Have you felt completely overwhelmed when deciding what new show to watch these days? Us too. There's just so much content out there between network TV and numerous streaming platforms. Each week, we're going to try to break through the noise with TV watchers who can point us to the must-sees and steer us clear of the shows that maybe don't live up to the hype. This week, Larry talks television with Marcus Jones, awards editor for TV & Film at IndieWire, and Jen Chaney, television critic for Vulture. This week's shows include: Evil [Season 4] (Paramount+) The Sympathizer (HBO / Max) The Jinx: Part Two [Season 2] (Max) Top Chef [Season 21] (Bravo / Peacock) Gaga Chromatica Ball (HBO / Max) We Are Lady Parts [Season 2] (Peacock)
Well, we're done with this one! Let's hope that the American one salvage something from these stories! But we do remember American Cracker :-(
This Peacock original series is a look into WWE bad guys or “Heels” as they are referred to, both past and present. Legendary bad guys like “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan, The Brothers of Destruction & “Nature Boy” Ric Flair along with current bad guys like “The Viper” Randy Orton, The Miz and the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Regins all tell their stories of good guys gone bad.
If you tuned into Doctor Who in the early '70s, chances are you saw Jon Pertwee in a colorful tuxedo arguing with the Brigadier and UNIT on the best way to take down some inhuman menace whose strings are being pulled by Roger Delgado's Master. You get that in spades in The Mind of Evil, which makes it a 100% proof 1970s Who adventure, though at times the bloated story feels like they decided to coast almost entirely on the formula, without much attention given to whether any of the multiplying plot threads made sense on their own. Pay no mind — because you wouldn't want to get stuck with the bill for this one anyway. Play Pull To Open Bingo! Rate and review Pull To Open on Apple Podcasts! Join the conversation on Spotify! Ever since Evil first debuted on CBS in 2019, I was told time and time again that it was an absolute must-watch, that this genre mash-up of a show was right up my alley. I'm deeply embarrassed to admit that it took me until summer of 2022 to actually take that advice. But, sure enough, I fell so hard for Evil that now I'm determined to pay it forward — go watch all three seasons of Evil on Paramount+ right now!The show stars Mike Coulter as David, a Catholic seminarian working as an assessor, someone tasked with investigating the legitimacy of miracles and also claims of demonic activity. David does this with the help of Aasif Mandvi's Ben, a contractor who specializes in technology and has a knack for disproving supernatural phenomena via rational explanations. Rounding out the team with a different perspective and set of skills is Katja Herbers' Kristen, a psychologist who doesn't believe in the supernatural but rather that everything has an explanation in science. However, the more cases the team takes, the more Kristen's core beliefs are challenged.Clearly I adore Evil overall, but one particular element of the show that makes it a must-watch series is Herbers' performance. Not only does she deftly weave through complex cases that put everything the character believes to the test, but she goes all-in when tackling every single ounce of it, and given how many genres and tones Evil spans, that makes for a deliciously wide-ranging performance.Given my enthusiasm for the show and her performance, it probably goes without saying that it was the ultimate treat to welcome Herbers to Collider Ladies Night to discuss her journey from Holland to Hollywood and, of course, what went down in Evil Season 3. Jon's back this week and to be quite honest, may be the reason the boys had the topic for this week, Resident Evil. This is of course is the newest RE content out there, not in the form of a video game but TV Show. Broken into 8 shows, it's attempts to weave a story from two perspectives. We refer to them as "Current" so think 2022 and "Future" which I believe Jon said is 2032. We did drop small spoilers, so be warned. Our views, quite polarizing to an extent. Chris and Shaun were quite honestly "meh" on the show whereas Jon loved it...most of it at least. You could say he is our "resident" expert on the RE franchise. See what I did there?? So, last week remains the greatest set of emails ever written in collectively, but thank you to those in some way who either wrote in via email or discord. Thanks for everyone who checked in on twitch to see us - twitch.tv/weeklygameschat. The chat was awesome! Thank you for....all the things! GAME ON! The Firm™ are back and here to talk all about the Resident Evil announcements from this week. Cardy, Joe and Dale discuss Resident Evil Village, the return of the Mercenaries mode and Resident Evil 4 being remade for VR. Plus, we talk about which games we'd like to see get the "Snyder Cut" treatment as well as Cardy telling you why you should watch Judas and the Black Messiah. Last week's Endless Search returns but this time it's Joe and Dale guessing how many hours Cardy has spent in a selection of games. Some of them have been played for a hideous amount. You have been warned. Remember, if you want to get in touch with the podcast, please do: ign_ukfeedback@ign.com.

Welcome to TheoPop! where we explore Pop-Culture through a theological lens. This week look at the first season of the CBS TV Series, Evil.
