Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 592 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - What's happening to the price of US guitars, the rise of the robots, and Brian's goth phase  Blake has a wallet bursting conundrum as not one but two of his favorite bands are on the same bill and he needs help which Brian and Richard are more than happy to not give. Richard bores Brian to near death with Pink Floyd related updates and then talks about his new old music discoveries. Richard has AI based concerns and he expresses them via the medium of terrible analogies. Brian is not convinced that he is right but there is a business idea and a possible confession. The horrors persist for Richard as he discusses a brand new release from Gibson and Brian taunts him with emojis. There are some language barriers that need to be broken down and there is much confusion. Marshall have released an amp in conjunction with Spinal Tap and Brian ponders the possibilities of an infinitely loud amplifier. Fishing, The Great British Bake off, Ticket Touts, The nuttercut, Lorries...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Courses and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/@chasingtonepodcastFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Contact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show

"Strange Kind Of Paradise" Formed in Leeds at the dawn of the '80s, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry were weaned on the MC5 and Wire, but their brooding melodies and dark and churning instrumentation got them lumped in with the Goth scene. Their 1985 debut Talk About The Weather went to #3 on the NME indie chart and to this day remains an undisputed classic. With John Peel a huge fan and their own fans affectionately referring to them as the Lorries, they quickly followed that up with fabulous albums like Paint Your Wagon, Nothing Wrong, Blow and Blasting Off. Ironically, 1992's Blasting Off sounded like a band taking flight, but at that point they were a band breaking up. Well, not really breaking up, but heading into a deep hiatus. The band's braintrust Chris Reed surfaced in 2004 with a few new tracks and the Lorries did tour that year and into 2005. But aside from the Thunder In A Black Cave live DVD and Reed's acoustic record Minimal Animal, the Lorries were silent for more than twenty more years. Until now. Long considered to be a holy grail of sorts for Lorries fans, Strange Kind Of Paradise is the band's sixth and final album. Brewing for two decades, the band completed work on the album and it'll be the last word for the Lorries. A wicked blast of angular beauty, dark melodicism and grinding intensity, Strange Kind Of Paradise is a brilliant final chapter that ends with an artful and deeply satisfying crescendo. I hope you'll feel the same way about this chat--it's a good one. https://www.red-lorry-yellow-lorry.com https://redlorryyellowlorry.bandcamp.com/album/strange-kind-of-paradise www.stereoembersmagazine.com (http://www.stereoembersmagazine.com) www.bombshellradio.com www.alexgreenbooks.com (http://www.alexgreenbooks.com) Stereo Embers The Podcast BLUESKY + IG: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

David Wolfenden in conversation with David Eastaugh n 1982, the Lorries' manager Dave Hall provided independent record label Red Rhino with a cassette of the group's demos. Impressed by the quality of the songs, Red Rhino label head "Tony K" (Tony Kostrzewa) signed the band and immediately released "Beating My Head" unchanged from the demo as the band's debut single. Fagan and Smith soon departed the band, to be replaced by Dave Wolfenden and Paul Southern respectively. Afterwards, bassist Southern was replaced by Leon Phillips. While numerous additional personnel changes would occur in the history of the band, Wolfenden became a mainstay and a frequent songwriting partner of Reed's during the band's most productive period. In 1983 and 1984, the band released several more singles (including "He's Read" and "Monkeys On Juice", which reached No. 9 on the NME indie chart). John Peel was an early supporter, and the band recorded two radio sessions for him in March and November 1983 (released on CD in 2014 as BBC Sessions 1983 - 1984, part of the band's 3-CD compilation See the Fire).

For upcoming episodes, Rob is spending a bit of time sharing his thoughts on the current political and macroeconomic climate. He is kicking back against the misinformation that currently permeates the mainstream media and sharing his thoughts on important subjects that affect the world economy and other aspects of our lives. This episode is about the tactics used by climate protests. As well as the need to be realistic about how the switch to cleaner energy sources happens and which power sources the world uses. KEY TAKEAWAYS The world economy cannot be sustained simply by putting up solar panels and building wind farms. Stopping the traffic creates more pollution. Lorries have to keep their fridges running, people keep their engines on to stay warm. It is not possible to stop using oil overnight, it is used in so many products. Protesting is not an effective way to find solutions. The world needs answers not blocking traffic. BEST MOMENTS ‘The overall answer is not wind and solar, it alone will not run the world economy.' ‘Wake up, smell the coffee and realise that this process is going to take a long, long time, you're not just going to cut off oil overnight.' ‘Get off your climate high horse, okay. Stop criminalising things and start providing some solutions.' ABOUT THE HOST  Rob Smallbone, the host of The Property Nomads Podcast, is on a global mission to guide your success. Success can happen in many ways, shapes, and forms. Think about what success means to you. More properties? More clients? Financial freedom? Time freedom? The leaves are changing, and the season is spooky. Making it the perfect time for Katie & Nate to do a new Chili Crawler episode. After the heavy episodes, its easy to agree, a lighter episode was needed. So Katie made HER OWN Chili Recipe and the voids were filled in Nates belly for a good ole fashioned recipe. With all the new series being released on Netflix, it was just to easy for our Head Creeps to choose The Sins of Our Mother to watch and immediately feel compelled to do a review on the series the covered Lorrie Vallow and Chad Daybell as they use the excuse of Religion to end the lives of Lorries children. Strap In creeps, while this may be a lighter episode, its still one sure to leave pissed off with parentings views, religion, and a crawling case, of the creeps.

Another episode where I feel like I am expressing my road rage. Considering, a lot of our lives are spent on the roads, there is so much about driving that could annoy us. This week, its my time to pick on lorries, trucks and all other kinds of heavy goods vehicles and their overtaking etiquette. I have never driven a vehicle larger than a van so can't relate, but that doesn't stop me having a moan about how their overtaking manoeuvres are impacting my day As always, I am interested in your feedback and commentary via social media... or via email Twitter: @AnnoyingPodcast Instagram: @Annoying_Podcast Email: nothingmoreannoying@gmail.com --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nothingmoreannoying/message

Lorries backing up in Kent, a Mars bar shortage, and no more Rome city breaks – these are just some of the things that we have been warned about when it comes to a no deal Brexit. But what will really happen? Lara Prendergast talks to two people who disagree on almost everything. Lord Peter Lilley, Tory MP, has said that a no-deal Brexit would be better than the status quo; he's joined by Ian Dunt, editor of politics.co.uk, who thinks that it would be an ‘unmitigated disaster'. It was a pretty fiery exchange from the two Brexit experts – the debate ranged from nuclear isotopes to Chinese kettles. Tune in to make your own mind up about no deal.
