Get driven with a listen. Emmanuel Ayiku talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast Emmanuel Ayiku holds a Masters in Higher Education & Divinity and a Masters in Leadership and Human Development with a bachelor's in public relations and a minor in marketing. He holds the nonprofit Unseen Potential (UP). He started out in nursing because being African (Ghana) the 3 main carers pushed are engineering, health care or business ownership. Doing a job for the “safety net” “job security” factor is a trap many people fall into. Mr. Ayiku figured out he had no real interest in anatomy and therefore a safe nursing career did not fit into his future plans. Motivation is a feeling, while a Drive keeps you pushing forward from within. Discipline provides structure in life. Sometimes we can hear something important, but don't receive it and so there is no impact. The greatest battle is the person you are now and the person that they are capable of becoming. What sets your soul on fire? Can that be turned into a career to make money? Going from point A to B will have many obstacles so you must have a drive to get through it but also a deep WHY and write those down so you can revisit them when the troubles occur. This is also where a high power, a coach, counselor etc come in handy to help you process these moments. We can't live for the applause of people, what happens when that ends? Podcast awards, nominated host, and best selling off drawn Amazon. As we get a behind the curtain look at all types of doctor and guest specialties, let's hear a doctor's perspective. Welcome back to the show. Today's guest has two Master's degrees and is the creator of Unseen Potential. It's, uh, mostly coaching for personal development. But before we jump into that, please head over a doctor's perspective.net/guide. You can find all of the podcast swag, the books I've written all the best episodes of each year, ranked by download. Found out this show is in the top 5% of all podcasts in the world. Super stoked about that. Other than that professional note, did a lot of scoliosis for two years, and now I plan to dive a little deeper with some, uh, special bracing and see what that leads. It's a fun crowd to work with. The results are pretty good that people get quite satisfied when they can avoid surgery, so that should be. Doing house calls, setting up that table all the time. Get bothersome. Sure. But overall it's okay. And we have some episodes in the past. If you search that mobile, we've had enough people where I should probably just make another series PDF to highlight these people because they can really teach you a lot. It is pretty fun cuz you get to see areas. Area you live in that you would've never gone to and see different kind of housing styles. And, uh, people are very appreciative that you're, you'll come to their house. So it's been a unique experience this past year. But listen, let's just jump back in. Miss Emmanuel has been very kind. If you hear this episode and you're interested, he will do a 20 minute discovery call for free to see what's going on with you, if y'all would be a good fit and all of that.

If you are frustrated with the soaring prices of healthcare and feel confused or powerless to make changes that benefit the average person, then listen to Dr. Gilbert Simon talk about his book Ripped Off. Dr. Gilbert Simon, MD talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast #1 Myth of Universal Healthcare is it's Socialized Medicine If you are like many people, aren't those interchangeable terms? Find out the 3 different systems - compared and contrasted. Really though, universal kind of just means everyone gets it, like universal K-12 education. #2 Myth, The American Healthcare System is Number One We are 11th out of the top 10 countries that are similar to ours. Life expectancy is that of Costa Rica. #3 Myth. Healthcare would be Free Wrong. We would pay for it by taxes. One benefit of universal healthcare is that every hospital would be ‘in-network' so you would not have to worry about which one is going to give you surprise exorbitant bills. Is there some way to CAP the Profit that health insurance companies could make? He mentions that other countries do cap how much the C-levels can make by a multiple of the lowest paid worker. SO, we can't set the amount but by the ratio. Even worse that insurance companies is the Pharmaceutical companies. How is that Medicare and Medicaid have different drug prices? How much do politics play a role in prices and competition. Out of Network Charges but In Network Hospital Services What is the back story of how you can to an in-network hospital but still get seen by out of network providers and yet we are still on the hook for those rates? What are the 3 General Types of universal healthcare? Our GDP spends 8% on healthcare which is double other similar countries. Price Transparency There are laws that hospitals have ot post their prices but with the complexity and surprises of the human body, it's hard to say just what a gallbladder removal will cost. It's not as easy as saying all gall bladder removals in New Orleans will cost $400 (made up price). Why the shift from private practice to being a hospital employee affiliate? 70% of doctors are no hospital employees. Part of it has to do with all the red tape and hassle of getting paid for legitimate services provided. How do we get the EHR to talk to each other and transfer data so that redundant tests are not ordered and the doctor gets all the information they need without doing unnecessary expensive tests. 