I just have something I want to update you on and announce what is happening in March that I don't want you to miss out on. If you've been listening to the podcast for a long time, you need to get one of these booked in. I have created something called The Well Woman Audit, which is a free holistic health assessment, where we sit for half an hour on Zoom and we go through the holistic process and method that I have to assess what is going on with your health. Why do you feel so awful, tired, bloated and comfortable, fed up? What do your symptoms mean? And what's going to help them to go away? So, if you know, you need some support, but everything just feels really overwhelming and you're really struggling, book in for your Well Woman Audit. I talk all the time on this podcast about getting some personalised support and this is a really great way of getting started, where you can just understand more of what's going on in your body and what you might need, what lab tests you might need, what you need to focus on and we're really going on. When you understand what is going on then you can actually do something about it. These are completely free and I've got eight spaces available in March. If you have been wondering why you feel so rubbish, this is for you. I would love to chat to you, space is limited. Go to keziahall.com/audit to book your free welcome and audit in.

As an Accredited Health Practitioner, part of my continuing professional development is keeping up with the latest literature and research and last weekend I attended the Well Woman conference, hosted by one of our industry suppliers. There were a lot of clinical gems on the latest support and treatment of: Iron deficiency Perimenopause + Menopause Adenomyosis + endometriosis Women's mental health including PMS, PMDD, anxiety and depression The effect of the Pill on mental health ADHD in women Burnout AND MORE! I'll be sharing some of these with you over the next few weeks. This week I'm jumping into something that plays a crucial role in various bodily functions, and its deficiency can lead to a range of symptoms and health issues. It's one of the most common nutrient deficiencies worldwide, affecting women more often due to pregnancy and menstrual blood loss and that is - iron deficiency. As with all things in health, there are many crossovers with various symptoms and conditions, but many hormonal symptoms we experience during peri and menopause can also be attributed to iron deficiency. By addressing any iron deficiencies as a first port of call, it's entirely likely we will also improve our hormonal symptoms too! Signs of an iron deficiency can include: Fatigue and exhaustion, shortness of breath, heart palpitations + chest pain, dizziness, hair loss, brain fog, mental health issues including anxiety and depression, head ache , muscle cramps and restless legs AND heavy periods! Causes of low iron can be: Poor dietary intake of iron - including vegetarian and vegan diets, restricted diet due to weight loss surgery. Poor nutrient absorption from coeliac disease, weight loss surgery, IBD and Crohn's Disease, various medications including The Pill. Excessive sweating from exercise Pregnancy - never recovering those base levels or iron stores, even after 5, 10, 20 years! Heavy periods every month (affects 20% of ALL women!) The problem is…like many women's health conditions our “normal” iron stores, or Ferritin levels are far from optimal - so if you aren't feeling that great, son't take "normal" as an answer! ** Ferritin is the best indicator of our iron status Optimal blood levels Ferritin 50-150 Ferritin >50 maintain this with adequate iron intake through diet Ferritin 30-50 the stores are running low - ensure adequate dietary intake and supplement with low dose iron to restore levels until over 50+ Ferritin 2 years to restore Ferritin b/w 50-150 Ferritin

Welcome to Week Six! In this episode, we finish strong with three tips for loving the skin you're in as well as finding and trusting your inner Well Woman instead of looking externally for answers. Past episodes of the Summer Reset are listed below: http://wellwomanlife.com/287show (wellwomanlife.com/287show) http://wellwomanlife.com/288show (wellwomanlife.com/288show) http://wellwomanlife.com/289show (wellwomanlife.com/289show) http://wellwomanlife.com/290show (wellwomanlife.com/290show) http://wellwomanlife.com/291show (wellwomanlife.com/291show) This week, we finish strong with three tips for loving the skin you're in as well as finding and trusting your inner Well Woman instead of looking externally for answers. First, hydrate - we started with warm water in the morning and now we're hydrating throughout the day. Second, apply sunscreen to protect your skin from harm. Third, try a self massage after the shower - apply lotion or oils to your legs and arms and see how your body responds. Finally, go back to the last episode (291) and do the visualization again, this time asking your most powerful self, your inner Well Woman, what she wants to say to you and what she needs. Have a journal handy to capture any insights, words or images as they come up. Every week on the podcast during this six-week reset, I've shared a tool, routine, or practice that supports you to create the results you want for your body, mind, and spirit. In this episode, I share Week Five of the Summer Reset, how to Power Up your body and mind for the most energy, focus, and fulfillment. The notes for today's show can be found at wellwomenlife.com/291show Past episodes of the Summer Reset are listed below: http://wellwomanlife.com/287show (wellwomanlife.com/287show) http://wellwomanlife.com/288show (wellwomanlife.com/288show) http://wellwomanlife.com/289show (wellwomanlife.com/289show) http://wellwomanlife.com/290show (wellwomanlife.com/290show) This week, we dive into how to power up your body and mind for the most energetic and fulfilling summer day! As you know, we start with warm water. If this is getting boring, you can do one of my favorites and add turmeric, cinnamon and lemon. Yum. Next, tune in to your most powerful self with a short visualization, mediation or journaling. Bring