This week we are talking about bands that have rock stars in them: Supergroups and Offshoots. Captain Content reminds us that a band consisting of well-known artists from other bands does not always equal great success. We dive into some of the more obscure supergroups and offshoots that didn't break with huge mainstream success or stay around very long. What is it we do here at InObscuria? Every show Kevin opens the crypt to exhume and dissect from his personal collection; an artist, album, or collection of tunes from the broad spectrum of rock, punk, and metal. This week we talk exclusively about Supergroups featuring famous solo artists and band members along with, Offshoots which are bands that contain the bulk of a previous incarnation of a famous band. Interview with Sheriff Chuck Wright: Law Enforcement and the Light of Faith in Battling Addiction and Community Healing

When faith collides with the hard truths of law enforcement, the journey is profound. Join me as I sit down with Sheriff Chuck Wright of Spartanburg County, a figure of strength and a testament to the transformation that a Christ-centered life can bring. Chuck isn't just a lawman; he's a beacon in our community, guiding us through his personal evolution from a 'weekend Christian' to a beacon of spiritual leadership. This heart-to-heart is a rare glimpse into how prayer, scripture, and a dedication to family can reshape a life, and consequently, impact the community at large, especially as we grapple with the pervasive issue of illegal drugs and the scourge of substances like fentanyl reaching our streets from unsecured borders. And then there's the opioid crisis—more than a headline, it's a reality that's tearing at the fabric of our homes right here in Spartanburg County. Through candid conversation, Sheriff Wright and I address the chilling ease with which addiction can take hold, often in the innocent aftermath of surgery or trauma. We share personal anecdotes and practical wisdom on managing prescription medications responsibly and turning to prayer and over-the-counter options as alternatives. For those entangled in the grip of addiction, there's a message of hope: our local detention center's support programs and the power of community and faith to nurture recovery. As Sheriff Wright spearheads his re-election campaign, it's clear that healing our county runs much deeper than upholding the law—it's about healing souls.https://www.jacksonfamilyministry.comhttps://bobslone.com/home/podcast-production/

Chuck Wright is an American bassist, songwriter, singer, music producer, and live event producer, best known as a long-time member of the multi-platinum Heavy Metal band Quiet Riot. He originally worked with Quiet Riot in 1982, playing bass on the tracks "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" and "Don't Wanna Let You Go," as well as singing background vocals on all of the tracks from the 1983 multi-platinum album Metal Health. The album spawned the first-ever #1 Metal album on Billboards Hot 100 and changed the fabric of the music as it was known then. Wright's career in mainstream rock first took off when he joined Giuffria in 1984. Their debut album produced the hit single, "Call to the Heart" (Hot 100 #15) in 1985. After sold-out arena tours with Deep Purple and Foreigner, Wright left Giuffria to re-join Quiet Riot in 1986, to record and compose songs for their QRIII release and supporting world tour. His reputation as one of the most sought-after bass players has landed him working alongside music icons Alice Cooper, Slash, Gene Simmons, Gregg Allman, Carmine Appice, Ronnie Montrose, John Waite, and Pat Travers. Wright has appeared on over 100 worldwide record releases, playing bass and producing albums of various styles, including Ambient Trance, Reggae, Rap, Country, and of course Rock. He was also involved in seven film scores, including Kull the Conqueror, where he was joined by Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Over the years, Wright also worked with House Of Lords, Bad Moon Rising, Blackthorne, Christian Tolle Project, Doro, Impellitteri, Kuni, MSG, Magdalen, Murderer's Row, Pata, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, Adler's Appetite, Love/Hate, Ken Tamplin, and Shane Gibson from Korn and many others. Wright is the creator of Ultimate Jam Night, a long-running bi-monthly live music show established in January 2015 at the Whisky A Go-Go in West Hollywood. Ultimate Jam Night features up to 80 pro musicians each week. Wright also continues to perform live with Legends Of Classic Rock, as well as his Los Angeles eclectic local group Acoustic Saints. My guest today is Chuck Wright. We hit the ground running, talking about his new album, Chuck Wright's Sheltering Sky. It's an impressive piece of work with 41 guest musicians on it! It also contains a wide variety of styles and genres, reflecting his own musical career. Chuck reveals some very strange coincidences with this album. And he admits that this album is 100% a result of being in lockdowns. We also get into Chuck's history, like how getting a bass changed his career path from the military to musician, his favorite bass players and what they all have incommon, and how he started playing with Quiet Riot, at a very important juncture in music history. Chuck is really proud of this new album, and he should be. But he's already working on his next project and new bands. He's got a Field Of Dreams attitude towards touring for Sheltering Sky. He says, if they want it, he will come. But between new music and the Ultimate Jam Night residency at the Whiskey A Go Go, he doesn't have a lot of free time. Pick up the album anywhere, like chuckwright.com, where you will also find his social media links. Follow us @PerformanceAnx on Twitter & Instagram.
