Lyn has a unique and different conversation with her ex-partner, Paul Lowe. They discuss the concept of 'consciously' uncoupling and how they have managed to remain close friends after their separation. They emphasise the importance of communication, finding middle ground, and injecting humour into difficult situations. They also introduce the idea of a "love box" where both parties give unconditionally without any expectations. KEY TAKEAWAYS Communication is key in any relationship, especially during the process of being more conscious when uncoupling. Finding a middle ground or a shared entity can help maintain a positive connection after separation. Humour can be a powerful tool to diffuse tension and navigate difficult conversations. The concept of a "love box" suggests giving unconditionally without expecting anything in return. Adopting pets can provide companionship and love during lonely or challenging times. BEST MOMENTS "We're separating, we're parting, we've come to the end of the road. We're conscious of that." "The relationship that we've got from my heart now is extremely sacred." "Consciously uncoupling is separating those emotions out. It's one thing splitting assets, but to split out your emotions, that's a different kettle of fish." "My love for you has actually increased because there's no expectation that we'll be sharing a bed or doing this together as a couple."ABOUT THE GUEST - Paul Lowe - Founder & President of World Game-Changers Paul has made a remarkable transformation from existing for many years in dark, desperate despair; to now living a really healthy, happy and fulfilling life. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by first-time guest Kiran K. Addala to talk about creating lasting legacies, their four stages, and what legacy means to him. KEY TAKEAWAYS Legacy is about the visionary geniuses of the world who are able to think futuristically, have a positive impact on their community or society, and leave strong impressions in our memories. I was amazed when reading in school to hear people talking really highly about certain people, like Mahatma Ghandi or Winston Churchill, about what they had done and the impact they'd had. Parenting gives you great purpose in your life, you're doing something for somebody, making a difference. You face a lot of challenges and you need to commit a lot of time to it, but it's invaluable. Legacy doesn't have to be a very long commitment, it could be as simple as doing something in the street to inspire a group of people who may go and imitate it somewhere else. BEST MOMENTS‘Even the most massive legacy started with one step by one person trying to solve one particular issue'. ‘As an individual, it's very important to continue as a learner. One life is not good enough to become an expert, there's no ending to learning any topic in this world'. ‘The biggest motivation for any individual or corporate is what you're working towards, how you get satisfaction for it, how many people can you influence, what kid of problems can you solve'. ‘You create legacy by shaping people under you who will be able to take up your role and responsibility at some point because they are inspired by you and what you do'. On this episode, Paul is joined by Andrii Svyrydov to talk about technology as it escalates exponentially with the birth of AI, and how it can help humanity. KEY TAKEAWAYS AI will help us to work less than we're working right now, they will be able to spend more time working on their health, families, etc. It's not bad, it's good and things will be even better than now. I believe that work will be changed. It's a good idea to start educating yourself to become an engineer or in IT and other niches. In the next 5 years AI will become a game-changing technology. BEST MOMENTS‘Technology has really helped humanity by helping older people to stay at home rather than in hospitals'. ‘In my industry, around 40% or people will be replaced by AI'. ‘Once we can connect between continents using the internet and technology in milliseconds, the world will become global and we will remove a lot of boundaries between different countries. We could then think about how to achieve getting to Mars and other planets!' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul (as the founder of World Game-Changers) asks the question: What Does It take To Become A World Game-Changer? KEY TAKEAWAYS A world game-changer devotes themselves to a higher purpose, to impact the world and the lives of other for the better. They come from ever walk or life, every nation, ever life circumstance representing diverse experiences with love being the common factor. A world game-changer develops their talents and skills and pursues opportunities to increase their own influence for the greater good. Vulnerability is massive in our world as humans and individuals. I'm not so sure that collectively we give it the respect that it deserves in terms of the part that it plays in our lives with regard to progress. Being prepared to be vulnerable and putting it out there first and taking control of the situation takes the power away from people who would want to exploit your vulnerability against you. BEST MOMENTS‘World Game-Changers intentionally work to improve their end circumstances and the people with who they are associated.' ‘In a world without love what have we got? Simply, an existence. A world without love is, for me, not really a world at all.'‘We prefer to wear a mask of control and self-protection because we don't want people to get close to us and judge us. Be prepared to look at yourself in the mirror.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest Raksha Daryanani to continue their conversation about how storytelling can help us overcome fear. KEY TAKEAWAYS I grew up being told I was an extrovert but, as I grew older, I realized that's not true because when I'm around a lot of people all the time I get exhausted. I like spending time with people but not for extended periods, I need time for decompressing and time alone. Introverts and extroverts can both be great public speakers, it all comes down to what energizes you and how much time you need to decompress. We don't decompress, rest, take time for ourselves enough, and that's becoming increasingly important in the digital age that we live in because more of us are working from home and you can go straight from work to going on social media on the same computer/device, or you can watch TV for hours. The brain is not getting rest. Some communities are more open, engaging, supportive when you are your true self, but others shy away from that and are more closed or reserved and expressions of vulnerability or opening up is frowned upon or met with very little reciprocation. It's something I've noticed moving around in my life. It's good to assess what a culture is like and whether you can fit in and be yourself, if not are you OK with that? It can be quite hard to mask who you are every day. The onus is on both the speaker and the listener to connect to the message. The speaker shouldn't communicate in a way that can be misinterpreted. And, preconceived notions of the listener can block us and create judgement, bias, and an unwelcoming atmosphere for someone trying to convey a message. BEST MOMENTS‘I would like to inject more fun, I often thing I'm a bit serious in my writing, I think starting off on a lighten note engages the reader in your story. It's a real art to make someone laugh with your writing'. ‘If we someone else opening up we soften. These moments where we are our true, whole selves and not putting up any façade are precious and relatable'. ‘There's no way you can guarantee that a person wrote something in a certain tone if you're just reading written text'. ‘When you hear someone tell you something remember there's another side to it if there's someone else involved. Don't make up your mind too fast'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest Keith Amoss to talk about mentally turning the clock back, and finding childlike curiosity, energy and everything that comes with being a young person; whilst amalgamating it with the wisdom of a senior. KEY TAKEAWAYS Old tyres with no tread left get mashed up and turned into material for children's playparks. This is a fabulous concept; taking something that's good and bad (like our childhood experiences), taking the good bits and see how you can use them now as an adult, what have you learned? A while back I met some old school friends after many years, sharing jokes and stories on Facebook. We decided to meet up in Canada. One guy used to be the cool guy who everyone looked up to and idolised, another was into motorcycling and was a bit of greaser, and I was a bit middle-of-the-road listening to David Bowie and being abstract. When we got together we didn't stop talking and were at ease in each other's company and we managed to think of a few incidences from our school days and our perspectives were different, especially about each other. Perhaps we should ask people we've known over the years “what did you think/make of me?”, but that's a very difficult question to ask people. Relatively speaking, the type of person that you were as a younger person/teenager, whether that's generous, kind, giving, supportive, friendly, it's still there throughout your life. Where you see examples of that is when you see people with genuinely childlike qualities in the way they act as an adult. Humour is classic case. You can recycle yourself, but you need to know that things that you need to drop from your teenage years, the things that cause you pain, the things that you need to overcome, the self-work you need to do, and take the good bits. How do we prevent ourselves from wallowing in the past? There is a risk that you look back and see them as the good old days when you were confident and you had everything going for you, you were happy and had so much to offer. It's both quite complicated but also extremely simple to live in the moment. You also need to be spending about 20% of your time living in the future though, because you need to pay the bills, plan and book trips, etc. However, you're doing all that stuff today. BEST MOMENTS‘We're all tarins going through other peoples' stations; we go through, we stop for a while, they see a little bit of us, and then we move on'. ‘It's not what you say, it's what you make someone feel that counts'. ‘The concept of the recycled teenager in essence is about recalling the past and having the memory, but without having particularly the negative emotion that was associated with things that went on'. ‘We make assumptions that people, when they're older, have got it, they understand it, they know what's going on, they don't get nervous, they've got their act together. Talking to my father who's in his 80s you realise that even though you've been through a lot of life you still don't understand how things work, you're still uncertain, you can still have all those emotions of nervousness, uncertainty and fear'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Richard Gerver to talk about their relationships with school & education, and how that's changed over the years. KEY TAKEAWAYS When I look back to my education, and when people remind me of my first career as a teacher and headteacher, when I left school at 18 I never wanted to go back into school ever again in my entire life, ever. I felt like a misfit. Arguably I was very privileged, my parents and my grandparents sold their homes and sacrificed everything to send me to a private school because it was their dream to provide me with the very best education they could. This added a considerable amount of pressure on me, especially as an older teenager, because I knew what they'd sacrificed, so how could I tell them that I hated it? When I chose to become a teacher later – for the love of a young woman – in my very early 20s, that was when I first began to process my own experience more objectively. Rather than taking my reflex judgement of hating it in the moment and it made me a worse person for whatever reason, I was able to start to understand and unpick the learning I'd taken from that experience without even knowing it and reflected on, despite everything I felt at the time, how lucky I was to have been in that environment. One of the things that we should become more and more aware of as we go through life, which I think is really pertinent in the divided and angry world we live in right now where people's beliefs are shaped by their own lived experience and context, the wiser among us realize that actually to grow, evolve, learn, develop, find peace with the world, your world and the world around you, you have to be open minded enough to realize and respect that you need to be active in shaping, challenging and developing your beliefs. It's only by broadening your own horizons, contexts and experiences that your beliefs become increasingly rounded. So many conflicts, from the smallest to the most horrific, people become increasingly deaf to other opinions, values, other people's experiences and almost do so just to protect their own viewpoint. Partly that's been amplified by the fact we're now living in a digital world where social media through algorithm and the way we build walls around our own content means that we tend to live in increasingly siloed environments. We're living in a world of what I call curated ignorance and I think it creates a dangerous environment, especially for our younger folk, where they can't see why they would ever look outside of their own belief system because of the confirmation biases that are constantly circulating and fired at them. Then what happens is when they have a like-minded cabal around them, it's very easy for sophisticated manipulators in that cabal to say: “Anybody who disagrees with you is bad, evil, has your worst interests at heart. I think that's happened throughout history, but it's more pronounced and more dangerous now because of the digital space which preoccupies so much of our lives. BEST MOMENTS‘As a child, I was immensely creative. I was a writer, an actor, and artist; I went to an all-boys school that was highly academic, highly sports focused – particularly rugby'. ‘There's no such thing as a bad experience if you process it in the right way, and learn from it'. ‘Beliefs can only ever be shaped by your lived experience'. ‘We talk a lot about the wisdom of elders; every time an old person dies a library burns down'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined again by Wayne Donnelly for a third and final episode of this mini-series to talk about how powerful the mind is, and how you can use it to change your life. KEY TAKEAWAYS We're brought up in a certain paradigms, if I was born anywhere other than Australia I'd have different realities. The life we're living now we think it's reality, the perceptions and belief systems we have, but at some times in life we're hit with something which