Vi dykker dybere ned Robin Hood-filmene 'The Adventures of Robin Hood' (1938), 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' (1991), og 'Robin Hood: Men In Tights' (1993) Værter: Tobias Gilbert, Martha Sofie Wallstrøm Hansen, Otto Troels-Smith & Sarah Eline Nygaard

The Torah portion of Mishpatim, which is focused on a collection of laws and ethical guidelines for social justice, finds a compelling parallel in Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Mishpatim offers laws that cover a wide range of societal interactions, from the treatment of slaves to property rights, showing an overarching concern for justice and moral behavior. In Huckleberry Finn, Huck's journey down the Mississippi River represents a moral quest where he grapples with the ethical teachings of society, especially in regard to slavery and his relationship with Jim, a runaway slave. Just as the laws in Mishpatim aim to create a fair and just society, Huck's internal conflict and ultimate decision to help Jim escape slavery mirrors the Torah's call for compassion and moral clarity, even when the prevailing societal norms encourage actions that contradict justice. Both the Torah portion and Huck's story ask profound questions about what it means to do what is right, even in the face of societal pressure or injustice.

But before his rise and fall from fame, JTT was born on September 8, 1981, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He grew up in a household with his parents, Stephen and Claudine, and his older brother, Joel. As you know JTT got his feet wet with acting from a very early age, having made appearances in various commercials, his first official gig came as a voice role for the titular character of Spot in the US version of 'The Adventures of Spot'. In 1990, he made his acting debut playing the role of Kevin Brady on the TV series 'The Bradys', which itself was a spin-off of the 1970s show 'The Brady Bunch'.

What is the experience of reading English literature in Spanish? 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer' is the classic fictional account of carefree youth in the American antebellum south. We follow Tom and his faithful companions through adventures of piracy, playing hooky and finding buried treasure. The book evokes the childlike naivety/innocence that we all once experienced as well as the superstitions and simple mindedness of the people in the American south.Kyrin had this to say of the tale. "I read the translated Spanish version of this book and the iconic Mark Twain style still resonates throughout. He is amazingly witty and the storytelling from scene to scene is superb. I highly enjoyed the adventures and also gained more respect of Samuel Clemens after learning about his own adventures through his life. A superb book written by a superb human being!"Timeline:(0:00) - Introduction and overview(2:20) - Childlike naivety and innocence(5:24) - Superstitions and simple mindedness(11:22) - Reading Mark Twain in Spanish(13:58) - Amazing storytelling and an amazing person(16:39) - A superb book(17:02) - Pragmatic takeaway: become a doerAs always, we hope you enjoy, Mere Mortals out!Connect with Mere Mortals:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meremortalspodcastSupport the show

The creator of 'The Adventures of Tintin', Hergé, willingly worked for Nazis for years. He's one of the most beloved comic artists in history, deservedly so, but many fans don't want to discuss this dark aspect of his career. For years he produced his long-running comic, 'The Adventures of Tintin,' for Nazi-run magazines in German-occupied Belgium and even collaborated closely with Nazi-sympathizers. Was he himself a Nazi sympathizer, or just struggling to survive in the tumultuous world of comics, made twice-difficult by being thrown into the stage of the Third Reich's European land-grab? And should this fact be acknowledged as a troublesome part of his legacy? On this episode of Deep Cuts, we dive into the history of Hergé's career and the creation of one of the most beloved comic book characters ever made. 01001000 01101001 01101100 01101100 01110011 01101101 01100101 01110010 00100000 01101001 01110011 00100000 01100001 01101110 00100000 01101001 01101101 01110000 01101111 01110011 01110100 01100101 01110010 00101110  Learn more about your ad choices. After the battle that Terry Gilliam had to endure to release 'Brazil,' it's a shame that his next movie ended up being another debacle. From producer problems to studio exec switcheroos to plain old bad luck, 'The Adventures of Baron Munchausen' was a tough film to get made. Join us — Pete Wright and Andy Nelson — as we continue our Terry Gilliam series with this beautiful but troubled film. We talk about what works in the film and what doesn't work in the film, and what likely were the real problems that didn't help the movie ever find its audience at the time. We chat about the brilliant actors all through the film — including young roles for Uma Thurman and Sarah Polley, as well as a deliciously funny Oliver Reed — and what they brought to the table. We discuss the problems this film had in getting made and yet really only scratch the surface. We talk about how the film did financially and contemplate how it ended up being the lowest grossing film on our list of films we've discussed. And we look at how the film works for us while looking also at how it works for children and wonder if perhaps this film will always be better when first seen through the eyes of a child. It's a fun film that's stunning to look at but full of story problems all the way through, but that doesn't stop us from having a great time talking about it. Tune in!* * *Hey!
