Send us a textKatie and Bridget shoot their eyes out as they re-watch the holiday classic: A Christmas Story! It's a movie so iconic and overplayed around Christmas that we guarantee you've probably fallen asleep at least ONCE while watching it! Come along as we meet Ralphie, a kid obsessed with getting the one thing he wants for Christmas: An official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and a "thing" that tells time. Over the days leading up to Christmas we follow Ralphie through all typical kid things, such as: surviving and then (eventually) beating up bullies, NOT being an upstander for his friends, getting scammed by capitalistic corporations, and learning how Mom's deal with stupid decisions by their husbands (Pst - Just break the lamp!). After psychological warfare, coercion through badly written essays, and even attempting to enlist Santa on his mission, Ralphie eventually gets his gift and to absolutely no one's surprise - he shoots his eye out. This timeless classic continues to make us laugh even to this day! Released in 1983, it stars Peter Billingsley, Melinda Dillon, Darren McGavin, Scott Schwartz, RD Robb, and Zack Ward.

We unleash the dead on this episode! We discuss the cult classic Raiders Of The Living Dead, a 1986 horror movie by (sort of) Samuel M. Sherman. Three different versions of this movie exist, and we talk about every single one of 'em on this episode! It's a horror history course, and it's almost time for class! Director Sam Sherman's company INDEPENDENT-INTERNATIONAL PICTURES CORP purchased an unfinished 80 minute film called DYING DAY from special FX artist Brett Piper, which was re-shot over and over and over until becoming RAIDERS OF THE LIVING DEAD. All three versions of the film are discussed on this episode, which has different versions itself! You can watch this episode in stunning DEATH-O-VISION exclusively on Patreon! Then, after a lengthy news segment and Neil trying to contains his inimitable nerd-rage, they talk Spielberg's deeply personal new movie, The Fabelmans.A Christmas Story Christmas is a 2022 American Christmas comedy film directed by Clay Kaytis with a script he co-wrote with Nick Schenk, from an original story co-written by Schenk and Peter Billingsley. It is a legacy sequel to A Christmas Story (1983) and is the eighth installment in the Parker Family Saga franchise. The film was produced by Billingsley and Vince Vaughn along with Cale Boyter, Jay Ashenfelter, Marc Toberoff and Irwin Zwilling. Robb, Zack Ward, and Yano Anaya returning as Randy Parker, Flick, Schwartz, Scut Farkus, and Grover Dill, respectively. Erinn Hayes, River Drosche, and Julianna Layne play Ralphie's wife and kids, with Julie Hagerty (replacing Melinda Dillon from the original film) as Mrs. Parker. In the film, after the Old Man dies, Ralphie takes his family to his childhood home, reuniting with his mom and old friends, while being tasked to deliver a memorable Christmas. The Fabelmans is a 2022 American coming-of-age drama film directed by Steven Spielberg and written and produced by Tony Kushner and Spielberg. It is a semi-autobiographical story loosely based on Spielberg's adolescence and first years as a filmmaker, told through an original story of the fictional Sammy Fabelman, a young aspiring filmmaker who explores how the power of films can help him see the truth about his dysfunctional family and those around him. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Gabriel LaBelle as Sammy, with Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, and Judd Hirsch in supporting roles. The film is dedicated to the memories of Spielberg's real-life parents Leah Adler and Arnold Spielberg, who died in 2017 and 2020, respectively.Check out more movie review podcasts on https://w2mnet.com/

As a kid, Scotty Schwartz made his big screen debut alongside Hollywood legends Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason in the film, “The Toy”…and while he made his name in that movie, he became a true part of the fabric of pop culture as Flick in the holiday classic, “A Christmas Story”! But, once he hit his teens, his career hit a wall. He took a brief a brief detour into the adult film industry with the film “Scotty's X Rated Adventure”…but he's spent most of his adult years working in the sports and celebrity memorabilia industry....a fact which set off a nerd-fest on this morning's show! And now, he's reprising his role as Flick in the upcoming HBOMax film “A Christmas Story Christmas”…and he's coming to town to do a meet and greet at the Peculiar Winery on November 5th!!!
