"Even though Justin Davis put himself at the crime scene, investigators only arrested me, and Justin was not arrested until nearly 4 weeks later. His arrest came only after the State Police took over the case, and he made what was his 3rd and 4th statements. Then the Amherst County Prosecutor, Stephanie Madox, stepped down from the case under suspicion and Special Prosecutor, Marsha L. Garst from Harrisonburg was appointed the case. Forensic evidence in the form of ballistics, DNA, surveillance, fingerprints, trajectory, phone records, and the property were analysed. Despite all of the evidence, nothing could be used to show my guilt, and in fact, most of it proved my innocence. As a result, the Prosecutor turned to 4 individuals to use as “snitches” to bolster its non-existent case." And so begins the story of Timothy Wright's trial and conviction. The lies, the deceipt, the cover ups - all the corruption in the system used to wrongfully convict an innocent man. Tim continues his story from inside prison in the state of Virginia. "I was arrested on May 6, 2008, and to this day I have proclaimed my innocence and continue to fight to prove my innocence. I was arrested for murder and was eventually charged with one count of 1st degree murder and one count each of three fire arms charges. I was arrested on the sole testimony of what later became my “co-defendant”, Justin M Davis. Even though his testimony changed six different times, and the police admitted to not believing all or part of that testimony. I was still arrested. I immediately knew that I was being framed for this crime to save Justin Davis." And so begins the story of how Timothy Wright was convicted of a crime he didn't commit. There is more to a company than just a really cool product or two. The best businesses are built on revolutionary products mixed with value-adding opportunities, marketing, partnerships, and leadership. Dome Audio has all of that in spades. On this episode of Up Next in Commerce, I sat down with my friend Timothy Wright, a Super Bowl champion and the chief strategy officer of Dome Audio, a disruptive headphone technology that has the world's first surround sound, bone conduction headphones. Tim breaks down what it took to build the patented bone conduction technology (sneak peak, just imagine a sketch, a cad file, and a 3d printer...). Plus, we dive into how they are thinking about licensing and IP partnerships and hint at a possibility for how they plan to utilize NFTs in the future. We also had a fun discussion that took us behind the scenes of his pro football journey with five NFL franchises that resulted in a Super Bowl XLIX ring, and lessons he has taken from the world of football and brought into his business ventures. Also, as a quick side note, I am an investor in Dome Audio, but this podcast is for purely informational purposes and not to be used to drive investment decisions. So with that, enjoy this episode with Tim Wright! Main Takeaways:Dream It, Build It: There are products on the market for just about everything. But who's to say those products can't be improved? Game-changing companies are built on ideas from people with the drive to put them into action. Use the resources at your disposal — your experience, your connections, the technology available — and iterate until you find the way to make a product that brings something unique to the marketplace.More Ways Than One: To have long-lasting success, companies need to find multiple avenues they can use to bring value. The product is one thing, but how else can you bring a different customer base or demographic to the table? The more ways you can monetize, the better. One Degree of Separation: To drive engagement and build buzz, you have to get in front of an audience. To do that, you have to build a team and partnerships that mirror, or are affiliated with, that target audience. The closer you can get to the people you want to reach — through brand partnerships, influencers, etc. — the better off you will be for a strong launch. For an in-depth look at this episode, check out the full transcript below. In this episode, Sounds Strategic host Meia Nouwens is joined by John Krzyzaniak, Research Analyst for Non-Proliferation and Nuclear Policy, and Timothy Wright, Research Analyst and Programme Administrator for Defence and Military Analysis, to discuss Iran, its missile-development programme and the JCPOA. With a new, Democrat-led administration in power, is the United States in a better position to make progress on the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and negotiations with Iran? Meia, John and Timothy discuss where the JCPOA stands now, the impact of domestic politics in both Iran and the US on bilateral negotiations, and how far the Biden administration is willing to go to revive the agreement. Meia, John and Tim also consider the status of Iran's missile-development programme and the strategies that are driving Tehran's investment in it. While noting that missiles are likely to be an ongoing focus for any negotiations between the US and Iran in the future, they argue that it is unrealistic to expect Iran to restrict its missile programme. Join us as Coach Rex Wells helps to keep the nostalgia alive! Just an amazing interview, not only about the 1957-1958 Springs Valley Black Hawks but about a life