It's Monday, April 7th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus China moves to formally ban missionary activity New regulations released this week by the Chinese Communist Party impose severe restrictions on missionary activity in the country, reports International Christian Concern. The regulations, which take effect May 1, prohibit foreigners from preaching, sharing their faith, or establishing religious organizations without official government approval. Justifying these regulations, Chinese state media claimed that the newly revised rules promote national security—a common justification for CCP persecution of religion—and help to protect “normal religious activities,” referring to activities run under strict government oversight as part of state-run religious institutions. The Chinese Communist Party has long viewed independent religious activity with suspicion, arguing that religious loyalty is at odds with the ultimate loyalty demanded by the Communist Party. The government labels independent religious activity as cultish and extremist, regardless of its theological roots, and demands that all Christian religious activity take place within the confines of state-run churches. In Matthew 10:22, Jesus said, “You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Senate confirmed pro-life Asst. Attorney General Last Thursday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Harmeet Dhillon, a prominent pro-life attorney, as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Justice, reports LifeNews. The vote marks a significant shift in the agency's approach to civil rights enforcement under the Trump administration. The vote, which followed party lines with Republicans approving and Democrats voting no, ended with a 52-45 tally, with three senators absent. Dhillon, nominated by President Donald Trump in December 2024, pledged during her Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing in February to end what she described as the targeting of pro-life Christians by the Department of Justice. Her appointment replaces Kristen Clarke, a pro-abortion Biden-era official criticized by conservative groups for aggressively prosecuting pro-life activists under the so-called Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. Democratic Rep. calls wheelchair-bound Abbott: “Governor Hot Wheels” At a Human Rights Campaign Fund event, a group that advocates for sexual perversion, Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of Texas mocked her own Republican Governor Greg Abbott for his disability, reports KBTX TV. Listen. CROCKETT: “Y'all know we got ‘Governor Hot Wheels' down there. Come on now. And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot mess.” On July 14, 1984, at age 26, Abbott was paralyzed below the waist when an oak tree fell on him while he was jogging after a storm. Since the accident, Abbott has used a wheelchair. Governor Abbott reacted. ABBOTT: “It's another day and another disaster by the Democrats. The reality is they have no vision, no policy. They have nothing to sell but hate.” In a laughable spin, Congresswoman Crocket claimed that “I wasn't thinking about the Governor's condition. I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he uses to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors.” Republican Congressman Randy Weber of Texas has introduced a resolution to censure Crockett. He said, “The story of our great Governor of Texas is one of unwavering resilience and perseverance. Meanwhile, the actions of Jasmine Crockett—stooping to vile levels of discrimination and despicable political attacks—are nothing short of reprehensible.” Pro-Life activist assaulted during street interview And finally, a pro-life activist was violently attacked last Thursday while conducting street interviews in New York City, reports LifeNews.com. Savannah Craven, a YouTuber with the pro-life group Live Action, was punched in the face by Brianna Rivers, an enraged pro-abortion passerby, during an interview near a Planned Parenthood abortion mill in Manhattan, reports the New York Post. According to posts on X, Craven was asking pedestrians, “Do you know what Planned Parenthood does?” when she was brutally attacked. The assailant, described by witnesses as a pro-abortion advocate, reportedly grew agitated during a brief exchange with Craven before delivering the blow. Things took a turn when Savannah asked whether foster kids should be killed because “they're not wanted.” Rivers responded, “Why not? Who's going to take care of them? I need to know the percentage of people who take children from foster care and abuse them and molest them, who make them personal slaves. I need specifics before you come to talk to me about pro-life.” You can watch the video of the pro-abortion woman, Brianna Rivers, assaulting pro-life advocate Savannah Craven, through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. Listen to this brief soundbite from that exchange that led to this assault. RIVERS: “You don't understand the magnitude of having a child.” CRAVEN: “ I'm not the one who admitted they would be okay with killing babies in foster care and killing children that have been abused…” RIVERS: “That's not the point.” (This is when Rivers punched Craven in the face) As Craven and her friends were driving around looking for the woman who had just punched her in the face, she said this. CRAVEN : “She was a stranger on the street, and I asked her if she wanted to do an interview for my YouTube channel. She said, ‘Yeah.' She was very nice when she walked up. She complimented my dress, and then things escalated very quickly.” Live Action, a prominent pro-life group, condemned the attack, calling it a “direct assault on free expression.” Craven developed a swollen black left eye and received two stitches below her eyebrow at the hospital as well as enduring significant pain in her nasal area. Isaiah 59:7 says, “Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, April 7th, in the year of our Lord 2025. As part of our Black History Month Rewind at Ms. Studios, we're revisiting some of our favorite past episodes. First up, we're taking a look of voting rights and voter suppression, revisiting an episode recorded ahead of the 2020 presidential election. At the 1964 Democratic National Convention in Atlantic City, voting activist and civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer described the