- YAGNI: You ain´t gonna need it. - Simplest thing + Baby steps. - Separation of Concerns. - DRY : Don´t repeat yourself. - Code for the manteiner Si conocés alguna otra que deberíamos comentar, te invito a compartirla. Life is complicated. Or is it? Life is simple; however, we complicate it with our choices. Since we make it more difficult, we can also make it simple. Ready to learn how? In this episode of Life, Lemons & LemonDrops hosts Greer and Whitnie discuss the benefits of simplifying your life. In recognition of National Simplicity Day, which was created to unshackle people from the complications and the hustle and bustle of daily life, we discuss the value of slowing down and enjoying what life has to offer when you're not overburdened with, well… life. Using Whitnie's 8-step formula, the duo walks through S-I-M-P-L-I-F-Y and provides examples of how you, too, can apply the basic principles to reduce stress, clutter, and hassle from your life and the world around you. Systems. Love 'em or hate 'em every industry has them. And shepherding is no different. As Chapter 5 of our Head Shepherd's book 'Sheep Shepherd Dog - Building a Magnificent Team Around You' reveals. In this series of conversations with the author, and veteran shepherd, Chris Farnsworth this is not just an audio book. His stories from the farming world and Raising the Baa's client programmes bring the theory to life in an engaging and often humorous way. In this episode we discuss why systems are integral to teamwork, whether that team is the shepherd, his dog and sheep or a more traditional business team. Chris explains a couple of his sheep handling systems which, in his opinion, need to be simple for a shepherd. Occasionally someone has to step in to his shoes or a student might be helping Chris. For these circumstances Chris needs a system that can be easily understood and readily usable by a third party. Likewise when employing an apprentice or first jobber, it accelerates their induction if they can quickly adopt the system. Or indeed challenge it. A fresh mind can look at things differently and may bring about an improvement. It's important that we remain open to others' perspectives and to allow time to discuss them. What systems have you got in place? Is it time to view it from a different angle to make it simpler, faster, smoother? If this episode prompts any questions, Tweet us or email caroline@raisingthebaa.com and we'll ensure it is answered in a future episode.Enjoy - and thank ewe for listening :-)Connect with the speakers via LinkedIn:Caroline Palmer - Top Dog and co-founder, Raising the BaaChris Farnsworth - Head Shepherd and co-founder, Raising the Baa & author of 'Sheep Shepherd Dog - Building a Magnificent Team Around You'
In this episode, The old saying KISS (Keep it Super Simple) is appropriate here. Language can be very simple. It is best used with the fewest words needed to completely convey a message. It is also important to understand that communication is the goal and nothing else.If you use words or structure your listener does not know, you fail in your objective. Language is not intended to obfuscate but instead to illuminate. Also, your tonality and pacing are important in creating understanding. Our lives have us in a constant state of motion. We're moving from one responsibility to another, and sometimes our calendar can control us not the other way around. One way to keep control of your own progress is to remember to KISS, or Keep It Super Simple. I prefer to think of the acronym like this other than the Keep It Simple Stupid term most of us know. We are not stupid, just crazy busy working on our best selves. Sometimes a gentle reminder to Keep It Super Simple is all we need to get back on track.
The theme of this podcast is KISS: Keep it Simple! But why? Check it out in this episode as Colton and Joel explain why you have to keep it simple. Hi Guys, welcome to the podcast. In the debut episode I talk about the time when I was 25 and 26 years old and I worked for the Championship New York Yankees. I was The Massage Therapist and Healer for the team for two years and travelled full time with the squad. It was a huge huge adventure, and provided some valuable life lessons at a time when I was still being shaped into a man. Here are 6 things I learned at a young age, while working with The New York Yankees.1. KISS Keep it Simple Stupid -Simplicity is Purity2. Come Back Tomorrow- losing is part of life, come back to win the next day 3. You Gotta have Antenna 30 feet out of your head -everything is energy 4. Just Shut Up and work hard when you are young- be humble and train consistently5. Be HUNGRY- have energy in your eyes6. Ice Water in The Veins- We train to master our own mind My illustrious career has allowed me to build incredible connections with interesting, healers, scientists teachers and guides. Stay tuned for subsequent episodes, where I have discussions about the process of cultivating mastery. The Jai Sugrim Method, is all about living the best life possible, by modelling excellence and training positive habits.