makes us question our current reality. We then shift into a different reality, we wake up and go into a different dream as we go through different things in life. If we're fortunate we have things that wake us up so we can advance or progress our life. I commuted hours each way during the week and when I had my kids I wouldn't see them unless it was the middle of the night and they were having their feed or at the weekends. Is that life? Is that how life's supposed to be? To go to work and pay the bills? When you question it you come into a new reality where I started my own business as an accountant. Different things have occurred since then that have seen my become a hypnotherapist, a coach, and someone who changes lives because of the things I been through, experienced and learned. Awareness precedes a change in behaviour, but is that awareness internal or external? You might wake up one morning and ask: “Is this all there is?” and then you start looking for the answers and you can use your conscious mind to make changes in your unconscious, because you're deliberately doing it from awareness and experiences. Or, you could have something that changes your life that redirects you and you can grow and facilitate changes consciously. Some people would say that we are an expression of Source/Universe/God experiencing this reality so that the intangible can have a tangible experience. Is everything one and we're part of an incredibly limitless One? We're everything in our own body and yet we're all one. It's the type of question that could open an awareness and awakening to there is more than just this body; if I lose a finger or a leg I'm still Wayne, but who is Wayne? BEST MOMENTS‘The life we live is like a dream, and then we wake up and change and go to a different dream'. ‘The difference between a rut and a grave is the depth'. ‘We're not a drop in the ocean, we're the ocean in a drop'. ‘By tapping into our own consciousness or the universal consciousness we can create the reality that we'd like to have'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined again by Kristin Johnson to continue their conversation about the TV series Poldark and its storylines, specifically in this episode: Trust in romantic relationships. This conversation may contain spoilers. KEY TAKEAWAYS It's romantic in the sense that there's this rugged individualism yet there's a big community with a big sense of duty and responsibility and self-sacrifice that is very romantic and heroic. But it's also about the beauty, the nature, the longing of the spirit and a longing for refinement. As with certain aspects of today, it boils over into class envy with the haves, and have-nots. Having never experienced this personally, psychologists say that you can heal from trust being broken by an affair but it takes a long time and some people maybe never really forget or are able to forgive at all, but it does happen. Elizabeth loves Francis, Ross' cousin, but at the same time it's not what she feels for Ross and never can be because it's a different kind of love. She builds a home and a family with Francis and when he dies it's like something snaps within Ross, which isn't grief over Francis – although he is sad – it's more like his chance is here and he loses his head and totally forgets Demelza who knows where he's going. Even the bluntest of us can really have a hard time expressing what's going on. You have to trust yourself and that you're doing the right things at the right time for the right reasons, even if they might not make sense and even if things are hard. Especially you have to trust that your cause is just. Ross knows that what he's doing against the French is the right thing, he's fighting for his country and its interests like he always has. BEST MOMENTS‘Ross Poldark is a very romantic hero because he's taking up such a big cause for his community'. ‘Demelza has a big heart and Elizabeth understands that, I think Demelza comes to like and respect Elizabeth but at the same time she's always going to wonder “am I first in Ross' mind”, and that betrayal stings because Elizabeth is the love of Ross' life and she came first'. ‘Men crave sex and women crave love (I think that's an over-generalization, but there is some truth it that)'. ‘Poldark is more than just a wonderful period drama with wonderful costumes… it's about the human heart in conflict with itself, that's why it's lasting'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by first-time guest a freelance creative story-teller, Raksha Daryanani, to talk about how storytelling can help us to overcome fear, specifically the growing fear of AI. KEY TAKEAWAYS At university I was told that I had a flair for writing, so I started experimenting and went from writing admissions essays to CVs to recommendation letters, basic communications that anyone would need help with. Then, when the pandemic struck, I started writing on LinkedIn, sharing stories of working in HR about miscommunication, biases, the moments I didn't feel adept at what I was doing, as well as personal stories of how I overcame challenges as a professional, as a human being, as a person of colour. It was great to see the traction of my personal stories where I'd learned something and could share it with someone else who may have a shared experience or learned something from it. Most behaviour stems from unresolved traumas, unhealed moments in our lives which we then project on to other people. But, the more we are aware, the more we grow, the more we understand why something happened – even if it was unfair, because a lot of things that happen to us are unfair – id that really an excuse to ill-treat or label others? Is it really an excuse to say “you're not one of us”? It's a delicate balance between emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence and basic common sense. If I do to you what you do to me, how am I any different? The first generation that migrates doesn't have the resources, usually, and the awareness to work on unresolved traumas because they're too busy making a living and surviving. The second generation is usually the one that has a bit more time and awareness and the safety net to come out of survival mode to think about their personal development, fulfilment and the likes. This lines up with Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Before you have the moment where you awaken or you have a change of mind, there is a phase where you feel distraught and unable to help yourself, much like a victim. I've been there and it really shaped how I saw things. I felt helpless and that the world was a really bad place, that my good intentions were never being met, so it was a me vs the world thought process. In my early 20s, the realization hit that I don't have to be a victim of my circumstances and I don't have to suffer and tell myself I'm losing out and that things happen to, not for me. Changing that narrative helped me to do things and say I tried rather than I'll fail no matter whether I try or not. BEST MOMENTS‘We all have something we can't help, what happened to us is not an excuse to not work on our traumas'. ‘We are all good on the inside, that's what's going to get you further'. ‘The worst things can happen to us because we're not aware of the boundaries we can have, the boundaries we can set, the way we can speak up, and make choices that empower us'. ‘Either you are Superman or you are the victim, but you chose that narrative in your mind'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest and sometime co-host Kristin Johnson to talk about quite a provocative title, but effectively boils down to the book and, more specifically, the TV series ‘Poldark' - it may contain spoilers. KEY TAKEAWAYS If you look at the principles of drama, going back to Shakespeare, of conflict and the human heart in conflict with itself and the tragic flaw/hero from Greek drama, they've stood the test of time. The chief antagonist of the series is a tragic character, but is more complex than a cardboard cutout, moustache-twirling villain – those are boring, people aren't really like that, the worst people in history have reasons for what they do. Most people are complex. There's a dilemma for me, and it's being torn between two lovers. Ross, as much as he loved Demelza, never let go of Elizabeth. Moral dilemma might not be the right term for loving two people. Is it possible for us to love two people? Is it morally right? People have needs and wants and you may or may not act on them, what the series explores is what happens when you do. It's realistic in the terms of the complications the love triangle between Ross, Demelza and Elizabeth presents for various characters and how they react to something like this. Can you love two people? Absolutely. Should you? That's the question, and the series doesn't necessarily answers that questions decisively. Elizabeth befriends the woman that's a romantic rival, Demelza, because despite their differences in social class those two women connect on a deep level. I think that, if Ross wasn't in the picture, they would be good friends. Ross is a guy that really thinks he can do it all, he's really old school in that he wants to manage everything himself. But he learns to depend on Demelza, and trust her to manage his affairs. He puts her in a higher status and esteem as a community leader than she would have been before. Throughout the series she becomes that community leader. That shows a trust, not just in terms of the romantic sense, but the trust that you have to rely on people when life has dealt you a lot of blows. BEST MOMENTS ‘240 years on from the American War of Independence here we are, a British and American chatting like equals'. ‘If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with'. ‘The game of life is a simple one, but we human players are complex'. ‘We all love the romantic, attraction, sizzle, chemistry, bodice-ripper romance, but the best relationships really have that foundation of friendship, respect and commonality'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined again by Wayne Donnelly for a second episode of this mini-series to talk about how powerful the mind is, and how you can use it to change your life. KEY TAKEAWAYS The old saying is: Whatever we believe to be true is true for us. But when you ask a man who he is, he normally comes back with his job title. Pulling off that layer, I'm a husband. Pull off that layer, I'm a father. Pull off that layer, I'm a sibling. They're parts that you play in your life, but they're not who you are. Who are you really and why are you here? It all comes back to the image that's inside and the beliefs that they hold of themselves. While they believe that to be true it will stay the same and will only change when their beliefs change. We can access that unconscious/subconscious/other-than-conscious mind so that we can break that pathway and remake it into what it is that that person wants to achieve, whether that's income, health, relationships, scholarly achievements, whatever. “Well-formed outcomes” are where I work with people to create a picture or movie of their desired outcome and load it with symbols and emotions which will magnetise the unconscious mind to take you there. You use the power of the unconscious mind and the steering and direction of the conscious mind. Some people's subconscious will pop out without them thinking, we call it a Freudian Slip, and they're sending you a message of what they think about themselves. At a surfing beach the other day I was invited over by some younger blokes and the first thing that came out of my mouth, before I could even think or stop it was: “My glory days are over”. How's that for preventing me from having one of the best surfs of my life. Listen to what people say after “I am…”, they may say things in jest, but there's a lot of truth in jest. I make sure I use different words when I get out surfing these days. BEST MOMENTS ‘You cannot outperform your beliefs about yourself. If you think you're royalty you will perform exactly to what that belief is you have about royalty. Or, if you believe you can only earn a certain amount of income, that's all you're going to earn'. ‘We have to raise the belief so we can raise the performance'. ‘We buy with emotions and use logic to justify after! The subconscious mind has power, once the programs are in there they're going to go, but it has no ability to set the direction. The conscious mind however, can chose the goal we would like to have'. ‘We have to be very careful of the words that we utter because the unconscious will pick that up as a command'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by first-time guest Wayne Donnelly to talk about how powerful the mind is and how you can use it to change your life. KEY TAKEAWAYS My work is in behavioural change, and I use tools like hypnosis and neural linguistic programming. When clients come to me with an issue, I help them to change the way they think so that they approach life differently so that when they do change their minds, they can change their lives and what's happening in their world. People come along for many different reasons; they might go on the coaching journey with me, or they might just come for a couple of sessions of hypnotherapy and change. It could be that they're a smoker wanting to quit, and certainly when they've changed their mind, their identity, and their belief about themselves, they can go from being a smoker to someone who pursues health. The same with weight loss and many other things besides PTSD, stress and anxiety, and phobias (flying, snakes, spiders). In the entrepreneurial/business space there's a saying that the business is a reflection of the owner – if the business isn't doing well, something needs to be adjusted in the mindset of the owner. When we work on that we can lift their belief in themselves and we can change what they're doing with the business. We can get caught up in thinking that reality is what we see around us and that our circumstances are dictating to us what we think and what believe is real. If we flip that around – and for a lot of people this will be challenging – regardless of what the circumstances are in our life, we can believe that things are favourable: Whatever we believe to be true is true for us. BEST MOMENTS ‘Their altitude is determined by their attitude: If they come in with a certain approach, they get a certain result. It all comes down to self-image and self-worth'. ‘When the traumas from your past no longer have any control over you then you're free to create the ideal version of yourself'. ‘Drinking to overcome your problems only creates more problems'. ‘There's an old saying: “We get more of what we focus on”. Focus on the future of what you're creating, not: What happened in the past? Why did it happen? Why did we respond to those certain events in the past?' Paul engages in a conversation with Daniel Gasser and Kristen Johnson about the