Wearing gemstones associated with each of the days of the week will allow you to invoke the energy of their corresponding planets and deities. The days of the week were originally named for the sun, the moon, and the five ancient known planets. These planets were associated with particular gods depending upon the culture. For example, the Greeks, the Romans, and Germanic peoples each had their own gods associated with the different days of the week. To invoke the energy of the planets or deities listed below, wear or carry one of the listed stones on the corresponding day of the week.  Wearing crystal jewelry (or keeping a stone in your pocket) in this way is considered a talisman of good luck and protection. These stones can also help you ease into your day and work through whatever the day may bring.  To further connect with the energy of the crystal, try meditating with your chosen stone, creating a crystal grid, or placing the stone in a prominent position on your altar or in your sacred space. Known for: It’s the stone for monetary abundance and personal power. the third chakra, which is our solar plexus. Combats negative energy promotes generosity, so the prosperity and success can be shared. Green jade, green aventurine, and green moss agate Attributes: Varying shades of green, ranging from translucent to opaque. Known for: They’re known as money stones in different cultures. Tiger Eye can help you with getting more self-confidence, courage and strength of will. Focus and confidence, important stages in the Law of Attraction, are greatly facilitated with this crystal. Rose quartz Attributes: A light pink, semi-translucent form of quartz. Known for: It’s often used for compassion and for love. Rose quartz is the stone of the heart. It's nurturing, compassionate, and loving energy makes it the perfect crystal for promoting bonding with friends and family, calling in a romantic relationship, or cultivating more self-love. Bringing in abundance is, to me, about learning self-love, self-empowerment and self-trust. It’s about being able to take down those walls so that you can have everything good come in, too. Selenite Attributes: A whitish translucent crystal often found in stick sheets. Known for: Being the energy clearing crystal; often used as “wands” to wave and clear energy. it’s going to keep things moving, Emerald and ruby tumbled stones Attributes: Emeralds have a distinct, green shade; ruby tumbled stones have a more opaque color than their crystal versions. Known for: Emeralds are known for promoting unconditional love; Rubies are known for encouraging vitality. 2. Crystals for Sprit Guide attraction Vivien Can crystals be used to attract spirit guides? Can be used with meditation and dream work to assist in receiving messages and guidance How to do this What to use Benefit in stillness Crystals amplify intentions and thoughts Promote conscious awareness More receptive to messages Selenite is strongly linked with the Moon Goddess, Selene, and has a natural connection to night and the dream state. Because it is so strongly tied to moon energy, it promotes intuition and psychic insight. Amethyst crystal in your receiving hand and write down the dream experience as precisely as can be. You may wish to draw sketches as some things from dreams can be difficult to convey with words alone. Jade: One of the best crystals for spirit contacting the spirit realm is Jade…deep green, beautiful Jade. Jade has ancient connections as an ancestor stone all throughout Asia, especially in China. Many people believe Jade helps heal “karma” in your ancestral line. Your connection to your ancestors is very important, and going back and healing things that are passed down in your family lineage is a powerful practice and Jade can help with this. Use Jade to contact your ancestor spirits. Angelite: Another crystal that I’d highly recommend for contacting the spirit realm is Angelite. This crystal can help you connect with your spirit guides and angels. It brings the protective energy of your guides into your space. This crystal can help you find a great deal of comfort, keeping you feeling safe and supported. It is excellent for stimulating your intuition and allowing messages from your guides to come through loud and clear. Turquoise: One of the most powerful stones for ancestor connection (along with Jade) is Turquoise. Turquoise is traditionally known as a wisdom stone. Some Native American legends say that it is connected with father sky, who was thought to be very very wise. Turquoise has also been known for promoting communication with your ancestors. So, in order to impart clear, simple communication regarding the wisdom of your ancestors, you can work with a Turquoise stone. When you hold a piece of turquoise, remember that the ancestors are here and they’re watching over you; they’ll keep you protected and step in when they’re needed most. But it’s also partly up to you to keep the channel for communication open and ask for help when you need it. Green Aventurine: Green Aventurine promotes harmony in your environment, especially in your sacred space. When working with spirit beings, it’s helpful to be sure that your space is tranquil and free from psychic debris. Green Aventurine works to keep things peaceful and harmonious so that communication continues in a positive, progressive manner. Amazonite: Amazonite is a wonderful stone to promote positive communication with nature spirits like fairies and elementals because it allows you to speak from the heart. When you’re trying to connect with these sensitive beings, it’s important to remain heart-centered. Approaching fairies and elementals can be delicate, but when you’re coming from a heart-centered place, these beings are much more likely to make contact with you. Amazonite helps shift your vibrational frequency to be more aligned with the high energy fairies and elementals. Malachite: Malachite invites protective guardian spirits into your space to watch over you and all members of your family, even your pets. This crystal should be placed near the door so that anyone who’s entering your home, will be protected while they’re within that energy. It also helps you communicate with spirits that seem to be stuck in a space, keeping you protected before and after contact. 