His band have just had a sold-out tour here in France and played extensively in Germany, the UK and other European countries. Down With Boring is back for its 150th (!!) episode for a new edition of our flagship radio-show-slash-podcast. Bradley Simpson is our special guest, grabbed live and direct from our rammed Dork 100 show last month. That came straight ahead of the release of his debut solo album, ‘The Panic Years', as he steps out as a Proper Concern in his own right. If how that gig went down is anything to go by, he'll do just fine. Meanwhile, we're diving deep into Dork cover stars' Divorce and their debut album ‘Drive To Goldhammer', and blasting through some quality new music from Sports Team, Black Country New Road, Chloe Qisha, HotWax and more.

+++ PLAYLIST +++ · 22:56 – ANKLES von LUCY DACUS · 22:51 – RIDDLES OF MY YOUTH von LAUREL BLOOM · 22:49 – SINGLE FILE LINE von BOLDY JAMES · 22:46 – SUNDAY GIRL von BLONDIE · 22:42 – NARCISSIST von THE TUBS · 22:38 – YOU WERE THE ONES I HAD TO BETRAY von DEAN WAREHAM · 22:35 – WE MUST HAVE BEEN ASLEEP von AINO SALTO · 22:31 – BANG BANG BANG von SPORTS TEAM · 22:28 – OCEAN STEPPIN' von JOHN GLACIER FEAT. Trashed rooms. Plastic sheeting. Dodgy ductwork. When Mike Senior returned to his rental property in Cambridge, he uncovered a scene straight out of a crime drama. In this interview with Olly, he reveals how some tenants from Gumtree turned his Dream Home into a landlord's nightmare… _______ Meanwhile, in the Zeitgeist, Ollie Peart investigates the trend for A.I.-assisted recruitment. Employers, he discovers, are using machine learning to whittle down candidates, read CVs and reduce biases. Applicants are hacking their jobsearch with “prompt engineering”, hidden fonts, and generative interview prep. … Is it still possible to get a job with inter-personal skills and chutzpah? And can he uncover a recipe to beat the bots? _______ Elsewhere, down the Foxhole, Alix Fox - fresh from the ‘You Me Bum Bum Train' building site - has advice for a fifty-something Mannfan whose libido has reduced dramatically. Though physically capable, his emotional and mental energy are drained by health issues, caregiving, and stress. Could counselling, lifestyle changes, and a change of scene help him get his mojo back? And why do so many people seem to believe that if a man can get hard, there's nothing to worry about? _______ Finally, our record of the month is ‘She's Got A Problem' from Hastings rock-trio HotWax

Down With Boring – Dork's sonic sanctuary of chaos and contemplation – returns with enough musical muscle to power a small indie disco (or at least your Monday evening existential crisis). Sunday (1994) are our special guests – a band who've mastered the art of making any emotion sound impossibly beautiful. Their debut EP sits somewhere between a Mazzy Star dream sequence and that film you caught at 3am that changed your life – all hazy romance and perfectly framed heartbreak, turning cinematic aspirations into songs that feel like memories you never knew you had. Meanwhile, we're dissecting Amyl & The Sniffers' ‘Cartoon Darkness' like enthusiastic punk rock pathologists. Amy Taylor and co. have packed more raw energy into the record than a case of banned energy drinks, tackling everything from ecological doom to rebellion that snaps back harder than yesterday's bubblegum. Plus, there's all the usual new music. Tyler, The Creator brings the weird and wonderful (and a word we're becoming a little too fond of repeating), Lady Gaga reminds us why she's pop's most committed method actor, and a who's who of indie's finest – Declan McKenna, Overpass, Hotwax, and Do Nothing – all check in with fresh material.

According to NME: HotWax could be Britain's next great guitar band. They've gained support from Elton John, Louis Tomlinson and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The Guardian, Dork and the Independent have all tipped them as rising stars. The Evening Standard included them in their list of Ones to Watch 2024. Bassist Lola Sam and Vocalist/Guitarist Talulah Sim-Savage met at school in Hastings and then brought drummer Alfie Sayers on board while studying at BIMM. Just back from touring with Royal Blood, they have had a whirlwind 2023. Things only look to move faster so catch them in a city near you if you can. Follow them on Instagram or TikTok. For more music, check out our previous episodes or wait until next week.

Vamos a escuchar: Devils Haircut, Hotwax, Lord Only Knows, The New Pollution, Derelict, Novacane, Jack-Ass, Where It’s At, Minus, Sissyneck, Readymade, High 5 (Rock the Catskills) y Ramshackle.
