If you're a football fan, you should already know at this point that Cristiano Ronaldo almost always has the last laugh. You call him finished, he'll just go on and score a hattrick in the next game. Call him a dinosaur, he'll just go on and break another record. Call him the problem of the club, he'll just go ahead and become the only player from that same club to make the PFA Team of the year. Basically, just be very careful when you mock the Portugal captain, he always has a special way of shutting his haters up. Diego Simeone can give you his firsthand account of how mocking Cristiano Ronaldo backfired in just a matter of weeks. But well, that is not the South American we are interested in in this video. Today, we're focusing on Shakira who was guilty of mocking CR7 back in 2011 and was shut up just minutes after.

Mark Schwarzer joins us on the line from England for all the fallout from the Manchester Derby and to continue the inquisition into what happens now for Manchester United, with some big predictions for Ole Gunner Solskjaer's future. Schwarzer joins David Weiner alongside former Socceroos Paul Okon and Luke Wilkshire, as well as Manchester United graduate Ashley Westwood, who brings experience from over 400 English Football League games, to the table. What happens to Paul Pogba? Solskjaer? Which players are on the chopping block and how do you off-load them? The latest on the title race is on the agenda once again, as well as Robbie Fowler's appointment at Brisbane Roar; the PFA Team of the Year; Everton's revival; Wilfried Zaha's future; Rafa Benitez's Newcastle miracle; Elton John's FA Cup final dilemma and the logjam in the race for fourth. There is also a chat around the Championship, as Westwood reveals what it is like to be involved in a promotion and the crew look at Leeds' faltering momentum at the wrong time of the season. With Marcel Brands and Marco Silva set to hold talks over the future of Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines, with the expectation that the long-serving duo will get an answer on new contracts before the final home game of the season, a large part of the latest Royal Blue podcast concerns two players who have been cornerstones for the club. Phil Kirkbride is the man firing the questions at Dave Prentice, Sam Carroll and Paul Wheelock, who start by discussing whether it's right that Baines - as is anticipated - is offered a new deal. But will he accept? And is there another club in the Premier League that has such strength in depth at left-back? Prenno then gives his hunch as to whether Jags will also be given the chance to stay, which leads to a debate about whether Everton can be afford to be sentimental when it comes to their captain. The second part of the podcast concentrates on the PFA Team of the Year and the omission of Lucas Digne. But given Paul Pogba bizarrely did get in, Phil wonders if a different Blues player should also feel hard done-by. And before he and Sam head off to London, the panel preview Saturday's clash at Crystal Palace and give their predictions. Enjoy. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Natalie Sawyer and Gab Marcotti are joined by Oli Kay and Alan Smith after a big midweek in the Premier League. Manchester City played their game in hand at Old Trafford and ran out 2-0 winners in the Manchester derby. Was that their biggest hurdle to clear in the title race? Or will Burnley and their anti-football provide sterner opposition? Paul Pogba is named in the PFA Team of the Year which has incensed many. Do players take the nominations seriously enough or do they just look for different values? Arsenal suffer back to back defeats and continue to have problems in defence but do they have problems in attack on the horizon? And is the race for 4th place something to be excited about? Or is it the battle of mediocre teams in transition? Charlie Scott and Paddy von Behr provide advice ahead of the fantasy football weekend. From the moment Jurgen Klopp walked into the media room at Melwood this afternoon, you could tell this was going to be a good press conference. Unsurprisingly, the Liverpool manager is asked first whether he watched Manchester City’s win at rivals Manchester United – he did – and what he made of it. He also provides an update on the condition – if that’s the right word – on Mohamed Salah after the in-form forward’s trip to New York, and the fitness of Fabinho and Dejan Lovren. Klopp is also quizzed on his summer transfer plans, in which he categorically rules out a move for one reported target, as well as talking about Huddersfield Town’s visit to Anfield on Friday, and this most close-run of title races, and why this season is only the start for his record-breaking side. Also on the agenda is the ‘machine’ James Milner, the inclusion of four Liverpool players in the PFA Team of the Year and the importance of Simon Mignolet and his fellow squad players. And, perhaps best of all, what advice Klopp would give to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.  For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

So the race for the Premier League remains in Manchester City’s hands after they beat Manchester United in the derby at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. But if you’re thinking our latest Blood Red podcast, hosted by Sam Carroll and featuring Caoimhe O’Neill, Sean Bradbury and (over the phone) our Liverpool FC correspondent James Pearce, is a downbeat one, then think again. After a brutal takedown of a a ‘pitifully poor’ United side, James argues you still wouldn’t swap City’s final three fixtures for the Reds’, while Sean thinks scheduling could aid Jurgen Klopp’s side, and Caoimhe offers a memorable moment from City’s past that also proves all hope is not lost. But if Pep Guardiola’s men do defend their title, James is supremely confident that this Liverpool team are going to be challenging for the top honours for the years to come, and explains why. Talk then turns to the PFA Team of the Year, and the impending announcement that Virgil van Dijk has been named PFA Player of the Year, and why two Reds players can feel hard done by that they’ve not also been honoured by their fellow pros – especially when Paul Pogba has. James also comments on tonight’s FA Youth Cup final (a full preview with him can be listened to HERE) before heading off to Klopp’s pre-Huddersfield Town press conference at Melwood. That leaves Sam, Caoimhe and Sean to look ahead to the visit of Huddersfield to Anfield, debate the changes the Reds could and should make, as well as give their nominations for the club’s player of the year, young player of the year and goal of the season.