12% of the workforce is in healthcare and most of those are not administering patient care. Is it true that big pharma has slush funds set aside for the lawsuits from drug reactions? Ask yourself and politicians, do you know it's broken, if so whats the course of action to fix the problem? Thanks descript! Live from Louisiana and Sacramento, California. Today on the show, we have a doctor who's been doing this thing for 50 years as primary care. In the eighties, probably in the nineties, he was serving 40,000 low income patients. And over all that. He decided to write a book and it's called ripped off. It's about being overt, tested overtreated and overcharged pretty much kind of makes the case that maybe we should maybe go universal healthcare, how that could work out and just all the blah money that has been spent in a poor way. So I'm excited to dive in, please. Welcome Dr. Gilbert, Simon. Okay. Thank you, Justin. So the career span half a century, it really does. Yes. 53 years, actually, once you, once you passed 50 years stop county, but it was 50, 53 years. And there were years where I saw the, in the medical profession undergo tremendous change. Time to learn about fine needle aspiration and cytopathology with Dr Celina Nadelman. She has a private practice and that is a rate situation. Get inspired and enjoy her episode. Dr. Celine Nadelman, MD talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast How does one go from psychology (neuroscience), art and then switch it up and go into medicine? Dr. Nadelman even spent multiple years in Italy developing her artist vibes but ultimately the practice of medicine is an art as well as a science so the two melded nicely. Some people know they want to not only do medicine but which specialty from high school age, but she was a bit unsure and had to try out a few things to figure out that Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) pathology was her best fit. When she was in the process of residency, the big push was primary care but through a series of events and personal contact she found that pathology was her path. She was also a talented surgeon but with her desire to have a family and balance family with the surgery responsibilities, Dr. Celina decided that wasn't her path. Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy Smallest needle possible, getting a smear of tissue, looking at in the microscope and determining what it is you have. It's the smallest amount of tissue needed to make a diagnosis. Pathologist is the Doctor's Doctor A lot of anatomical pathology is pattern recognition. You know what it is supposed to look like and in what location and then you start to recognize what's wrong and what patterns wrong have. Her specialty is cytology aka thyroids and head and neck tumors. She has her own private clinic doing FNA biopsy but it's a pretty rare thing and Dr. Nadelman is hoping a platform like A Doctor's Perspective Podcast will help others to do the same thing. It is a little hard to be private because you compete against the hospital pathologists. A problem is that any MD can do a fine needle aspiration but many many times they don't get enough readable material, or it's full of blood (bad) and both make it difficult to make a correct and confident diagnosis. Having to get more than one biopsy is not a pleasant experience for the patient and in her private practice, she can get the sample, smear it on a slide immediately and put it in under the microscope she has in the room to make sure it's readable. (Rapid On Site Evaluation). She gives a great story around minute 18 about a case that she did that required a second FNA because what she saq bedside would require extra tissue for further testing. This also saved the patient from having to come back to the office and from another pathologist reading it as, need more tissue for evaulation. Especially in this case it could have been a 1 year terminal diagnosis or not. Diagnosing normal and cancer is easy she says. The tough stuff are the tissues that are irregular and make you need to send out the sample to molecular specialist and beyond. Who is a good referral source for a private practice pathologist? Would it surprise you that she has to meet face to face with doctors, just like you do, so they refer to her instead of the hospital? Dr. Nadelman has been married for 24 years and this was during both of their professional school years and have 3 kids. Listen at the end for her marriage tips. A top tip is to not be in cruise control on your marriage. You have to engage each other in partnership. Also, don't be afraid to go to a counselor. www.drnadelman.com IG:drcanceranswerShow notes and the transcript can be found at https://adoctorsperspective.net/184 Dr. Celine Nadelman, MD talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast Full Transcript of the Interview (it will have grammatical errors and mistakes). What led an DMD/MD to create a virtual assistant company hiring medically trained Filipinos? Dr. Steven Kupferman talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast Steven Kupherman, DMD, MD, FACS (UCLA Med School, Harvard for Dental Medicine) tells his story of how he parlayed being a dentist and then continuing his education at medical school to be an Oral and Maxillary Surgeon. What drove him to do an extra 10 years of schooling? While he doesn't do root canals anymore, he can do facial traumas as well as non trauma cases of the face. Six doctors, 30 staff and he was the one doing most of the admin and hiring and firing and finding people to cover when someone is not in the office. Everyday someone was not in the office, whether it was sick, family obligations and so forth. What can a Medical VA do for you? It was 2018 that he started to dabble in VA's from the Philippines. He uses medical professionals like nurses and physical therapists etc to perform the admin tasks like verifying insurances, scrips, inventory, letters to other doctors and even answering phones in some cases. Scribe is one of the best uses of a VA. Also, nonone should be in your office calling insurance companies. It's good practice to record your training so that video can be sent to teh next hire and the next without taking up your time again. One resource for making calls is RingCentral and Zoom for the training. When to Hire? When is the best way to know when you should make your first medical virtual assistant hire? Replacing