possibilities and implications of artificial intelligence (AI). They discuss the role of AI in mental health, including the use of AI chatbots like PI. They explore the idea of AI as a tool for therapy and coaching, acknowledging that while AI can provide support, it cannot replace the human connection and intuition that comes with working with a real person. The conversation also touches on the potential of AI in music and the importance of vulnerability in human experiences. KEY TAKEAWAYS AI can be a powerful tool in various fields, including mental health and coaching. It can provide support and assistance, but it is not a replacement for human interaction and emotional intelligence. The fear of AI taking over jobs and replacing humans is not entirely justified. While AI is evolving and becoming more advanced, there are still limitations to what it can do. Human skills, such as vulnerability and intuition, cannot be replicated by AI. Vulnerability is a strength and a powerful tool for connection. Being open and authentic allows for deeper connections and understanding between individuals. AI cannot replicate the emotional depth and connection that comes from human vulnerability. Music is a universal language that resonates with humans on an emotional level. While AI can assist in composing music, it lacks the imperfections and human touch that make music truly powerful and moving. Embracing AI means exploring its possibilities and using it as a tool to enhance our lives. It is important to experiment and see how AI can be beneficial, but also to be discerning and recognize its limitations. Ultimately, humans have the ability to shape and control the use of AI. BEST MOMENTS "If we use it right, it's an amazing tool that never has been here before." - Daniel Gasser "Being vulnerable is one of our greatest powers and it's one of our greatest love-creating energy we have." - Daniel Gasser "There is this whole thing, particularly within the more masculine energy, so easy to coin the phrase, big boys don't cry, what have you. But what a gift to be vulnerable and to actually go out there to the outside world and say, this is it." - Paul D. Lowe "But the real interesting part of it in science fiction, Daniel, isn't that the case that it's more interesting when the AI is trying to learn something that is outside of its comfort zone, like understanding emotions?" - Kristen Johnson "So play around with AI. Do it. Use it. And you will see where it leads you. And you will see if it helps you or not. If it doesn't help you, kick it in the bin." - Daniel Gasser VALUABLE RESOURCES Paul's Story: Emerging From The Forest (UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Emerging-Forest-Pain-Purpose-Mastering/dp/1719373272 Paul's Story: Emerging From The Forest (USA): https://www.amazon.com/Emerging-Forest-Pain-Purpose-Mastering/dp/1719373272 Mastering The Game Of Life Book (UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Game-Life-Paul-Lowe/dp/1782227679 Mastering The Game Of Life Book (USA): https://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Game-Life-Paul-Lowe/dp/1782227679 Speaking From Our Hearts Books: Volumes 1-3 (Available on Amazon) World Game-Changers Group ABOUT THE GUESTSKristin Johnson is a prize-winning/ prize-finalist writer, blogger, ghost-writing/ creative writing consultant, screenwriter, and editor. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Kristin Johnson are joined by Daniel Gasser to talk about how we, as humans, can embrace AI and the unknowns that come with it. KEY TAKEAWAYS Most of us don't deal well with the unknown, which is a shame because our brains and our whole being is built for the unknown. As soon as we come out of our mothers it's unknown, the whole of life is unknown and, the older I get the more I ask myself: Is it really human nature to fear the unknown or are we just trained by the system and ‘value givers' that we should fear the unknown? We're born curious otherwise we wouldn't learn to walk or speak, anything. My guess is that we're not afraid of it, we're told to be afraid of it. Some people preach that every new technology is dangerous. When steam trains were developed, seriously intelligent people said that if you travel faster than 100mph your face will be ripped off your skull. They were taken seriously and people would say they'd never take a train, it's the same with people fearing ChatGPT will take over their jobs. Trains did take over some jobs, but they created a whole lot of new jobs and industries too. I used ChatGPT and realised that this thing is cool! The fear went, and the more I interact with AI, the more I use tools built with AI, the more I also make money with it – yes,, I make money with it, I'm a businessman as well as a coach. The more I dive into it the more I see what it is today and what it could look like tomorrow. But, I'm still way more divine and creative as a human being than this little machine with a stack of data interpretation is ever going to be. Use it or don't, but fear never brings anything good. When we're in a fearful state, we shut down our creativity, spirituality, and our love, we reduce ourselves to an animal, to fight or flight. Knowing that, I can ask myself what I have to do in my mind and emotionally to overcome fear and become emotionally intelligent again? For the emotional part; calm down, meditate, get out of the way in your mind and you'll find the fear fades away slowly but surely and you can think and be creative and function again. The better your emotions become, you become emotionally and otherwise intelligent again. BEST MOMENTS‘We're all assuming that it's going to be very bad, that AI is going to eat us alive, take our jobs, take over our lives, do everything. Why are we always assuming the worst?' ‘Need to change our mindset to maybe plan for the worst but expect the best'. ‘I was frightened to death when AI came out, but then I remembered that fear is not a good advisor and the best remedy for fear is taking action'. ‘Our planet is in such a bad state because, collectively, we're negative'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined once more by Kristin Johnson and Marc ‘Spanky' Reid to further discuss a BETTR life this time through the lens of prosperity. KEY TAKEAWAYS At my current age, my view on prosperity is certainly different to what it was as a teenager and a young dad. Today, the one word that jumps out at me now to do with prosperity is ‘time'. Depending on where you are in the world, we have a system in place that unfortunately we have to exchange time for money to provide for our families and put food on the table. If we had an opportunity to buy back some of that time back by increasing our income, would we take it? 97% of people live pay check to paycheck and are not in a position where they can offer whatever means they are able to use to gain wealth and get their finances in order to get back their time. If a larger percentage of the population had the opportunity to leverage the little extra time that they have to purchase back some prosperity time in the future, I'd ask would they take advantage of that opportunity. Can you physically do things like working out and taking care of yourself to have a better life? Is there mental health that you could seek out to help you? Mental health is a big thing these days. All of these things are available on the Bettr platform to help anyone and everyone that wants to be part of that community because they don't require a licence. We have people who have made seven figures for the first time in their lives after just 12 months of production as well as people making six figures a month. This is all from a free platform which is 100% referral. BEST MOMENTS ‘If you have ‘time freedom' most likely your finances are in place, you're not worried about income coming in, maybe you have money working and making more money on the side – that's prosperity.' ‘Being able to give of your time for someone that's in need – that's prosperity.' ‘Money is talked about almost more than anything else in the Bible – money and love – and I think it's because we sometimes think money will solve all problems.' ‘Connect with people who are moving in the same direction that you want to move in, do what they do and you'll get what they've got.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined once more by Kristin Johnson and Marc ‘Spanky' Reid to further discuss the ‘what' and the ‘how' of BETTR networks, and how they can help people achieve their goals for a better world and a better life. KEY TAKEAWAYS During Covid the government had a choice: Either put restrictions in place and have tens of millions of people filing for unemployment overnight – what would that have done to the economy and our country? – or create employee retention credit to reward businesses for digging in their pockets to keep their employees. So, in the beginning they had ERC and PPP loans and you could only apply for one as a business owner, and just about everybody went PPP. In 2021 the law was changed in ERC to allow them to apply for both as long as the PPP was forgiven. We don't charge people to find out f they can claim that money back, but we had a client recently who was told he couldn't apply for it and we got him $13.5million through ERC. You have the option to file to see if your eligible, or let the government have those funds. You feel like you're the hero of your community, you give back to your community $25-100million through this programme, no matter where you go, you're going to be looked at as a hero because you've drastically impacted those lives, your employees and businesses. It's a beautiful thing to be able to offer that service to people. What happens when you have a family that's paying $1000 and you can save them 40%? They have an extra $400 a month that they can allocate towards other things for that family. It's a big deal what Clearwater is doing. BEST MOMENTS ‘We can start to build you a legacy for your family, for employee's families, and we can show you what that looks like financially.'‘About 78% of people in the US are living pay cheque to pay cheque, 85% of them don't like the job they currently have. If you can help a family open up $400-500 it relieves so much stress.'‘I have a fear of needles, it's definitely easier for me to spend 5-10 minutes with Clearwater to check my coverage and see if they can get me better coverage than it is to go and get my blood drawn!' Paul explores the question of what is missing from having a better life. Joined by executive director Kristen Johnson and guest Marc 'Spanky' Reed, they delve into the concept of a "Bettr" life and how it can be achieved. Marc shares his experiences with a platform called Bettr, which aims to make a positive impact on communities and individuals by providing opportunities for income and personal growth. The conversation touches on the importance of legacy, storytelling, and the power of imagination in creating a better world. Listeners are encouraged to embrace their inner childlike curiosity, and take action to make a difference in their own lives and communities. KEY TAKEAWAYS The concept of a "Bettr " life involves more than just financial success. It encompasses better relationships, health, wellness, and experiences. The legacy we leave behind is an important aspect of a better life. It involves making a positive impact on others, especially those who are less fortunate, and contributing to our communities. Imagination and storytelling play a significant role in creating a better life. They have the power to inspire, transform, and bring hope to individuals and communities. Taking action and being intentional about pursuing a better life is crucial. It requires tapping into our childlike curiosity, embracing vulnerability, and having the courage to go after our dreams. The power of music and song should not be underestimated. It has the ability to connect people, engage the brain, touch the heart, and bring about positive change. BEST MOMENTS "Do you feel that the multi-gazillionaires, these billionaires, these large corporations have done an over-the-top job of taking care of the little people, some of those little people that can't take care of themselves?" - Marc "For someone to get to that point, just kind of be okay with who they are, who their source God created them to be." - Marc "Imagination is more important than knowledge." - Albert Einstein "Being able to identify 'why?', is just a really powerful thing." - Kristin "Remember the world's changing. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson and Maxine Clark to talk about equality. KEY TAKEAWAYS Equality is something that we're born with, it's our birthright, but depending on the circumstances it doesn't always show up. But it is something that is ingrained in the human condition, and I passionately believe in it. When I was a child my mother was a civil rights activist who had worked during WWII for Eleanor Roosevelt as a secretary who traveled with her and my Mum learned a lot from her, When she moved back to Miami after Franklin died, she married my Father and she and several of her friends started a school for children with Down's Syndrome to stop them being put in asylums. That was my introduction to the idea that we all have something to contribute and a reason for being on this planet. Growing up when I did in the 50s and 60s it was much more equitable, there was a much larger middle class, you had people in your neighbourhood who were doctors, lawyers, policemen, truck drivers, my father was an electrician. You didn't know what people made, you didn't know their politics, you just lived in a neighbourhood with people, humans, friends, dogs and cats, and all the other things that go along with being a child in those days. I feel like we're all craving that connection, that needing to be seen as a person not as a skin colour, a gender, as tall or short, not as 17 or 75 years old, but as a human being that has something to contribute. That's how my family lived, I didn't know there were differences in people just because they looked different than me – everybody looked different than me. I have a million questions when I meet someone: Where did you come from? How long have you lived here? How many times have you moved? In asking questions you find common ground and by listening and not talking yourself you find out so much about life and you didn't have to do it yourself, you can live through someone else's experiences. That's how I see it: I'm a problem solver, like both my Mum and Dad, if something's broken and I know there's a solution somewhere – or I don't know yet and I want to see if somebody else is fixing it properly – I'll go and do that, or I'll bring people together to do it. BEST MOMENTS ‘Equality is giving everyone a chance no matter where they start from, where they come from, it's the American Dream and a dream throughout the world.'