Zak Mir talks to Fulcrum Metals CEO on reprocessing strategy and TR1 activity

In this interview, Zak Mir speaks with Fulcrum Metals CEO Ryan Mee about the company's progress in reprocessing a legacy gold mine in Canada, recent TR1 filings showing increased investor activity, and what lies ahead for the company.Fulcrum has boosted gold recovery from around 59% to over 70%, now also recovering silver, using a zero-cyanide, zero-waste process with six-hour leach times. Recent drilling has lifted gold-equivalent grades by 8% to 0.7 g/t, supporting a mineral resource estimate expected in early 2026.Fulcrum Metals has quietly been reshaping its story: moving from a conventional explorer to a technology‑led developer focused on recovering gold and critical minerals from historic tailings. Recent test results, shareholder activity and a tightening register have put the company on the map. Here's what matters and why this transition could be significant for the company and the wider mining sector.Mining Indaba in Cape Town - from Feb 9–12.Fulcrum Metals' senior management will be in Cape Town from February 9–12 for the Mining Indaba conference. If you'd like to meet and learn more about our environmentally friendly tailings reprocessing strategy, please get in touch. Why the pivot to tailings mattersTailings projects tap previously mined material rather than digging new pits. That has three immediate advantages: Lower environmental footprint — using existing material reduces disturbance and can avoid new land clearances. Faster access to ounces — infrastructure and mineral concentrations are already known, which shortens timelines. Opportunity to recover multiple metals — tailings often contain not only gold but also silver and critical elements that were not recovered economically in the past. The Extrakt technology: cleaner, simpler, scalableFulcrum has partnered with a proprietary process referred to as Extrakt. The core claims are simple but powerful: a single process that is zero cyanide and zero waste, capable of recovering gold alongside valuable co‑products such as tellurium, gallium and silver.  Located in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada. Part of the Teck-Hughes historic gold mine. Milled circa 9.6 million tonnes of ore and produced circa 3.7 million ounces of gold between 1917 and 1968. Project consists of 7 mining claims over 112 hectares Working with Extrakt to use its technology to sustainability extract gold from the Teck-Hughes' tailings. Early bench testing delivered initial gold recoveries around 59%. More recent Phase 3 testwork has produced results in excess of 70% for both gold and silver, with further optimisation underway. In addition, extended leach testing is targeting critical minerals such as tellurium and gallium — potentially transforming the economics by increasing the project's gold‑equivalent grade.Phase 3 and the rise of co‑productsPhase 3 is the pivotal study for Fulcrum. The company has already flagged preliminary Phase 3 results and expects further announcements in the near term. Key takeaways: Higher recoveries — movement from ~59% to +70% indicates the process is maturing. Co‑product potential — tellurium, gallium and silver could materially boost gold‑equivalent grades and project NPV. Zero cyanide, zero waste — if the claims hold at scale, this could be a disruptive environmental and permitting advantage. Market response and share register dynamicsThe market has noticed the progress. Share price momentum pushed the company near one‑year highs and produced notable insider and institutional activity. Several TR1 filings showed increases from investors including Metals One, Nick Nugent and Ian Bagnell, amounting to just over 26% combined. Directors retain roughly 19% of the register, tightening ownership and aligning incentives. At the time of reporting, the stock was up about 30.51% year‑to‑date, with a market capitalisation of around £11.09m. That performance suggests growing investor appetite for technology‑driven, lower‑impact resource plays.Valuation perspective and upside potentialThe company's projects host an estimated 200,000 ounces of gold. Using a bullish gold price reference quoted by management (~US$5,000/oz at the time), the in‑situ metal value can look large on paper. That said, there are important caveats: Resource estimates need to be converted into economic reserves. Process performance at bench scale must be proven in pilot and commercial operations. Recovery of co‑products and their marketability will materially influence economics. In short: the combination of a credible resource base plus a potentially disruptive extraction method creates meaningful upside if the technology scales and regulatory, permitting and commercial hurdles are cleared. What to watch next Phase 3 final results — confirmation of sustained >70% recoveries and consistent co‑product yields. Pilot test plans — announcement of pilot or demonstration plant timelines and budgets. Commercial agreements — off‑take, offtake partnerships for co‑products, or licensing deals for the Extract process. Register movements — further institutional interest or increased insider holdings that signal confidence. Bottom lineFulcrum Metals is positioning itself as more than a gold explorer. By combining tailings assets with a zero‑cyanide extraction method and the prospect of multiple recoverable metals, the company is aiming to offer a cleaner, faster route to value. The next tranche of Phase 3 results and any pilot‑scale confirmations will be the most important value inflection points to watch.

Most flour today is milled for shelf life, not flavor or nutrition. Cairnspring Mills set out to flip that script. Co-founder & CEO Kevin Morse explains how the company created a premium craft flour category by contracting regeneratively grown, higher-margin grains directly from farmers and stone-milling to retain flavor and nutrients, winning over top chefs and bakeries nationwide. We cover the growth story ($5.1M → $6.4M → pacing $7.9M), why demand is pulling them to expand capacity, and the plan to build a dramatically larger mill in Pendleton, OR (with the Umatilla Tribe) as part of a future network of regional mills. Kevin breaks down how “regional at scale” works (quality, resilience, and local grain identity), the sales playbook (foodservice-led; DTC and retail ramp), and opportunities in co-branded “Milled by Cairnspring” products. If you care about better bread—and better agricultural economics—this is a blueprint for rebuilding a staple industry.Highlights include…Why industrial roller milling strips flavor & nutrition—and how stone milling restores both Direct farmer contracts, regenerative practices, and paying for milling/baking quality (not just protein) Growth: $5.1M (2023) → $6.4M (2024) → ~$7.9M (2025E) Capacity expansion: Pendleton, OR mill (with Umatilla Tribe) targeting ~110M lbs/yr Long-term vision: distributed network of regional mills (CapEx ≈ $40M per mill + granary) Go-to-market: foodservice first (~80%), plus DTC, retail, and co-brand opportunities Influencer flywheel: chef/baker adoption (e.g., Bianco, Tartine) → organic demand

Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins me to highlight the key milestone of the first development ore being milled at  Nicola Mining's Craigmont Mill located in Merritt, British Columbia.  Talisker announced on July 7th that the Company has commenced milling and processing of run of mine material from the Mustang Mine vein material extracted from the 1060 and 1075 development levels.  We unpacked this major positive milestone for the Company, and what the ramp up in to production will look like for the second half of this year.   Talisker continues to develop on the 1060, 1075, 1105 and 1120 levels with in-vein development active on the BK vein on the 1075 level and both the BK and BK9870 veins on the 1105 level. Long-hole drilling in preparation for the mining and extraction of the first stope is underway targeting the 3264 stope from the Alhambra vein located between the 1060 and 1075 levels. Blasting and extraction of the first stope is expected to occur later this week.   We review that main area of focus for the development declines and work up until this point in time has been in the unmined area, between the historically mined Bralorne  and King mines, now referred to as the Mustang Mine. We shift over to the measured ramp-up of throughput from mined ore at the Mustang Mine with throughput now above 200 tonnes per day (tpd) and the goal to get that up to 250 tpd by year-end.  Moving into next year it is anticipated that throughput can rise from 300 tpd, up to 500 tpd, and then eventually 750 tpd in the years thereafter.  That will involve pulling in material from the unmined areas between the historic Bralorne and Pioneer mines as a second eventual area of focus.   In addition to being amenable to toll milling at nearby processing centers with spare capacity, there is a second study underway looking at upgrading the ore on site using ore-sorting technology, so that higher-grade material, with less associated waste would make it more economical to be shipped to additional processing centers. An economic study is slated for later this year that will explore some of these concepts in more detail. Wrapping up we discuss the key milestones and news on tap for the balance of this year.   If you have any follow up questions for Terry then please email me at Shad@kereport.com.   Click here to follow the latest news from Talisker Resources

Bettinardi released its new HLX 5.0 Forged wedges and I get down to reviewing them. The HLX 5.0 are really soft with a slightly rounded shape and very high end milling. They are extremely soft and allow maximum versatility around the green. Cleveland Golf has been making quality milled putters for a few years. This year they have added an upgraded UST Mamiya All-In shaft for added stability.

Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Melissa: Please help me my daughter is 29 vegan eats healthy and take supplements. for a year and a half now in the very middle of her lip it feels like a knot and it certain times it swells up Hué Mongus had a bops recently they didn't biopsy right where it's at they biopsy next to it because the surgeon said whatever is in that is in the same area and it showed nothing can you please give us an idea how we can get her lip to go down? They had recommended Pepcid and antihistamines which she's done so many and nothing ever worked they also recommend to do the same thing again and add prednisone that because of her past eczema which was recently healed and her past acne were really really too scared to go with prednisone any suggestions please please please thank you   Lisa: Hi! I love your podcast and appreciate you answering our questions! I came off the birth control pill 6 months ago and since I have stopped it, I am now up 9 pounds. Is this normal post birth control pill? Is there anything else I should be doing? Not sure if this is just water retention or bloating and will go away as my body gets used to not relying on birth control. Any insight would be helpful!   Sharon: Hi Dr Cabral, my daughter keeps getting a pain on her right side, just below the rib cage on her back. it's been going on for a while now. Her bilirubin is high and her skin has a yellow tint. She's thinking it could be her gallbladder. What are your thoughts on this? Is there anything she can do or a supplement she can take? She did a 7 day detox a few weeks ago. (However, this has been happening before the detox) Thanks for your help & all that you do.   Sharon: You've done a lot of research on wheat & gluten. I'm wondering, In those studies, did you also find out if they were eating the wheat/gluten from the store bought flours or if they were eating freshly milled flour from the wheat berry? You have to know that the flours in the store have been stripped of all their nutrients & fiber then “enriched” with 4 or 5 synthetic vitamins. Diseases became way more prevalent when they started doing this to flour. Freshly milled, has a ton of nutrients and fiber. Only missing a few nutrients to make it a “complete” food. It's very Biblical as well. I'm curious to know if their studies were on the store flour, fresh milled flour, or both, independent from one another. Please help   Anonymous: Hi! Firstly thank you for all your wisdom over the years. You have helped me so much on my health journey. I have been thinking about my rain barrel and tracking the progression of my health issues over the years. As a child I had asthma, weak immune system, very lackluster and thin hair, and a lot of allergies to dust, pollen etc. As a teenager I ate a lot of sugar and developed insulin resistance. I still had allergies, but also got bronchitis, alopecia areata. In my 20s, i started getting skin issues, brainfog, water retention in face, androgenetic alopecia, and a lot of food allergies to lectins, salicylates and histamine foods. I have performed tests and i have insulin but no parasites, candida or sibo. However, i have leaky gut which i am trying to heal. Creating a timeline has me wondering, is it possible to have leaky gut or histamine intolerance as a child? Also do you have any thoughts on this progression (no medical advice ofcourse, just interested in your perspective).   Jenny: Hi Dr. Cabral -What makes some people more susceptible to mosquito bites than others? Is it blood type, diet, etc.? When outside in the summer and fall I consistently get multiple mosquito bites (and sometimes they swell) when others I'm with with do not. I do have your recommended bug repellant, Herbal Armor, but I haven't been using it everytime I go outside. I'm just curious why I seem to be extra susceptible and also looking for your recommendation to stop the itch.
