*A Statement From The Executive Directors* At the Archewell Foundation, we: Show Up, Do Good. Our values are an extension of those of our founders, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Our funding and grant support extends to individuals and organizations of all walks of life with varying political views, cultural beliefs, ideologies, and identifications. We do not discriminate. We believe change comes from building bridges. We welcome all. We do not, however, tolerate any form of hate speech, including hate-fueled symbols, language, or imagery—no matter the community it targets. For us, association with the blending of the Star of David with a swastika, is impossible to accept. Additionally, language that calls for the destruction of others, whether explicitly or implicitly, crosses a line. It is not aligned with our values: we are pro-humanity, pro-love, pro-peace, pro-equality. Out of respect for all of our partners, a responsibility to our donors, and in reflecting the values of our Principals, we make adjustments to our future funding accordingly. We remain deeply committed to our work with Muslim-led organizations and refugee support programs through The Welcome Project and relief efforts in Gaza. James Holt and Shauna Nep Executive Directors, The Archewell Foundation *Al-Qaeda Threatened Prince Harry* Prince Harry pursued police protection amid a threat from Al-Qaeda after his official state-funded security was stripped following his decision to step back from his royal role. The claim was made in the closed session of the two-day hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice in London last week, which the Duke of Sussex attended, for a pivotal legal appeal to restore his automatic police protection in the U.K. A summary of the closed session, seen by PEOPLE, was released on April 17, and the document said Harry "confirmed that he had requested certain protection after a threat was made against him by al Qaida." *Sources* Archewell Foundation | A Statement From The Executive Directors: https://archewell.org/news/statement-by-the-archewell-foundation-4-18/ Feminegra | Why Archewell Cut Ties With MMWC: https://feminegra.com/why-archewell-cut-ties-with-mmwc/ People | Prince Harry Sought Police Protection Following Threat From Al-Qaeda: https://people.com/prince-harry-sought-police-protection-murder-threats-al-qaeda-11717787

With the inflation rate easing and the economy holding in, policymakers on the Federal Open Market Committee voted unanimously to keep the benchmark overnight borrowing rate in a targeted range between 5.25%-5.5%. Along with the decision to stay on hold, committee members penciled in at least three rate cuts in 2024, assuming quarter percentage point increments. That’s less than market pricing of four, but more aggressive than what officials had previously indicated. Markets had widely anticipated the decision to stay put, which could end a cycle that has seen 11 hikes, pushing the fed funds rate to its highest level in more than 22 years. There was uncertainty, though, about how ambitious the FOMC might be regarding policy easing. Following the release of the decision, the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped more than 400 points, surpassing 37,000 for the first time. The committee’s “dot plot” of individual members’ expectations indicates another four cuts in 2025, or a full percentage point. Three more reductions in 2026 would take the fed funds rate down to between 2%-2.25%, close to the long-run outlook, though there was considerable dispersion in the estimates for the final two years. Markets, though, followed up the meeting and Chair Jerome Powell’s press conference by pricing in an even more aggressive rate-cut path, anticipating 1.5 percentage points in reductions next year, double the FOMC’s indicated pace. In a possible nod that hikes are over, the statement said that the committee would take multiple factors into account for “any” more policy tightening, a word that had not appeared previously. Along with the interest rate hikes, the Fed has been allowing up to $95 billion a month in proceeds from maturing bonds to roll off its balance sheet. That process has continued, and there has been no indication the Fed is willing to curtail that portion of policy tightening. That echoed new language in the post-meeting statement. The committee added the qualifier that inflation has “eased over the past year” while maintaining its description of prices as “elevated.” Fed officials see core inflation falling to 3.2% in 2023 and 2.4% in 2024, then to 2.2% in 2025. Finally, it gets back to the 2% target in 2026. Economic data released this week showed both consumer and wholesale prices were little changed in November. By some measures, though, the Fed is nearing