Undoubtedly, our biggest problem is what we tell ourselves about our problems!!! The K.I.S.S. principle is a choice that makes life delicious!!!
From starting investing in 2013 to achieving a 6-figure portfolio by age 25, there were a few investment principles I picked up along the way. Time can either be your best friend or you worst enemy, procrastination is the deciding factor for that one. Also, KISS (Keep it simple stupid), you don't need a sophisticated investment strategy to build long-term wealth, just time and discipline. A wiseman once told me, “You can control two things, how much you spend, and how much you earn, but controlling your spending is a whole lot easier!”. DM me on any platform listed at the bottom of the description or email me at wallstjunky@gmail.com for any questions or topic requests The quick and dirty to starting to invest: -Track your expenses for a month -Notice how much is spent excessively on things like food, drinks, etc. -Cut expenses by say, $50 (eat out twice per month and Starbucks once a week instead of two) -Open either a traditional brokerage account or contribute additional capital to company 401k -Just to list a few brokerage companies: TD Ameritrade, Fidelity, ETrade, Vanguard, Charles Schwab, and many more -The investment industry has gotten insanely competitive, as a result, most brokerages charge no commissions for Stocks or ETFs -Set up automatic monthly contributions into your brokerage account so you don't spend that $50 you saved in expenses! -Listen to the entire podcast and do your own due diligence on low-cost investment vehicles like ETFs, Index Funds, or even some Mutual Funds -Invest at all times (up markets, down markets, sideways markets), enjoy the ride! Don't try to time the market! ETFs discussed in this podcast: VUG - Vanguard's Large Cap Growth fund that focuses on passively investing in large-capitalization growth stocks. VTI - Vanguard's Total US Stock Market fund that attempts to replicate the total return of the US Stock Market VOO - Vanguard's fund that tracks the S&P 500 Favorite economists to follow: Mohamed A. You SUCK at starting habits! So do we. Turns out it's a super common thing to struggle with. This week we talk about a little "hack" that we can use to more mindfully create the habits we're after. It goes like this: Define your "entry point" to a habit. This is the first step you would take in completing a goal. Now stop, don't go any further. Focus on doing this entry point task daily until it in itself becomes a habit. Then, you'll work your way up over time. KISS (Keep it simple, stupid). Don't push yourself too hard.. relax and listen to this episode to learn more. About a very popular yet dreadful expression: “KISS: Keep it Simple Stupid” At least, it's a non statement. And it's misleading.
Jeanine and Mike are back in the pod. They had an intense cardio session cleaning their house and working on some projects. Talking about how you can definitely stay active and burn calories just by MOVING. They discuss how we are now 3 weeks into quarantine and by now it is imperative that everyone is settled into a routine specifically for your mental health. Jeanine goes into the different levels of fitness and how it is important not to overthink things initially. If you want to begin working on your health and wellness it should start with KISS (Keep it super simple) take a look at what your re currently doing and look for areas of improvement. Reduce sugar, white flour and junk food...only when you have been able to clean things up should you worry about selecting a specific diet or protocol . Its important to take it one thing at a time, one level at a time. Jeanine breaks it down into levels to help you better understand the process. All this and much more. 7. KISS: Keep it Simple, Saint! The desire to make the Christian walk complicated or specialized, by depending on mental understanding of the scriptures or approval from others, is often merely an expression of the arrogance of our adamic soul trying to control God. 8. Develop your Supernatural Senses. The more we depend on the Lord for Life, Guidance and for the meeting of all our needs, the more He tunes all of our senses to His wavelength. 9. Develop your Warfare Skills. Recognize, prepare and engage in battle with your enemies, the world, the flesh and the devil. Failing to engage surrenders that battlefront and makes you vulnerable. Practical Christianity as both Rest and Warfare can only be fully realized through experience. 10. Be willing to be out of control. The more you get to know God the more you will be willing to be out of control. We find out He's a really great God, that He's trustworthy, and that depending on Him is fully satisfying and exciting. KNOWING GOD is simple, but it's not easy. His Coming 2000 years ago removed every obstacle to our being able to enter into relationship, and every movement and revelation since has led each of us to this day, our opportunity to Know God, on His terms and in His time. Knowing God is being in an intimate relationship with Him in all aspects of our being, spirit, soul and body. As Believers, we already enjoy this relationship with God in our spirit. But in our soul and body we are still in the process of getting to know Him as He is. Though we already possess all the eternal life we ever will, this great relationship has not yet been worked out through our soul and body. As we accept the responsibility to join God in relationship, valuing Him and appreciating everything that He is, He changes us into His image, according to His unique plans for us.
