"Luxury means that I'm going to have this innate ability to have intuitive service radar. It's going to allow me to understand you as an individual and to be able to ensure that your needs are met no matter who you are." When most people hear the word luxury they think about dollar signs or exclusivity. For Barry Jacobson, luxury is about creating that absence of worry and making each interaction magical. Barry's career spans three decades in the hospitality and customer experience industry, including key roles with Disney. He joins me to explore what luxury truly means and how anyone can incorporate it into their business model. Barry started working with Disney as a lifeguard, and worked his way to leading luxurious endeavors like Club Thirty-Three and as the General Manager at Golden Oak, Disney's first luxury residential community. He recognized the importance of blending personal touch and attention to detail to elevate ordinary experiences to extraordinary. For example, at Golden Oak, crafting personalized Thanksgiving meals with family recipes exemplified this elevated service level. Even the smallest detail is crafted for comfort and delight. Barry knows that true luxury is in the details. That may be a thoughtfully clean restroom or a warm greeting as simple as a friendly hello. These are the markers of a business that cares deeply for its customers, regardless of scale or industry. We dug into how making customers feel special doesn't take a big budget, just a deliberate approach. Whether it's showing empathy at an orthopedic clinic or offering a little extra for restless children in a restaurant, it's the human connection that leaves a lasting impression. Barry's insights affirm that any business, no matter if it's a corner store or a massive resort, can offer luxury. The tools? Kindness, attention to detail, and the desire to create meaningful moments. Remember, it's not only about lavishness; it's making people feel valued and cared for in the simplest ways. One su proslavljale kraj teške radne nedelje.En: Milica, a girl with a heartwarming smile, sat at an old wooden table with her best friend Ana. They were celebrating the end of a challenging work week.Sr: U tom kutku, ispunjenom toplinom, Dragan, momak širokih ramena i neodoljivog šarma, zapazio je Milicu i poželeo da joj priđe. On je nosio svoju najnoviju belu košulju, ponosan na to kako izgleda.En: In that cozy corner, filled with warmth, Dragan, a broad-shouldered guy with irresistible charm, noticed Milica and wished to approach her. He was wearing his latest white shirt, proud of how he looked. Jedan nespretan pokret i - oh! En: To the rhythm of traditional folk music, Milica raised her glass for another toast. A clumsy move and - oh! Her drink spilled right onto Dragan's new shirt. The place filled with silence was suddenly interrupted. En: Dragan looked stunned, staring at the red stain on his shirt. But instead of anger, his lips began to curl into a smile. Ana burst into loud laughter, quickly spreading across the tavern. Milica, embarrassed, quickly grabbed some napkins to help Dragan clean up the mess. En: "Sorry, I didn't mean to..." Milica quickly apologized as she tried to fix the damage. Ali ovaj put, ja držim čaše."En: Dragan took her hand, saying, "Hey, don't worry, now I have a memorable souvenir from tonight." His eyes were full of humor and affection. "Maybe we could have a drink together? But this time, I'll hold the glasses."Sr: Milica je zastala na trenutak, njena nervoza se pretvorila u osmeh. Oni su natočili piće i pomno, bez prosipanja, nazdravili novom prijateljstvu.En: Milica paused for a moment, her nervousness turning into a smile. They poured drinks and, carefully without spilling, toasted to their new friendship. En: The evening continued with more laughter and dancing. The shirt incident became the joke of the night, and even a song about clumsy Milica and her victim - Dragan's shirt, was created. En: As dawn approached, the flicker of the old lamps slowly faded, and Milica, Ana, and Dragan left the tavern as old friends. Dragan's shirt may have been ruined, but the night brought something much more valuable than clothing - a new bond and the start of a beautiful friendship. En: And so, in a small, warm-hearted tavern, the clumsy moment became a source of joy and the beginning of a new connection. In today's episode, Yakov sits down with Shawn Dwyer to discuss how he balances a successful mobile home parks investing operation while working a full-time corporate job. In addition to the big “aha” moment that compelled him to create passive income, he shares his early setbacks, strategies for growth, and his economic predictions for the next 12-18 months. Key takeaways: What makes the mobile home parks asset class so attractive? The importance of automation to create online campaigns while working a W2 Using education as the pillar of communication with potential investors Interest rate predictions for mobile home parks and multifamily asset classes More about Shawn: Shawn Dwyer, with his 15 years in real estate and 18 years as an executive at a Fortune Top 30 company, is the driving force behind Golden Oak. His mission is to provide busy professionals with secure, low-risk real estate investment opportunities that offer substantial returns. Dwyer's motivation to start Golden Oak came from observing his family's struggles with retirement planning. Golden Oak isn't just about investments; it's about building a secure future together. Dwyer strongly advocates passive investment in mobile home communities, providing diversification with lower risk. Beyond his professional life, Dwyer is a husband and father who enjoys woodworking, travel, and working with tile. This week's episode comes with pixie dust included. The Four Season's Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World is located on the grounds of Walt Disney World in a quiet residential area called Golden Oak. It's a luxury resort offering Disney-adjacent magic as only the Four Seasons can, and the weddings at this property are positively enchanting. On this show, I chat with Laure Hitzig Clavette, director of catering at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World who talks all about planning a celebration at this exclusive property and how she and her team bring dream experiences to life—no request is too small or too large, including having Mickey and Minnie Mouse as guests of honour. Laure also shares her expert industry on food and wedding menus, and why bringing your favourite restaurant dishes to life at your wedding is the one of the biggest trends of the moment.
