This podcast covers New Girl Season 4, Episode 13 which originally aired on Jan 13, 2015 and was written by Sophia Lear and directed by Bill Purple. Here's a quick recap of the episode:In this episode, Coach lost his status as the guy people want to sleep with, so he encourages Jess and Ryan to come out about their relationship at school. Schmidt is dealing with an ulcer which Nick & Kai try to help him with. This episode got a 8/10 rating from both Kritika and Kelly; Kritika's favorite character was Winston and Kelly's favorite was Coach. While not discussed in the podcast, we noted other references in this episode including:Da Vinci - Schmidt agreed that Nick has always been physically lazy, but went on to say that mentally he was like “Da Vinci in tie-dye.” Dennis Rodman - Nick felt that Schmidt lived by his own rules in college and said he was like “a fat, Jewish Dennis Rodman.”Mars Rover - Ryan's field trip idea was to let the students talk to real astronauts and operate the Mars Rover.Additionally we mentioned in our podcast episode the “Old Girl” spoof with Helen Slayton-Hughes. You can watch it here. Thanks for listening and stay tuned for Episode 14! Live from Pawnee: A Parks and Recreation Fan Rewatch Podcast

This week Mark and Allen break down the Episode where we learn that Jerry has fulfilled a life-long dream and become a Notary Public! Trying to come up with reasons the Newport land parcel should be turned into a park rather than a corporate campus, Leslie examines any historical ties that will help her case. Bill Haggerty from the Pawnee Historical Society tells Leslie that the 9th United States President, William Henry Harrison, had a hunting lodge on that land. Leslie hopes this could make it qualify for Historic Landmark status, but finds out the "hunting lodge" has been reduced to a few remaining boulders and bricks. Determined to make the most of it, Leslie stays positive, and next travels to the nearby William Henry Harrison museum in Vincennes, in an attempt to gather everything she can related to the former president. After hearing that Annabel Porter from Bloosh is on board with Gryzzl (see B-Story), Leslie fights fire with fire, and looks for a face for HER bid. Bill Haggerty tells her that William Henry Harrison has a distant nephew, Zach Harrison, living in the area. Gathering everything together, Leslie plans to have a press conference regarding these new William Henry Harrison-related finds. Meanwhile, When Gryzzl learns about Leslie's efforts to strengthen her case, they call a meeting with Ron, Tom, and Donna, suggesting that they get a local Pawnee celebrity as a minority owner. Ron is reluctant, but when he is made aware of Leslie's further progress, he realizes the potential need to counter, and grudgingly agrees to meet with Annabel Porter of Bloosh (last seen on 6.07 "Recall Vote") to be the celebrity face of Gryzzl's bid. They meet with Annabel at Bloosh company headquarters, and while Tom and Donna are enamored with her, Ron is repulsed by everything to do with Bloosh. However, upon hearing that Leslie is preparing a press conference (see A-Story), Ron accelerates his plans and gives Annabel the green light to prepare their own press conference on behalf of Gryzzl. Also meanwhile, Realizing the land both Leslie and Ron are bidding for lies within Pawnee city limits, Ben (acting as City Manager) has a highly-important Point of Sale document that requires official signatures from both Leslie and Ron. Knowing it will be awkward, due to Leslie and Ron feuding, Ben enlists the help of Jerry, who recently fulfilled a lifelong dream and became a Notary Public. This way Leslie and Ron don't have to be in the same room at the same time - Ben and Jerry can travel to one, and then travel to the other. While this sounds good on paper, things keep going wrong, and Ben has great difficulties getting the signatures he needs - which starts to drive him crazy. Finally, ever since the last episode, when April heard Joan's "Walk of Fame" speech, she has been trying to figure out what she really wants to do with her life. This continues in this episode as well, and we find April brainstorming with Andy about various possibilities. As always, we tackle the tough questions, such as ... Can Leslie get Zach Harrison to help with her press conference? Does Annabel