its 2% inflation target. Bank of America’s calculations indicate that the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge will be around 3.1% year over year in November, and actually could hit a 2% six-month annualized rate, meeting the central bank’s goal. The statement also noted that the economy “has slowed,” after saying in November that activity had “expanded at a strong pace.” In the news conference, Powell said: “Recent indicators suggest that growth in economic activity has slowed substantially from the outsized pace seen in the third quarter. Even so, GDP is on track to expand around 2.5% for the year as a whole.” Committee members upgraded gross domestic product to grow at a 2.6% annualized pace in 2023, a half percentage point increase from the last update in September. Officials see GDP at 1.4% in 2024, roughly unchanged from the previous outlook. Projections for the unemployment rate were largely unchanged, at 3.8% in 2023 and rising to 4.1% in subsequent years. Officials have stressed their willingness to hike rates again if inflation flares up. However, most have said they can be patient now as they watch the impact the previous policy tightening moves are having on the U.S. economy. Stubbornly high prices have exacted a political toll on President Joe Biden, whose approval rating has suffered in large part because of negative sentiment on how he has handled the economy. There had been some speculation that the Fed could be reluctant to make any dramatic policy actions during a presidential election year, which looms large in 2024. However, with real rates, or the difference between the fed funds rate and inflation, running high, the Fed would be more likely to act if the inflation data continues to cooperate. https://thenationalpulse.com/2023/12/11/even-leftist-governments-around-the-world-are-moving-to-slash-migration/ Even Leftist Governments Around the World Are Moving to Slash Migration. Leftist governments in Denmark and Australia are adopting a more hardline stance on immigration than many notionally conservative governments. Australia’s governing Labor Party has pledged to cut net immigration in half. Denmark’s Social Democrats have pledged zero net immigration, a.k.a. balanced immigration. Australia, with a population of only around 25 million, suffered net immigration of around 510,000 in the year to June. The government has conceded the system is “broken” and “in tatters” – blaming the previous center-right government. They say they will reduce it to around 250,000 by June 2025. There is growing acknowledgment that an ongoing housing crisis cannot be resolved if mass migration continues at current levels. Denmark, a generous welfare state, is going even further. They aim to balance the number of people entering the country against the number of people leaving, with the government insisting: “If you want to be a party of the working class and middle class, you have to ensure that migration has a manageable level.” Social Democrat lawmaker Rasmus Stoklund explained his party’s increasingly anti-immigration stance is the true left-wing position. “The part of society that bears the brunt of unchecked migration is the working-class population that we should be representing,” he said. “It is their children who have to go to schools that experience cultural clashes. It is those people who have to experience the criminality and social problems that follow. The more privileged people in society will only meet migrants if they are the children of diplomats, so for them the issue is not so clear.” Denmark is also taking radical action to integrate the existing migration background population. Vollsmose, a notorious suburban “no go zone”, is being bulldozed, to help integrate its predominantly “non-Western” residents. https://thenationalpulse.com/2023/12/11/suicide-is-consistently-killing-more-u-s-soldiers-than-anything-else-including-war/ Suicide Is Consistently Killing More U.S. Soldiers Than Anything Else, Including War. Suicide accounted for just under 40 percent of United States active military deaths as of December 2022, according to the Defense Casualty Analysis System, which found that U.S. military suicide rates have dramatically increased over the past several decades. Indeed, the current leading cause of death among servicemen is currently categorized as “self-inflicted,” with a total of 333 incidents last year. Suicide was recorded as almost ten percent higher in prevalence than accidents, of which there were 265. Yet, last year represents a slight decrease in the rate of self-inflicted deaths compared to October 2020, in which suicide rates were just under 41 percent. Suicide accounted for roughly ten percent of military deaths when records began in 1980, with that figure remaining mostly stable until