He emphasizes the importance of journaling as a tool for reflection and reframing, sharing personal anecdotes about parenting and the challenges faced with his son. The conversation also covers the significance of gratitude, viewing experiences as experiments rather than failures, and the necessity of catching negative thoughts to foster a more positive mindset. Our hosts discuss practical strategies for managing negativity with bipolar disorder in this episode. They explore the importance of setting realistic expectations and making necessary adjustments in daily routines. They also emphasize the value in understanding and differentiating between baseline emotions and those triggered by bipolar disorder. Gabe, who lives with bipolar himself, shares insights on reframing negative experiences to recognize the positives in life — or at least to see a different perspective. Listen now to learn how intentional positivity and self-awareness can combat negative thinking and improve overall well-being. "Yes, it sucks. Bipolar disorder is not anything that anybody's signing up for. But if you have it, it doesn't mean that you should just view everything as all doom and gloom and nothing's ever going to go right for you. And you can say that about just about any diagnosis. It's cancer, it's diabetes, it's heart disease. Yes, they all suck. We would not wish them on anybody. But just because you are diagnosed with bipolar disorder doesn't mean that you just go lay down and just think, well, I might as well give up and go eat worms because I have this thing. There's still a way for you to find enjoyment in life, even through the struggle of having to deal with this very difficult thing." ~Dr. Nicole Washington To learn more -- or read the transcript -- visit the official episode page. Join Destiny on today's episode as she shares practical tools to help you identify the source of your negative thoughts and how to combat them. The first step in overcoming negative thoughts is to recognize their source. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." We must understand that negative thoughts often stem from the enemy's attempts to discourage and distract us from God's truth. Once we recognize the source of these negative thoughts, we can combat them with the power of God's Word. In 2 Corinthians 10:5, we are instructed to "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." This means that we have the authority to reject negative thoughts and replace them with God's promises and truth. The practice of speaking biblically rooted affirmations is a powerful tool for overcoming negative thoughts and cultivating a healthy mindset. By consistently speaking affirmations, we can train our minds to focus on God's truth and overcome negative thinking patterns. Fueling Healthy Thoughts: Overcoming Darkness and Transformative Resilience In this episode I have some raw and vulnerable moments about this year and reflect on what I believe I need to work on with my own stinkin' thinkin'. Being more intentional with what we feed our minds is essential in turning things around, creating hope in our lives, and being a light in the darkness. It was recorded on MLK Day and I was inspired by his memory and his ability to be the man outside the box pushing through oppressive norms and spurring on all people of color to dare to dream bigger, and believe that more is possible. Here's a run down of this episode Reflecting on the challenges of the past year and the struggle to maintain balance in life. Coping Strategies and Tools: Introducing coping strategies, including mindful eating and being aware of sense impressions. Discussing the impact of volition on happiness and the importance of cultivating healthy desires. Addressing the role of consciousness in transforming painful events and finding enlightenment. This time of year is filled with expected joy, dazzling lights and festivities. But if you're suffering from a recent loss, these few weeks can be acutely painful. You feel the absence of someone or something that at one time contributed greatly to your happiness and wellbeing. Dr. Lee Warren understands the pain of searing loss; his son was stabbed to death by a close friend. The details of the murder are not clear, so Warren, a brain surgeon, inventor, and Iraq War veteran, had to deal with not only the pain, but also the inconsolable emotion of not understanding why. So he became his own patient. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, Warren talks about his book, "Hope Is The First Dose: A Treatment Plan For Recovering From Trauma, Tragedy, And Other Massive Things." It's a follow up to his other book, "I've Seen the End of You," a book that looks at treating people with untreatable brain tumors. "Hope..." is not only Warren's self-analysis, but expands the scope to say that we all have these 'massive things' in our life that we must come to grips with in order to move forward. We can either be crushed by them, or find hope in overcoming them. This transformational place of life and light will emerge after the event, the wave, or the flash. Metatron explains that everyone will see what they thought were fairy tales, and some people may not be able to take it all in. Hapiland can be slow down to sound like 'Happy Land', and is spelled H-A-P-I-L-A-N-D. It doesn't