In His wisdom, He placed us in a variety of circumstances that require us to find our way back to His pure love. So, what qualifies me to speak about love? My childhood experience of the opposite of love. From that austere beginning, and the distaste it formed inside me, I searched for and eventually created a method that transformed my life from anger to loving everyone. Growing up in a family of abuse, physical touch became my preferred love style, only because of the regularity. I could almost count on it. It was consistent. I came to think that was the way to express love. But deep inside, I knew that was a twisted belief. I wanted a better life for myself, which is why I created a paradigm shift that works. In this book, you'll find what helped me move from a childhood boot camp of abuse to being a person who loves everyone and can find good about anyone in any circumstance. This is truly the role of love. I hope you join me.Show Notes 0:00 - Welcoming Paul Zolman to What I Meant to Say0:19 - Becoming a Love Language Linguist from An Angry Household9:35 - How to Play Paul's Love Language Game16:26 - What Have You Learned from First to Second Marriage?19:59 - Practical Ways You Relate to Your Kids & Grandkids23:44 - Are There Ways to Protect Yourself from Being Taken Advantage Of?27:46 - Best Ways to Have a Generational Healing Conversation with Kids33:48 - The Purpose of the Love Language Game40:06 - Advice for Men to Be Love in the World42:43 - One Piece of Advice to Your Younger Self46:27 - Where Can People Find You?47:14 - Thank You & ClosingLinks & Where to Find Paul www.roleoflove.comYoutubeFB - https://www.facebook.com/roleoflovediceIG - https://www.instagram.com/roleoflovedice/Linkedin - https://www.linkedin.com/company/roleoflovedice/Tiktok - https://www.tiktok.com/@roleoflovediceTwitter/X - https://twitter.com/roleoflovedicePinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/roleoflovedice/The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts

SHOW NOTES: In Podcast Episode 221, “What Have You Learned from a ‘Wise Woman'?” Kim discusses how the “wise woman” in Abel-beth-maacah intervened and saved many lives. In this confusing narrative, we see no one reaching out to the Lord for wisdom regarding the matters at hand. Yet, the Lord provided His wisdom to the “wise woman.” Our focal passage for this episode is 2 Samuel 20 with the focal verse of 16. 16 But a wise woman in the town called out to Joab, “Listen to me, Joab. Come over here so I can talk to you.” WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT FEATURE: Share with someone this week at least one piece of advice you have received from a "wise woman." ⭐️What is something you could do right now to help your future self? ⭐️What is the most dangerous thing you have survived? ⭐️Who is a person you're glad exists? These are the kinds of questions writer Amanda Deibert asks her Twitter followers everyday, and which she has now gathered into a beautiful gratitude journal called You Already Have the Answers. Throughout this episode we are going to cover 5 steps to review your year and how to take action to win in 2022! Be sure to bring your journal for this one, because if you want to make 2022 your year, this journey today is important!! Step 1: What Are You Most Proud Of? List all of the things you're most proud of: Obstacles Successes Overcame: physical/mental/habits/space; look through your photos in the last year to help trigger your memory. Major changes: Finance Career Life Call to Action: What experience was most important to you and why? What steps did you take to help you move the needle Be sure to circle that really resonated with you. You'll use it later to make a fresh list for 2022. Step 2: What Have You Learned? Ask Yourself & Write it Down: What went well in 2021? What were the most game changing things? What did you learn from it? What were some mistakes that you made? What did you learn from it? Call to Action: Write what were the most important lessons and why? These are crucial and often overlooked. Step 3: What are you willing to let go of? Old projects and goals you set out to do This is all about revisiting old projects, ideas, tasks that you haven't really had an opportunity to wrap your head around. Resentment, anger, and upsets Letting go of emotional baggage Anger Forgiving yourself or someone Limiting Beliefs or a story you've been telling yourself Too old or too young to do this or that You can't do it because it's already been done Never having enough time or the know how You're not good enough or capable Not telling yourself that you're so much more powerful than you give yourself credit for Call to Action: Things to write down and do What's most important to let go of and why? What has this thing cost you? What has it prevented you from doing? What do you want to let go of and move on from? Remember: Reasons come