Kādas lelles tik nav veidotas! – cilvēki, dzīvnieki, kukaiņi, pasaku tēli, fantastiski kosmosa radījumi, spoki…. Ļoti mazas – viena centimetra līdz pāri par metru augumā. Izrādās, lelles spēj dzīvot, priecāties, skumt, spēj darīt visu, uz ko ir spējīga scenāristu un režisoru fantāzija, arī skatītāju iztēle. Lelles dažreiz izrāda savu raksturu un sāk dzīvot neatkarīgu dzīvi, mainot iepriekš paredzētos spēles noteikumus. Bieži tiek uzdots jautājums: kur un kā rodas šie notikumi? Asprātīgie, absurdie atgadījumi. Atbilde ir vienkārša – jāatver acis un jāpaskatās sev apkārt! Gandrīz  katras filmas pamatā ir reāla dzīves situācija. Filmu nofilmējām trieciena tempā, 15 dienu laikā. Pirmizrāde bija Islandes filmu festivālā. Filmu uzņēma piesardzīgi, līdz brīdim, kad avīzēs parādījās foto ar īsto gulošo pieminekli Rīgā. Vēl notikumi filmā “Rekets”, – šī parādība bija stipri izplatīta deviņdesmitajos gados. Filma “Rietumu ekspresis”, Māra Putniņa scenāriji bija apveltīti ar nevienam nezināmu, neizskaidrojamu, notikumu paredzēšanu. Daudzi no filmās attēlotajiem notikumiem piepildījās – īsta mistika! Beidza eksistēt Rīgas kinostudija. Pazuda “Banka Baltija”. Strīdi un nebūšanas filmā “Parlaments”… Vienīgā filma par ļoti skarbu tēmu bija filma “Ceļš”, kurā attēlota iznīcība, atomkara sekas, un tomēr vēl paliek cerība par dabas un cilvēka nekontrolētās rīcības atveseļošanos. Leļļu studija no sākta gala centās pārsteigt skatītāju, likt noticēt, ka notiekošais uz ekrāna ir īstenība. Personīgi man patika laiks, kad filmējām uz 35 mm filmas. Katra epizode bija nopietni jāpārdomā, tehniski jāsagatavo, jo pat neliela kļūda varēja iznīcināt ilūziju. Tā spoku filmā “Viesnīca”, spokiem bija jābūt caurspīdīgiem, gaisīgiem, viņiem vajadzēja iet cauri sienām, parādīties un izgaist. Tagad, datora laikmetā, tas viss ir diezgan ātri un samērā viekārši paveicams, toreiz tas prasīja krietni ilgāku laiku. Tā filmas “Viesnīca” finālā ir krāsains salūts, ko filmējām vairākas reizes. Tāpat filmā “Rietumu ekspresis” auto dzenas pakaļ bez vadības palikušajam vilcienam – vienlaicīgi kustējās vilciens, blakus – ceļš ar auto un arī stāsta varoņi. Mūsu leļļu kino filmās piedalās ne tikai lelles, bet arī dzīvi aktieri. Burova “Tīģeris ņau-ņau” rudā kaķa lomā darbojās septiņi rudi astaini aktieri. Filmā “Ragainais māls” galvenajā vecā velna lomā iedzīvojās aktieris Ēvalds Valters. Un kur nu vēl aktieru balsis: Vera Singajevska “Si-si-dra”, Velta Skurstene “Poēm pa kūlšen”, Uldis Dumpis filmā “Vanadziņš”, Jānis Paukštello filmā “Mana paradīze”. Filmu “Lielais Indriķis” ieskaņoja daudzi populāri Rīgas teātru aktieri un aktieru kursa studenti, jo lomu skaits pārsniedza trīsdesmit. Mūsu studijas darba mērķis ir viens – nest skatītājiem prieku, neskatoties, cik jauns vai vecs viņš arī nebūtu. Kaut uz mirkli aizmirsties un noticēt ekrānā redzamajam brīnumam. Paskatīties uz dzīvi un sevi ar smaidu, bet varbūt uz brīdi atgriezties bērnībā.

Mr. Ian Watson currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense (DASD/CBD) at the U.S. Department of Defense ( https://www.acq.osd.mil/ncbdp/leadership/bio-Watson.html ). In this capacity he is the principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (ASD) for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense Programs (NCB) and conducts Department level research, development, and acquisition (RDA) activities from concept and requirements development, through early science and technology, to advanced development, testing and evaluation, and procurement. These efforts focus on reducing risk from emerging threats and fielding sustainable capabilities to all Services in accordance with Department, Service and Combatant Command priorities for chemical, biological, and ensure our warfighters can fight and win in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) contested environments. Previously, Mr. Ian Watson served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary, and Director of the Office of Strategy, Policy, Planning, and Requirements (SPPR), and for Industrial Base Expansion in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In this position, Mr. Watson was responsible for leading the policy planning life-cycle, to ensure that ASPR's preparedness and emergency response capabilities align with the ASPR's mission, as well as broader policy and planning considerations to support the ASPR in protecting Americans from 21st Century health security threats. Mr. Watson was also responsible for the Department's Industrial Base Expansion, supply chain management, industrial policy, and Defense Production Act (DPA) program for the pandemic response. Mr. Watson previously served as the Assistant Director for Biotechnology and Biosecurity within the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) in the Executive Office of the President (EOP) whose mission is to ensure America is the world leader in science and technology. The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) at the Department of Health and Human Services  leads the nation's medical and public health preparedness for all disasters and public health emergencies. After spending more than a decade at the Government Accountability Office, Brian Mazanec is taking on a new challenge as the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Director, Office of Security, Intelligence, and Information Management at ASPR. In the newly-appointed position, Brian will use his expertise in cybersecurity and conflict to ensure the healthcare ecosystem has critical infrastructure protection to combat cyber threats.

In the winter of 1922, a bizarre series of events fell across an isolated Nova Scotian farmhouse, leaving the locals grappling with a set of mysteries that were as terrifying as they were exciting. Unseen forces braided horses' tails and moved livestock, while bluish lights danced eerily around the property and soon, the situation escalated to a series of unexplained fires igniting within the farmhouse, forcing the occupants to flee their home amidst the harsh Canadian winter. As the press descended onto the farm, a series of investigations sought to dig deeper into the events, hoping to find answers for the phenomena and exonerate the occupants in the eyes of the locals, though their successes were mixed in their results and the answers given would prove to be inconclusive for many, leaving Canadian folklore with a new mystery. Today I discuss the dangerous world of COVID conspiracies with my guest Anna Muldoon of the School for the Future of Innovation and Society at ASU. Anna Muldoon is a co-author of COVID-19 Conspiracy Theories and currently focuses on conspiracy, misinformation, and apocalypticism around infectious disease outbreaks. She is a former Science Policy Advisor in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) at the Department of Health and Human Services. While at ASPR, she focused on international public health systems, laboratory biosafety and biosecurity, science communication, and policy development for regulating genetically altered biological organisms. She has published peer-reviewed articles on biodefense history, U.S. implementation of nonproliferation treaties, and infectious disease surveillance systems. She holds a Masters in Public Health degree from George Washington University and is currently a Ph.D. student in the School for the Future of Innovation and Society at ASU.
