What happens when disinformation meets cutting-edge AI—and Black communities are caught in the crosshairs? In this powerful episode of The Electorette, host Jen Taylor-Skinner speaks with Esosa Osa, Founder and CEO of Onyx Impact, about the alarming rise in AI-generated political disinformation targeting Black voters. Together, they unpack how misinformation campaigns are designed to exploit emotions like anger and disappointment—sowing distrust and disengagement, especially during election cycles. Esosa introduces the Digital Green Book, a modern tool inspired by its historic namesake, built to help Black communities navigate digital spaces safely and find truth in an era of algorithmic manipulation. Backed by Black news and cultural sources, this AI-powered guide offers fact-checking, media literacy tools, and data privacy resources designed specifically for Black users. We explore the staggering reality that 42% of online content is generated by malicious bots, why tech billionaires profit from unsafe platforms, and how we can protect our kids, our communities, and our votes in this digital information war.

We will listen and learn about what it takes to adjust to life's realities in the awesome circus of healthcare. Let's make some sense of all of this. Four more years, a mother When we had the conversations in 2019, you were a mom, but it wasn't about you being a mom. Now, you've been a mom for four more years, dealing with sickle cell and being part of the family unit. Your mom said it's not just the person with the diagnosis; the whole family must manage. What are your thoughts about that now? You and your kids are getting older. Your son's graduating from preschool. I can't believe it. Anyway, what are your thoughts about that? Fatima Muhammed-Ighile: She states that sickle cell is a family issue. These last few years, I've understood that more profoundly. My kids are now five and six. They ask questions, and there are times when they can now comprehend how my restrictions, based on when I feel sickle cell pain, affect their lives. So that's required me to have discussions with them that, at times, I wish I could have delayed. Health Hats: If I remember correctly, your daughter probably has the most challenging questions. You mean I won't get sickle cell? “You need to promote health if you want to be well.” - Esosa Edosomwan No matter how hard we may fight it or try to ignore it, aging is going to happen. But that doesn't mean that we can't feel great and look younger than we are while we age. In this episode, we talk with Certified Nutrition Specialist and Behavioral Coach Esosa Edosomwan all about agelessness, a term she uses to describe the process of aging in a healthy way that transcends the idea of anti-aging. Esosa shares the truly holistic approach she takes towards health and well-being and how she guides her clients on finding the routines and rituals that support their health and wellness. We also talk about how resilience factors into your health and longevity. In the “You Want Me To Do What??” section, Nicole and Shanna discuss the idea Esosa introduced of having a lifestyle that supports less stress on the body rather than managing stress, which is what so many of us practice. They also talk about the fact that you can reduce toxins in your life, but there is no way to avoid them so you definitely need to support elimination in the body. Episode Recap: Interview with Esosa Edosomwan - 2:42, “You Want Me To Do What??” section - 49:51 Highlights: Agelessness is not about anti-aging Factors affecting aging: Diet Elimination Lifestyle The key to agelessness is finding routines and rituals that support your health and wellness Slow aging by eliminating toxins and creating healthy daily habits The body naturally detoxifies so it's important to support the body's ability to eliminate efficiently Find a diet and lifestyle that supports less stress on the body Bioindividuality is king -- know yourself and don't rely on google to find the right diet, exercise, and lifestyle that suits you Lifestyle can trump your genes Resilience - how fast your body is equipped to bounce back Building resilience goes back to your daily habits Esosa's Top 3 Tips for Agelessness: Find what diet works for your body and stick with it Move your body regularly Reduce your stress Resources: Where to find Esosa Edosomwan: Website: https://www.therawgirl.com/ Instagram: @therawgirl Staying Ageless University: https://www.stayingagelessuniversity.com/ Podcast: Staying Ageless

Age ain't nothing but a number. I like the phrase -- especially with every birthday that passes. While that's meant to focus less on our numerical age, we can't escape that we are aging. Big facts. Although we can't stop the process, we can stay as ageless -- and as fine as possible on the journey! But it's our lifestyle choices that can make the difference. Esosa E. known as "Raw Girl" gives the deets on healthy habits we need to stay ageless and keep glowing in our 30's through our 70's. (Warning: If like me you have a sweet tooth, she's got some tough news for us. Sigh.) Plus, learn more about her StayingAgeless 30+ online program, starting February 28th.

The youth, the community, the people & coming together; lots of good topics on a Tuesday morning. Today we had the pleasure of speaking with our dear friend Sosa. As an Oswego resident we learned about his community and changes being made. In addition to that, there's been a lot of things that have remained the same and Sosa has been challenging those. As a clothing designer, he definitely has an eye for fashion. But as a young black man he is keen on social issues in our country. Today we talked about the current state of black youth in America and their prospects. We challenge the assertions of our people in anything other than favorable circumstances and we strive daily for perfection. Sosa is a great young man with a bright future. We wish him the very best; look out for his clothing and more from this man. He's a friend of the show! Shouts go out to our friend Vanessa at LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation). This is a wonderful establishment doing a lot to help families. Shouts also go out to friends of the show Tracy Duran (local author), Chad & Greg. Much love to Art Hooligans, the Aurora Public Art Commission and our friends Yvonne & Renee of Cotton Seed Creative Exchange. Stay tuned for more great interviews! So much more to come, of that there is no doubt! Shouts also go out to ComEd for knocking a lot off of my recent bill because of a clerical error; good looking out! Don't forget the City of Aurora's veterans day FB live tomorrow. All the news, all the culture & all Aurora. All the time. Peace! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/goodmorningaurora/support