someone who quits is a great first step.If they don't touch a patient - it potentially could be outsourced Pay They get paid 1.5-2x the amount they would make in their country. Plus they get health insurance, paid time off, retirement options and other perks. Risk The Philippians virtual assistants have access to privileged patient information. The laws their are very strict and harsh if you misuse that information. Technically he says, the janitor that comes in after hours, the nurses on a regular basis, and all the people who have access to payments are all a risk as well to the clinic. Relationship Advice He got married young and not only a little bit of luck was involved but they grew together, had mutual respect and had the same ideals. www.medva.com Show notes can be found at https://adoctorsperspective.net/183 Full Transcript of the Interview (it will have grammatical errors and mistakes). So were you able to do like more riskier surgeries or like what happened there? dr steven: Well, you know, I, I when I was in college, I decided that I was gonna be a dentist. I have a few uncles who are a dentist and I just thought it would be, you know, a great profession to, to go into, and it is and so I went to dental school after college and then from college, Sorry [00:01:00] from, from dental school. You know, I was trying to think about what I was gonna do and what kind of dentist I'd be first. I thought I'd be a pediatric dentist. Cause I like kids.

Can a membership model work for Podiatry? Dr. Tea Nguyen discusses why she left insurance, avoided an early career burnout and is now offering more MIS options and non-surgical treatment in a direct care practice. Dr. Tea Nguyen, DPM talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast Dr. Tea was first on the podcast episode 28 and we do a quick recap of what was going on 5 years ago and how things have changed since leaving that clinic, having a kid and going to a direct care - cash - membership model of podiatry offering unique minimally invasive procedures. Once becoming pregnant, she found herself having some peculiar experiences at her insurance based associate positioned job. We discuss those as well as growth, freedom and flexibility issues. She began to consider opening a solo clinic to accommodate her new to be mother role and the flexibility that would grant her. However, she quickly found out about all the hats one must wear as the clinic owner. Insurance Headaches and Burnout Dr. Tea freely discusses the horrors of the insurance pay model, how and why she was losing money hand over fist in 2019, and the pinnacle moments that made her really question to continue and face burnout or make the shift to cash pay and no insurance. She has a few versions of herself: v1, v2 and now v3.0. These range from a surgery and insurance focus, to minimally invasive procedures, to another clinic and starting a podcast to help more podiatrists (especially women) to become direct care membership model clinics. Starting a clinic during the pandemic was not easy nor was being overstaffed for a variety of reasons and she explains what she did during this time to pivot and develop professionally and clinically. Minimally Invasive Surgery MIS, minimally invasive surgery, has perks like less overhead, patients are happy to not stay in a hospital and when she really critically thought about it all, she was the only one offering these services - so why be at the mercy of insurance. Dr. Tea, DPM has a pretty simple formula for calculating her hourly rate and cost for procedures. It's not her place to judge how someone budgets their money. She puts her prices on her website for transparency reasons and it also helps people make a decision before even calling. With the insurance model you don't even get to shop around because it's usually some line like “we don't know exactly what your insurance will cover” and then you find out months later that you have a huge bill. Reasons to do Membership - Direct Care Model Poor insurance reimbursement, accompanied by heavy patient load can lead one to feel exploited and burnt out much quicker than you would anticipate. Nobody wants a Surprise After The Fact Bill without Freedom To Choose. People Do want, peace of mind and convenience and a direct care doctor provides both. What services would you offer if insurance would actually reimburse for them that would give superior clinical results? Between needing to be efficient and maximize patient visits and services, how do we do what's best for the patient but also allow us to not burn out or not even make a living? Is there anything else we can offer (shockwave, PRP etc) instead of surgery? Insurance patients aren't as attached to the doctor, as the doctor is attached to the patient. Virtual Assistants to answer phones and do tasks are talked about at the end of the interview. here a few of the direct care rules I have looked over https://www.dpcare.org/state-level-progress-and-issues https://www.dpcfrontier.com/states https://boomcloudapps.com/2016/08/25/house-membership-program-state-regulations links to its no secret and her podiatry legends interview https://www.tysonfranklin.com/news/podiatry-legends/10989-198-dr-tea-nguyen-direct-care https://adoctorsperspective.net/itsnosecret link to the podiatry series https://adoctorspective.net/podiatry