‘We all want to be safe, we all want to have friends, we all want to live in a nice home in a nice street where there's good schools, shopping and transportation.'‘We have so much potential in each of us.'‘Our job is to make sure that we see everybody as an individual.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson and first time guest, Ken Cella, to talk about values, more specifically, a fascinating conversation about the value of values. KEY TAKEAWAYS What's unique about the contribution that we seek to make in the lives of our clients is it's really more of a relationship. One of partnering together to have an impact, to help people achieve the goals that are most important to them, and that comes along with a lot of deep discovery, understanding people and what's important to them. There are common themes: People are very focused on their family, their health, having a life that helps them to achieve their purpose and to live out that purpose, and having the financial resources to make the first 3 things happen. I strive to meet people where they're at, and try understand their perspective, try to be open and curious and committed to learning always. I'm always working to be a better listener to understand where people are coming from. It's a continuous learning journey and not a place I've arrived yet. When you do listen deeply, when you do have compassion for others, and you have flexibility in your belief system that allows you to anchor to what's most important but to be open to new perspectives, that serves people well, it's certainly served me well. BEST MOMENTS ‘Oftentimes, when we talk to someone about their future, it's not something they've spent a lot of time discussing with anyone ever, so there's quite a journey there.'‘It's a privilege to serve.' ‘I try to start every day with a sense of gratitude for all the things that are in my life that are intentionally there and that I'm blessed to have in my life. Those are the things that drive me to then go out and do the kinds of things that I feel called to do.' ‘Listening is really about respect for the other person and having a sense of appreciation for really wanting to understand them, because it's just not human nature to want to do that. It's a lot easier to share what's on your mind than it is to truly understand someone else.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson, Dr Keith Amoss, and Paul Clark to talk about the enigmatic topic of hope. KEY TAKEAWAYS If you've got hope then you don't have fear, and if you lose hope then fear immediately comes in and fills that void. I'm a career coach so I work with a lot of people who have just lost their jobs. They may well be very good at their profession, but when they arrive on my doorstep they are hopeless. One of the big problems with that is they associate hopelessness with uselessness. It's really important to re-instill the idea that it's not all finished, you're just in a bad spot. Let's be hopeful, because many other people have managed in the past, there's no reason why you can't. Hope has always got that outcome that, potentially, you're wishing for the best, but it just might not happen. Depending on the degree of your faith – and there is a difference – faith would say (if it's strong enough) everything will be OK. Hope is powerful. Victor Frankel, a psychologist in the Auschwitz concentration camp wrote Man's Search For Meaning, and what he did was observed the prisoners, those that gave up perished and those that had something to live for and a hope that they would be released back into the outside world and do what it was that they wanted to really do again. That kept them alive. It's incredibly powerful, not wishy-washy at all. I train a girl with severe mental health issues and she loves coming to the gym and I can see it in her; she hopes to do an event next year, she hopes to raise money for charity, she's hoping she can do these things to push past her mental health barrier. BEST MOMENTS‘When you say “hope” you assume it's a down and out feeling – where you need to find hope – but, if you hone in on hope it's a good thing'. ‘It does take some action, hope is not just sitting there and waiting'. ‘On British TV shows hope isn't the main factor in the characters' journeys, they're the underdog and remain the underdog and we laugh at that. On US TV shows 9/10 the underdog wins, they thrive off hope. This doesn't happen for British people'. ‘I was going to say the only expert on hop is Bob, but that would be showing my age!' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson and Jim Maher to talk about perceptions of wealth and whether real wealth is material or personal. KEY TAKEAWAYS You really get to a lot of people's core values when you understand how they perceive wealth. Is their driving factor accumulation or is it about something more like giving back? In our organisation and in my family it's the exact same core values: Help others, become more, share success. Delayed gratification is such an important behavioural characteristic for people to grow in life. It goes beyond accumulating wealth. The things where people (especially children) get in trouble is credit. Our society is very predatory, when they sign you up for credit cards it's about instant gratification rather than physically handing over something that you've earned. We're afraid to teach values in the classroom and engage in those types of conversations. So, the very organisations that were the fabric of what taught children and families values and held them to a standard as to how they lived and what they did in their communities and how they were viewed in those religious organisations, especially after Covid, it's shocking what has happened demographically. There were good things that came from Covid. The healthy cost to society as a whole, despite the millions of people that died around the world, the one thing that in every part of the world was that family became stronger. That was something that we'd lost for a long time and I think that interconnection there was substantially rebuilt. BEST MOMENTS‘The very best thing you can do for the world is to make the most of yourself'. ‘Wealth is not just about the dollar, it's about how we use those resources and what those dollars do'. ‘Wealth is such a variety of things, but wealth is also the totality of life. It's making a difference, making a contribution'. ‘There's value in terms of wealth and there are values in terms of keeping your word, punctuality, etc. There is also trust, which is both a financial term and the glue that makes our society go'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson and Tim Eby to talk about inclusion and how to approach the subject with an open heart. KEY TAKEAWAYS At times inclusivity is overthought. For me, at least, it really comes down to the idea of belonging. It's about the idea that if you're recognised, rewarded and respected in whatever aspect of your role either in your work life or your personal life. Belonging and feeling welcome is key to this. I come to my role as executive director of the Special Education Foundation with a passion for helping kids and people with disabilities in many ways because of my own personal experience: I have 3 daughters, the oldest is neurotypical and a special education teacher, the two younger ones are on the autism spectrum. Having raised them I have a little understanding about the world of neurodiversity. But the SEF helps children with all disabilities and our goal is to create the independence for a student to be able to succeed inside and outside of school. If you are around people that have challenges (mental, physical or financial) you start to understand that they are very bright, they may just express it differently. For example, one of the strengths of people with dyslexia is that they can see the big picture and many actors – and even Einstein – was dyslexic. Many people that have ADHD or autism are very successful because they've been given the resources to be able to do that and had an environment that made them feel safe, not everybody has that especially now with all the economic challenges. Life can change in a heartbeat and you never know what impact you're going to have, what that one act of kindness is going to do. At the very least it can prove to someone that they're not alone and give them the strength to fight another day because they know they've got someone on their team. BEST MOMENTS‘There's such a power in believing the idea that we all deserve to belong in our world and that people accept you for who you are no matter who you are'. ‘We all want to feel seen, heard, understood, safe, supported, and also, we want to grow. Inclusiveness provides a space for us to grow'. ‘Parenting is a tremendous commitment anyway, but to help these children succeed even as they enter adulthood is hugely important and empowering, not just for the kids but for the parents as well'. ‘Inclusivity helps everyone better understand the world that they're in and to recognise and reward the difference that we all have'. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Aimee Mosco, Kristin Johnson and Martin Leifeld to talk about the topic of leadership in action, especially with regard to the work they all do in the World Game-Changers organisation as well as in their personal lives. KEY TAKEAWAYS Every human being is a leader, you can't help but lead, even if you lead people in the wrong direction. We all have the gift of influence and by exercising our personalities and talents, whether we're aware of it or not, provides leadership, direction, or presents choices to people. What do we do with it? There are certainly lots of people leading the world in wrong, mixed or confusing directions today and there's never been more of a need for extraordinary leaders that lead virtuously as servant leaders. Servant leadership puts the primary on developing people and accomplishing goals together as opposed to old school, autocratic leadership, leading with an iron fist, it's a different model that empowers people to lead as you serve an organisation or a mission and so on. We are all leaders in our own way. We are leaders within our families, places of work, communities, local sports team, church, what have you. There are all kinds of leadership, not just being elected to office or who raises enough money, sometimes the person with the most influence is not the person with the biggest title or loudest voice, sometimes they're someone you wouldn't expect. They are the people that people look to and trust. When people trust someone that's everything. Real leadership is about trusting yourself, which is a very hard thing to do. Leadership is so important because we thrive when we're in a structured environment. That's not to say that we need to map out every single detail before we step forward because we're creative beings. But, we feel more comfortable with some sort of structure or container within which to operate. And there's a different between that autocratic structure where you can't think for yourself and challenging the status quo is not welcome, we talking about a space for people to grow because real leaders aren't threatened when people grow. BEST MOMENTS ‘Leadership starts with a commitment to accept that you're a leader or that you can influence the world for the better and then to develop yourself so that you can have virtuous or great impact.'‘There are degrees of leadership; responsible and mindless and all of us are really looking to develop ourselves. To become a responsible leader, it requires that you expand your level of awareness.'‘To trust ourselves and more importantly to trust other people is a huge leap, it's one of the most simple and complex things that we'll ever do.'‘Great leaders want their people to grow because that's good for everyone. You can always tell someone is really insecure in their power because they are threatened by the slightest dissention.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca are joined by returning guest, Bob Conlin about relationships in both a broad and intimate sense. KEY TAKEAWAYS We are in relationship with everything and everyone, there's a give and take to everything be that nature, other people, stories, impact, whatever. The opportunity to really explore and understand is: What is my impact to those relationships? How am I impacting those that I love, those that I lead, my environment so that it supports an experience of life that I want? Fundamentally all of the expression of our experience of life is filtered through understanding the relationship that you have with yourself. The relationship wit ourself is the genesis for our ability to experience Source, God, Spirit, Universe, whatever you want to call it, and our relationship to self is always how we're going to experience others, life and everything else. There's a relationship to self, source and others and those 3 give us a compass to explore the opportunities that we have in our lives. Our relationships are some of the strongest, most reflective mirrors we have, especially our romantic relationships. They reflect back to us who we're being, what we're doing, where your healing is, what we're able to celebrate and acknowledge. They're also invitations to explore what's next in our journey whether that's a healing, coaching or spiritual journey. It's all about the balancing of masculine and feminine energies when they get out of balance I feel like we get in trouble. I see this a lot, being a father, with my 3-year-old son, he requires a lot of feminine nurturing and presence right now that I don't always have access to. I'll want and expect him to act in a specific way and he doesn't and what he mirrors back to me is that I'm getting frustrated. Why am I getting frustrated? There's something in my I can't be with, what is that? I can trace it right down to this wound I have from my childhood and all of that is impacting my experience and relationship with my son. BEST MOMENTS ‘Our relationships are the way in which we get to experience life.' ‘Everything outside of me is an expression of what is inside of me.' ‘Relationships are some of the messiest things that we get to experience in life.' ‘We get conditioned or trained to judge our emotions or internal states as good or bad, what that does is starts to rob us of the full expression of being a human being. You will get angry and upset, making that bad or wrong makes a dynamic inside of us that doesn't serve us. You can be angry or sad, but you don't have to act on it. We need the highs and low of life to experience all of it.