Porter agree to spearhead the Gryzzl press conference? Will Ben ever get his documents correctly and officially signed? Can April draw inspiration from the William Henry Harrison museum? Does Leslie manage to get the giant tin-and-paper ball all the way from the museum to the press conference? Will the Gryzzl press conference go well enough to secure their bid for the Newport Land Parcel? Can Jerry ever stop talking about all the cool things having to do with Notary Publics? Does Andy figure out how to help April? Does Ron try to do anything to ambush Leslie? Will Leslie's press conference succeed in getting the Newport Land Parcel preserved? Loyal podcast viewers, the old adage says "what goes up, must come down". Will that hold true for Season 7 here in the 3rd episode? Stay tuned to find out! Live from Pawnee: A Parks and Recreation Fan Rewatch Podcast

This week Mark and Allen break down the Episode where we are first introduced to Bloosh, as well as its founder, Annabel Porter! With the day of the Recall Election at hand, Leslie distracts herself by working with the gang to transform City Hall into a haunted house for Halloween. To ensure Leslie remains calm, Ben and Ann form the "Leslie Knope Emotional Support Task Force" and provide further distractions for her throughout the day. That night, the gang waits with Leslie in the bullpen for the results to pour in. It doesn't take long, and unfortunately, Leslie loses the recall election in a landslide. It would be safe to say Leslie does not handle the situation well. She comes into work the next morning dressed like a slob, eating a Paunch Burger, having lost interest in not only the haunted house project, but also her general well-being. That night, Ben takes her to a bar and watches her pound shots, while he tries to boost her spirits. Meanwhile, Tom gets one final mediocre buyout offer from Dr. Saperstein (delivered by Trevor the lawyer, of course), and is pressured to take it, since Rent-A-Swag has not been doing well. Shortly afterwards, Ron finds out his hand-crafted rocking chair has been named a trending, must-have item of the season by Annabel Porter, the author of Bloosh, Pawnee's premiere weekly lifestyle newsletter. Ron is rather nonplussed at this news, but he sees Tom and Donna are very excited, with Tom especially excited as he sees it as a possible way for HIM to get into Bloosh and give his ailing business a much needed boost. Realizing it could help Tom, Ron agrees to go on Pawnee Today to discuss his craft with Joan Callemezzo and Annabel Porter. Ron brings Tom and Donna with him to the recording, and they all plan to attend the Bloosh after party as well, where Tom hopes Ron can personally introduce him to Annabel Porter. Finally, April misses Andy and feels lost without her soul mate. Halloween was "their thing", and she does not feel like she can enjoy this time of the year without Andy. Chris attempts to comfort her and cheer her up, but in typical April fashion, she rebuffs his efforts. As always, we tackle the tough questions, such as ... Can Ben boost Leslie's spirits, or will Leslie drag Ben down to her level? Does Ron end up introducing Tom to Annabel at the Bloosh after party? Can Chris manage to cheer up April in time for the City Hall Haunted House? Will Ann swoop in to help save the day? Can Annabel negotiate a business proposal with Ron regarding his chair? Will April apologize for mouthing off to Chris despite his good intentions? What will Leslie do during her last 30 days? Will Tom end up taking Dr. Saperstein's final buyout offer? Loyal viewers, tragedy has struck ... and Leslie is out of office. How in the world can the gang bounce back from this? Tune in to find out! It's been compared to WandaVision for its satirizing, reality bending, “things aren't the way they seem to be” plot. Valerie Armstrong, best known for her work as story editor on Lodge 49, first conceived of the show in 2017 around the time that Erinn Hayes was fired unceremoniously from Kevin James' show Kevin Can Wait.  She pitched her idea to AMC and worked tandem with executive producers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack to get the show underway. The trailer led to a lot of speculation for what this series could do. We discuss the first two episodes in the podcast. Listen in if you're interested!