3. In last week’s post, I shared a simple method for working with your crystals to uncover the deeper energies and meanings of the 22 Major Arcana cards in the Tarot. This week, we’ll be diving into the remaining 56 cards in the Tarot deck, known as the Minor Arcana. These Minor cards add perspective to what is happening in your everyday life.   The cards in the Minor Arcana are divided into four suits. Each suit represents a different aspect of your life and corresponds to one of the four elements: Water Element: Cups (also known as Chalices) Fire Element: Wands (also known as Rods, Staffs, or Staves) Air Element: Swords (also known as Daggers) Earth Element: Pentacles (also known as Coins or Discs) Each suit is then made up of numbered cards (Ace through Ten) and Court cards (Page, Knight, Queen, and King). Each number has its own meaning within the suits, giving you a deeper understanding of what the cards are telling you. In general, the Even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10) reveal that there is balance and harmony in your life whereas odd numbers (1/Ace, 3, 5, 7, and 9) represent obstacles or challenges you may face (think of these as opportunities for growth). To dive deep into the Tarot Minor Arcana, you can work with your crystals to help you uncover even more about the meaning of each card. To do this, you’ll need a deck of tarot cards and a crystal to represent each element (that’s four crystals in total). I’ve listed some of my favorite elemental crystals here below. Bringing the Elements Into Your Sacred Space: Earth: fresh flowers, a dish of sand or soil, crystals or fossils, wood carvings, fruit, seeds, an image or statue of a land animal. Air: feathers, incense, lace, athame (or small dagger), windchimes, bell, a hand fan, a flute, an image or statue of a bird. Fire: candles, a lantern, a cauldron, an image or statue of a dragon, salamander, or phoenix Water: a small dish of water, a fountain, seashells (especially an Abalone shell), a chalice or goblet, a mirror, an image or statue of a mermaid or dolphin.   Hold the stone in cupped hands above the Tarot card. Ask that the stone help provide you with more clarity about the meaning of this card. Close your eyes and breathe deeply while holding the stone in your hands. To truly embody the vibration of the card, take the number of breaths equal to the number of your card. For example, three deep breaths for the 3 of Wands, or six deep breaths for the 6 of Swords. Breathe in the elemental energy of the crystal in your hands as you do this. If you chose to work with a Court card, use your intuition to guide you on the correct number of breaths. After your final exhalation, open your eyes and immediately look at the card. Do this while still holding your stone.

The following crystal grid for emotional healing recipe is from my book Crystals for Energy Healing. When I was writing this book, it was SO important to me to include practical, everyday activities for working with crystals.   I thought about some of the most common questions I get from students in my Crystal Healing Certification Program. So often, my students ask about working with crystals for physical ailments. However, frequently physical issues actually have energetic and emotional roots. These also need to be addressed. Working on just the physical symptoms may make you feel better for a time, but that alone won't get to the core of the issue, clearing it out once and for all. In my Crystal Healing Certification Program classes, we take a body, mind, spirit approach to healing with crystal energy. In fact, I have an entire lesson dedicated to emotional healing. I think it's so important (and is so often overlooked). This crystal grid recipe can be used to create emotional balance and stability as well as repair emotional wounds.  These stones all resonate with the energy of the Higher Heart Chakra. This is a minor chakra associated with emotional healing, compassion, and forgiveness. If you're new to crystal grids, or if you've made a few but you still feel a little intimidated by the process, you may want to go back and check out my post, How to Create & Use a Crystal Grid Step-by-Step before continuing on with this article (although I promise I keep things super simple and easy to follow here as well). Supplies Needed: 1 Rose Quartz stone 6 Amazonite stones 6 Pink Opal stones 1 seed of life grid base (you can draw this yourself, print it out, or purchase a pre-made grid template) Begin by gathering your supplies and making sure that all of your crystals have been cleansed.  Create an intention statement for your grid such as, “My emotional body is healthy, balanced, and whole.”  Your intention may be general if you’d just like to focus on overall emotional health, but you may also get as specific as you like to your emotional situation when crafting your intention statement.   /* Set the Rose Quartz crystal, representing emotional balance, in the center of the Seed of Life shape.  