Jillaine St Michel, DC talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast While working in a traditional brick and mortar higher volume practice, she quickly gained lots of experience but also learned some of the negatives of a traditional practice. This led her to pursue the mobile - house call - doctor comes to you - type of chiropractic practice. What is a good niche for mobile chiropractic? She noticed a niche in people who couldn't keep asking off from work and those who hated the traffic and commute to the doctor's office. As she crunched the numbers, she also realized that house call chiropractic could be profitable as well. You can offer services like: pinch and release, myofascial tools for muscles, kineisology taping, of course the adjustment, laser, rehab, stretches and ergonomics What kind of niche is a good idea to target for house call: individuals, corporate, small businesses or is anyone who actually wants the convenience of a mobile chiropractor good enough? Liability for a Business Having a Chiro there In a sue happy society, if you treat someone in a business, is that owner liable if the patient gets hurt? Can you just treat in a van or RV right off the premises? Can employees sign a waiver releasing the business of liability and consider it just a non-mandatory service that comes over once a month? (obviously she isn't a lawyer and all these questions are not answered completely. Seek professional advice for all law related questions) Although she does not use a camper, RV or van, what are some of the pros and cons that she has heard from being in the mobile chiro forum? Should you do paper or electronic notes? Any regulations with paper driving around town? How do we determine what the travel fee should be? I've heard of flat rates and different prices based on mileage from a center point. How do you schedule your day so you aren't bouncing from the north and south end of town 5 times a day? How automated can you get with scheduling, calls being answered, payments being made as well as automatic text or email reminders to schedule, appointment reminders and asking for reviews? What is a typical treatment plan for a house call chiropractor patient? Staying Safe in Other People's Homes Dr. St. Michel is obviously a women and now a mom, so of course we discussed dual-working parents, how are the roles divided and the nuances that women doctors usually have to deal with more than their male counterparts. Any corporate rates or discount rates for X amount of people or buy 5 get 1 visit free or a yearly fee? What precautions can you take so that you as the treating doctor feel safe going into a stranger's house as well as not being accused of inappropriate behavior? Dr. Jillaine gives 2 examples of her way to make sure she was physically safe during early years as a mobile chiropractor. The last two years have been intense for healthcare workers. With long hours, canceled vacation and strained home life, how do we manage mental health and what should we be aware of. Cardiac surgeon Simon Maltais, MD discusses his new book. Simon Maltais, MD talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast What trends do you find causing the most mental anguish for physicians and staff? How are they coping with a pandemic, overtime, extra stress and strained family life? What are some of the symptoms of maladapted health care workers mental health? Last year health care workers risked their life to help covid-19 patients and were seen as heroes and this year if a medical staff is skeptical about taking a vaccination they can be fired ... how do we make sense of this? A underpinning emotion with the way it's been politicized is that, health care workers feel a bit left out and lonely. We canceled vacation, risked our lives and now what. Are people being misdiagnosed or delayed diagnosis or delayed symptom onset of more serious heart issues because of the fear of corona virus? ICU beds are filled up, hospital resources are strained and that means surgeries that should be easier and quicker to access are delayed. When on call as much as many have been the past two years, has that led to burnout, being tired and perhaps not performing at the level the health care workers would expect from themselves and make mistakes? One of the unintended effects are highly experienced doctors retiring or quitting early and now the patients suffer and younger doctors don't get to learn from them. How are doctors and nurses handling home life when they are required to be on call or just plain work more hours than usual? How do you keep your family happy when at any moment you called back to work, this could be at your kids game, a wedding or even on your hard earned vacation? We must find a way to get relief from the High Alert State that we find ourselves in because it can damage our family and lead to mental health problems. Being called away from family vacation and date night and your kids game is a part of the doctor life and each time you do it, it can chip away at your family's foundation if you aren't proactive to mediate these disturbances. What can hospitals and clinics do to support the staff? Books: Healthcare Anonymous Dr. Simon Maltais is a cardiac surgeon and author of Healthcare Anonymous. He advocates for healthcare workers' mental and physical health. Dr. Maltais is has a doctorate degree in biomedical engineering and heart regeneration. Narcissism and Co-dependency: what are they and how do the co-mingle so often Narcissism: lack of empathy, dissatisfied with life, bouts of anger, always center of attention, self-obsession, thinking you are better than othersCo-dependency: people pleasing, not able to function without the other person Don't be surprised that a narcissist will gaslight a highly empathetic person who doesn't understand proper boundaries to get what they want and everything they can out of you. Commonly they will make everything your fault and not take any personal responsibility. What is Love Bombing and what - how - when does the switch get flipped? Fight - Love Bomb - Fight Cycle Fight - Love Bomb - Fight Cycle is all too common and even family and friends have a hard time getting the victim to understand that this is not healthy. Narcissist has a hard day. Other person does something and narcissist yells at them and then later instead of apologizing will say something like, I wouldn't have yelled at you IF YOU did not do xyz. Then the normal person feels guilty and tries to fix the situation. What are the warning signs when they are trying to separate you from your friends and family? Minisode 72 Video Creation Ideas and Restricted Content How to discover what videos to