Soul Balm by Clark Moore

Clark interviews his “Huge in France” co-star Erinn Hayes (“Chidrens Hospital,” “Medical Police,” “Kevin Can Wait”). Clark asks Erinn about handling herself on set, and how that’s evolved over the course of her career. Erinn shares how she’s been handling quarantine. Clark and Erinn discuss their relationship with aging in entertainment. Erinn reveals the pep talk she gives herself before a big comedy scene. Clark asks Erinn about meeting her husband at a young age, and she explains why their relationship works 20 something years later. Erinn shares how she keeps her children off social media. Clark and Erinn breakdown their frustrations with their individual careers. Clark asks Erinn about her experience with “Kevin Can Wait.” Finally, Erinn shares what is currently healing her mind, body and spirit—her Soul Balm. Henry Winkler is a legend that doesn't need much of an introduction.  It's likely you first knew him as "The Fonze" on Happy Days... or maybe you're a big fan of his current Emmy-Award Winning portrayal of Acting Teacher Gene Cousineau on HBO's Barry, or his equally hysterical performance as Barry Zuckerkorn, the Bluth family attorney, on Arrested Development.  But you may not know that he's the co-author of 35 children's books and one of the producers on MacGyver, or that he had to get over his self-assessment, as a kid, that he was a "dumb" outsider because he was dyslexic.  Despite his stardom and stature, he is full of humility, generosity and a love for the craft of storytelling.  His story is full of resilience and tales of overcoming his own 10,000 "No"s.    SHOW NOTES:  Henry's love and appreciation of being able to "do the work", (8:22). Growing up in Manhattan with parents that he disliked for being "severe", (11:30). Henry's relationship to education, being dyslexic, and how it has led him and his writing partner to write a series of books all about an outsider, (14:49). Henry discussing the chameleon-like talent of our mutual friend, Sam Rockwell, (16:40). Being a late bloomer and realizing that making a strong choice as an actor opened his imagination and enabled him to fly, (18:02). From age 7, he wanted to be an actor with no plan B, which hurt him when Happy Days ended, (20:20). Getting into producing despite his fear of being "dumb" because of his dyslexia, (22:22). The doing of something, producing, is what made Henry aware of what he was good at, (26:04). The real work that must be done on one's self, (27:04). "If I change, will I be accepted?", (27:43). A disastrous night at Neil Simon's house, (29:04). A chance at redemption with Neil Simon years later and how he almost sabotaged it out of fear, (31:38). Going to college despite not walking with his high school class, mostly due to his parents' desire for him to go to college, (35:57). Forgetting his Shakespeare monologue at the big TCG auditions and making it up on the spot, (37:17). A valuable lesson about owning his unique gift from a Prima Ballerina, (42:42).  The experience of Barry on HBO, where Bill Hader and Aleck Berg allowed Henry to bring his qualities to a role they imagined quite different from him, (44:09). A comparison of my relationship to my role on Huge in France and Henry's relationship to his role as the Fonze, "it's you they want", (48:10). A lesson about telling himself "no" while playing Scrooge in 1979, (49:16). On Inside the Actor's Studio Henry realizes the role of the Actor in the world - to hold a mirror to society, (51:24). Working with a young Sylvester Stallone on 'Lords of Flatbush' and realizing he was in the presence of greatness, (55:54). “If you know in your center that you’re on the right path, that this is the right thing… ya gotta keep going.", (1:00:09). A story about a pilot called Monty that started out hysterical and then was ruined by attempting to make it politically correct, (1:04:30) Working as a producer on MacGuyver, (1:09:38). Co-authoring 35 books despite feeling like he never could because of his dyslexia, (1:11:27). What Henry says to himself to get out a funk - you have to figure it out, (1:12:37).  Henry's love of fly-fishing, (1:13:38).  Henry's experience on Barry "everything you want it to be", (1:15:37).  Henry's advice to his younger self, (1:17:50)    GUEST LINKS:  IMDb:  Henry Winkler  Wikipedia:  Henry Winkler  Henry's Books on Amazon: Hank Zipzer The World's Greatest Underachiever 10 Book Slipcase Collection  Variety:  Henry Winkler Wins First Emmy: 'I Wrote This (Speech) 43 Years Ago'    A DEEPER DIVE INTO 10,000 "No"s:  Support the Pod With Your 10,000 "No"s Apparel Purchase Here  Shop Thru Matt's Amazon Influencer Page (for items mentioned in interviews to support 10KNos at no extra cost to you.)  