before results | Purpose fuels Persistence Step 4: Mapping What's Next in Your Future Just like step one you took a lot at the things you're most proud of. In this step, you're going to revisit some of those ideas and identify how they fit into your future. Remember to write down why they are important and why!! Examples to think of: Health/Well-being Finance Future Relationships Giving- what you have to offer How do you want to feel about the future: What's motivating you What do you seek freedom from? Are you willing to be flexible? Be consistent and specific as possible. Let yourself dream and don't underestimate what you can dream. Call to Action: Make a list Write down your top 3 goals for the next year Who do you need to become to accomplish these goals? Who character do you need to change into or play to achieve these things? Is there an alter ego involved? Step 4: What do you want your future self to know? Write a letter to the version of you in 2022! Be imaginative and creative! Some writing promotes are: I would love you to know that…. I would love you to start…. I would love you to remember…. I would love you to focus on… Access the deep parts of yourself where the truth and wisdom lives. COACHING PACKAGES & HOLIDAY PROMOS…..EXTENDED TIL JANUARY 31, 2022 The Launch Your Career Bundle. Navigating a crisis will teach you tons about people you lead. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED SO FAR IN THIS CRASH COURSE ON CRISIS NAVIGATION? Here are a few things I have learned just by observing people through conversations, social media and other interactions: Personal preconceived biases are real and drive behavior subconsciously. Political affiliations and loyalties drive more decisions than most admit. Whoever signs your check buys your loyalty. Covronavirus does not check your race card, gender identity, sexual preference, age, political party affiliation, bank balance or genealogy at the door - if effects who ever it pleases. Some people turn to deepen their faith in times of crisis. Some lose their faith. Some relocate their faith. Some seek out new ideas, new ways to generate income - a new side hustle. Some demand the government meet their bills for them. Some people are inclined to change their opinions in a crisis. Some people change their loyalties in a crisis. Some people reveal their hidden loyalties in a crisis. Some people hide to wait out the crisis hoping normal returns. Some people “take advantage” of the crisis as an opportunity to gain ground they have not been able to gain previously. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED??? Chad’s Journey to Sobriety Although Chad grew up in a Mormon household, he had five generations of alcoholism passed down to him. Chad’s first “infatuating buzz” was at age 18 and he spent the next ten years chasing that exact feeling, resulting in a cycle of binge drinking and heavy daily alcohol consumption. In 2013, Chad injured his back, which left him with a herniated disk and paralyzed in bed. The doctors told Chad he must attend physical therapy sessions and have steroid shots before surgery could take place to repair the disk. After five months of limited activity, on OxyContin, although not drinking; Chad found he was severely depressed. He was finally able to have a successful surgery on his back, but by then he was addicted to opioids. It was during this time that Chad turned back to alcohol to ease the discomfort of opioid withdrawals and the associated insomnia. During one irrational drunken night, Chad found himself locked out of his house. He drove out to the desert where he laid with a bottle of vodka and a bottle of Nyquil. Chad describes this night as one of the darkest times of his life. Something or someone pushed him forward through it and he somehow managed to text his brother for help. Chad returned home, sobered up and got honest with his wife and doctors about what had been going on. It was a false start though because after a few weeks of not drinking, Chad thought things had returned to normal and that it was okay to start drinking again. For the next two years, he drank a fifth of vodka a day. Chad knew his drinking was a problem when it wasn’t fun or relaxing anymore but a necessity. He says, “I just didn’t feel like a normal, functioning person unless I had alcohol in my system.” Chad worked hard at protecting his addiction. Chad says his family and friends knew he was a big drinker, but did not know to what extent. At his sister’s wedding, Chad thought he played the part of the “functional alcoholic” well, but to his surprise, he learned he had not. Chad’s wife and brothers were worried he was going to die, so they intervened with an invitation for him to attend The Riversource Recovery in Arizona. After much arguing, Chad complied. While in rehab, Chad learned about his illness and he connected with some of the most genuine