shoot for your own patients. Why embed them on your site with log in restrictions? Again, just want to thank you for choosing an end to these short minisodes today. It's about content creation for videos, that kind of alluded to this at the end of a, the last episode. But let's expand a little bit an easy thing. You can do is just bought, go online, go to YouTube, find some doctors that you like to watch, or physical therapist, whatever, and find videos that you enjoy. Are you think that I really show the exercises that you would want to teach a patient for whatever song? And you want and you can just link those. Like if you have an email list set up for low back patients, sciatica patients headache. Patients, older patients. You can curate your top six videos and drip those every day or every week to these patients. So, when they come in, you put in your software that they have this condition, and then they're on a certain email list and then those emails are set up with these videos so that they can watch them at their Leisure. You could potentially be also have a web page with say shoulder problems. And then, you just linked those videos in your bedroom in your site and then you get to go. Now if you want to take it to a step further and get your own views and have yourself look like the expert at home. Anyways, you just record you doing the exercises that you like to watch or the stretches. And the nice thing is, if you spend an hour or two watching different videos and different exercises, you can pick the top, whatever you like, top ten things that you like for low back pain and you can show them and you do like progressions and just you doing, it doesn't have to be high quality and all the bells and whistles, you know, just take out your smartphone. Have your staff help you record it off. You can actually send that the fiber and have someone put a logo to the front and the back and brand it, but your phone number in it and they can do that for you for a few bucks, maybe 5 or 10 bucks. That might be worth it because now you're going to get views and then you have it all in your web page, and you can email your own links to these people. And I think it's kind of nice cuz if you're if you're in a busy practice and you don't really want to do a lot of rehab, then you just tell patients, hey, this is a practice member only section of the web page. So if you're on WordPress, there's plenty of membership, site plugins some, that causes some that are free that you can go through, and I did get a course Builder from appsumo. That's for like an entire course. This is like, you can do like, a restrict content Pro. That's a one that I use, but you can just put it behind a a membership. So if there are patient, then you can give them the username and the password that they can access this area with member patient only information and that'll give you a lot more clicks on your site, more pageview time which is great for Google. So they'll say wow this is a really popular site because wage Actually watching the videos that they're supposed to be doing at their house. What do you think about this? What would you be recommending? If you want to leave a message in the, in the reviews or on Facebook, just took em, c, c, or whatever you want to do it, but let me know what were some of the exercises that you would give for headaches or back pain, knee, pain, shoulder pain and maybe we can get a, a list going. So takes the guesswork out for other body else and the easy button for everyone. If you're looking at ways to support the show, whether it's downloading a book or a couple of chapters buying, an electric acupuncture pen getting a a one-sheet for your speaking gigs or a curriculum vitae, the remodel redesign and do all of that for you is no problem. I believe it's a nice competitive price,

You can use affiliate links for different products that I use a class on Amazon, all those types of things. I really appreciated, okay? A short sales pitch for Justin today. Anyway, teach in Pitch, the beginning of the video, you got to do some kind of motion. I've heard things like throw a book, wave your hand, put something in front of the camera and you know, then drop it just something that it catches your eye, but you also want to do a cock logo. So within the first five seconds, has something to like catch their eye with your scrolling, through Facebook and Instagram and things. And then you want to have like a your logo pop up somehow, you know, fiber, you can get this done really cheesy. They have all sorts of styles that you can choose from people that do it on. Fiver is just a program and then they just type in whatever you want to put your logo in usually, as a p e file where there's a clear background and then they can animate it for you. They'll give you a few few samples for a few bucks, it's pretty convenient. Once you have that, you can use it, whatever you want. So anyway, you want it to be a square video square. And then less than two minutes. So there's that. So these you want to teach something it could be, you know, if you're a chef, I'm just saying. If you're a chef, you show them how to do a quick scrambled egg, a really good scrambled egg. So obviously, we're not chefs were talking about Chiropractic, physical therapy, so you can do like some quick wins. Do this to improve your neck range of motion today how to do a pelvic tilt throughout the day, I bought a strengthened your abs and pelvic girdle. If you set it up correctly, all you have to do is like say they agree and then whatever email phone and name that they have registered for Facebook, you'll get that as a lead they don't have to do anything else. Pretty much click. Yes. And then of course, your staff needs to follow up within 20 minutes that way. They don't forget why they even came, which apparently is a big deal but this can be scaled a lot really dead. And you can actually change this up based on the co-lead versus hot leads. So let me break down that for you for a second.