Inquire About Coaching With Matt    FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS AND PROMO VIDEOS OF WHO'S NEXT, FOLLOW:   Instagram:  @mattydel  Twitter:  @MatthewDelNegro  Facebook:  Matthew Del Negro Fan Site  LinkedIn:  @MatthewDelNegro  Email us feedback, guest suggestions or to be added to our MAILING LIST     RELATED PAST EPISODES OF 10,000 “No”s:  Ep 43:  Mark Duplass, Just Shoot It  Ep 53: Emmy-Award Winner Richard Schiff, of The West Wing & The Good Doctor  Ep 87: Erinn Hayes, How to Survive Being Killed Off a Sitcom Prematurely (by Scoring Lead Roles in TWO Netlfix Comedy Series)  Ep 118:  Actor Sarah Shahi, That Which Does Not Kill You Will Make You Stronger    If you like what you hear, please pass on the word. Adult Swim has been the home for many influential pieces of alternative comedy, but Childrens Hospital is a series that helped the fledgling network establish their brand. The Dadaist comedy helped bring live-action to the programming block as well as an enviable cast and crew of comedic talent.Childrens Hospital was a jewel in Adult Swim's line-up for the seven seasons that it ran. However, the series has decided to gloriously return in the form of a police procedural parody series on Netflix, Medical Police. Medical Police retains the absurdity of Childrens Hospital, but gives it a glossy action makeover and makes Drs. Owen Maestro (Rob Huebel) and Lola Spratt (Erinn Hayes) the series' driving forces. The result is one of Netflix's silliest series in ages and a very worthy follow-up to Childrens Hospital. We got the opportunity to talk with Rob Huebel and Erinn Hayes about their return to the characters Owen Maestro and Lola Spratt, how Medical Police differs from Childrens Hospital, and their favorite moments from subverting action tropes. Erinn Hayes, How to Survive Being Killed Off a Sitcom Prematurely (by Scoring Lead Roles in TWO Netlfix Comedy Series)

Erinn Hayes is funny.  There's no way around it, as I discovered at the table read of the newly released Netflix Comedy Series, Huge in France.  But less than a year before that day, she was inexplicably killed off a very lucrative gig, where she played the wife of Kevin James on his CBS sitcom, Kevin Can Wait.  They say that success is the best revenge and, after the initial shock and depression over the loss of a regular paycheck, Hayes picked herself up and got back in the game.  Not only did she succeed in landing the role of Vivian in Huge in France, but shortly after we wrapped Netflix decided to give her and Rob Huebel a spinoff of their cult-favorite Adult-Swim show, Animal Hospital, with the forthcoming Medical Police.  A real-life Mom and wife when she's not juggling her career duties or renovating houses, Erinn tears the notion of the "glamorous" Hollywood life down to the studs and talks about overcoming 10,000 "No"s. SHOW NOTES: “I’ve always been the performer kid, doing plays since I was young. I always knew that I wanted to act”, (2:55). She explains how she stumbled into an amazing theater program in college, (3:25). Once you get in certain doors there are doors that will continuously open for you, but it becomes increasingly harder to get the other doors open, (5:49). “You have to milk what you got and slowly chip away at that wall, until you get that one thing that maybe gets a little bit more views until people start to see you in most ways”, (8:50). Advises young innovators or producers that jump into the, “wait until this gets big” to take it realistically, (13:49). “What I care about is did I have fun on set, am I proud at my work, and did the check clear, 123, if those three things happened then everything else is bonus”, (14:06). You have to go in with the mindset of having huge hope in yourself but at the same time prepare for the worst, (17:29). “Wrapping my head around luck, and how much this business and any business is hard work, the talent to do the thing you’re working hard at and that element of luck, (21:58). Luck is one factor that is tricky to determine, (23:20). Speaks about being fired and learning from the experience and ego, (30:00). “I’d be a sitcom wife if it were her story, and where I have a sitcom husband”, (35:27). I guess the word “NO” just means find a different yes. Just let it go quickly and then move on, it means move on to the next opportunity, (36:18). If there’s some sort of defeat or some sort of “NO” take what you can from it, salvage it, and move on,” (37:10).   