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca are joined by Lars Heiselberg Vang Jensen and Dave Skeels to ask a seemingly simple but surprisingly difficult question: why Mother Earth needs us to plant trees? KEY TAKEAWAYS Most would agree that we're seeing symptoms of climate change, like heating around the globe, more heavy rains, disasters with many people suffering. For a long time we've been too efficient with machinery cutting down trees and it's now time to give back and help Mother Earth. If you can open up a road for others to follow, like having a place to plant trees, when it's made possible at municipalities, churches, schools, kindergartens, governments, private landowners places then other people can find sponsors of trees. It's about what we can do when we do it together, we have to come together and help each other as much as possible. As human beings we have a desire for inclusivity, we have a need to be with other human beings. If we find a common goal or purpose to look after the planet that's got to be a good place to be because, not only are you doing a good thing, you're also with other people doing a good thing. Mother Earth is already crying and asking for help. What would you do if you saw a baby crying? The calling is now. We should have done far more already by now, so we need to do a lot of amends now. BEST MOMENTS ‘We are effectively helping ourselves to the planet's future and we need to do something to redress that balance and build a bit more future in for the planet and indeed the population that lives on the planet.' ‘We all have to do our little bit, and lots of a little equals a lot. If everybody does their incremental piece then we've suddenly got some sizeable change.' ‘The more people we can touch with our success, the more people that believe in the dream, the more the dream turns into a reality.' ‘We can create welfare and richness when our heart is concerned with other people, animals, nature, all human beings.' After backpacking through Asia, he worked for 8 years for Falck, a Danish rescue company in Denmark – specializing in rescue, fire, and ambulance service. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by Collins Mureithi to talk about personal development and what those two simple words mean to them. KEY TAKEAWAYS I started my journey of growth by identifying a mentor because I knew that I couldn't do it alone. I had so many questions about what I needed to do when I was building my non-profit organisation. I learned from them to understand exactly what to do because they'd already been there and they already have wisdom. I also read a lot of books, articles, listened to podcasts, and watched YouTube videos on leadership, fundraising and management. I also identified and surrounded myself with positive people who are also on the journey of rediscovering themselves in a positive way and were going in the same direction. We have a lot of leaders in Africa who are mismanaging resources that they have been given. You find a lot of young people want to be leaders so that they can accumulate more wealth and make money so they can get a lot of resources for themselves to benefit themselves. Those are negative leaders, but negativity can also influence and can make a lot of people suffer. Every day I work with young people in Africa to be leaders. I have been able to identify what is actually happening in Africa – and a lot of young people are thinking the same. We cannot work like this. I established a centre where we can have these conversations about servant leadership, what is happening in our communities, and how can we solve them? We don't have a mindset of doing things to get something in return, we do things because we were created to do this kind of thing. I'm not that religious, but I believe in God, that there is a higher power that has put purpose in me. That person leads me every day to do what I do. The seed of purpose in my heart is to solve a problem in the world. Every day when I wake up in the morning, I say to myself: “The higher power chose me to be here right now, that is special, it means I'm special, why should I live a mediocre life? I need to live a special life that is impacting people to live positively”. When I go to sleep at night knowing that today I've been able to improve a life or leave a purpose, I'm OK and I thank the higher power for giving me this day and I can sleep at peace looking forward to the next day to continue living my purpose. BEST MOMENTS‘Personal development to me means growth, and not only growth but positive growth. You have to invest in yourself and in something for you to grow.'‘Everybody has a purpose. Everybody was created to solve a problem.'‘Servant leadership is about identifying what is in you and then trying to apply it by solving a problem in the community or wherever you are.'‘Servant leadership is the solution to most of the problems in Africa.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by Rubria Mendoza to talk about the fascinating topic of family matters and why family is important. KEY TAKEAWAYS Family is important for me because it's the centre of everything we do. Their values, support and the dynamic bonds that are created can be transposed to any other area of our lives: work, friends, etc. For me, family isn't just blood relatives, family are people I have a strong connection with. I'm not blood related to my second Mum, yet we are equally close as I was with my Mum. I have a strong group of friends who I met 20+ years ago, we call ourselves family. When we had kids they refer to us all as uncles and aunts because that's how we feel that connection. One of the greatest things about family is that we don't have to agree on everything. Even though we were raised the same way we are unique. When I've gone through bad times with family members, something I learned years ago when attending support groups is that I don't want to stop loving the person, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with their actions. I don't like their actions but I still love the person. I don't get stuck, I try to move forward, even if the relationship doesn't go back to what it was. It can be really hurtful, but I don't have to carry those things with me. My group of people share the same values, that we are honest with ourselves and willing to be open, even if we don't talk much or see each other in person, we still feel the connection. That, for me, has been amazing. We're all human beings, there to support each other, cheer for the others, and help. That's what family is about. BEST MOMENTS‘Family is priority.' ‘Family is where I feel loved, safe, where I feel I belong.' ‘You may be missing that link for the rest of your life but there is still more chain ahead.' ‘I encourage the little ones that they can pursue anything, there's no such thing as a thing for a boy, a thing for a girl, a thing just for adults. The sky's the limit, life is too short to live with restrictions.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by returning guest Pat Wolff to talk around the broad topic of health, personally and for the planet in these times of significant divides in wealth and the impending climate crisis. KEY TAKEAWAYS I'm a paediatrician and primary care physician, so I have a medicalised view of the world, but I also am the founder of a programme in Haiti – a factory that manufactures food for malnourished children. So, I'm also a reluctant industrialist as well. I've travelled a lot, so I have a broad view of the differences in health in various places, but I have an overarching concern about the climate crisis and what it's going to do to all of our health. The world is going to change so much in the next 10-20 years that we all need to think about it today and figure out how we're going to fit into that for ourselves, our children and grandchildren, our communities and the world. We have to get serious about prevention, and that includes our environment. Chaos, lack of food, violence, insecurity, refugees, immigrants are top of mind for us and they're going to be top of mind for more people in more places in the coming years because of climate change. Some places are going to be too hot for people to live in, some places are not going to have water so they'll have to move, some places are not going to have food so they'll have to move. Where will they go and who will welcome them? How will we redistribute the wealth of the world, which we can all agree is very top heavy with very few people owning most of the wealth. That is not going to work. We really have to think about more social justice because poor people won't put up with it. In order to prevent violence we need to do the right thing: Share. Haiti is a snapshot of the future for other places. It's environmentally degraded, all the wealth is owned by 1% of the people, people don't have enough of anything, and they live very simply. I've lived there 50% of the time for many years and it's like a different planet to the rest of the US where we buy whatever we want, we throw away what's not the newest thing, we're careless about our use of energy and resources because we can be. We need to get more mindful – more simple – about what our needs, wants and desires are. Our current inputs are about wanting more and comparing ourselves to people who have more and do more things. Need not, want not and you'll be happy. Simplify. Spend less on stuff, spend more time in nature, care for the Earth and each other. BEST MOMENTS ‘Health is not just the absence or presence of disease, it's really having good air to breathe, good food to eat, good water to drink, not a significant, serious amount of stress in you life, having security, a lack of violence on an everyday basis, having a place to live, it's all of these things.' ‘We all do better when we all do better.' ‘Walls are not going to do it. You really have to enable people to live, to find food, shelter and water where they are, or make accommodations for them to move to where the weather is going to be more congenial to human life.' ‘The planet and animals will survive better than humans will. It might be that humans are not equipped to think about the future and to delay gratification today in order to have a better future.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by Joe Howe and Tom Michler, to talk about why it's so important to give youth a sporting chance in life. KEY TAKEAWAYS The multitude of benefits that a child can gain from the experience of being given a sporting chance in life. These include the socialization, the feeling of being – that they belong – is so important for our programme, that activity itself. But, for Joe and I, once you become a part of the St. Louis soccer community you're part of it forever, and it's a wonderful experience of community. We saw a gap with the pay-to-play model, a lot of children that just wouldn't get that opportunity and we knew what the game had done for us, we really wanted to fill that gap. We've both played on teams where there was a lot of talent but it didn't always work. It works when there's an orchestration and you have that experience and success, that's a very powerful experience. The experience of belonging really grounds you and when you see those guys years later it's alive and well in you. That's what we're looking to provide via the field; a sense of belonging while playing sports and having fun also. There's a lot of groups teaching soccer. The important thing is how we go about it and what we're emphasizing in the setting. My background is in mental health and more and more we pay attention to the environment a child is growing up in. The nature vs nurture argument has really moved into environment vs genetics. Our intention is to create a particular environment intentionally that is inclusive, safe and fun. You can't coach every kid the same. Some kids respond to you challenging them and some kids not so much, they can be shy and need coaxing into it. You have to notice that, and some kids really have a load they're carrying so you really have to watch it and really work with them and be conscientious of what they're going through. BEST MOMENTS ‘Let the game be the teacher not only for soccer but for life.' ‘The great thing about sport is it's the great equalizer, if you can play you can play and it doesn't matter where you're from.' ‘We build our goals wider, purposefully, to promote scoring. When a child has the experience of scoring a goal and they tell us about it, you see it in their eyes. From then on that child gets more assertive both in the play and with other kids around them too.' ‘Nothing beats when you teach a kid a new skill and you see the lights go on in them, that's the greatest thing ever and makes it all worth it.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca are joined by Dr Art McCoy and Crystal J. Swanigan to explore the topic of foundational faith in the context of Blessed Beyond Belief, and how important faith is in all its various guises and what it really means. KEY TAKEAWAYS Faith is beyond a dream, it's greater than a dream. F.A.I.T.H. – Forward All Issues To Heaven or Forget All Impossible Truths and Trust in Him. My higher power is God, I lean on him for all things, I dream big. Faith is dreaming big and stepping out on the ledge without a net underneath to catch you, just know that the direction that you're going has been pointed and directed by your faith. “Trust without evidence” can be universal or religious. Faith is a corporate thing, there's a community of like-minded people that have a similar creed. In America we're focused on ourselves with regard to faith. But in the beginning of a belief or a religion, there's a creed – a perception of truth – that transcends the current reality and reasoning. That's very important as a leader because it lets me know how many people have faith in a vision, faith in a future, faith in a community, and faith in an outcome that we can create something out of nothing. It is possible to have a level of faith that is individual, but that faith is miniscule in comparison to a corporate faith. In all texts, including sacred texts, the community of faith is what gives you your strength. This oneness with this element that is bigger than you that taps into an unmediated truth. People call it God, people call it Universe, but in the end it's the communal aspect that makes you have divine power. Intentional is a plan, an aim, a goal, a target, it's predestined, pre-thought-out, intended to be, expected as a result, it has a purpose. My pain becomes my purpose, my misery becomes my message, those are the things that were intended to come my way so I could become the advocate for the product/topic. Pain was inflicted to provoke me to bring more light. We don't really get involved in things until it knocks on our door. BEST MOMENTS ‘Things work together for my good. It may not all be or taste good, but it's all working together for my good.' ‘Faith is the substance that things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.' ‘Faith gives you the power to transcend reason and reality in a way that makes something better than it was before.' ‘No man is an island, we stand together. People need me to make their lives more fulfilled and I need people to make my life more fulfilled.