the 1990s, in which the rate jumped to 23 percent in 1995. The rate of self-inflicted deaths fell sharply in the mid-2000s, however, much of the decline can be attributed to the increase in “hostile action” fatalities in 2008. Suicide rates across American society have reached unprecedented levels under the Biden government, with just under 50,000 people killing themselves in 2022. The rate was 14.3 three people per 100,000 – the highest since 1941. https://www.dailyfetched.com/donations-to-harry-and-meghans-woke-charity-collapse-by-11-million/ Donations to Harry and Meghan’s ‘Woke’ Charity Collapse by $11 Million Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell charitable foundation has reported a massive loss of a $11 million year-on-year collapse in donations. According to the foundation’s website, Harry and Meghan aimed to “uplift and unite communities, both local and global, online and offline.” But that didn’t happen. In a tax filing disclosed Tuesday, the non-profit organization received just over $2 million in charitable contributions in 2022, compared to $13 million in 2021. However, some $8.2 million funds remain in the Archewell Foundation accounts. The 28-page report also details the charitable work the foundation has undertaken during 2023. The report stated: “We are committed to a simple but profound mission: Show Up, Do Good.” But “doing good” has not come cheap for the woke pair, who recently made the decision only to have two children to help fight climate change. https://twitter.com/i/status/1734930901883129891 - Play Video Breitbart reported that Archewell’s total expenses exceeded its revenue the year before, leaving it down by more than $674,000, according to the public filing. Its revenue in 2021 had exceeded $9 million. The organization’s executive director, James Holt, earned a salary of $227,405, including a $20,000 bonus, in 2022. The figure represents a 280 percent increase from his salary of less than $60,000 in 2021. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also faced more bad news earlier this week after they named Showbusiness’ biggest losers of 2023. They also faced a belittling on South Park and were dropped from their lucrative $20 million Spotify deal. The Royal couple also faced a roasting in the Hollywood Reporter’s “brutally honest rundown.” James Hibberd contributed the scathing review, noting they were labeled “f**king grifters” by top executive Bill Simmons. Earlier this week, NBC reported a judge ordered Prince Harry on Monday to pay nearly 50,000 pounds (more than $60,000) in legal fees to the publisher of the Daily Mail tabloid for his failed court challenge in a libel lawsuit. The Duke of Sussex is suing Associated Newspapers Ltd. over an article that said Harry tried to hide his efforts to retain publicly funded protection in the U.K. after leaving his role as a working member of the royal family.

Corey Miller, former LDS now Christian CEO of Ratio Christi, explains that statistically there are more believers in Jesus in the basic and fundamental sciences like math and physics than in the social sciences. Smart people do believe. Discussion touches on evidences for the reliability of the Bible. Corey recommends the book In Defense of the Bible. We refer listeners to the final chapter in our book Leaving Mormonism: Why Four Scholars Changed their Minds for reasons to believe in God and to believe His Word. Corey reminds Lynn of a debate they did together with LDS apologist James Holt on Unbelievable Radio on November 24, 2017. Jesus is the answer to the human condition.

Matt, James & Cassius. Herlinda Heras visits Ghost Town Brewing in Oakland, plus we have three other guests on Brew Ha Ha with Harry Duke and Herlinda Heras today. Matt Inlow from Flagship Taproom, Cassius Camus from Battle of the Brews and James Holt, owner of Civilization Brewing are also in the studio. The Battle of the Brews is Saturday April 1, from 1 to 5 pm. It is the 26th annual beer event hosted by the Active 20-30 of Santa Rosa. In addition to a fund raising event it is a BJCP Judged beer event. It has also evolved into a barbeque competition. It is held at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. In the Grace Pavillion Building there will be 65 different breweries and a large stage with a succession of bands. There will be food and drink galore, too. Flagship Taproom Matt Inlow from Flagship Taproom will also be at Battle of the Brews. This will be the brewery's third time there. At the Flagship Taproom they have a great menu, and since the Battle of the Brews needs 500 servings of an item, they chose their rosemary smoked pork tenderloin sandwich, for the competition. Picture smoked pork tenderloin, with freshly made aioli sauce, melted brie and arugula all on a soft brioche