LINKS: Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/hayeslady/?hl=en Twitter:https://twitter.com/hayeslady?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor IMDb:https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0141613/ Childrens Hospital: https://www.forbes.com/sites/spikefriedman/2016/06/17/childrens-hospitals-erinn-hayes-on-the-best-job-of-her-life-and-charting-a-career-in-comedy/#4504fe7a1319 The Vulture: https://www.vulture.com/news/erinn-hayes/ Kevin Can Wait: https://www.vulture.com/news/erinn-hayes/ https://www.closerweekly.com/posts/who-is-erinn-hayes-143411/   RELATED PAST EPISODES OF 10,000 “No”s: Mark Duplass: https://www.10000nos.com/episodes/ep-43mark-duplass-just-shoot-it?rq=mark%20duplass   Richard Schiff: https://www.10000nos.com/episodes/ep-53-emmy-award-winner-richard-schiff-of-the-west-wing-the-good-doctor?rq=richard   Bryan Callen: https://www.10000nos.com/episodes/ep-62-how-to-bet-on-yourself-comedianactorpodcast-host-tfatk-bryan-callen?rq=callen   Gad Elmaleh: https://www.10000nos.com/episodes/ep-86-gadnbspelmalehnbsphownbspto-go-from-being-huge-in-france-to-being-huge-everywherenbsp?rq=flow

It’s a party at the Palermo Estate and we’re all invited! This episode we’re talking about David DeCoteau’s Final Stab aka Final Scream starring Erinn Hayes, Melissa Renee Martin, Chris Boyd, Jamie Gannon and Laila Reece Landon as young folks killing and being killed at a secluded house that was the site of a quadruple homicide. It’s kind of like April Fool’s Day meets Scream but with a lot of strobe lightning, a camera that’s always moving and barely a moment that doesn’t have score playing underneath it. We talk the movie and then play another game of ‘DECOTEAU OR PORN?’ where Mitch has to decide between two titles to guess which is a film by prolific director David DeCoteau or a regular ol’ porno.

We couldn't help ourselves. Today's episode begins with even more chatter about Erinn Hayes, the ***FORMER*** star of Kevin Can Wait who was cruelly killed off by bigwigs at CBS who think America would prefer Leah Remini. (They're not wrong, but we're still sad about Erinn.) Later, the smelly pu...vagina story heard 'round the world--or at least in the general vicinity of Bravo--has finally come to an end. Next up, Lindsey makes Bobby play a game about two very recent Wholebrity weddings. And finally, Rita was allegedly chosen by teens.

Today's Guest: Nancy Lenehan, actress, "Worst Week" It takes a certain kind of woman to play Angela, Sam's mother-in-law on the hysterical new CBS sitcom, "Worst Week." Nancy Lenehan is that woman. Nancy Lineman, actress, Worst Week One week, she and her husband—the judge—are getting busy under his desk. Another week, she rides a cello down a flight of stairs. Oh, and did you happen to see the one where Sam walks in on her in the gynecologist's office and sees her you-know-what? And then writes a magazine column about it? Lenehan has been a guest star on dozens of hit sitcoms over the years, ranging from "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Malcolm in the Middle" to "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and she’s Earl Hickey’s mother on "My Name is Earl." To me, “Worst Week” is one of those show—like “The Office” and even “Seinfeld”—that marches to its own rhythm and needs time to find its audience. It is slapstick funny and yet has moments of warmth and tenderness like no other sitcom on the air today. If you haven’t watched it yet. You should. Now. I have declared myself to be a "counter Resolutionist" this year and, accordingly, 2013 is right on track since I have broken no resolutions. You can't break what you don't have.  Been suffering from some kind of viral crud (I'm not talking about an onslaught of cute kitty videos) that's going around the past few days but I don't think it's the flu. More like a cold. Whatever it is, it's taken up residence in my throat and sinuses, and will be making a guest appearance during this episode. Our Special Guest is no virus although, with David Owen's tenaciousness at lining up comedy groups and venues for the San Francisco Sketchfest, he could be mistaken for something contagious. Last year about this time we had Cole Stratton, co-host of the Pop My Culture podcast, former member of my improv group The Riffingtons, and one of the three founder/producers of the  Sketchfest. For the 12th year of the 'fest, Mr. Owen joins me to talk about this year’s upcoming exciting show. How exciting? Here's just a partial list of the