to mind a time when you felt most in your power, when you were confident about your moves. A time when what you said and did was in alignment with who you know you are. There was no struggle, just a deep knowing that you have what it takes. You have the answers and you feel at ease. Where are you? What do you see? What colors and textures are around you? Breathe into this image of you in your power. And breathe it out through your whole body. How can you apply this powerful version of you to your day today? What would your most powerful self spend her time doing today? Accomplish today? Celebrate today? Take some notes. This is gold. If you had a hard time visualizing anything, don't worry. Take a drink of water, move around and try it again. We finish our power up routine with a few jumping jacks, a brisk walk or other movement to really get your blood circulating. Remember, every week on the podcast during this six-week reset, I'll be sharing a tool, routine, or practice that will support you to create the results you want for your body, mind, and spirit. Donna Rhodes: How the Woman at the Well Became the Well Woman. This is episode 486 of Teaching Learning Leading K12, an audio podcast. By the age of 28, Donna Rhodes was divorced three times and raising four kids in poverty. A high school dropout with a dark past and a cloudy future, she found her way through a life of suffering and challenges. This memoir is the story of an extraordinary woman, one who battled so many setbacks, from growing up in an abusive foster care household to surviving cancer, and from suffering a series of abusive relationships to being under the control of a cult. On Week 3 of The Well Woman Summer Reset, we explore deep rest for your brain with an exploration of the nervous system and the breath. The past two years have been a challenge for all humans, and you've likely been carrying around a constant sense of anxiety that may be very noticeable or very sneaky. The sneaky type of anxiety can be the hardest to address and it takes tuning in to your body to begin to rest your nervous system. This reset will help. If the body is in fight or flight, then chances are that you may need a system reset. Here are some simple breathing techniques to help you relax, maintain optimal health, and sustain longevity. Meditation #1 Sitting - eyes open: Visual, Touch, Breath Shift attention to looking at one thing in front of you, exquisitely aware of colors and shades with great clarity, see textures and shapes in great detail. Now shift to a soft, diffused visual focus on whatever you're looking at to tune it out. Focus your sharp primary attention on sense of touch. Touch something with your fingertips. Move your fingertips so you can really feel all the nuanced sensations on your fingertips. With your visual focus remaining soft and diffuse, notice your breath now. Notice the rising and falling of your stomach with each breath. Meditation #2 Sitting - eyes closed: Three Breaths Notice your breath. What is the temperature going in, and exiting your nostrils? Focus your attention on gratitude for your breath. Feel how grateful you are for the breath that has been with you all your life. Take a deeper breath, from the belly, let the air fill your body. Hold for two counts and exhale with mouth open Sign up now: http://wellwomanlife.com/summer (wellwomanlife.com/summer) You can find notes from today's show at https://wellwomanlife.com/captivate-podcast/287show/wellwomanlife.com/287show. “We want to cultivate a community. We want to bring community back…[God] didn't create us to be alone.” It's a celebration of women's health and wellness as Tracy and Rachel welcome midwives and real-life sisters Sarah Roe and Erin Vande Lune to the podcast to share the story of how the (literal!) dream of launching Flourish Wellness and Birth Co. became a reality. Passion and empathy for their patients is evident as Sarah and Erin describe their shared vision of creating a safe space and community where women can feel empowered, seen, and known as they seek comprehensive, proactive healthcare and education for life stages from adolescence to post-menopause, including pregnancy care and the option for a birth center outside of a hospital setting. They discuss achieving balance in both their personal and professional relationships, as well as their journey of arriving on the same page through prayer, counsel…and falling down a flight of stairs. Sarah and Tracy bond over being Enneagram 9s with 8 wings and how these gentle peacemakers can also be powerful dreamers and doers, while Rachel responds to the nurturing atmosphere in the room by feeling compelled to spill emotionally intimate life details and is relieved to finally get to make a Call the Midwife reference. Tracy and Rachel are also delighted to acknowledge and celebrate season-long Isn't it Lovely? themes of community and the importance of working toward an emotionally healthy identity. — I woke up hot and sweaty in the middle of a sweltering August night. I could not get back to sleep, so I decided to go downstairs to get a drink of water. Halfway down, I heard voices and whispers: first, my mother's; then, a strange man's. Startled, I stopped, sat down in the dark on the worn attic steps, and listened. I couldn't make out everything they said because my mother was crying. I had never heard her cry. I leaned forward, hoping to hear more. “They're coming to take the kids away tomorrow,” she said. I shivered in spite of the heat. Questions tumbled through my seven-year-old mind. Who was coming? Was I one of the kids? Why were they taking us? Where were they taking us? The hushed voices continued, but fear forced me back to bed. All thoughts of my original purpose for getting out of bed had vanished and been replaced with terror. I tossed and turned for hours before I fell asleep again. I woke up early, my room still dark. I wanted to tell my four sisters and five brothers, who shared the attic with me, what I had heard the previous night. But if I repeated it, it would be true, not some awful nightmare. So, I kept silent. On that fateful day in 1955, my world changed forever….