Implementation, red flags, and we discuss onboarding staff to get A players. Dr. Sabrina Starling of Tap the Potential shares so many nuggets you can implement. If you treat profit like a leftover you will never have profit and for many, not much of a salary neither. The business owner should not have to experience sleepless nights worrying about paying their personal expenses. Profit First in a nutshell. · Bank accounts: Income, Profit, Owner's Compensation, Taxes, and Operating Expenses· Tax and profit accounts at a different bank to make it more delineated and harder to spend· When you make a sale money goes to said accounts as follows: Taxes 15%, profit 15%, salary 25%, expenses 45-55%. (For 250-1m of revenue)· For sub 250k: Taxes 15%, profit 5%, salary 30%, expenses 45-55%.· Take 50% of amount in the profit account as a dividend quarterly.· Rainy day / emergency fund· Cutting expenses, up to a certain point The owner salary can eventually be a set dollar amount instead of percent because when the business makes enough money, you want to pay yourself in more tax advantage ways than to just keep it a percent. You can only cut a certain amount of expenses before you start letting key members of staff go or reducing marketing that is important. How do we deliver more value so we can charge more for our services. Hint: part of finding that balance is niching down. What mind-shift and best practices do we need to go from a sales- expense = profit model to the profit first model of sales- profit = expenses.? Some profit does have to be reinvested into the business, how do we know when enough is enough? She has the Tap The Potential Solution to handle implementing Profit First, On-boarding, and more business coaching needs.Owner salary is for the work they do in the business and the profit is your compensation for the entrepreneurial risk you bear. Line Of Credit Don't forget that a Rainy Day fund or Emergency Fund does need to be in place. Cash is king as they say and it really helps you to get a bank loan or line of credit for operating expenses or equipment purchases when the bank sees a cash reserve. Plus, they usually wont give you enough money without you putting up a certain percentage. Onboarding Employees What are the 5 components to hire the best and actually trust the employees so you can unplug for a week or two? What do employees most want so they stick around: coffee, sleeping pods, money, autonomy, the best micro manager? Best Ways to Train New Employees so we Hire the Best Why are task flow videos not quite the best way to train your new staff? Instead of videos to save you time, listen to her view on setting goals as to what makes an A List employee a year from now. Hire with a clearly defined role and someone who has the personality strengths to achieve the goals of that role. Then identify a clearing defined result that they are responsible for. Train this person for 1 clear role. For a receptionist it could be answering the phone for new patients and rescheduling. How do we become the Employer of Choice even If you are in a Rural Area?Where do the A players hang out: online and offline? What values in a person are you looking for? Tricia Nelson talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast Emotional eating can create the yo-yo effect of weight loss and weight gain. Many people overeat as a way to ignore pain, escape emotions, and punishment from the day. It's not about will power, you need a community and an action plan. Listen to the podcast episode. At first a person may just realize they need to lose weight and join a myriad of diet plans. They do the plan, lose the weight but the unfortunate happens. The root cause of why they overate pops back in their life or an emotional stressor happens, gain some weight back and now the Yo-Yo effect of gaining and losing weight begins. Diet plans can range from ‘traditional diets', weight loss pills, intense exercise etc coupled with counseling, 12 step programs, over eating groups and the like. Big problem with all these methods is they tend to focus on food and avoidance behaviors instead of finding out WHY it's happening on an emotional and trauma level. Emotional Eating vs Boredom Eating Boredom eating is habitual eating. It can be triggered by routines and mindlessness. It can also be a way to fill the silence and avoid thinking about stresses of the day or dealing with issues in our life, especially at night by yourself in front of a TV and the business of the day slows down.Emotional eating can be from stress and avoiding dealing with emotions. Busy mode keeps us from thinking about life and emotions and stress so when we have a silence part of the day, food can fill us and we don't have to process those feelings. When you are eating, overeating for sure, it can numb you out and you don't think, feel or need to process the drama of the day or what is coming. Many over-eaters are over feelers and super critical about themselves and about eating to much so it becomes a cycle. Start your day with a Centering Routine. Many of our overeating is due to stress. If we can have a list of things that may happen today then we can better plan for those stressful encounters throughout the day. A gratitude journal can be helpful too. Meditation, music, prayer, or journaling can be a centering routine. Get grounded and in tune with ourself first before tackling the day. This can be a deeply spiritual 20 minutes and those deposits early in the day