Great! Star Trek predicted tech bros taking over everything in 1968! The Ultimate Computer rips up everything thanks to Dorothy Fontana. Meanwhile, Clone Wars expands to 12 minutes an episode and we're all the better for it. Aspen talks about how Grievous rules. And Kenny hates Grand Admiral Thrawn (a tangent)._________________Get early, extended episodes on our Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/trekwarspodTheme by Tosin AwofesoSocial Media:https://www.instagram.com/trekwarspodhttps://bsky.app/profile/trekwarspod.bsky.socialWant to ask us questions? Aspen watches Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars for the first time. Kenny geeks out at how visually clever it is. Also, The Omega Glory is an exercise in how to pat yourself on the back for being a great American. It is certainly a week for TV._________________Get early, extended episodes on our Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/trekwarspodTheme by Tosin AwofesoSocial Media:https://www.instagram.com/trekwarspodhttps://bsky.app/profile/trekwarspod.bsky.socialWant to ask us questions? Long ago, Genndy Tartakovsky, the game-changing Master of Animation, unleashed a cartoon of a noble samurai! But a foolish network wielding The Force stepped forth to stop it. Before the final movie was produced, a Star Wars series was made and capitalism had won! Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and complete the future that is Samurai Jack! Admit it, you heard the theme song as soon as you read the title didn't you. Samurai Jack was one of the most important cartoons of the early 2000's, each episode dense and iconic in so many ways that we'll try as hard as we can to do it justice in the time we have. Each episode of this show could be it's own podcast episode. Social injustice, good vs evil, man vs. god, we see it all in this show in such a tasteful and simple way, and it's just a breathtaking experience. And that soundtrack... WOO. This season we get a little goofy, but still adhere to the beautiful simplicity that is Samurai Jack. Jack vs. The Shinobi, Jack vs the Bounty Hunters, and Jack vs his own amnesia, we see it all this season. Before the George Lucas/Dave Filoni-produced series, animation producer Genndy Tartakovsky created two seasons of CLONE WARS shorts to bridge the gap between STAR WARS Episodes II and III. Now available on Disney+, Genndy's microseries introduced new characters and concepts to the prequel era. We look back at this series with RFR Patreon VIP Matt Rashid who leads the discussion. Talented actor Michael K. Williams ("The Wire") tragically passed away this week and we look at his SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY role that never made it to the final film. We review the new trailer for STAR WARS LEGO: Terrifying Tales, and listen to new STAR WARS pop culture references from SUPERGIRL and at the racetrack.

He's the smartest boy…. you've ever SEEEEEEEEEN. But Deedee blows his experiments… TO SMITHEREENS! This episode is our first Genndy-sode since our launch ep and it's dedicated to our golden god's first passion project for Cartoon Network. Dexter's Lab is one of the first massive hits from the networks original content had no issue with near “Ren and Stimpy” or “Rocko's Modern Life” adult humor, right in line with Genndy's style and promise to never dumb down a show just because it's for kids… and that's why we love him. We also discuss the Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars Micro Series from 2003-2005 that aired on starwars.com as well as on Cartoon Network. It was the first legitimate foray into animation for Star Wars since the Droids and Ewoks cartoons from 20 years earlier. We talk about the animation, the voice cast, the kick-ass music and disagree about what the show may have become if it got renewed. Amy, Bryan, and Bobby all do their best to weather the double fandom hangover of Force Friday and DragonCon, discussing the many ways in which BB-8 took the world by storm, Captain Phasma proved herself highly elusive, and (much to the consternation of a small, sour sliver of the fandom) Chuck Wendig made a BIG splash with "Aftermath." Bryan interviews Mr. Wendig after the crew reviews this canon blast from a fully armed and operational Lucasfilm. The full crew, Amy, Mike, Bobby, and Bryan, is back this week to talk about the latest news and everyone's second favorite X-Wing pilot from Tatooine. Spurred by fan speculation over Diego Luna's Rogue one character, Biggs Darklighter is the topic for much of the discussion, the team goes through his timeline, stories of his they'd like to see, and why he's actually a pretty interesting character. They talk about Drew Struzan's recent comments and the idea that you need to be a fan to work on Star Wars. They close out with discussion about the name "Anakin" for kids and Bryan shares a personal story about his own kid named Anakin.