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by Sally Hooper to talk about the children's book ‘In-Betweeny-Weeny', that they have co-created within World Game-Changers, the story behind the book and what they hope to achieve through telling the story. The book can be found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Betweeny-Weeny-Sally-Hooper/dp/1782229809?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Or the World Game-Changers website: https://worldgamechangers.org/book-mastering-the-game-of-life/ KEY TAKEAWAYS The story was written by Sally a long time ago when her now 22-year-old son was 3. He was a very hyper verbal, intelligent boy with an expansive vocabulary. She was in bed-rest while pregnant with her daughter. This was quite a big adjustment and he started stuttering. I wrote the story for him to help him through that time in his life when things weren't normal and to teach him some patience, self-acceptance as well as optimism and hope that he'd get through this and be fine. I already had experience with work with children in my professional life, so I was familiar with disfluency, saw it unfolding and got him the help that he needed really early on. It also came in handy that my sister is a speech and language pathologist, so between her, I and the therapy he was receiving from another speech and language pathologist, all that intervention did the trick. He's made a full recovery since. While the story was written about my son and disfluency it transcends that. I simply talked about a “struggle” that the child is having, so it's useful for lots of different kids with lots of situations that can arise. The take-home message is: You're unconditionally loved whether you're making a mistake or doing things just right and everything in between. It's a nurturing, fun way to make an emotional connection with your child and let they know they're unconditionally loved which is an important message for any child to hear. The co-creation has been as fulfilling as any other part of this project. It's been a labour of love, but in the most lovely way. It's been a highlight of my life in the last couple of years, jumping on Zoom calls with Rebecca and others at World Game-Changers. You're bringing a children's book to life with fanciful words and illustrations, how could that not bring a smile to your face? BEST MOMENTS ‘Like anything with children, early intervention is the key to turning things around.'‘The book was a way of having a special connection with my son to let him know that it's OK, we're going to work through this.'‘I've always found writing to be very cathartic and healing – writing and making soup!'‘In writing this story the three of us have talked about the importance of the parent or grownup raising a child to be a model and shaping a child's behaviour by modelling appropriate behaviour.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Rebecca Wheele and Sally Hooper for the third episode on the subject of being blessed beyond belief. On this episode they focus on nurturing children KEY TAKEAWAYS During covid I pivoted from helping schools set up early education programmes for autistic children to work more with the neurotypical population and helping parents get past some parenting challenges with their little ones to get back to loving life together at home. All my experiences combined have brought me to a point where I want to instil, teach goodness and model how to do that for grown ups because a lot of grown ups don't necessarily have the tools or knowledge of how to model or teach that for children: Teach patience, self-worth, introspection, forgiveness, gratitude, community and all these wonderful things that if we teach kids, the earlier the easier, what an advantage these kids will have as they age and become grown ups and hopefully contribute as world game-changers in the world as well. I see kids as little sponges and they're going to soak up whatever it is that you put in front of them. You could fill them with sour milk, the blandness of water – your absence as a parent, they'll soak that up – or we can fill them with the sweet nectar of goodness and your time and attention, which is what most kids want. It's an opportunity to pour goodness into them and if you do that then they'll drip goodness. You can hear about trauma or read about it or see it in a movie, but to really experience it first hand when families are communicating it to you is a whole different thing. It was a privilege to be in that position, I didn't take it lightly but it was eye-opening. BEST MOMENTS ‘Much of the issues I was dealing with [from children I was seeing as a therapist] had to do with what happened to them when they were younger, really little. So much of what we do comes from our early upbringing.' ‘If we can instill goodness in little ones from the get-go, what an advantage they will have in their life. We can give them a leg-up in this world.' ‘If I can teach a child that's on the autistic spectrum to talk what else can we teach kids who are neuro-typical, who don't have the challenges that child had?' ‘Nurture is a huge, huge component to the outcome of a child.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Aimee Mosco and Rebecca Wheele for the second in episode on the subject of being blessed beyond belief. On this episode they focus on being curiously creative, and what this means by breaking down each of those three words. KEY TAKEAWAYS The term ‘curiously creative' takes my right back to childhood into a space where I was free of judgement, as many of us were as children as we're blank slates when we come into the world. When my son was little, he looked at everything with such a different pair of eyes and was curious about how everything worked. He would take toys apart to see how they worked. It was interesting to me because, through his experience, I went back to that place of being curiously creative. When you start opening those inner doors and start looking at what you're made of and where you come from, and really contemplating that, that is a way to open up new avenues of curiosity. Creativity is part of our nature. Think about the last 200-330 year of our history and how much things have changed – how much life has changed. The only reason that has come to pass is because people exercise their creative abilities and brought us to this new level of existence. I believe that we can change our beliefs, but it takes some awareness and understanding that we my have imposed upon ourselves some conditioning, or we have allowed conditioning to be imposed upon us. We have a choice, but first becoming aware that you have a choice is step one. All change starts with awareness. Then we need to explore it and figure out which of our beliefs have been imposed upon us and do you really believe that and is it something I want to change? No matter where you are in your life or what you're experiencing, you can always choose to look at things in a different way. You have that ability within you to make that choice. BEST MOMENTS ‘Imagination is so key as a child. Children can see things in a way that maybe we've lost sight of. It's something I'm becoming more aware of bring back into my life.' ‘We are human beings not human doings.' ‘Each person is blessed beyond belief just by the pure birth right of being born and then recognizing that each individual has a unique gift that they can bring to the world.' ‘He who thinks he can, and he who thinks he can't, are both right.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Rebecca Wheele is joined by Collins Mureithi to talk about his programmes called Young Leaders which aims to develop Africans to be servant-leaders who will become agents of positive change in their communities. KEY TAKEAWAYS One of the gaps I identified was that there were a lot of gaps in communities, especially in Africa. We find we have common problems, such as not using certain resources to the fullest. I asked myself: How can I make it better? That's when I decided to start this programme with the aim of raising and creating awareness of why it's important for us to have good leadership and the definition of good servant-leadership. Through the program, people are able to learn about leadership skills, how you brand yourself as a leader, to understand how to position yourself in the community and support the community in making them have a good life. Servant-leadership is the answer to a lot of problems globally, not just in Africa. As a leader I'm responsible for helping people around the world to make their lives better, supporting them, leaving them in a better place, sharing humanity through love. I have been able to do it by starting the organisation, using what little resources that we have been able to get to support and empower other people. When people understand why they need to practice servant-leadership it will be easy for us to work on these problems we are all going through. We have a number of discussions we have with government about accountability. We know that in every government there is a system with budgets for things like health and hunger. We give a platform for conversations with those leaders on accountability in these areas, we really want to understand how they're using the resources that they have been given from the people via taxes. It's not easy for people to be accountable when they aren't doing the right things, so it's a tug-of-war – a process – that isn't 100% bearing fruit, but at least 30% we have kept them accountable and making them see how they are taking responsibilities and keeping the promises of the actions they said they would do while they are in office. BEST MOMENTS ‘I've gone through the process of becoming a servant-leader and I've seen the benefit.'‘It is your responsibility as a leader to be able to improve the lives of other people positively. You don't have to take advantage of other people because of your position.'‘Servant-leadership is about using what we have for the betterment of people that are going through challenges and issues.'‘It's not about “what am I getting?” It's about “what am I giving to my people?”' VALUABLE RESOURCES Paul's Story: Emerging From The Forest (UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Emerging-Forest-Pain-Purpose-Mastering/dp/1719373272 Paul's Story: Emerging From The Forest (USA): https://www.amazon.com/Emerging-Forest-Pain-Purpose-Mastering/dp/1719373272 Mastering The Game Of Life Book (UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Game-Life-Paul-Lowe/dp/1782227679 Mastering The Game Of Life Book (USA): https://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Game-Life-Paul-Lowe/dp/1782227679 Speaking From Our Hearts Books: Volumes 1-3 (Available on Amazon) World Game-Changers Group ABOUT THE GUESTS After realizing a gap of lack of opportunities among young people in his community, Collins Mureithi registered a community based youth led organisation to create a safe space that allows them to discuss how to advocate for their rights, opportunities & mobilize for resources to apply programs. This space has raised young people to be servant leaders who will become agents of positive change in the community through volunteerism & service to humanity. His mission in life is to train young people to serve the world by first giving out their purpose before they think about themselves over what they will receive. He has managed to train over 100 grass-root youth & women organisational founders on the basic management system and help them fundraise locally. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Aimee Mosco and Kristin Johnson to begin another mini-series around the title ‘Blessed Beyond Belief' to speak about higher wisdom and intuition and how these things play into us being blessed. KEY TAKEAWAYS Higher wisdom and intuition really open up the gateway to us realizing that we are blessed because when we learn to tap into the store of knowledge that we all carry around without knowing it, we realize how many opportunities are open to us and how unique and wonderful our existence is. Messages are all around us as we go through our lives and where the higher wisdom and intuition comes in is helping us tap into those messages. It could be something as simple as hearing a song on the radio or seeing a billboard or TV commercial or seeing a synchronicity, like the number 11:11 showing up which means there's something happening that you need to pay attention to. As we tap into these things – which is an innate function available to all of us – one of the benefits is that you can see underneath appearances. Nothing happens in our lives without some purpose to it. We can't always see that unless we dig a bit deeper. By doing so, we can see the gifts in each moment, that's the connection to being blessed beyond belief. Creating a daily ritual that has you consciously tapping into your higher wisdom is important. If you make it a habit, you train yourself into taking advantage of an element of yourself that if you're not thinking about, you're ignoring it. Every day I express gratitude, I remind myself that I am born from divine love, and I express the desire to connect with my higher wisdom and receive from it messages in the highest form of truth. This helps to get my ego to step out of the way. Gratitude is so important, forgiveness of ourselves and others is so important, and love is everything. But, it seems like forgiving ourselves and others is hard because we fall short, we know others fall short and it's hard especially to forgive ourselves because that's where our ego comes in. BEST MOMENTS‘Higher wisdom and intuition really help us tune in to the messages from the universe and what is unfolding more than meets the eye.' ‘Everything happens for a reason. It's such an old cliché, but it's true.' ‘We are not our thoughts. Our thoughts can be so much noise and meditation practices, gratitude practices, they're the way to filter out the noise and let the higher wisdom speak.' ‘Which comes first, gratitude or forgiveness? There is no wrong answer, it all depends on your mindset.