Noam Wallenberg mixes it up. He's all about creative limitations, be it tracking with the “wrong mics” or mixing a live record like a studio recording. We dig into the music he's made with acts like Vulfpeck and The Fearless Flyers, what exactly tape does to music, and how taking the unconventional route can get you to beautifully unexpected places. For 30% off your first year of DistroKid to share your music with the world click DistroKid.com/vip/lovemusicmoreSubscribe to this pod's blog on Substack to receive deeper dives on the regular

Hello Groovers, I am super excited to be joined in the discotheque by @alexander_flood! We'll be chatting about his new album Oscillate. Tune in Tuesday 10pm, Brooklyn time on @thefaceradiobk Oscillate, the third offering from Australian bandleader and drummer Alexander Flood, forges a new direction in his sound, pushing a fresh rhythmic and dynamic realm of live dance music. A synthesis of club music and jazz, the new tracks bring together Australian and European energies leaning on house music, broken beat, DnB, funk, experimental music, and live improvisation. This is music for the body. In mid 2022 Alex travelled from Australia to Berlin to make the record, where he assembled a dream team crew of creative innovators featuring Hungarian keyboard player Àbáse, Australian bass guru Horatio Luna, and Brazilian flautista Paulo Cedraz. Together the group cut six unique dance tracks at Berlin's iconic Jazzanova Studios, engineered by Grammy nominated Axel Reinemer. From the shuffling broken beats and dancing flute melodies in title track “Oscillate” to the experimental uptempo “Deja Vu”, the momentum of the music ceases to stop. “U R THA 1” features a driving jungle sound of re-pitched drums, vocal chops and 808 bass, and “Berlin” captures a classic funky 90s house feel powered by 4-on-the-floor kick and melodic basslines from Horatio Luna. Paulo Cedraz shines on flute in the Caribbean influenced “Ginealach”, and the LP finishes with the head-bopping “Hüpf” giving the listener a taste of some down-tempo beat music atop a bed of Àbáse's lush rhodes. From top to bottom, the unique voices and powerful musicianship of each band member is obvious. Australian influence is at the core of the sound not only through the bass and drum chair, but through the punchy characteristic mix by Melbourne's Lewis Moody and master by Gareth Thomson. The final piece of the puzzle was bringing in Alex's childhood drum and percussion teacher Joel Prime, where they overdubbed additional percussion parts together in London. QO - the man, the myth, the legend and a one-man army is back! After a successful string of acclaimed collabs with the likes of Computerartist, Holotrope, Trilo and more, the Hoofbeats Music label bossman returns with his first solo release on the label after 5 long years! „Oscillate“ sees him in his prime form, from the enigmatic and dangerously sounding intro slowly building into a full-blown stomper that holds no prisoners. Heavy drums, aggressive synth stabs and machine-gun-like bass line, this tune is not for the faint-hearted. Apart from his usual studio prowess, this time he also becomes his own MC, hypnotically chanting words over the militant instrumental. Lambda State | Himalayan Tibetan Monks Tradition Meditation | Complete Oneness And Wholeness Frequency: Lambda waves oscillate at a frequency of 100-200 Hz. * Oscillate means to move or swing back and forth in a regular rhythm. Overview: Lambda are very high frequency waves, much higher than the Gamma frequency range, and even higher than the Hyper Gamma range, which is around the 100Hz mark. As mentioned in the introduction, Lambda waves are closely related to Epsilon waves. Interestingly, if you zoom in far enough you would see that embedded within the slow Epsilon wave is a very fast Lambda wave. The Epsilon wave is essentially riding on the Lambda wave. Lambda waves are associated with experienced meditators, such as the Tibetan monks, who are able to meditate in the Himalayan mountains for hours without succumbing to the very low temperatures. Similarly, you may have heard of a man known as the ‘Iceman', who is able to control his core body temperature and withstand freezing temperatures. It is thought that he is able to tap into the Lambda waves brain state for a prolonged period of time. Wim Hof, the Iceman. Like the Himalayan Tibetan Monks he is able to meditate at extremely low temperatures. Lambda is therefore associated with a much higher level of consciousness, beyond simply deep meditation or spiritual consciousness. It is more a state of complete oneness and wholeness. Benefits: The Lambda state seems to be an almost a secretive one, one that is somewhat shrouded in mystery. And that would make sense considering it is incidentally tied to the Tibetan meditation tradition. Lambda is often associated with a moment of discovery and insight that is indescribable, an “aha” moment, so to speak. I guess the best way of putting it would be if you suddenly understood the meaning of life: you'd be able to feel it and sense it, but unable to put it into words. SUBSCRIBE NOW

