive care medical center. In 1985, Dr. Cass started his first clinic in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. In 1986 he then opened the Arlington Preventive Medical Center in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Thousands of patients from all over the Midwest poured into the clinic. About this time, he started developing formulas for his own line of vitamins. From that point on, Dr. Cass worked tirelessly to provide natural products and knowledge of those products to the world through his books, lectures and many hundreds of media appearances. He leaves to us a vast library of knowledge in book and video format that informs us how to safely use wild edible plants from the earth to live a joyous, healthy life.Dr. Cass's life's work will be cherished and he will be dearly missed by his three children; Surriah, Maryam and Ali Igram, as well as by his seven grandchildren; Jameela, Ayesha, Ibrahim, Muhammad, Yusuf, Maryam, and Maya, and by his five siblings; Hassan, Jamiely, Suehila, Abdullah, and Surria. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5948889/advertisement