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest & host Rebecca Wheele for the fifth and final episode in a series of deep-dive conversations about what they each think is the greatest challenge in life. KEY TAKEAWAYS Our greatest challenge is fear because it underpins everything. The fear of change: You're not making those changes, deep down you fear losing control of your life and/or losing the acceptance of those around you. Say: “I choose to be fearless”. You will have moments of doubt at doing new things you've never done before, but we have a choice around how we handle them. Sending the word “fearless” down to your subconsciousness will help you become that in your consciousness. Life's for living. I think these conversations are beautiful, they're great and I love our particular dance around them. But, I think ultimately it's about realising do these stories serve us? Don't analyse it, play with it and embrace that childlike curiosity. It's a very simple choice; do you want to be Shufflefoot or Shuffle Foot-esque (an identity Paul embraced for a long time earlier in life) or do you want to be Superman or woman. Children don't harbour the fear that we do as adults, they haven't learned that yet. A lot of that is brought around by conditioning. Our parents and loved ones are there to help guide us to learn the easy way rather than the hard way. BEST MOMENTS ‘Everything that is not going right in your life such as money, relationships, anxiety, stress, etc is a result of fear caused by your need for control and acceptance. The more things that are wrong, or not ideal, the more fear you will have.' ‘Fear is not all bad because it can be a guiding light to where you need to go.' ‘Fear seems to be something that, if you run away from, it gets bigger and it'll chase you and present in things that are completely unrelated.' ‘Fear is a great servant but a bad master.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest & host Rebecca Wheele for the fourth episode in a series of podcasts about what they each think is the greatest challenge in life. KEY TAKEAWAYS The mind is an incredibly powerful mechanism. But we can focus a lot of energy trying to manipulate or control a situation that's out of our control, just because we have a dream around it. As a general rule of thumb, the more an individual can control their situation, the more the more chances of achieving that goal or forming that belief there will be. Once you're at the behest of third parties your chances reduce because they may have other thoughts. I'm learning to dance at the moment and it's teaching me so much about the balance of control and letting it go in the technique and the flow and correct effort. I can practice all I like, but if that practice isn't optimal – if I'm not learning the things I need to be learning to make progress – it's just effort that's wasted. Recognise that you can have a dream, and that's wonderful. You can go after it, set intentions, take all the action, but along the way the goalposts might move and if you're too attached to the original idea or outcome then it's going to skew your ability to grow and to go in the direction of your soul's calling. That original goal might not be what was meant for you. The positive language that we send down into our subconscious, which is very simple and binary, can raise you up energetically. Science has proven this. Part of the self-language I have doesn't change because clouds pass and, if you're Superman (like I tell myself I am), you can make it pass. BEST MOMENTS ‘We think that if we just put in loads of effort we'll achieve our goal. That's not the case. There are two things we need to be very aware of: vision (what do I want for my life? And reality (what is it you're trying to control?)'‘We're not responsible for changing the thoughts and opinions of the other 8 billion people on the planet, but we can change ourselves. By changing our world we change the world.' ‘If you can change something, let go of the need to control it and just take action.'‘When you let go of the need to control situations and circumstances you do take back responsibility and you get power back, which is almost like control. It's a kind of paradox.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest & host Rebecca Wheele for the third episode of their deep-dive conversation about what they each think is the greatest challenge in life, and whether or not there is just one. KEY TAKEAWAYS Challenge is not a finite thing and it's unique to the individual as well. There isn't one challenge in life that will fit everyone, everyone has their own unique challenge. There's wisdom to be found on the other side when you are facing a challenge. If you are able to face it it can be alchemised into something, integrated and turned into something that can help you in your journey. Being able to separate yourself from yourself and understanding how you are showing up in the world, understanding those small nuances can tell you so much. You should really try to be in tune with those and really listen. You've got to create new neural pathways. Where we pay our attention is where the energy and the power is. If we keep going a certain way, sooner or later that new way is going to appear and the old way will disappear. BEST MOMENTS ‘Our greatest challenge is our greatest gift.'‘Motivation comes from taking action. Most people wait to be motivated to do a thing. When you do something outside your comfort zone you get motivated, so it actually comes from taking action.'‘If you don't nurture something it dies.'‘I try to shift from feeling nervous about something to feeling like wow, I'm alive and something is making me feel alive. What an amazing feeling.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest & host Rebecca Wheele for the second in their series of podcasts of deep-dive conversations about what they each think is the greatest challenge in life. KEY TAKEAWAYS My answer in the last podcast was that my greatest challenge in life is myself. Since then, I've thought hard about it and identified that one of the things is self-belief. This is a massive challenge for me, which I'm sure resonates with a lot of us. I had a belief that I hated cats. Something somewhere supported that belief. Perhaps when I was younger I was scratched by a cat, it could have been anything, but I had that belief for many years. When my ex-girlfriend and I bought a kitten for her mother. One night I was woken by a wailing from the kitten in pain. It had been hit by something and its young life was lost. I was devastated and that feeling went on for days. I realized that the belief I had wasn't true. Even with a belief that you think is serving you, you can get trapped in the container of that belief and it can hinder any progress or growth. Being open minded and challenging all beliefs is a really healthy thing to be able to do. We go through life and, if we're lucky, we get to a stage where we think: “I need to change this, or if I can't – because it's external – I let it go”. It sounds over simplistic, but there's so much that we can take out power back on by changing how we perceive and frame things. BEST MOMENTS ‘Until we learn to let go, we're a prisoner in the goldfish bowl that is our head.'‘Encourage doing it wrong. Young children don't give a damn about getting it wrong. There is no wrong and we forget that as we get older. There's a story we've decided is true, it becomes a belief.' ‘Conditioning is another great challenge in life. From an early age seeds have been planted, particularly in the formative years as a child, it's massive.'‘If only I knew then what I know now. That's the beauty of life, trusting in the process and in certain people is priceless.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest & host Rebecca Wheele to deep-dive a conversation about what they each think is the greatest challenge in life. KEY TAKEAWAYS Rebecca: For me, the biggest challenge in life is myself and knowing oneself. There are all sorts of identities we get wrapped up in life, from the facts (hair colour/gender/etc) to what we do as a job, what we're good at, what we practice, how we show up in the world. I am a creative person, a designer and artist. But it's a part of who I am not who I am. One of the challenges in life is to dismantle that identity to peel back the layers and to tap into he true essence of who we are rather than the thing we've wrapped round ourselves. Paul: I've never really run with the crowd, in fact I've run against the crowd. But there was a small part of that, when I reflect back, that was just to be different, which itself is an identity thing: “I don't want to run with the crowd”. But, I knew who I wasn't. And, I think often times to know who we aren't is a good stepping stone to get closer to finding out who we actually are. I have a story that I'm not good at communication and I've reflected on that recently. What it is in the moments when I have a fear of judgement in a situation where I feel like I'm not enough or I'm putting someone else on a pedestal, or feeling like there's going to be judgement about what I say. That actually hinders my ability to be able to express what's inside. A small belief like that starts to play out. If you suppress an emotion as it comes up all it does is start to bubble up. It's like building a dam to block a river, the river and the flow of water doesn't go away, eventually what will happen is it will burst over the top. In the moment of feeling that emotion, you should be able to express it in a safe space with someone to release that energy and be heard. BEST MOMENTS ‘We're kind of like chameleons, we change our colours to blend in with the outside world, and maybe we shouldn't.' ‘What is serving us in our identity?' ‘Once you know where your base is it's OK to leave base.' ‘Another of the greatest challenges in life is to love oneself, especially in moments of anger and frustration. It's easy to love yourself if something's gone well or you've achieved something, but the challenge is to love yourself in the darker moments.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest Aimee Mosco in the second episode on missional leadership and spirituality – specifically around identity and our relationship to the outside world – from a more spiritual perspective than the first episode, which was more religion-focussed. KEY TAKEAWAYS We're eternal beings, we constantly change and constantly grow, so we need to ask ourselves questions about who we are, what are our beliefs today, and how have I grown every day. Otherwise we get stuck in who we were yesterday and that becomes our identity. A little fluidity is very beneficial. Spirituality to me means the essence of your spirit, your spiritual beliefs are your home, it's where all your thoughts and emotions are derived from. I'm intuitive and have been studying spirituality for many years from my own perspective and divine archives and the conclusion that I've drawn is that spirituality is really a compendium of experiences and lessons for the soul. My spiritual foundation was constructed on these lessons and knowledge that I've curated and put in my divine archives to use on a daily basis. I grew up Catholic, but I wasn't able to embrace the faith because some things just didn't sound right to me: Some of the stories that are told and perpetuated by the Catholic religion just didn't feel right. But, I always felt like there was something more that I needed to know about. Behind the scenes I developed a very close relationship to “Jesus energy” or “the Christ Consciousness energy”, to me it's the most pure energy that exists and is available to us. Through my studies I believe that Jesus was who we called Christ, but I believe that there have been many Christs. In fact, I believe that the next coming of Christ is really about us stepping into our own Christhood, seeing ourselves as Jesus or a God. I think we're always guided by spirit, our own inner spirit and grand inner spirit. We're actually programmed to be guided by this higher guiding force or light, but the burden is on us to actually discover who and what we are as an individual. My studies have also been around how the human energy field is constructed. This is constructed from the lessons of the Christ consciousness, it's our goal as an embodied being to integrate some level of mastery to these lessons. BEST MOMENTS ‘My success is your success is our success. Ultimately, we're all connected by our spiritual roots even if our faiths and practices are different.'‘Spirituality to me means the essence of your spirit, your spiritual beliefs are your home, it's where all your thoughts and emotions are derived from.'‘Jesus was a man, but he was able to channel through his vessel these pure energies, pure information, pure teachings, pure lessons and then display or mirror them for others.'‘Faith is like our little test that we can use as a guidepost, I believe it's directly connected to your inner truth and spirit.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by first-time guest Claire Bankole, a coach who leads a Christian charity called Shift Youth and Community, to talk about identity – both how we see ourselves and how others see us and how we interact externally and internally. KEY TAKEAWAYS For me, being a Christian is an all-encompassing thing. I live my life as a faith worker, I don't draw a salary and haven't done it for 20 years. I live my life based on what I sense my purpose is and my call before God and as I do that I trust that everything that I need will come. Faith for me is tuning into what God is doing, in my and in you, what am I experiencing now? How do I see my past and make sense of it? How do I make sense of these circumstances? How do I make sense of who I am and my own life? It's about perspective, but you look at everything. The anchor point is Jesus and God and He is good, and so all things work together for good. But, it's not in a random way, it's in a trustworthy way. Aa we follow and are obedient to that way of love, we are expressing His nature and we become more like him, and the world will become a better place. Love is the opposite of self-centeredness, when we love the other as Christ loves us, we lay down our lives, it's a sacrificial, unconditional love. My understanding of my sense of self is that we're complex, living beings, we are physical, mental, spiritual. But we're pulled in two directions, towards God and towards the self. One is towards trust and relationship, and one is mistrust and self-preservation and there's a constant pull between them. BEST MOMENTS ‘My perspective of faith is seeing things the way God sees them and living accordingly.'‘God is intelligently and lovingly interacting and waiting and bringing about His purposes and His goodness. That requires us to harmonise with him.'"God is love and, as a Christian, the greatest commandment is to love God, the next greatest is to love your neighbour, then Jesus added a third one: Love one another as He has loved us.'‘Often in religious conversations, people can get very idealistic. Christians are called to love and He sorts out everything else, we're not called to judge, separate, say I'm in and you're not.