6. Accept that God loves you as a unique individual, and wants what is best for you. Your value is not measured by what you can accomplish FOR Him, but by how much you depend ON Him. No comparisons are adequate to describe the satisfaction and contentment that awaits those who know their God. 7. KISS: Keep it Simple, Saint! Our expectations, beliefs and even how we spend our time will all be challenged as we follow on to Know Him, but hearing His heartbeat, seeing Him face to face, now, is worth every effort and struggle He challenges us with.
4. Don't put off until another time the freedom, healing and responsibility God wants you to experience now. Discover God's purpose for you now, in personal terms, then keep your focus on what He is doing in your life. Let Him be God, and you'll get along pretty well. 5. Acknowledge and submit to the sovereignty and jealous authority of God over your life. Let Him show you areas in your life where you are letting other people, or even your own beliefs, usurp the authority He has reserved for Himself. Here's a quick summary of 10 things that we can do to join God in His purposes for us now: 1. Be willing to change your beliefs. Question what you think you know, and let the Lord reveal His Truth. 2. Embrace your True Identity: You have already agreed to everything God is doing in, to and through you, so don't look for someone (including your self) to blame for the situation you're in or the mistakes you've made in the past. 3. Be objective about your temperament. Don't use your temperament as either an excuse to get out of doing something or a means by which you accomplish something for yourself or for God. 4. Don't put off until another time the freedom, healing and responsibility God wants you to experience now. Discover God's purpose for you now, in personal terms, then keep your focus on what He is doing in your life. 5. Acknowledge and submit to the sovereignty and jealous authority of God over your life. Let the Lord show you if there are areas in your life where you are letting other people, or even your own beliefs, usurp the authority He has reserved for Himself. 6. Accept that God loves you as a unique individual. Nothing outside of God can compare, so no comparisons are adequate to describe the satisfaction and contentment that awaits those who know their God. 7. KISS: Keep it Simple, Saint! Failing to engage in this battle surrenders that battlefront and makes you vulnerable in that area. 10. Be willing to be out of control. God gives us the training we need to be able to have confidence based on experience.

God really only wants two things from us: our Time and our Attention. First, we show up for class. Second, we work on the assignments He gives us. Persistence We join in God's purposes by sticking it out with Him. There will be many opportunities to settle for less, because good and better are always the greatest enemy of best. Saying “enough” to the Lord is rejecting His plan, and He deals quite precisely with us in these cases, often by giving us what we want — to be left alone. So commit yourself to enduring to the end, and don't settle for less than the absolute freedom and wholeness God intends for you. Patient Purposefulness Joining God as He works out His purposes in our lives enables us to rest and abide with confidence. When we know we're on God's side, we know the result is guaranteed and will be satisfying for both us and God, though it may be a hidden thing. We can face life's guaranteed trials and tribulations with excitement, waiting to see what God is going to do, knowing that all is under His loving control. And we can step up to the plate of our own lives, knowing that God is aligning our desires, dreams, goals and aspirations with His. Does What You Believe Work? Christianity is a personal relationship with a Personal God. 1. Be willing to change your beliefs. 2. Embrace your True Identity: “I am a spirit, I have a soul and I live in a body.” 3. Tonights show is about simplifying our lives, living from the present moment, dropping our emotional baggage, taking one step at a time and just all around Chillin, Maxin and Relaxin, and just Letting Go... In my own life, in working with my clients, I've seen so many times how often we are missing the mark simply by over thinking, over analyzing, not relaxing and being. Instead of allowing our good to come to us we think we have to chase it down and kill it! Its just not true, lets learn how to be instead of how to get, lets learn how to experience peace rather than exhausting ourselves, lets be lovers and do as we will....