Ever since 1947, Pakistan has always been seen as either a West-friendly country or an anti-West nation. Pakistan didn't, and to date does not have a positive working relationship with both sides, and hence has never been seen as a neutral country. The problem is as new as it is old. Imran Khan's pre-meditated visit to Russia on 23rd-24th February sparked outrage in the Western Bloc as if the country had endorsed the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was despite Pakistan condemning the breach of sovereignty by the Russian forces. To discuss the instability, I called upon Professor Dr. Zahir Hussain to explain the issue and answer my questions. If you like the episode, consider liking the episode and sharing it with others to help Let's Talk Pakistan grow.

Hi peeps….. Welcome to the 14th episode the Confined Spaces Radio Show. My tonight's guest is Larmour from Liverpool. Music producer and abstract artist Larmour is on a voyage into the spheres of electronic music and art.. His sound is a heady and intoxicating rush of future nostalgia that leans into moody eighties synth work, tight electro rhythms and euphoric old school breaks. His superb release ‘Inside Out' smashed it's way to the top of various charts and into the boxes of DJ giants such as Sasha. Also, his sound has found homes on melodic house labels such as Terakt Records, OSCILLATE, 10 Steps North and 64K recordings. Recently, he has been fusing his more left-field music with art in intriguing new ways, and his first ambient project features a new vocal collaboration and a killer line up of remixers. With the backing of big names in the industry and determination to push himself ever onwards, the future looks as vibrant and exhilarating as his music. Jimena Amarillo destaca en la escena del nuevo pop español hecho por debutantes jóvenes, autosuficientes y espontáneos que mezclan influencias y géneros con naturalidad. You will hear a conversation with David Imhoof ‘92 on his latest book, So, Modern Europe. He is a professor of History, Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. This is what Professor Imhoof tells us about his book: “It’s definitely not a traditional textbook and is really aimed at students and others who don’t like history. I use humor, music, popular culture, and other means to try to demonstrate how important the big ideas of the Enlightenment continue to be to us today. It’s also a pretty funny story about how the book came about.” Trinity University’s Associate Professor of History Jason Johnson’s interview with Professor Imhoof reveals more interesting facts. As Victor continues to endure the non-sensical behavior of Los Angeles motorists, he finds solace in one type of particular individual, and shares the story on how he came about meeting this person. Rix then inquires about Victor's dental history and shares with us the wonders of using an electric toothbrush. The two then wrap things up by discussing Zoom calls and Rix's thoughts on potentially applying for a "first responders" job, but which one??

We brought on Dr. Ariele Foster, Physical Therapist, Yoga Teacher, & Founder of YogaAnatomyAcademy.com, to help us understand fascia (or the stuff between the stuff as she likes to call it.) She breaks down what fascia is and its role in the body while also sharing some simple techniques for practicing myofascial release on yourself. And, true to our belief in no B.S. allowed, Dr. Foster explains why practicing myofascial release fits in as self-care AFTER you are taking care of your body’s fundamental physical needs by drinking enough water, getting enough sleep & movement, and eating more veggies. In the “You Want Me To Do What??” section, Shanna shares about her experience using myofascial techniques on herself as well as getting treated by a credentialed practitioner. Also, Nicole chimes in with her thoughts on the fascia-focused yoga class that she tried out. Episode Recap: Interview with Dr. Ariele Foster - 2:42, “You Want Me To Do What??” section - 42:15 Highlights: The medical definition of fascia: a layer of fibrous tissue. Fascia is a structure of connective tissue that surrounds muscles, groups of muscles, blood vessels, and nerves, binding some structures together, while permitting others to slide smoothly over each other. Dr. Foster simplifies this into real human-speak in that fascia is “the stuff between the stuff.” Fascia is very slow healing. This means that lingering pain that you may feel after an injury or surgery, even years afterwards, may be from the fascia continuing to heal. Myofascial Release (MFR) deals with the nervous system and is used as a way to signal to the nervous system to relax. You should not feel pain when doing or getting MFR done! You may feel discomfort, but you should not feel pain. Multiple techniques and gadgets exist for using when practicing MFR. The main thing to be aware of when doing MFR is that any technique or gadget used should not cause more pain during or after practicing it. And you should definitely not experience bruising. #1 thing our fascia needs to stay healthy & happy is movement - Motion is Lotion Water/hydration is important for healthy fascia Myofascial Release (MFR) techniques: Draping - pause & rest your body part over an object to let your body weight aid in the release. This is good to do with your feet (eg. standing on or putting pressure through your foot on a tennis ball) or in places you are not cutting off blood supply Oscillate - create pressure on one area and do a gentle rocking back & forth Plowing - apply pressure and slowly move the pressure up/down *Important not to go too fast with any MFR technique Dr. Foster’s top tips for keeping fascia happy: Move your body Eat lots of veggies & plant-based foods Keep sugar consumption low Stay hydrated Eat enough fiber Get your macronutrients, including protein Play around with adding chia seeds & gelatinous foods into your diet Resources: Where to find Dr. Ariele Foster: Instagram: @dr.ariele.foster Facebook: facebook.com/SacredSourceYoga Website: http://sacredsourceyoga.com/ YouTube: youtube.com/c/SacredSourceYoga Where to find Yoga Anatomy Academy: Instagram: @yogaanatomyacademy Facebook: facebook.com/yogaanatomyacademy Website: yogaanatomyacademy.com Way of the Happy Fascia Course: https://yogaanatomyacademy.com/product/way-of-the-happy-fascia-online-course/