bun. They have a wood-fired smoker for tri-tip, chicken thighs and pork ribs. There are three locations of Flagship Taproom. A group of friends opened the first one opened in Cotati in 2016. There are 20 rotating beer taps and they do barbeque. They also like events, so they have trivia nights, tap takeovers, comedy shows, with indoor and outdoor events. They are also in downtown Santa Rosa, at 446 B Street. Then at the end of April 2022 they opened a location on the Windsor Town Green. They are at 1001 McClelland Drive. Ghost Town Brewing Herlinda Heras calls in from Oakland where she is visiting Ghost Town Brewing. It is near the Oakland Coliseum where the A's play. Ghost Town has been around for about 10 years but became famous during the pandemic after they started canning their beer. Herlinda will be a judge at the Battle of the Brews. Herlinda has been a beer judge at several international competitions and it is fun for her to be judging in her own backyard for once. The next beer they taste is called Super Lemon Haze. Their different hazy beers are named after different bud strains, like Pineapple Express and Moon Rocks. It's a simple beer with great aroma and fruity flavor from 100% Citra hops. It is always a top seller. Civilization Brewing Civilization Brewing is located at 490 Mendocino Ave. at the corner of Ross St. (where the old Local Barrel used to be). They have decorated it with a lot of "weird stuff" from junk shops and antique dealers. They have arcade games and big statues, and an old cathode ray tv tube for playing the really old video games. The last beer is the Peach Rhubarb Sour.

On episode 193 James Holt joins the hosts to talk about the theater control software he created as well as his experiences as a theater mixer. People with a background in mixing live music are often surprised when they learn how professional musical theater productions are mixed: extensive console automation is used to bring the active character inputs onto the console VCAs, which are then adjusted “line by line,” which minimizes the audibility of bleed and phase issues, and keeps open inputs to a minimum. They discuss how and why James developed TheatreMix, the challenges along the way, and more.Learn more about Theatremix 2019 ProSoundWeb article on Theatrmix 200th Episode Live in Nashville TN, March 8th - Free TicketsThis episode is sponsored by Allen & Heath, and RCFJoin our Discord Server and our Facebook Group, and Follow us on InstagramPlease check out and support The Roadie Clinic, Their mission is simple. It's a busy episode, this one. It's a great interview with Chris's father-in-law Howard, who had his first professional gig as a jazz saxophonist on New Year's Eve 1959. We talk about the appearance and subsequent domination of rock & roll over traditional jazz, performing across Europe, and his love of the jazz and blues clubs of New Orleans. If THAT wasn't enough, Chris and Alex discuss the recent NHS gig at Gorilla by The Charlatans, dignity-stripping encounters with famous people, and an exclusive interview with James and Ian from EMF - not to mention a chat about the upcoming live episode with Tony Walsh and James Holt at The Deaf Institute as part of Tim Burgess's Vinyl Adventures Mcr on Sunday 5th December. Phew!

When love is real but doesn't seem to last, we "gird our loins" and get on with our lives - or perish. "Gird your loins" is a line from the movie "The Devil Wears Prada" with Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci. The subtitle is Hell on Heels. Some years ago I wrote a screenplay and entered it in the 7th Annual International Screenplay Competition organized by the American Screenwriters Association and Writer's Digest. It took one year to write. I was speaking with agents. It was later retitled Married to a Mensa. Even though it didn't win any awards I received a Certificate of Participation which made me very happy. Thank you for listening. The Devil Wears Prada - Plot (source: Wikipedia) Andrea "Andy" Sachs is an aspiring journalist newly graduated from Northwestern University. Despite her ridicule for the shallowness of the fashion industry, she lands a job as junior personal assistant to Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, a job that "millions of girls would kill for". Andy plans to put up with Miranda's excessive demands and humiliating treatment for one year in the hopes of getting a job as a reporter or writer somewhere else. At first, Andy fumbles with her job and fits in poorly with her gossipy, fashion-conscious co-workers, especially Miranda's senior assistant, Emily Charlton. After a dress trial meeting in which Miranda berates her in front of the entire team, she approaches art director Nigel to help her learn the ropes in the world of fashion. She begins to