performers scheduled to appear: Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein, Rob Corddry, Erinn Hayes, Rob Huebel, Ken Marino, Jonathan Stern, David Wain, Bruce Campbell, Patton Oswalt, Reggie Watts, Kevin McDonald, Adam Savage, Kristen Schaal, Paul F. Tompkins, Janet Varney, Eddie Pepitone, Michael Ian Black, Beth Dover, Carla Gallo, Ryan Hansen, Rob Huebel, Natasha Leggero, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Erica Oyama, June Diane Raphael, Paul Scheer, Jonathan Stern, Maria Bamford, Roger Bart, Jennifer Coolidge, Rachel Dratch, Janeane Garofalo, Laraine Newman, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, Maya Rudolph, Fred Willard…the list goes on and one. If you’re in or near San Francisco between January 24 and February 10, check out the amazing lineup and get ticket at http://SFSketchfest.com You can also follow info about the show on Twitter by following @SFSketchfest. Catch more of Will's musings at http://WillDurst.com THE CLIPS By The Way – In Conversation with Jeff GarlinThis new show jumped into the charts at #9 for its very first week of life. It’s over on the Earwolf network and the show is recorded live in front of an audience at Largo in Los Angeles. For his first outing, host Jeff Garlin has tapped Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld and with whom he works on Curb Your Enthusiasm. It’s over an hour of rollicking conversation and the audience LOVES it, as you can hear in this clip. This Week With Larry MillerHe’s back! I mentioned last episode that comedian/actor Larry Miller was finally well enough to return to the podcast waves this past week. The first new episode of This Week With Larry Miller dropped last Thursday and most of the show Larry talks about the freak accident that landed him in the hospital, a medically-induced coma, and months of rehabilitation. And he does it in classic Larry Miller storytelling style. (Because that sort of thing is so hard to clip, I’ve opted to tease you with his Joke Of The Week, which is just Larry telling an old joke.) Double Talk RadioAt Double Talk Radio, Double K and one of his guests from this episode, Matty, have a story to tell. And you’ll probably hear from DK’s co-host Cookie J and their other guest, The Hick. The audio quality of this cast is less than our usual standards, but they’re got something going on it seems – been on for awhile and have a lot of loyal listeners. Duncan Trussell Family HourWith well over a hundred episodes of the Duncan Trussell Family Hour under his belt, comedian Duncan Trussell's guests include comedians, actors and people from all sorts of interesting directions. Most recently his focus in his pre-interview portion of the show has been focused on a probable diagnosis of testicular cancer. Our hearts go out to him and we wish him a safe recovery. And you have to admire he spirit with which he approaches such a heavy thing, as heard from the beginning of a recent episode… The Geek GenerationThe Geek Generation, with co-hosts Rob Logan, Mike Volpe, Anna Zifcak, Mikey Arsenault, is another podcast that’s passed the century-episode mark a while ago. They cover ANYTHING remotely geeky – video games, movies, TV, comic books, tech, animation – you name it, they’ll eventually get around to it. And even though co-host Anna Zifcak has grown up by buying a house and now she’s about to get married. But a geek can’t have an ordinary wedding now, can she? Wheelbarrow Full of DicksThat’s the name of a podcast featuring Mike, Drunk, Paul, and Nappier – four guys I know very little about because – as is often the case – 84% of podcasters have an aversion to revealing much information about themselves. (I got that stat the same place I found out that 72% of podcasters make up statistics.) Anyway, Wheelbarrow falls under my heading of being an STS show – Shooting The Shit – and these guys will go anywhere that there’s conversation to be had. It’s Not Soccer PodcastWhat would you call a sports podcast that has precious little to do with sports? How about the It’s Not Soccer Podcast. That’s what Adam Barker who Succotashians know from the Oddcast Podcast and Billy Cutmore call their show. As THEY say, if you’re not into sports, listening to It’s Not Soccer will NOT make you feel left out. That's about it for this episode. Appreciate you stopping by. Appreciate you even more if you wanted to hit the Donate button in the upper right hand corner of our homesite. Or do you Amazon online shopping by getting there through the carousel on the bottom right of our http://SuccotashShow.com site.
