Here's what happened on this day in rock...
TRACKS (todos los temas con música y letra de Gino Vannelli) 1-Storm at Sunup 2-Love Me Now 3-Mama Coco 4-Father and Son 5-Where Am I Going 6-Keep on Walking 7-Love Is a Night 8-Gettin' High CREDITS Gino Vannelli Vocals, Arranger, Producer Joe Vannelli Electric Piano, Acoustic Piano, Synths, String & Horn Arrangements, Arranger, Producer Richard Baker Organ, Synth Bass, String & Horn Arrangements Graham Lear Drums John J. Pastor Tyler interviews Elio Vannelli and Matt Schvaneveldt about ministry in Italy during COVID-19.
Born in Montreal, Gino Vannelli grew up in a family headed by his cabaret-singing father and a ‘keen-eared’ mother. Instinctively drawn to jazz as a child, Vannelli studied drums and music theory for five years before adding guitar and piano lessons to his musical journey. The urge to compose words and music followed not long after and at fourteen, Gino began his official singing career. Before his seventeenth birthday, Vannelli had signed with RCA Records of Canada, beginning a long and inspired career as a recording artist. Whether performing piano-voice concerts in theaters, singing before symphony orchestras in concert halls, big bands or a pop ensemble to throngs of enthusiastic fans, Gino remains impassioned and true to his art as ever. In his own words… “The best works lie in the wake of reaching.”

Maria Vannelli is a self-taught baker, cook, writer and photographer sharing simple, family-friendly recipes at She Loves Biscotti food blog. Maria likes to say she does not have a professional background as baker, cook, writer or photographer. She’s just a gal, living in Montreal, married (same amazing guy for 33 years!), mother of two awesome kids (no longer kids but still awesome) and most recently a grandmother. When she’s not talking about food, she’s either making it, eating it, sharing it or thinking about it. By training, Maria is a professional dietitian. She also had the privilege of being born to Italian immigrants, so you knowfood is important to her! You might say that her obsession with food is what motivated her to obtain a degree from McGill University. She graduated all the way back in 1987 with a Science Degree and a specialization in Dietetics. But that's not all! As a registered dietitian, Maria wanted to specialize in geriatric nutrition and in 1992, she completed a Certificate in Gerontology from Université de Montréal. Throughout her career as a registered dietitian, Maria has worked in different geriatric institutions. She just recently retired as food service manager of an acute care hospital and four geriatric centers. Maria’s mom was her inspiration and the reason she cooks and bakes. Following the sudden loss of her mother, Maria created the blog to document her mom's recipes. Along the way, she began to share some of her own favorites. She Loves Biscottiis about sharing simple, well balanced, family-friendly recipes that range from the traditional Italian dishes of Maria’s youth to modern twists on the classics, all using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Maria's daughter, Sara, has helped with editing and proofreading posts since the blog's conception in 2014. Sara's ideas and insights about recipes, as well as her ongoing support and encouragement, have greatly contributed to the blog's success. Maria hopes the simplicity of her recipes and the use of quality ingredients will inspire you to bring your loved ones closer together at meal times and empower you to create memorable moments around great food.

DJ Rocca - Streetparadeless Biography DJ Rocca: Like the « Take5 Club » in Switzerland, the « No Joke Club » gets its brilliant reputation from its House Music programming. Guest DJs like Victor Simonelli (Resident), Spen, Matthias Heilbronn, Bob Sinclar, Joe T. Vannelli, Sandy Rivera, Ricky Morrison & many others played there. It is, in fact, at the « No Joke » where the « lovestory » between Rocca and House Music sees light. It is in this same club where Rocca gets the chance to stand behind the decks for the first time and he will never thank Ueli « Le Gros » H. enough for having given him this opportunity! His sense of music has evolved towards more specific and more qualitative sounds thanks to the influence of national and international DJs such as Jamie Lewis, Louie Vega, DJ Gregory, Yass, Pete Tong’s Essential Selection, Frank Roger, Luciano & his Cadenza Crew. These same sounds are the ones which give him the possibility to progress artisitcally and to present his music at the sides of people such as Copyright, Jamie Lewis, Eddie Thoneick, Simon Dunmore, Yass, Hector Romero, "Little" Louie Vega, David Morales & many others. Currently resident DJ at the Duo Club www.2uo.ch in Switzerland and this since 2006, Rocca is also a full-fledged member of the ShadesAtNight collective since 2009 www.djrocca.ch