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined again by Rebecca Wheele on co-hosting duties once again to continue their discussion into their idiosyncrasies, how we sometimes don't fit into others' ways of thinking – because we're all different, and how some of us are a little more ‘abstract' than others. KEY TAKEAWAYS We all have layers to ourselves, layers to different aspects – the feminine and masculine energies – and we tap into those at different stages in our lives. We have stories around that as well, so we have to be aware of the stories that we tell ourselves. But, when we tap into our true essence and our energy it's like a toolbox where we have different aspects of ourselves like creative and strategic sides that we can use in different situations. By worrying, thinking or qualming about the future, you're literally taking away from the moment which is right now, which is always what is. We are always in the moment. Be curious about the future but you have to practise letting go of it and living in the moment. When I think of the craziest thing I've ever done I think of reckless things I did when I was younger. But I think the really crazy things that feel like Alice In Wonderland experiences are more beautiful. I'm always making up words. I embrace being really weird and have let loose in being very strange on nights out with friends, I use drinking to let that out but it's always there, there's a social expectation of what we should be. I think that's why people do drink and take drugs, to give themselves permission to let it out. We need to give ourselves permission to let it out without the substances. I know that I'm very crazy and very weird, but I don't show that side of myself to people very much. I'm going to make a point of being conscious to let it out around people because it will give them permission as well. If we all invite ourselves on that journey to tap into that craziness we know is in us and playing with it, being joyful and magical with it and opening up the limitless infinite possibilities that are, seeing where it goes and trusting. BEST MOMENTS ‘There's two different meanings of the word “crazy”, it's negative or bad, but there's also the brilliance of crazy that comes with a creative, outside the box, genius quality.'‘Certainty creates restrictions and barriers. The vibrancy of life is the beauty and lights us up.'‘Be present and live in the moment.'‘Make the most out of any situation, because what's the alternative?' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined again by Rebecca Wheele who takes over hosting duties to discuss their idiosyncrasies, how we sometimes don't fit into others' ways of thinking – because we're all different, and how some of us are a little more ‘abstract' than others. KEY TAKEAWAYS What is crazy? We're all living life from our own perspective, literally through our own lens, and we only really give so much of who we are to the outside world. We show people the tip of the iceberg, underneath there's a whole other realm. Irrespective of whether the days were dark or light, when I look back on the one thread, it's love. That's the thing that interwove the rich tapestry of experiences in my life. Everything's a mirror in life. If anyone's finding you too ‘this' or too ‘that' it's nothing to do with you, it's showing where they're at in their life. We put too much emphasis on this thing called a body. I'm not saying don't look after it, but there's something far deeper within us. To me it's like a car; it's the paintwork on the outside. But, what's really underneath the engine – what's our soul's purpose? Who am I? Not how I think I am, but going beyond all that and the liberation, freedom, and love that goes with that energy and high vibration. BEST MOMENTS ‘Once you drop the mask of expectation and perception of judgement of others, the freedom is massive.' ‘There is no story, other than what you choose to create.' "We act like we'll live forever, we're not promised tomorrow and I think we really lose sight of that.'"We are enough just as we are.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined again by Rebecca Wheele who hosts the second in a multi-part episode exploring the hypothetical of what if Einstein made music? KEY TAKEAWAYS Einstein represents science and ‘logical', ‘masculine' way of thinking. Music represents creativity, flow and a more ‘feminine' way of thinking. It feels quite polarised, but what we're exploring is the two energies coming together and synergising – this is when magic starts to happen. What's key to recognise is that we're part of Mother Nature and we have deep wisdom inside of us. Our bodies may have been birthed in this lifetime, but we're connected to our mother and our grandmother and that whole line of ancestry. Wisdom is held in our DNA. But, the ego means we think we know what's best and what's right. There's often an idea that we're separate to the Earth, but the more we can recognise that we are part of Mother Earth and see the way we treat ourselves is the way we treat the Earth. The more that we look after, nurture, nourish, and care for ourselves, the better we can look after the Earth. It's interesting how we can listen to a song and connect with it, and we'll all have our own unique perspective and reaction to the song. We connect with notes, sounds and frequencies and their patterns, and music is a pattern of a frequency layered over other frequencies to make a harmony. If we're in an energy or a specific frequency field, and there's a piece of music that falls into resonance with that, we'll relate to it. It feels like you get meaning and emotion from it. But if you're in a low vibration and feeling sad, a higher frequency or uplifting energy can inspire you out of that frequency. BEST MOMENTS ‘Polarisation creates a unity, like the yin and yang.'‘There are so many different frequencies, essences, emotions, energies that music brings to our life, and you can really tap in and make a choice where you end up in yourself.'‘One day you might have a completely different reaction to a song that if you listened to it a few years ago.' ‘There's a vulnerability with singing, it feels like there's a connection between singing and sharing your voice and expressing your true self. That's why I feel a reservation around singing and I think a lot of people can relate to that.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest Rebecca Wheele who hosts this first in a two-part episode about energy through exploring the hypothetical of 'What if Einstein made music?' KEY TAKEAWAYS I don't know if Einstein did make music, he certainly wasn't renowned for his musical prowess. I think most people would say the man was noted for his science and his genius. The commonality between Einstein and music is energy because he researched it in all its various forms and music – in my world, apart from love – is the most powerful form of energy there is. It's like we're seeking permission to enjoy ourselves. What would the world look like if everyone was in a space in their lives where there were no boundaries and everyone was expressing and not afraid to just be zany? Look at the science of the world; it's very matter of fact, it's got a perception… I look back to my own journey where I had a scientific approach to life – I needed facts and proof – that was down to my own insecurity and massive vulnerability that I'd carried from childhood experiences. As the years have gone by, I'm just in the moment, if I feel like dancing I'll dance and if I feel like singing I'll sing. I don't need that proof. I've gone from seeing to believing to believing before I see it – I create it myself. When someone writes a love song, what makes that song resonate with someone is their intention of expressing their truth, their feelings and what they are experiencing and that manifests. Music is the tool to connect with that energy. It's the same for art as well as other creative outlets, they capture the frequencies and vibrations that we all feel and they can powerfully impact our state. BEST MOMENTS ‘What's in words? Words have energy, put a tune to it. How important is tonality in our words?'‘One of my all-time favourite songs is ‘I Want To Know What Love is' by Foreigner, I've listened to it hundreds of times and it still hits me every time. The opening lyrics speak to us all in so many ways.' ‘Music and art are expressions of love, in many ways, or emotions at least. They're exploring different things.' ‘Fear is an illusion, there's nothing to be afraid of, it's completely irrational in many ways. What if we dropped all that and stepped out into the world into our truth, this is me.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest Rebecca Wheele for the second part of a double episode covering what price we're paying for our own personal energy. Not the gas or electric, but the way we're living our lives and the energy levels that may be increasing or decreasing, and what the impact of that has on us as individuals. KEY TAKEAWAYS There is a choice to be made in how we show up with our energy. We have to choose which one to tap into, because we do have the more sombre, low energy, but there's also playful, high energy, it's not limited by anything, there are perhaps infinite energies. Like colours we chose the palette we show up with. The reality of life and having the awareness to ride the waves of all of the emotions, and not suppress any or feel guilt or shame. Anything you squash doesn't go away, it just gets suppressed and comes up later in all sorts of different ways. When I've done that it comes back bigger and more. Just recognise and be real and honour your authentic feelings of what's actually presenting right now. It's important to stay true and real because there's a fake-ness to when we by-pass and say everything's great or wonderful. That's great if it's true, but if you're in that place and there's something else going on and you don't want to look at it then you're not in an authentic, true place. You can walk into a room and sense someone's energy straightaway, and you can't explain that. That's something everyone can connect with. If this is a new concept to you listening, just try to connect with other people's energies when you're in their presence and feel what that energy makes you feel. BEST MOMENTS ‘Brushing something under the carpet doesn't mean it goes away, it just festers and builds.'‘Music is movement of frequency and vibration in a certain way that's harmonising. When music is done in an aligned way it sounds wonderful, beautiful and joyous.' ‘Music is so profound and could be an untapped thing that has more potential for helping and healing and having a massive impact on people's lives, so watch this space.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest Rebecca Wheele for the first part of a double episode covering what price we're paying for our own personal energy. Not the gas or electric, but the way we're living our lives and the energy levels that may be increasing or decreasing, and what the impact of that has on us as individuals. KEY TAKEAWAYS There's so many different levels of ‘energy'. The rise in price of external energy affects us in some ways depending on our mindset. But there's energy in terms of physical energy, to be motivated or do exercise, but there's also spiritual energy. Perhaps they're intertwined, perhaps there's just one energy? What's happening below the surface to create a reality? There are circumstances outside of our control – we're born into a life and there's a degree of things and opportunities that we have. But, at the same time, our mindset and our way of being – the frequency we're tuned into, the story that we're telling ourselves then creates that reality. I feel that we can all connect with that sense of energy about ourselves, the sense of a soul or spirit, and I feel that from my own personal belief and what I really resonate with is that the soul is eternal and in this lifetime we're in this physical form and then we move on. Part of the mystery of that is not knowing. I feel like there's a need in the world now to have to have everything proven and scientifically making sense. But that negates the mystery. Energy exists for me in the feeling realm. You can't see energy – except for things like steam and water flowing – but you can connect to it more in the feeling than the seeing of it. BEST MOMENTS ‘Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.'‘Everything is energy. Match the frequency of the reality that you want and you cannot help but to get that reality.' "We want to look for the facts because we feel safe in the facts. But the beauty of life is a mystery. If we knew it all for a fact, where's the beauty and the mystery?' ‘It can be confusing, on the journey, at times to think “what is my truth?”, but that's where stillness, meditation and going inwards is so powerful in finding that.' On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by returning guest Rebecca Wheele who takes the reigns and goes on some deep dives with Paul about Alice In Wonderland and going down rabbit holes in life and how that relates to Steve Jobs. KEY TAKEAWAYS Think of the riverbank, the water is chaotic and can go anywhere, but the riverbank, which is solid and un-fluid, holds it in a place where it can dance and flow. The two together are really powerful, like the yin and yang. When we're children we're creating worlds and lands and invisible friends, the imagination in a child is off the scale, there's no limit to it. Curiouser and curiouser, nothing's impossible. Childlike curiosity is what captures people's hearts with Alice in Wonderland, there's a freedom in going into a world where it's magical and wonderous. I feel there's a part of everyone that is drawn to that because there's freedom in it. Alice in Wonderland represents the child's struggle to survive in the confusing world of adults (dare I say this need for certainty). To understand our adult world, Alice has to overcome the open-mindedness that is characteristic for children, apparently adults need to live by rules. Children are taken through constrictions by adults. To a certain degree they need that. Rules are interesting because they can constrict things, unless we have the awareness to dance with the rules or at least be aware of why the rule is there, and question them and if they're always going to be that way. There's a fluidity and creativity within children that can be suppressed by adults The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are those who do. I feel this Steve Jobs quote describes us at World Game-Changers. But, with Alice's childlike curiosity, she believed in the good, she had the trust to drink the potion and eat the cake, she had the courage to go on a journey of self-discovery. That's not a bad lesson for us to learn, is it? BEST MOMENTS ‘We're always looking for the definitive, polarised, binary answer, aren't we? In marketing terms, that silver bullet. There isn't a right or a wrong.' ‘What is growing up? Physically we grow up, but it insinuates that you become serious, and you lose that playfulness, fun and magic when you become an adult.' ‘If I had a wound of my own, everything would be nonsense, nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't and, contrary-wise, what it wouldn't be and what it wouldn't be it would, you see? It's funny because there's such truth to it while appearing nonsense.' ‘Confusion comes before a breakthrough, but we don't like confusion because we're conditioned to want life to run smoothly, but it's not like that.'