It was local word of mouth that elevated Australian Kate Miller from local to international notoriety. Her ability to fluidly jump genres and eras always leaves dance floors in a spin, and after emerging in Melbourne she followed the music to Berlin when she eventually became resident at the Oscillate party at ://about blank. Those sets allowed her the freedom to explore and pick up a fan base, and now she is someone who tells long and winding stories, with selections and feelings that define her sets more than tempo or technicality. The 90 minute session Kate lays down for us is perfectly warm and rhythmic. It's united by rubbery kicks and deep, warm sub bass, but ever changing kick patterns and synths that range from absorbing and ambient to dark and paranoid always keep things moving. It is the sound of a DJ who is always in control, a masterclass in tension and release that means you're always on the edge, excited for what is to come. It's okay to oscillate in your life and with your leadership. In fact, I'd encourage you to do so. Regularly scan your surroundings and your interests, back and forth; taking note of changes in the landscape, people's beliefs, and your opinion. This predictability is a strength. To vacillate, however, is a weakness. Churning like a whirling dervish, from one pursuit to another, either in conversation or in action, is haphazard. *** About Reflections on Leadership: Leadership advisor, writer, and no BS accountability partner, Karl Bimshas, shares quick reflections on leadership, and interviews other busy professionals, to challenge your perspective, provide inspiration, and give insights to help you manage better and lead well. Slinky subaquatic electro from the Oscillate co-curator. Interview with @katemiller: melbournedeepcast.net/portfolio/kate-miller "This mix is pretty indicative of what I am playing out at the moment. Lots of moody electro and pretty varying in speed. I'm really enjoying playing with tempo at the moment and am hunting down as much footwork as I can that fits in with the other things I play. A couple of favourites from this mix are from artists; Silvia Kastel, upsammy, Reptant, D. Tiffany, Sully and J.Wiltshire."
“It’s very difficult to find what your voice is capable of until you push the emotional buttons.” - Matthew Kimberley (click to tweet) Product, service, or anything in between, our lives run on the ability to create, market, and sell whatever it is that others deem as valuable. … And that last step is crucial. If we aren’t able to sell, we get caught in a hamster wheel of effort with no return. Squeak squeak. On today’s episode of Steal the Show, we are joined by Matthew Kimberley. Matthew is the former head of the Book Yourself Solid School of Coach Training, and is now the founder of The School for Selling. His first book How To Get A Grip sold over 50,000 copies—and every year, Matthew transforms sales teams, business owners, and independent service professionals to get more clients: more consistently and more elegantly. Tune in to this conversation gather Matthew’s insights, as they relate to performing on stage, selling with transparency, and finding your path. You can learn more about Matthew Kimberley at his website here “Sophistication doesn’t mean complexity.” - Matthew Kimberley (click to tweet) Steal the Points Inauthenticity comes from lack of knowledge in sales. Be as transparent as possible to prevent this. Disarm honesty in sales conversations by saying objectives out loud. Be aware that public speaking as a career requires lots of travel. Add sophistication by paring something down, not making it more complex. Most speakers haven’t learned how to earn the audience’s attention because they haven’t been forced to.