matter how you say it. There will be so many colors on the New Earth because color is life and light. Some people will need help to take in all of the light, because they may have lived in so much darkness in their lives. We also discuss the difficult decision of whether or not to fight for something, and how to know when it is worth it. Explore the idea of living a carefree life, and be reminded that living happily is harder on your planet, as people don't take kindly to it. They are triggered by Light, because they have forgotten their Light. Choosing to work in the light is the best way to achieve true happiness and contentment. Listen in as we also talk about the analogy of the Ego as a double-edged sword and how to use it to stay positive, how to use positive thinking to help you maneuver through difficult times. Learn the importance of not letting your ego take over and how to be strong without being negative. Don't miss this opportunity to expand your mind and prepare for the vibrant and magical world that awaits us all. Towards the end of this episode, we explore the power of Quantum Healing Hypnosis and how it can help you access the quantum realms and receive the answers to your deepest questions. Silent Saturday with Dr. Lidia MartinezLisa Lorenzo and Dr. Lidia Martinez are discussing Holy Saturday, the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, when Jesus' body laid in the tomb. It is a time of reflection, mourning, and waiting for the promise of the resurrection. They reference Matthew 27, which explains that the guard at the tomb was posted on Preparation Day. The conversation centers around the somber feeling of Holy Saturday and the importance of taking time to reflect on this day in order to better appreciate the Easter Sunday resurrection. They discuss the importance of understanding the sacrifice Jesus made in order to better appreciate the gift of salvation. They encourage listeners to take time to reflect on this day, think about Jesus' suffering, and appreciate the resurrection that followed. The conversation reflects on the time before Jesus' resurrection, when his disciples were in hiding and filled with fear, feeling lost and alone. The guard was posted to keep the tomb secure until the third day, to prevent the disciples from stealing the body and claiming he had been raised from the dead. The conversation then shifts to reflect on how we can find hope in our own dark times. We cannot rely on our emotions, as they are fleeting, but must instead be rooted in Jesus. It is important to reframe our thinking and to remember that even in moments of hopelessness, it is only a moment in time. The conversation focused on how to cope with difficult emotions, such as sorrow and grief. The speakers suggested not making any decisions and instead just being, as they are daughters and sons of Christ. They suggested finding positive coping skills such as cleaning the house, going for a run, and praying. Other tools suggested included having an attitude of gratitude, challenging negative thought patterns, reframing suffering as an opportunity for growth, practicing mindfulness and self-compassion, and building a support network. The conversation concluded with a reminder to come back full circle to gratitude. The conversation focused on how to reframe suffering and negative thoughts in order to bring joy and gratitude into one's life. They discussed how to challenge negative thought patterns by meditating on God's word and character. They also discussed how to reframe suffering as an opportunity for growth and how to practice mindfulness and self-compassion. Finally, they discussed building a social support network and focusing on gratitude and joy. They referenced scriptures from Romans 12:2, Philippians 4:8, James 1:2-4, Romans 8:28, Matthew 11:28, and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. The speakers encouraged listeners to not take action based on their feelings, seek help if needed, surrender to God, and remember that feelings may come and go.Timestamps0:00:00Therapy Thursday: Reflecting on Holy Saturday with Dr. Lidia Martinez0:01:48Conversation on Finding Hope in Difficult Times0:06:23Conversation on Reframing Negative Thought Patterns and Finding Gratitude0:08:36Conversation on Overcoming Negative Thoughts and Reframing Suffering0:15:55Conversation between Dr. Lydia and Friend on Praying Continually and Finding Joy in Difficult Times0:17:41Faith with Friends Podcast: Finding Hope in Difficult Times

Creating a new path in life can be both exciting and intimidating. Whether it's starting a new business, pursuing a new career, or making a major life change, stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something new can be challenging. One of the biggest obstacles in creating a new path is breaking old habits. In this blog post, we will explore ways to overcome resistance and push through to create a new path. Identify Your Old Habits: The first step in breaking old habits is to identify them. Reflect on your current habits and behaviors that are holding you back from achieving your goals. Write them down and acknowledge them. Understand the Power of Your Mindset: Your mindset plays a significant role in breaking old habits. It's essential to shift your mindset from a limiting belief to an empowering one. Instead of thinking, "I can't do this," reframe your thinking to "I can do this." Set Goals and Create a Plan: Setting goals and creating a plan can help you stay focused on your new path. Identify the steps you need to take to achieve your goals and create a timeline for each step. Find Support and Accountability: Creating a new path can be lonely, but having support and accountability can help you stay on track. Reach out to friends, family, or a mentor who can support and encourage you. Joining a group or hiring a coach can also provide accountability and motivation Take Action: Breaking old habits and creating a new path requires action. It's essential to take small steps toward your goals every day. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small, and keep moving forward. In conclusion, breaking old habits and creating a new path can be challenging, but it's possible with the right mindset, support, and action. Identifying your old habits, shifting your mindset, setting goals and creating a plan, finding support and accountability, and taking action are all essential steps in overcoming resistance and pushing through to create a new path. Remember, it's never too late to start something new and create the life you want. In this sermon we discuss the importance and benefits of having a positive mindset, being optimistic and hopeful in all situations. We learn six Biblical practices for developing and maintain a positive mindset: (a)Develop and maintain a Bible-based self-image (b) Practice renewed thinking - Think in terms of miracles (c) Picture, pray and proclaim the promises of God fulfilled (d) Be strong mentally – don't quit (e) Keep hope alive at all times (f) Stay single-minded. Mental health has to do with how you are doing in your soul - your mind, will and emotions. It has to do with your emotional and psychological well-being. Having good mental health, being sound, well and whole in your soul is important because it affects how we feel, think, and behave. It affects how we go about life, how we relate to others, how we face challenges and handle difficult situations and how we do in things we are responsible for - education, work, etc. When we are doing well mentally, we can enjoy life, enjoy meaningful relationships, enjoy work, overcome life's challenges, be productive, keep growing towards our full potential and make meaningful contributions to those around us. The fact is that all of us face challenges at one point or another, with our mental health, our emotional and psychological well-being. There is nothing wrong in recognizing the difficulties you are facing, to get help, and address those mental health challenges in a positive way. This sermon series presents a Biblical approach towards training and developing our mind, so that we can maintain good mental health, live with soundness, wellness, and wholeness in our mind, with a good, healthy positive mindset. In part 1, we discuss "The Mind, Imagination and Mental Health." In part 2, we address the topics of "Concentration, Distractions, Wandering". In part 3, we try to understand how "Temptations, Addictions, Deceptions" work and how to overcome these. In part 4, we learn about "Controlling Your Thoughts, Training Your Thinking" so we can use our faculties effectively. In part 5, we discover the important discipline of "Renewing Your Mind and Renewed Thinking", that transforms our way of life. In part 6, we learn the Biblical way to "Overcoming Negative Thoughts", an important area for all of us. In part 7: we understand the importance of "Maintaining a Positive Mindset". In this sermon we discuss four Biblical practices in countering negative thoughts and emotions and illustrate how these are applied to (a)overcoming fear, (b)overcoming depression and (c)overcoming thoughts of self-harm and suicide. A, Meditate in God's Word B, Speak God's Word C, Take thoughts captive, cast down arguments and imaginations and pull-down strongholds D, Renew the mind by thinking aligned to God's thoughts and God's ways We also discuss how to deal with the negatives of the past, situations where we may have done wrong, as in the case of Jacob and Esau, or past situations where we have been wronged, as in the case of Joseph and his brothers. In this sermon we address an important instruction given to us in New Testament Scripture on the renewing of the mind. We examine the Scriptures to understand why we need to renew the mind, what does it mean to renew the mind, how do we renew the mind, and what are some of the benefits of renewing the mind. In “renewing our minds” we discard our thoughts and ways which are carnal, earthly, and corrupted and take on God's thoughts and ways. A renewed mind results in a transformed lifestyle. A renewed mind is necessary to prove and discover God's will. Mental health has to do with how you are doing in your soul - your mind, will and emotions. In this episode, I discuss some of the daily mental challenges I am working through and how they can overwhelm me at times. As much as it feels good to be working on a more positive mindset, it is a constant battle in my head between the happy side and angry side. Today I decided to share my thoughts openly with the hope that it will allow me to release the negativity and continue to increase the positive thoughts into my brain.

