RUNDOWN Mitch and Hotshot Scott dissect a trade deadline that produced more shrugs than shockwaves, debating whether the Mariners actually bought or simply trimmed payroll. They weigh the additions of Taylor Ward and Seranthony Domínguez, the Luis Castillo trade, and why Seattle's playoff hopes still rest on Julio Rodríguez, Cal Raleigh, and the hitters already in uniform before wrapping up with birthday trivia. Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas debate whether Jerry Dipoto did enough at the deadline, breaking down Taylor Ward, Seranthony Domínguez, Luis Castillo, and the decision to keep George Kirby and Logan Gilbert. They also examine Seattle's lineup questions and what the club's quiet deadline reveals about its future. Scott Spiezio recounts how a devastating back injury with the Mariners sent his life into a spiral of depression, addiction, and personal collapse. The former World Series hero opens up about alcohol, cocaine, failed relationships, and the long road that inspired his memoir, The Hardest Comeback. Scott Spiezio shares the remarkable turnaround that followed baseball's darkest chapter, describing liver failure, sobriety, restored family relationships, and the faith that transformed his life. Eight years sober, he explains why helping others has become a greater victory than any championship.   GUESTS   Brady Farkas | Host, Refuse to Lose podcast Joe Doyle | MLB analyst, Over-Slot Scott Spiezio | Former Seattle Mariners Infielder & Author, The Hardest Comeback   TABLE OF CONTENTS   0:00 | Mariners Stand Pat as the Trade Deadline Comes and Goes. 25:30 | Mariners No-Table: Joe and Brady Break Down Seattle's Deadline Gamble. 45:56 | Scott Spiezio Part 1: From World Series Hero to Addiction—and Back Again. 1:05:38 | Scott Spiezio Part 2: Redemption Arrives After Baseball's Darkest Detour. 1:218:00 | Other Stuff: 16-year-old Santa Cruz lifeguard's heroic ocean rescue, Kyle Shanahan crash cover-up questions, Ricky Pearsall out for the season as Deebo Samuel returns to San Francisco, Ahman Green reveals Parkinson's diagnosis, Tony Romo placed on leave by CBS, Shohei Ohtani card sells for $11 million, Eric Bieniemy's wife shot by their son, new allegations in the J.P. On this episode of The Roundtable, we're exploring how public attention doesn't just tell a story—it changes it.We begin with Ariana Grande's decision to step back from the spotlight after months of relentless public scrutiny, asking whether constant observation has become psychologically unsustainable for modern celebrities. Then we break down Scheana Shay's response to rumors that she tried to join The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, examining how a casual comment can evolve into an industry headline once the podcast and social media ecosystem gets involved.Next, we unpack the latest chapter in the decades-long feud between Kandi Burruss and Tamar Braxton, where a rejected handshake at Essence Festival raises bigger questions about authenticity, public performance, and the pressure celebrities face to appear cordial for the cameras. We also remember the life and career of Vincent Pastore, reflecting on how one of television's most iconic actors understood the line between performance and reality long before reality television became its own cultural force. Finally, we examine the disturbing developments in the Nancy Guthrie investigation, including the ongoing debate surrounding the early response, the role of online spectators, and what happens when public fascination begins to interfere with real-life tragedy.Throughout the episode, one question connects every story:Does simply watching people change who they become—or has our attention become one of the most powerful forces shaping reality itself?Pull up a chair... the conversation starts now.The Roundtable is a Georgio Says Podcast Series, where the headlines start the conversation—but the bigger story is always waiting beneath the surface. In 1988, a straight-to-VHS satanic panic horror film called Black Roses went nowhere fast. The movie itself is, by any honest assessment, terrible: bright red fake blood, rubber monster suits, Vincent Pastore as a concerned father, and a teacher who kills a possessed student with a tennis racket. What the film left behind, almost accidentally, was a soundtrack worth arguing about. The musicians behind the fictional band Black Roses are King Cobra's core lineup: Marcie Free, Mick Sweda, Carmine Appice, and Chuck Wright. They show up alongside Lizzy Borden, Bang Tango (in their first commercial recording ever, predating Psycho Cafe by a year), Tempest, Hallow's Eve, and a second King Kobra lineup featuring Johnny Edwards, who later sang for Foreigner. Metal Blade Records put full-page ads in every metal magazine. The CD now sells for $50 to $300 on Discogs. Patron Keith Miller paid $100 for his. This week, Jay, Tim, and Chip work through whether this is a hidden gem, a curiosity, or something more complicated: a record that does not fit the artist album model or the showcase compilation model, and lands somewhere between the two.

