The horrible tradition continues for an eighth year as we try to outdo one another in a test of our ability to withstand liquid torture - and this year might be the most spiteful, mean-spirited collection of all. Seizing upon our known flavor aversions, each of us hosts finds something to attack our insecurities and threaten our actual livelihood through a half-blind tasting - all leading to an unimaginable Cuvée of Doom in the end. Also, we live out some mundane horror situations, we raise a few torture legends' jerseys to the rafters, and I'm pretty sure someone is getting sued by the end of this one. Beverages Endured Untitled Art & Speciation Artisan Ales - Michelada (Berliner Weisse-style w/ lime juice, Tabasco sauce, and sea salt) Unpossible Mead Inc. - Pickle-Ӧrt (Bread & butter pickle-inspired mead aged in a Malört barrel) Energy City Brewing - Bistro Strawberry Pineapple Habanero (Flavored Berliner-style Weisse) 450 North Brewing - Bananafinger (Smoothie-style sour w/ banana, candy bars, peanut butter & milk chocolate) Beak & Skiff Orchards - Double Double Toil & Trouble (Candy Corn Hard Cider) Rar Brewing - Out Of Order: Mmm-hmm (American sour w/ cheesecake, butter pecan, pastry cream, and lactose) Twelve5 Beverage Co. - Rebel Berry Crisp Latte (Hard coffee w/ mixed berries) Twisted Pine Brewing Co. - Ghost Face Killah (Chili beer w/ ghost pepper, serrano, jalapeno, habanero, fresno, and anaheim peppers)

Bundle up, because we're guiding you through Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight," a film that transforms the icy backdrop of Wyoming's Teton Range into a fiery crucible of suspense and human intrigue. As we hunker down in Minnie's Haberdashery with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson and Jennifer Jason Leigh, we'll peel back the layers of each character's motives, revealing how their twisted moral codes clash in a symphony of Ennio Morricone's haunting score. With no stone left unturned, your appreciation for Tarantino's artistry will reach new heights as we spotlight the film's visual storytelling, underscored by eclectic soundtrack choices that transport you right into the heart of this brooding narrative.Hold your breath as we recount the deadly dance of suspicion and betrayal within the cabin's close quarters, where tensions boil over like a poisoned pot of coffee. The psychological warfare waged by Major Marquis Warren is dissected, showcasing a masterclass in manipulation set against a backdrop of racial tensions and the bitter chill of the storm outside. The analysis doesn't shy away from the pivotal moments – including a jam session gone awry and a bloody shootout that ratchets up the stakes. With every gunshot and revelation, you'll find yourself entrenched in the complexities of Tarantino's craft, where even the destruction of a genuine antique guitar becomes a touchstone of authentic filmmaking. As the blood-stained snow settles, we reflect on the film's poignant ending, juxtaposing the brutality of the shootout with the quiet irony of its resolution. The conversation takes a turn towards the broader implications of "The Hateful Eight," including its cinematic cousins and the divided opinions it's inspired among audiences. By the end, whether you're a devoted fan or a skeptical onlooker, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of this contentious piece of modern cinema and the powerful impact of its theatrical presentation. So, join me, Travis Dudding, for a journey that's as chilling as it is enlightening, and discover why "The Hateful Eight" stands tall in the pantheon of Tarantino's filmography.Support the showPlease subscribe, rate, and review! Stock Market Investing: Seasonality would suggest the grind higher continues Nothing is standing in the way of a year end melt up or continued grind higher at the very least. A rally of this strength would be described by physics as an irresistible force & only and immovable object could cause a possible pause. You could study technical analysis for years [and I have so what I'm about to write is, in all humility, fact] & never come across the multitude of classic chart pattern breakouts occurring in multiple sectors seemingly unrelated all at once. These price movements are happening on a canvas of a 2 year stealth Bear market. I say "stealth" because Big Cap tech & its overweighting in indexes shielded the innocent from the destruction & 80%ish drawdown in many growth stocks. But now a masterpiece of a Bull market is being painted & still I hear whining about the Magnificent 7 having too much of a pull. So today I offer you a new name for the generals in this unfolding tsunami of a Bull market. I say we add NFLX to the list and call it...wait for it... We've all heard it a million times—you are what you eat. And, of course it's true—every cell in our body relies on and is sustained by the nutrients we ingest. So on a physical level, this reality is obvious. But, the more research I do, the more I realize how much this adage—you are what you eat—pertains to our mental health as well. In some ways, I think about all the work I've done as a psychologist—as many of you know, I've found so much power in cognitive techniques. When we take charge of our thoughts, we take charge of our lives—and, I absolutely stand by cognitive strategies. More importantly though, research substantiates the effectiveness of CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), as we've discussed in many episodes of Love & Life. That being said, how much easier is it for us to take charge of our thoughts if we're fueling our bodies in a way that supports our thinking and emotions? That's why Elliott and I focus on MIND and BODY and SPIRIT. Today's episode is part 2 of my conversation with Dr. Cate Shanahan. If you haven't had the chance to listen to the beginning of our interview, be sure to check out episode 263. Dr. Cate describes why industrial seed oils are one of the worst—if not the absolute worst—substances we can put in our bodies. And of course, because our physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing are inextricably connected, when we eliminate the hateful 8, we'll feel much better emotionally, too! Learn how to eliminate the Hateful 8 to level up your psychological health! In this episode of "Theater Cleaners," Todd and Dom discuss Quentin Tarantino's 2015 Western film "The Hateful 8"The film follows a group of strangers, including a bounty hunter (played by Samuel L. Jackson) and a Confederate soldier (played by Walton Goggins), who seek refuge from a blizzard in a remote cabin in Wyoming. As tensions rise and secrets are revealed, the strangers find themselves embroiled in a deadly game of survival.Todd and Dom analyze the film's unique structure, with its use of chapter breaks and non-linear storytelling, and examine Tarantino's signature style of dialogue-heavy scenes and graphic violence. They discuss the film's themes of justice, revenge, and racism, and how they relate to the larger context of Tarantino's filmography. They also explore the film's stunning cinematography and score, and discuss the impressive performances of the ensemble cast, which includes Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Tim Roth. They examine the film's connections to other Westerns and Tarantino's influences and debate its place in the director's filmography.Join Todd and Dom as they reflect on "The Hateful Eight" and explore why it remains a divisive but fascinating addition to Tarantino's body of work.

This week, we watch Tarantino's eighth film. Drawing heavily from The Thing, this film showcases the director at his most indulgent, with long scenes of dialogue and buckets of blood to rival his other works. Kurt Russell's mustache stars in The Hateful Eight (2015), directed by Quentin Tarantino.