Last week we talked about how negative thoughts are formed and how they can derail us from our destiny. A negative thought is a negative pattern or repetitive thought that is unhelpful. Our desire is for you to overcome negative thoughts and patterns of thinking. This week we will discuss the different types of negative thoughts and help you identify if you are a negative thinker. We will provide you with tools to overcome it by giving you five tips to help you overcome negative thinking. Points to ponder: Your life is perfectly designed to produce the results you're receiving today. Whatever you receive today, you designed it. (5:56) Every time we think about a negative action, it never gets better. It's always worse. (7:28) Anything worth doing is worth doing badly (8:30). We would love to be a part of your journey and part of what God's doing. Let us know how we can help you by sending a message to mystory@jimnkyles.com. Life's battlefield is not fought on the outside; it's fought on the inside in our minds. The greatest war we will ever face is what we are thinking. Oftentimes, it is what we are thinking when we aren't thinking. For the past two weeks, we have talked about paradigms and how they can impact the way we see things. Once our paradigms are set, the battle moves into our minds. Every experience we have is filtered through and processed through our brain according to how we see it. A lot of the things that we fight or experience in life are influenced by our perception In today's episode, we will be talking about the Power of Thinking, our thoughts, and our perceptions. Thoughts can be barriers or building blogs and today, we will discuss how to break the limitations that have held you back. Points to ponder: Don't let any limitation stop you, in your thinking, from doing something today to move you forward in the vision and dream that God has for your life. (21:05) If you want to change your life, first, you got to change your thoughts. Let me say it like this, you'll never change your life until you change your thinking. (22:19) Whatever you've been thinking is what you're living. Your life is perfectly designed to get the results you're getting right now today. (23:23) We would love to be a part of your journey and be a part of what God's doing. Let us know how we can help you by sending a message to mystory@jimnkyles.com. Don't forget to visit https://jimnkyles.com to get your FREE copy of "Help! Overcoming Negative Thoughts Everyone falls prey to negative thoughts sometimes. It's like watching a film that begins with clear skies and happiness and seeing it turn into dark clouds and horror. The bad thing is that there's no eerie music to alert us when that turn takes place in our minds from positive to negative. We can only tune into our thoughts once in a while to see how we're doing. When you catch yourself thinking negatively there are a few things you can do – actually practice – that can help you overcome the negativity and get yourself into that “happy ending.” 1. Adjust the tone of your voice, both inner and outer. When you find that you're speaking or thinking tone is harsh and negative, change it to a lighter and more positive tone. 2. Meditation. Finding some time for yourself to meditate or just relax and restore your energy levels can do wonders for your outlook. When you combine some yoga stretches or deep breathing, you can make bigger leaps. 3. Smile. The best way to diffuse a negative situation is to smile – really smile, with your eyes and your entire face and demeanour. It can lift a mood almost instantaneously and help to relieve stress, too (and it takes fewer facial muscles to smile than to frown). 4. Help someone else. Becoming a benefactor to someone can fill your heart and mind with happiness. And, how can you think and project negative thoughts when you're so happy? 5. Keep a gratitude journal. Those who have had to overcome great obstacles in their lives say they kept and still do keep a gratitude journal and wrote a few things in it every day that they were grateful for. It helped to get them through bad times. 6. Choose positive people to be around. You may have to work with negative people, and you may have some in your own family, but your friends that you choose can be positive ones who help you put things into perspective when you're thinking negatively. Do whatever works for you to lift your spirits and get you out of negative self-talk. Some people exercise. That gets the endorphins flowing and keeps you from becoming depressed. Dancing and singing are also proven mood lifters. You don't have to be good enough for “American Idol” or “Dancing with the Stars.” Just dance or sing unfiltered and see how the stress can melt away. You are in charge of the choices you make in life, and you can either choose to be a negative or a positive person to go through life.

There has been a cloud of negative energy hovering over me for the last few days and I finally realized it wasn't from outside, it was from inside and needed to be expunged.Whenever you try to grow and change, you will get pushback. There will be people that don't believe in you, people that won't understand. There will be times when you feel alone and the negative will attempt to work its way into your head. That's where recognizing that this is a normal step in the change process can help you overcome it.In today's episode I talk about my own experience and how to get that negativity out and replaced by positive energy.Because we are energetic beings, we are either working with a positive or a negative energy. You rarely sit at neutral. Therefore, this is a great episode to learn practical steps to grow when you're feeling the negative inside and outside.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=AGHBCSQAFVNZ6)