Best known for his role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO's hit series “The Sopranos,” Giovanni and Dutch welcome actor Vincent Pastore to Inside the Life. In this episode, Vincent, Giovanni and Dutch chop it up, discussing everything from Pastore's career in the music and nightlife industry, his experience living and working around New York Mob-types, how he landed his role on “The Sopranos” to Giovanni's infiltration of the “real Sopranos,” New Jersey's DeCavalcante crime family. After discussing how being an informant on the series affected him, Pastore shares the bittersweet behind-the-scenes story of the season two finale “Funhouse.” About Vincent Pastore: Born in the Bronx and raised in New Rochelle, NY, Pastore didn't get involved with acting until his 40s, aside from a small part in a 1968 soap opera. After meeting actors and brothers Kevin and Matt Dillon while running a nightclub in New York, they encouraged him to pursue acting. He is most famous for playing Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero in the first two seasons of “The Sopranos.”  When his character faces 30 years in prison for heroin trafficking, he becomes an FBI informant, forcing his character to “exit” the show.  Since “The Sopranos,” Pastore has played a wide variety of roles, including an appearance on “The Celebrity Apprentice” and a voice in the movie “Shark Tale.”  Pastore currently enjoys teaching acting workshops in New York City and regularly appears alongside his friends and fellow Sopranos stars Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa in the “In Conversations with The Sopranos” live shows.  Produced by The Mob Museum. Season One of Inside the Life is presented by Levy Online and Levy Production Group. It's time to dust off the gritty 90s VHS archives for an honest and gut wrenching film about growing up in NYC, discovering your queer identity, and the complexities of female relationships. Jules is along for this episode where we talk 'All Over Me' from 1997. I first rented this in high school and it has been on my list to watch again. This film grew on us as we compared to other films of the time that feel more like a documentary and a visual portrait. The soundtrack was completely up our alley with bands like Babes in Toyland, Helium, and Patti Smith. The fashion was so realistic and inspires today, we read some Letterboxd reviews, and discuss other intense female friendships on film that we enjoy.Watch the film on Youtube: https://youtu.be/OmfqcIlvd5w?si=xo1q0X8uFDy5agx8---Get BONUS episodes on 90s/00s TV and culture (Freaks & Geeks, My So Called Life, Buffy, 90s culture documentaries, and more...) and to support the show join the  Patreon! Hosts: Lauren @lauren_melanie &Jules @imdenmateFollow Fashion Grunge PodcastSubstack The Lo Down: a Fashion Grunge blog/newsletterInstagram @fashiongrungepodTwitter @fgrungepodLetterboxd Fashion Grunge PodcastTikTok @fashiongrungepod

Federico Castelluccio of The Sopranos Live on Game Changers with Vicki Abelson I knew Federico Castelluccio, Furio Giunta, on the Sopranos, is a crazy talented artist on screen and canvas, is charming, easy on the eyes and ears, but damn! I was unprepared for one of the most fascinating, spectacular conversations I've had to date. I know little to nothing of the art world beyond what I like. Federico made it all sound so straightforward and accessible. He demystified his process of collecting, making so much sense, and almost making it sound… simple! Alas, I'm well aware it's so not. Federico's decades of study, his photographic memory, and his passion paved the way for finds, well, one so extraordinary… sweet dreams are made of these. What joy to ask if it would be possible to view a piece of his work only to discover that the photograph behind him was not a photograph at ‘tol, but rather a charcoal Federico had done. The beauty of the library behind him, from the rich orange wall, gold frames, and perfectly weathered green bookcase, to when Federico swung the camera ‘round so we could glimpse the fine art that surrounds him, and his studio in the distance filled with eye candy worthy of a Florentine museum. And that was before we even touched on The Sopranos. Federico jumped into that, from his audition, taking a bold risk, despite the odds, the waiting, his callback, reaping the payoff, and most unusual words from David Chase, more waiting, to discovering he'd gotten the three-episode part, which swiftly grew to three seasons. He talked James Gandolfini, Vincent Curatola, Michael Imperioli, Vincent Pastore, Joey Pants, Aida Turturro, Larraine Bracco, Eddie Falco, the whole musbucha! There were fabulous stories of all, including beloved Burt Young. We talked about Federico's segue to directing, from award-winning shorts, where he also starred and produced, to his feature film debut, The Brooklyn Banker, which starred David Proval another Soprano pal, and Paul Sorvino. Every single word was infused with enthusiasm, passion, and delight. It's hours later and I still haven't stopped smiling. This is edutainment of the highest order. Federico Castelluccio, a true Renaissance Man, has a new #1 Fan.