in the game of basketball and beyond! The book is outstanding, I would love to see it on the big screen! It's called "The Valley Boys: The Story of the 1958 Springs Valley Black Hawks". In the summer of 1957, the Indiana towns of French Lick and West Baden decided to merge two high schools that had been fierce rivals for decades. It was a decision that did not go over well in those divided communities. W. Timothy Wright weaves the gripping story here, chronicling the events that followed the fateful consolidation of two schools and two basketball teams. But an extraordinary first season slowly revealed the team’s fierce determination to win, and the players became a microcosm of the two towns, teaching its citizens how to come together as one united community. Lady Cassaundra Webb I was born in a little town called Nacogdoches, TX on November 25, 1968 (actually the oldest town in Texas and the home of the Stephen F. Austin State University). I am a mother of five children, grandmother of two precious little girls; and have been married for 21 years to one man Elder Jack Webb. I was raised in the community of Pine Flat, Texas and my church home was Pine Flat C.M.E. While a member, I served as the Sunday School Teacher, member of the choir, and also taught Mission class. I was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in July of 1993 at Wood's Memorial COGIC under the pastor, Supt. Chester Robinson. One Sunday night, after service I randomly walked up to Supt. Robinson and he spoke these words to me, “You look like you ought to be saved”. Those words anchored themselves deep in my spirit. I used what he said to make up my mind that I needed JESUS. During a revival on a Wednesday night, the Lord did a new thing in and for me. I had been AT church all my life, but now I've been in church the actual “Body of Christ”) for over 20 years. During the years following my Spiritual Birth, I have served as a youth choir director, Sunshine and Purity Band leader, Y.P.W.W. teacher, and whatever I have found for my hands to do. I come from a long line of gospel music singers, musicians, and preachers (Moore, Tolbert, Henderson, Horn, and Hart Families). There is someone in my family that can sing, play instrument, or something. Gospel music was and is my outlet in life! If I could just get a musical praise out, everything would be alright. Some of my favorite artist were and are Shirley Caesar, Dottie People, Beverly Crawford, Vicki Winans, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Karen Clark-Sheard, Twinkie Clark-Terrell, Carolyn Traylor, Kathy Taylor, Rev. Timothy Wright, Rev. James Cleveland, Rev. James Moore, and so many more.

When I started this show it was just designed to play a few songs and talk a little. The homie from Twitter reached out about making it more of a thing and it didnt seem like a bad idea. So I guess now we unintentionally have a version of Everyday Struggle (he's 25 and Im 37) if both speakers were introverts who actually agree on most things and explain their differing points of view in a much calmer fashion than Joe Budden and Akademiks. For our first episode we discussed what it is to be washed, the Bodak Yellow hoopla, why LL Cool J is important to my generation, played out party songs, Chief Keef, Odd Future, Camron vs. Big L, and 2Pac's importance amongst other topics, and I played some music Im into. We already have a second one recorded and I'm sure there will be more, so stay tuned
“The same fear and trepidation I saw in South Africa amongst the whites I see here.” | Timothy Wright '77 on Trump and contemporary America. Wright, a CMC alum and lawyer, sat down with Zach and Melissa to discuss his path to CMC, time in South Africa, and insights about success. Biography: Since his time at Claremont McKenna College, where he played varsity football for four years, and graduated in 1977 with a dual degree in Economics and Political Science, Timothy has been exceptional. At the UCLA School of Law, he became the first African American Chief Justice of the UCLA Moot Court Honors program and was chosen to deliver the commencement address at the 1983 UCLA Law School graduation. At some point in his long career, Timothy worked in every branch of the United States government and worked for Presidents H.W. Bush, Clinton, and W. Bush. In addition to his work domestically, he also served as a legal participant on the U.N. Council for Namibia and was an international election monitor for South Africa’s first free elections in 1994. Quotes Preview: “I remember working here during the summer. ... I was ticketed and taken to jail and jumped on by 9 police officers --white police officers -- in Pomona and beat up and charged with assault. Ultimately they dropped the charges, but you know what that has an invaluable impact on one’s psyche and who one is.” (8:19) "I got 7 siblings, I’m number 6, and I was the first to go to college.” (9:11) “What I saw [in South Africa] were people that were willing to make a change. They knew that apartheid was bad.” (14:37) “When they came to the table to talk, I saw the vestiges of apartheid that were like 800 pounds ... on the peoples’ back … and why they didn’t want to give up power, they were full of trepidation about what would occur … but they also knew that what they were doing was not good stuff.” (15:14)