dress stylishly and starts showing effort for the position, accommodating all of Miranda's whims and fancies. Problems arise in her relationship with her boyfriend, Nate, who increasingly finds her spending all her time at her new boss's beck and call. Miranda starts to notice Andy's changed appearance and commitment and begins to give her more responsibility and complicated tasks to handle. Slowly but surely, Andy becomes more glamorous and begins aligning herself, unwittingly at first, to the Runway philosophy. She gradually begins to outperform Emily at her job. Emily, meanwhile, is consumed with the thought of attending Paris Fashion Week as Miranda's assistant, and starts to lose her health by attempting extreme diets. At a charity benefit, she fails to provide information about a guest making his way to meet Miranda. Andy manages to save Miranda from embarrassment and is rewarded by being asked to replace Emily as Miranda's assistant at Fashion Week. Miranda tells Andy to inform Emily that she won't be going to Paris, but when Andy calls Emily, Emily is hit by a car and ends up in the hospital. Andy then tells the recovering Emily the news and Emily is infuriated. When Andy tells Nate she is going to Paris, he is angered that she has become what she once ridiculed, and they break up. In Paris, Andy learns from Miranda herself about her impending divorce. Later that night, Nigel tells Andy that he has accepted a job as creative director with rising designer James Holt. Further, Andy spends the night with an attractive young writer, Christian Thompson, who reveals to her that Miranda is set to be replaced by Jacqueline Follet as editor of Runway. Feeling bad for Miranda in her current situation, Andy attempts to warn her but does not manage to get through.

James Holt and Inez Hargaden are your spotlight artistes this week. Multi-intrumentalist James Holt transcends to Indie-pop greatness with his newest single release Little Green Light. This song has clearly everything it needs to break James Holt into the higher echelons of music makers. In quite stark contrast to James Holt's toe tapping track is the gentle sounds of Inez Hargaden. Inez's bell like clarity vocal delivery with plaintive guitar melodies is reminiscent of faraway singer/songwriter tunes. However, there's a newness and fresh breeze running right the way through her song. Moving on through the show despite Tobin's hangover, we meet Winston Surfshirt. This causes a sense of disagreement in the studio as the two boys try to reach some common ground. Agreed the title of the band is epic, but the vocals at least cause some division. It's New Music so there's a saving grace that Richard may warm to Winston Surfshirt in future. Dillon is our bookend artist for this week and opens with the classic tune Hey Beau. Tobin fills in the gaps about this photography student-cum-excellent musician. Furthermore, Tobin introduces us to Sleepertrain which proves so inspirational to Richard that he has gone and listened to the whole EP. In addition to listening to it, he's recommending it. So Tobin has better luck with his music choices this week after surviving a recent grudge match with Richard. As if that lot wasn't enough to satiate even the most voracious musical appetite, we include Venezuelan legend Daniel Grau. The father of jazzanova is back after a thirty year hiatus with the epic El Magic Mundo de Daniel Grau. Our choice off of this essential recording is Andromeda. Listen to the show to find out what we think of this future classic. Plus, next week we have some very big news to announce on the show. So, settle in with this week's show before the storm arrives.
“Something stays pure and stays unchanged. So if you go through time, it will be heard and said the way it was hundreds of years ago.” In this episode, James Holt (Nez Perce) talks about lifeways, intergenerational trauma, and Nez Perce endurance.
We have a special guest on today to talk about missions and missionaries. How should the ordinary church goer think about missions and how can they support their missionaries as best they can? James Holt is here to provide some first hand knowledge of what that looks like from the receiving end of missionary support.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormonism) differs from mainstream Christianity in various ways. Some Christians, including Bill McKeever of Mormonism Research Ministry, say that LDS believers have an unbiblical view of Grace - the free gift of forgiveness by Christ. James Holt, a UK Mormon involved in academic research with the LDS Church, responds to Bill on questions such as whether verses in the Book of Mormon requires believers to do 'works' for salvation and Bill's challenge that the Mormons he meets don't have assurance of salvation.