Be sure to state your intention, aloud or to yourself, when placing all of your stones. Next, put the six Amazonite crystals, representing compassion and empathy, on the Seed of Life shape. Place them around your center stone.  These should be placed in the center of each of the outer circles. Then, place the six Pink Opal crystals, representing emotional healing and forgiveness, at the point where two of the outer circles cross, on the outside edge of the shape. To activate and enhance the energy of the grid, you may use a clear Quartz crystal point. This will link the energy of all the crystals within the grid. Activation is most effective if you visualize each of these connections as lines of white light, linking the energy of each individual stone into one cohesive unit.  If your grid is disturbed or if the crystals are moved out of alignment, the grid will need to be re-activated. Point your wand over the center stone. Set your intention to link the energy of all seven stones within the grid so that they work cohesively toward your intention. Moving from the center, “draw” a line to a stone on the outside of the grid. Moving clockwise, “draw” a line to the next stone on the outside of the grid and then back to the central stone. Move back up this same line to the stone you just came from, then clockwise to the next outside stone, and then back again to the center. Continue in this fashion until you have connected all stones and arrive back in the center of the grid. Finally, point the point of your Quartz crystal toward the center of the grid. This will infuse it with universal energy so that it may carry out its purpose.

Today, I am so excited to be interviewing the amazing Sarah Balmer of Sarah Belle. We're talking all about her journey with crystals, how they've helped her enhance her yoga practice, and how they could do the same for you. Sarah, thank you so much for being here with me today.   Ashley: I am super pumped because we just finished recording your video interview for the Crystal Mastery Conference, where you're teaching all about crystals and Yoga. Can you tell everyone a little bit about your journey with Yoga and crystals? How did you get started on this path? Sarah: Sure. I started Yoga a long time ago back when I was in college. However, I then disconnected from it for a while, but came back to it later in life. I came back to it when I was in a place where I was super busy and fast-paced as a way to balance. I was in need of more tools for stress management and good self-care. That's what I really think started opening me up to holistic health, holistic healing and all of these different modalities and tools. I got my Yoga teacher training certification in addition to already being a holistic coach, a personal trainer, and then now of course with the crystal healing. Now I just kind of have this tool bag of all these ways of helping folks. I would say that Yoga has really become much more enriched with the addition of crystals. Ashley: I think this is a story a lot of us can relate to. We're seeking more balance, we're looking for ways to take more time for self-care or to get grounded, to just be well in general. I think for many of us that's what has led us to crystals, or Reiki, or yoga, or however that unfolds on your own path. Let me ask you this, I am just curious... we talked a little bit about ways to incorporate crystals into your yoga practice, and some of your favorite ways and methods for doing this. We also talked about some of your favorite crystals to use in your practice. I'm just wondering, could you share a few of your favorite crystals to use in your yoga practice with everyone who's listening? Sarah: Absolutely. I think it partially depends on why you're coming to your yoga mat. What are you doing your yoga practice for? There are definitely a couple of key crystals that I think are wonderful for Yoga. For any practitioner, any student, any level, any reason that you're coming to Yoga. The first of these is Shiva Lingam, which comes from the rivers of India. This is a wonderful stone. It's very steepen in Indian tradition and is associated with the Lord Shiva, who represents totality and union. The stone itself is really a wonderful balance of masculine and feminine energies. So many people come to Yoga to find balance in their energetic anatomy. The stone is wonderful for supporting that. It carries with it all that wonderful energy from India, which is the home and the heart of Yoga. Watch the video interview with Sarah here: The other stone that I really love is Orgonite, because it's wonderfully energizing and sends energy in all directions. This is really good for aligning the chakras and infusing light into the body. Again, it's wonderful for balancing and kind of discovering the whole aspects of being. There are also a few others that I love. I think Smoky Quartz and Black Tourmaline are wonderful for placing at your mat for discharging negative energy, and just kind of releasing and letting go, and grounding down. So many people come to Yoga for grounding and relaxation. I think that a big reason that people come is to help clear their minds and to walk away from their mat feeling lighter and more relaxed. For me, Amazonite is a stone that I'm super attracted to for this. Ocean Jasper is also a wonderful relaxation stone for me. It really helps me to connect with all things and all beings. It reminds me that I'm part of this greater collective. Lastly, your obvious stones like Amethyst and Rose Quartz always have a wonderful place in pure practice.