can last and help you during those difficult times throughout the day. You can feed on teh truths of the morning instead of coffee, chocolate, chips, alcohol etc. (also taking a quick walk can help). PEP Test- What does the food do For us? Is this food going to service one of these functions, and if so don't eat at that moment. P: Pain Killer from emotions or issues w work,E: Escape from what needs to be dealt with ,P: Punishment from the day and being critical or guilt I lost control. I can't believe i just did it again. This can lead to self hatred and depression and begins the food addiction type of behavior where they can't course correct. Are there any foods you can over eat on that are less caloric dense? Counseling Counseling has it place when you have trauma and these coping mechanisms to deal with abusive people (parents as a kid for instance) that served you well as a child but are no a hindrance in your adult personality and adult relationships. Willpower is generally not enough. We need a support group, spiritual guidance and those type of things. Anatomy of an Emotional Eater: 24 traits explained in her book (people pleaser is #1) It can be hard to live with a chronic over-eater - dieter person because there is a lot of self absorbed behavior and when you feel bad about yourself you may not accept the love someone else is trying to give you as well as not want to be touched intimately. Fitness to Rehab is a system Dr. Teter calls "a linear load application continuum approach". Utilizing this method, the practitioner can take patients through a process that starts with injury care to soft tissue treatment to rehabilitative exercise. As opposed to tracking symptoms like most standards of care models Fitness to Rehab seeks to find where the root cause is coming from and address it. He built this program out of necessity when asked to create a collegiate fitness and wellness degree program from scratch. Ideal audience to learn from Dr. Justin Perspective :Physical Therapist who was doing joint replacement or strokes but is now on their own doing sports and athlete injuries. They like spinal manipulations but it's just a tool in their belt not the bread and butter like a chiropractor. They are in need of learning more exercises, a program, and a system to implement. Chiropractor is technique heavy (could be instrument based or not). They know rehab is important and gets paid by insurance so they want to learn more. Their current active care wheel house is... PNF stretches geared for home use, McGill big 3 and extremity problems are given Resisted ROM with resistance bands. Load Application Applying an external load to a biological organism, see how that person responds to that stress, and if they can get chronic and consistent exposure to that stimuli, then there will be some long term adaption. Big component of rehab to fitness is quantifying the load and stress that a particular activity has on a person and progressing and regressing them as time goes on. 6 Stages of Load Application for a Linear Care Continuum  Acute Management - Fundamental Kinematics - Motor Control - Functional Integration - Progressive Kinaesthetics - Foundational Capacity Dr. Teter walks us through a sprain/ strain ankle with what treatment would look like for this linear 6 step load application progression. Also he breaks down the process for a basketball player that needs to get back to jumping at a professional level.Do we need to take any prerequisite courses to understand rehab to fitness? FAKTR is recommended because it's like his class picks up where Dr. Todd Riddles ends. Dr. Tom talks about rehab but he really teaches fitness, while Dr. Todd talks about fitness principles but teaches rehab. We are biological creations designed to move that respond to stress loading in very specific and predictable ways. Each patient has different needs: one may only want better motor control but a basketball player needs functional control based on that sport. There is a deficit in function, that they need to improve upon, so they can be tolerant to the load of their day. Patient Profile - Need Analysis - Exam He even goes through a mock history of questions he wants answered and of course the goals the patients want to achieve and why or how they can't do them now. It's a nice patient profile he gives insight into. The needs analysis is figuring out what are the Functional needs and movements you have to do to perform normal function for their goal. Minimal Effective Dose What are the movement, fitness and skill tasks you need to do XYZ?Start off giving a person the Minimal Effective Dose that will get the desired results. People's Aliments Classified Broadly into 4 Categories Pathological (fractured, torn)Irritable (inflamed tissue)Dysfunctional (joint or tissue not injured but not functioning quite right and it hurts)Weak (joint, muscle etc is just not strong) Activity Intolerance - what is that one thing you want to do but pain is stopping you from doing it? Dr. Rob Pape, DC talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast Quadrant analysis helps practitioners navigate treatment based on a subclassification system breaking down biomechanical failure into traceable patterns. Dr. Pape was evidence based and patient centered before these were buzz words and before the internet made it easy to collaborate. It was like being on a chiropractic island and taking trips with different professions to iron out what he was seeing work. What