violent injustice she and others had endured while living under the South's Jim Crow rules and fighting for the right to vote: “I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!”Over 50 years later, ahead of the 2020 election, we see record early voting across the country. Even so, serious efforts aimed at voter suppression persist, including curbing access to mail-in voting and shutting down polling locations. So, what are the biggest threats to voting rights today? How is voter suppression showing up in the 2020 election? What can we do to ensure that our elections remain free and fair?Joining us to discuss these issues are some very special guests:Kristen Clarke, president and executive director of the National Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Clarke leads one of the nation's most important national civil rights organizations in the pursuit of equal justice for all. She is the author of Barack Obama and African American Empowerment: The Rise of Black America's New Leadership.Judge Glenda Hatchett, who served as senior attorney at Delta Airlines before becoming the chief presiding judge of Fulton County Georgia Juvenile Court in Atlanta. Her law firm, the Hatchett Firm, represented Philando Castille's estate in the wake of his tragic death. She presides over the two-time Emmy-nominated courtroom series, Judge Hatchett, now in its 16th season. Most recently, she has returned to TV in her new television court series, The Verdict with Judge Hatchett.Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson, executive director of the Highlander Research and Education Center—and the first Black woman to hold that title. She is an active participant on the governance council of the Southern Movement Assembly, and an organizer with Concerned Citizens for Justice. She has served on the National Council of the Student Environmental Action Coalition.Check out this episode's landing page at MsMagazine.com for a full transcript, links to articles referenced in this episode, further reading and ways to take action.Support the show

A federal investigation into five state facilities concluded children in custody face excessive force, sexual abuse, and a lack of vital services, The Dallas Morning News reported. At a news conference last week, Kristen Clarke, assistant attorney general in the Justice Department's civil rights division, said children held in those facilities are not receiving the treatment and rehabilitation they are supposed to get. “Our investigation provides reasonable cause to believe that, far from achieving those objectives, TJJD engaged in a pattern of abuse, deprivation of essential services, and disability-related discrimination that seriously harms children and undermines their rehabilitation, all in...Article Link

Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke was involved in a violent domestic dispute, according to court documents, records, and text messages—an incident that ended in her arrest and was ultimately expunged. During her Senate confirmation, Clarke specifically denied ever having been arrested for or accused of committing a violent crime. Judge Juan Merchan found Donald Trump in "Contempt of Court" and then whined about not being able to fine Trump more than what is legally allowed. (Also hinted that jail might be in Trump's future.) Gaslit Nation launched in 2018 to help build the Blue Wave, which set up progressive infrastructure that expands today, including in states like Kansas. In Virginia in 2023, our community produced one of the largest phone banks for Sister District, helping to get out the vote, flipping the Senate, and helping elect Danica Roem, the first transgender person to serve in the state Senate. We also protected abortion rights from Posh Trump Glenn Youngkin. An early September 2023 Gaslit Nation episode highlighted the work of the States Project, which raised more money for Virginia than the Democratic Party. Why? Because grassroots power is the most reliable power we have left. We are the answer to the decades-long mission of the corporate-backed far-right to dismantle our democracy. No one is coming to save us but us. That's why our listeners are the least likely to be demoralized by the news that the Supreme Court will drag out Trump's January 6 insurrection case, the one Merrick Garland's DOJ already waited out the clock on, losing valuable time as the coup plotters like Trump and Bannon continue to mobilize their genocidal far-right army. Ivanka and Jared dine with politicians from both parties and continue to serve as anonymous sources for the media that, in return, tries to rehabilitate their (banana republic grifter) reputations. This week's bonus show, answering questions from our listeners, features a special focus on the murder of Nex Benedict, a gender-fluid trans teen killed by the incitement of hate and violence driven by Chaya Raichik of Libs of TikTok and Oklahoma state school superintendent Ryan Walters, who appointed Raichik to terrorize vulnerable children and their allies. While the grief and anger over the lack of accountability are immense, there are solutions to what we can do, no matter if we live in a Republican-hostage state or a so-called blue state. Other questions from our listeners range from the latest news on the Havana Syndrome mystery and cover-up, must-see places to visit in New York, and whether George Santos will end up on Dancing with the Stars (he will!), and more. If you didn't hear your question answered this week, look out for it next week, as our Q&A continues. Thank you to everyone who supports the show – we could not make Gaslit Nation without you! Today we open with FBI Director Christopher Wray and his testimony before the Senate. Before we get into that, we start with revelation from Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) that another FBI whistleblower stated that the FBI reached out to a priest and a choir director in an effort to recruit them as assets to spy on their congregations. We know of this instance and it makes me wonder how many others have been approached. Wray was asked, but he never answered that question. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) provided me with the perfect illustration over all that is wrong with our current Executive Branch of government. Wray acts like it's a joke to be questioned and that it's a waste of his time. On the flipside, I am growing frustrated with the House of Representatives still lacking the courage to defund agencies and/or departments that are flouting the Constitution on a daily basis. President Biden still pretends he had no knowledge of his son, Hunter's, foreign business dealings, yet we have another revelation from bank records telling us the opposite. According to Rep. James Comer (R-KY), one of Hunter's LLC's was sending payments directly to Joe Biden's account on a monthly basis. The LLC was receiving millions of dollars from China and other foreign entities, most not friendly to the United States. No wonder a Chinese spy balloon is allowed to wander all over nation. Our Commander-in-Chief is horribly compromised and has been his entire political career. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about the revelation. She said she wasn't aware of it and to talk to the White House and then left the room. I thought she was the “White House” Press Secretary, but she apparently thought someone else in the White House would have that answer. In a separate hearing, Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) was left almost at a loss for words when questioning the DOJ's U.S. Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, Kristen Clarke, about Missouri v. Biden. She claims to have no knowledge of the case involving government imposed censorship via their Censorship Industrial Complex. It's the perfect microcosm for the DEI hires that take place in the Biden regime. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) reveals what I have been warning you about for a very long time now. The open borders are the means to the creation of a permanent under-class to be used as a voting block for Democrats. He said we need to give illegals a chance to serve in the military, which fills falling recruitment levels while then giving them citizenship. It's one of their amnesty plans. At the same time, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) announced Sunday she has obtained a copy of the contract in New York demanding migrants being housed in newly constructed shelters be given copies of voter registration forms. While Mayor Eric Adams says it's not true, the language in the contract is there and says exactly what Malliotakis claims. Finally, on CBS News Money Watch, a new survey is not going to be liked by the Biden administration.
Our guest today is Paloma A. Capanna. Paloma has been speaking and writing about the Second Amendment as the modern civil rights movement for nearly fifteen years. In more than 25-years in state and federal courtrooms, Paloma has represented plaintiffs in ground-breaking civil rights litigation. An award-winning activist and writer, Paloma chases truth until it's treed. And her latest work is a book titled “The Events of January 6, 2021: What Impact the Second Amendment Movement?”. 1) When we had you on back in August we broke down a lot of the details that seem to lead to a reasonable conclusion that people who have been arrested in the January 6th events were targeted simply because of specific clothing they were wearing that day and that there were FBI Agents among the crowd who were actually ramping up the people and egging people on to enter the building. Do I have that correct? 2) This many months later, the top three bullets are: 2a) Order of DC District Court Judge Royce Lamberth on 10/13/2021 in the case of Christopher Worrell, which found DC Warden and Director of Prisons in contempt for failing to turn over prisoner medical records to the court on time AND which directed the US AG to launch an investigation into the conditions of all defendants incarcerated pending trial relative to the events of January 6. The call to action here is to call the Assistant AG in charge of civil rights, Kristen Clarke [(202) 514-3847], to ask for a "thorough and unbiased investigation" into the prison conditions in accordance with Judge Lamberth's Order. 2b) Arrest of defendant Jeremy Michael Brown on 9/26. DOJ is calling him a "self-identified Oath Keeper" (no evidence he was a member, including his position that he was not). He says that the FBI tried to recruit him in December 2020 to be a "confidential informant." He got interested in the Oath Keepers after the November election and was at the December MAGA rally in WDC. He drove up from FL to the January 6 events with one of the four defendants who are alleged to be "Oath Keepers" who already took a plea, including a term to be "confidential informants" of the government. That person in his car reported Brown to the FBI. On January 6, while Brown was on the Capitol lawn, Brown's FBI handler called him wanting to know exactly where he was. It's another "Fast & Furious." Where are the assets? What's going on? Brown isn't the only one saying his FBI handler was calling him on January 6. Second-in-command of the Proud Boys has already been complaining of the same thing. 2c) Records of Ashli Babbitt starting to come through to Judicial Watch and to me basis Freedom of Information requests. I now have a time line of the shooting, and the procession of her body for that week. What DC Metro also released was their interview notes with US Capitol Police officers the night of January 6. If you read my blog "15:15," you learned what I learned: there were 15 armed USCP officers in that hallway + 3 unidentified uniformed officers in front of and then next to the group of 10 citizens + 3 riot USCP officers closing in immediately behind them up the stairwell, just steps away. It is fair to say we are lucky that the entire group wasn't gunned down where they stood, unarmed, and making absolutely zero retaliation against any LEO in their vicinity. Talk about chilling information for anyone who is an activist at the Capitol.

The U.S. DOJ filed a lawsuit Friday against the state of Georgia over its new election integrity act alleging that it is discriminatory and aims to restrict citizens from voting. Attorney General Merrick Garland and Kristen Clarke, head of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, announced the suit, which alleges that the Georgia law discriminates against black voters. “The rights of all eligible citizens to vote are the central pillars of our democracy,” Garland said at a press conference at the Justice Department. “They are the rights from which all other rights ultimately flow.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