people he had met in his life. His counselor at The Riversource Recovery Center is now his Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor and a dear friend. Chad continues to work day by day to be sober. What Have You Learned from Transitioning Back into Day to Day Life? Learn to mourn the loss of the life you lived. It’s nonsense to mark when you’re going to change, tomorrow, next week or at the beginning of the year. That’s our primal brain’s safe way of saying, “Oh good, I don’t have to change yet.” As it states in Newton’s First Law of Motion (the law of inertia): “An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.” Chad relates this to people struggling with addiction since very often someone will remain in the same motion until something tragic happens that stuns them enough to move forward. In recovery Chad says he’s learned, “The beautiful thing about being a human is we don’t have to hit that brick wall to be moved. We can be moved by being inspired to change and to change our path.” That “bottom” is wherever you decide to stop digging and if you decide that bottom is today you can start to make changes. Release the shame and guilt of your disease. It’s important to understand you are still that amazing person but was struggling with an illness bigger than you could have handled alone. Christa says, “You must love yourself as you are today and know that just because you want something else in your life or for your body, you are not broken.” In September 2016 at one year sober, Chad’s brother introduced him to the ketogenic diet. Chad embraced it, immediately felt better and has dropped 65 pounds while inspiring thousands with his openness and vulnerability in the Keto Connection Facebook Group where he met Christa! Continuously focusing on a lifestyle of recovery from food and alcohol addictions, Chad knew the last piece of the puzzle was to give up cigarettes. During a family trip he discovered he was upset and raging over things he didn’t need to be upset about. He took a step back and realized that his subconscious mind was throwing a fit because it wanted a cigarette. Chad thought, “Why would I give my brain a cigarette because it’s throwing a fit? I don’t give my toddler everything he wants.” This is when Chad quit smoking! He explains, “You have to exercise your willpower like you exercise your bicep. It doesn’t get better or bigger unless you put it under pressure.” Now realizing the freedom he’s gained from getting healthy, Chad says he never realized how gross he felt for so many years but is grateful for even the dark years because coming out of it he was able to make little changes that were sustainable. We’re all struggling with something whether it be food, alcohol or drug dependencies but with the Fitlandia community you are safe, welcomed, cherished and honored. Please leave us a review on this podcast with some gratitude and let’s all continue to celebrate new beginnings, vulnerability and sobriety! Need some support and guidance to take a break from alcohol? Sign up for our 30 Days to Thriving program and get early bird pricing for the January program when you sign up before November 30th. Don't Be Afraid To Share That Idea When they were first starting out, he didn't want anyone else to know. To Joe that's silly. IF you have that idea, there is a 99% chance that someone else is either acting on it or has the same idea. If you're not sharing, you're not going to get that feedback. Make Sure You Take Action Don't fall victim of analysis paralysis. Don't sit there and over think things. It's never going to be perfect. A conversation is an informal talk with someone about opinions, ideas, feelings or everyday matters. A good conversation is an interaction between two or more people, where questions are either explicitly asked or implied. For many of you, over the past four years you have been having a conversation with a middle aged, middle of the pack, slightly asthmatic fellow runner, but I assure you that that conversation was not one way. And while I admit I’m not able to answer my emails as much as I’d like (not due to the increased listenership to this podcast I assure you; rather it’s a function of my work life getting in the way as it does) this episode, and those which I’ll produce a few times each year is my attempt to respond to things that are on your mind: to give you my impression, opinion, or researched response: because while I have been on the road for 10 years; in my mind: I’m still very much a newbie to this sport. And as for being your running partner over these past four years: I feel it’s only polite to answer any personal questions you might have for me…I mean, why not…we’ve been through some amazing times together fellow runners…good and bad, hot and cold, triumphant and in defeat.Show Links:Fdip Blog of the Week: The song “What Have You Learned” was by Carbon Leaf