On November 23, 2009, a convoy of journalists and members of the Mangudadatu clan were on their way to file the certificate of candidacy of aspiring Maguindanao governor Toto Mangudadatu. But they never made it to their destination. Their bodies were found riddled with bullets; many of them buried in mass graves. 58 people were killed in this massacre—the deadliest attack on Filipino journalists and the worst case of electoral violence in the country—all because the ruthless Ampatuan clan wanted to hold on to their power. This is Super Evil season two, "A Beautiful Place to Die". Coming soon. Super Evil is an Inquirer Podcast, powered by PumaPodcast. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Michael Benson is one of today's most popular true-crime writers. His books--including Betrayal In Blood, Murder In Connecticut, Killer Twins, The Burn Farm, Mommy Deadliest, A Killer's Touch, Evil Season, Watch Mommy Die, A Knife in the Heart, Escape From Dannemora, Nightmare In Rochester, Haunting Homicides and The Devil at Genesee Junction--tell vividly of today's most heinous criminals, and the clever and stalwart lawmen who bring them to justice. He is currently a regular commentator for two true-crime series, Evil Twins and Evil Kin, on the Investigation Discovery (I.D.) channel, and had also made guest appearances on that channel's Evil Stepmoms, Deadly Sins, Southern Fried Homicide, and On the Case with Paula Zahn. The Devil at Genesee Junction, tells the story of his return to the scene of a childhood trauma. Two of his friends were murdered and mutilated near his rural home south of Rochester, N.Y. when he was nine. Those murders were never solved. As an adult and veteran true-crime writer, Benson teamed up with the mother of one of the victims and a local private investigator to heat up that cold case and propel it in a startling new direction. During his three decades as a professional writer, Benson has worked closely with a retired Army Intelligence agent during the tense days after 9/11 for a book about the CIA, and with a retired FBI agent for a book about National Security; co-written two books with a former New York Police Department "Cop of the Year"; explored the Grassy Knoll in Dallas with a former KGB agent while researching his much-acclaimed Who's Who in the JFK Assassination; collaborated efficiently with an astronaut; and covered the Stephen Hayes triple-murder trial in New Haven, Ct., for the New York Post. Stan Against Evil Season 3 Premier Wednesday October 31 Makeup FX Press Conference with Dave Snyder and Mike McCarty from Autonomous FX, Inc. and actor Mike Ignis. https://autonomousfx.com The series stars John C. McGinley as the curmudgeonly retired police sheriff Stan Miller and Janet Varney as Evie Barrett, the current sheriff of Willard’s Mill determined to wipe out the demons that plague their quaint New England Town, along with a slate of all-new guest stars. Currently in production in Atlanta, GA, the third season returns with eight all-new episodes. Stan Against Evil is created by Dana Gould and produced by RadicalMedia. New guest stars coming to Stan Against Evil Season 3 include: Scott Adsit (Big Hero 6, 30 Rock) as Bill, an apathetic demon-plumber who becomes intertwined with the Miller household. Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite, Arrested Development) as Nurse Pickles, a stern, no-nonsense nurse who may not be as helpful as she seems. Matt Braunger (Agent Carter, Up All Night) as Dr. Barlow, an earnest, academic-type surgeon at the local hospital. Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad, Neighbors) as Zach, a character in a popular fictional vampire show who makes a connection with Stan’s daughter Denise. Eddie Pepitone (Old School, The Muppets) as Lenny, a balding, middle-aged townie who, in a prior life, dressed up as a gorilla for local birthday parties. Deborah Baker Jr. and Nate Mooney return to co-star as Denise Miller, Stan’s absent-minded, do-good daughter, and Deputy Leon Drinkwater, Evie’s right-hand man, respectively. David Koechner also returns to guest star as Kenny, Evie’s self-absorbed, oblivious ex-husband. Season 3 picks up immediately after the events of the Season 2 finale, with Stan and Evie back in Willard’s Mill dealing with the consequences of Stan traveling through time to save his dead wife Claire. In doing so, he inadvertently opened a portal between the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead…allowing evil forces to truly take over the town and even some of its inhabitants. Although always the skeptic at first, Stan must work with Evie to once more save the town – even if it means making a literal deal with the devil. Stan Against Evil is created, written and executive produced by Dana Gould, with Tom Lassally also serving as executive producer. RadicalMedia produces the series with Frank Scherma and Justin Wilkes executive producing. Star John C. McGinley also serves as a producer. Stan Against Evil Seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch on iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay and Xbox. Joyce Wishart was living out her life's dream, running her own art gallery in sunny Sarasota, Florida. But that dream ended in nightmare when a deranged drifter named Elton Brutus Murphy walked through the door with a knife in his hand and a voice in his head commanding him to rape and kill. In the space of half an hour, Joyce was dead - brutally mutilated - and the tony arts enclave plunged into terror as a frenzied manhunt ensued. Told in the convicted murderer's own words, a chilling tale of one life spiralling into madness-and another gruesomely cut short. EVIL SEASON-Michael Benson