New from Concert Cast, we present: Let's Go Festival - A rockumentary podcast that brings the music festival to you.Our series starts in Farmington, Maine at the Sandy River Music Festival. Here, there are no frills, just a bunch of passionate people coming together to celebrate local musicians.Singer Jason Spooner puts it this way: “We've played a bunch of festivals where it's kind of a zoo. Big lines and port-a-potty masses and mud and the energy's just almost a little too frenetic. This is more my style, everybody's laid back and very respectful." The Sandy River Music Festival might just be one of the most Maine things out there. Fire pits to gather around, fresh mountain water to swim in, musicians to sway to. It's a festival that manages to be both eclectic and cozy, vast and very familiar. The VenueIt seems that many Maine musicians feel that they have to leave Maine to make it in the music scene. And Mainers often feel like they have to go to big cities to hear music magic. What makes the Sandy River Music Festival so special is that when you stand in the field behind the Narrow Gauges cinema, where it is located, this feeling disappears. You are exactly where you need to be. You can feel magic in the river and in the crowds of committed music lovers. Families near campfires, friends dancing, solo campers meeting new friends. You can come to the Sandy River Festival as you are.Lena, from the Maine band Golden Oak told me, “Every time I come home, I'm so impressed. I'm just like, What is happening in Farmington? When did you get so hip and cool and super cool?”The MusicAn amazing thing about the music here is that it doesn't feel exclusive. You can listen to bands reference each other in their set intros, grab a beer with them after they play or join in on impromptu fire pit jams. Many festival go-ers know the musicians too. Either indirectly, having grown up listening to them at shows or directly, as friends. And that's a special feeling no-one takes for granted. The Camping - GlampingThe festival is an overnight affair. You've got some options. You can rent beautiful bell tents that can fit up to six of your friends. Or you can bring an RV. The camping grounds are spacious and within walking distance to the very swimmable Sandy River. The Idea Man - Meet John the Owner“He goes into a quantum timescape. He's running so fast and so steady. It's just like a stargate opens up.” That's just one of the ways John, the organizer of this festival is described. I don't want to spoil anything, but if you're looking for the story of one man backed by a superhero team of technicians, planners, builders and wizards making magic happen – have a listen to this episode of Concert Cast.2023 Lineup of musical memories2023's lineup is Griffin Sherry from the Ghost of Paul Revere, The Wolff Sisters, King Kyote, the Adam Ezra Group, and so many more folks. The Emergencies Act, which Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked for the first time ever in response to ongoing protests in Ottawa, expanded the powers of banks and other financial institutions. Yet, Canadian bankers are still scratching their heads in figuring out how to implement the orders. Looks like Disney is now bringing the magic to a residential development near you, starting with a a sold-out luxury residential community called Golden Oak in Florida. Billionaire investor Carl Icahn gearing up to launch a proxy fight against McDonald's over the inhumane treatment of pigs.
This week Disney announces a new business segment to their Disney Signature Experience. Called Storyliving by Disney, and it is a set of planned communities with a Disney-designed aesthetic and customer service experience. Bloggers and others are referring to it in the same way Epcot was initially thought conceived by Walt himself, which it is not--nor does Disney draw that comparison. It is also being compared to Celebration and Golden Oak, which does have some shared similarities. In truth the relationship here is more like Arvida, a company Disney purchased in the 1980's, and whose organization eventually evolved into the Disney Development Company. This might be the most ridiculous / most fun I've had in a while around the mic's in the old garage. Had the pleasure of sitting with my pals Nick and Sam (Zach was there, too, but it did not bring me pleasure) and just having a strait up SILLY time. We talked about the usual: celebrity dong, geese vs. wasps, seventh day adventists and FMK animal edition. If you're offended by any of this then it's quite clear you've never heard an episode before. So welcome and we hope you stay! For real though, it was great to just hang with friends and be silly and I hope you had a few laughs. We've got shows! One of the few who are originally from Nashville, the talented singer/songwriter Megan Golden tells her story and sings her Hit Song Collecting Dust "Oak Nightstand""In my 15 years living in Nashville, I have been fortunate to watch a lot of friends like Kip Moore, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, A Thousand Horses, Michael Ray and more, start their journeys with a back pack and a dream and end up being a huge success in country music. Yet the most frustrating part about being a friend and a fan to not just artist, but writers like Corey Crowder, Justin Weaver, Rick Huckaby, Westin Davis and many more, has been hearing amazing songs that will never leave the Nashville city limits."Nashville Hits Collecting Dust" is a casual, entertaining hangout with friends telling stories, giving valuable advice, and playing great songs that otherwise would still be sitting in a database. My guest are pure entrepreneurs that are living out their dream of being artist and full time songwriters."