is the reason that some doctors blame the patient when they don't get the results that the doctor assumes you would get? Should this be taught in schools with diagnosis and student clinic so they can apply these concepts (not cookie cutter programs)? This can help bridge the gap from being excellent at diagnosis and bridging all the techniques you know with practical application based on what the patient presents. Test - Treat - ReTest Are they hyper-mobile?Do they have Systemic Inflammation? (abdominal sub-classification)What's their motor control with dynamic stability like?Regional interdependence also plays a part We really are missing key components to injury and relief if we only focus on the area of chief complaint. When asking about ‘magical' areas that tend to be overlooked... what is his answer? Can we say mechanical dysfunction and drop the ‘subluxation' word? Dr Rob Pape may not have easy answers but he has easy ways to ask better questions. Do you want a n=1 shirt, hoodie, mug etc? Then head over to my spreadshirt account and pick one up. Codifying how you process and work on patients, while actually working on patients is a difficult endeavor but he managed to compile the quadrant analysis system and hopes you will see it as a way to be more efficient and effective with your patients. Pain with normal range of motion could be hypermobility or random pain all over, tender to touch, massage and exercise may make it worse could be systemic inflammation are just a few of the ideas you learn about in quadrant analysis. Relationship Advice: When you are having important conversations, slow it down and really listen and actively listen to fully understand what the other person is saying. In adoctor's perspective minisode sixty nine charisma personified. Hey this is dr. JustinTrosclair. Thanks for tuning in. I got some cool news all the books from the past. One hundred seventy six episodes all those interviews if they recommended a book. It's all my amazon book lists you can search through it. Business marketing personal growth All those types of things. www.Adoctorsperspective.net/booklist. It's an affiliate. we're not talking lots of money. But if you're going to buy the book anyway. Thank you for the click. And let's get into the episode today. Charisma this just a few things that you can do kind of show that you've got that going on okay was using metaphors more metaphors. You used. you've got a grip a good grip on whatever you're trying to teach and so by using that related to something that everybody knows why it just really shows through that you're good use hand gestures. They did a study where they reviewed all the top. Ted talks and those who had the most views tended use more hand motions more gestures with their hands two times more. So don't just go out there and start shimmying unshaken with your hands and being crazy but there's a few can incorporate more hand motions to illustrate your point. Apparently that's a good thing but remember the movement of your hands and your voice should match. If you watch in study some of these videos you can see that. The voice goes out the hand. Go up when you talk about good things. Maybe that's on the left talking about bad things. That's on the right. And throughout the whole show contestant you consistently or have that kind of frame so people realize oh yeah. He's telling us something good. he's pointing to the lab. Just something to think about you. Want to have a unified vision. It's like the message to one person that can be felt by thousands. So if you've got susan your target client target. Patient your avatar. You know her name susan. She's thirty six. she's got two kids maybe. Her marriage isn't super great. Maybe she stressed i work. Maybe home school is a bit tough for her and her family trying to balance all these things. She's got stress. She's got headaches. Boom that your target market you want to produce a message just talking to her and by just talking to her yes you weed out a bunch of other people. Maybe it's dude. You must pass those out but that one susan there's thousands of her and that's who you target with this one speech this one video so think about that they also made an interesting point when accompanies high on profit versus. If they're kind of leaning growing they use a different type of leader when it's it's high on profit and if things are going good they want a hard messenger. What you gotta do this. You're going to do it. But when they're growing they're trying to be inventive. They want more that charismatic person. That person's going to draw other people into them like him relate to them and then they can tell their friends about it. Okay that's what we're doing. Please leave a review on your podcast app. We thank you for listening. If you know a good guest send me an email. Thank you come hashtag behind the curtain with me. I'm excited. I need to probably do a many cells. Page a landing page about this looking to write a book mall the past advice that people given from that second to last question of every interview. How do you keep your marriage live. How do you stay connected. How do you take time off of work when a book. I'm gonna pile that. Make it a little book at it. I'm in the process of kind of leila down right now. What i need to put. What do you take out So i haven't really written a bunch on it yet. So are you interested in that leno. is that something that doctors save. Your marriage is a just a catchphrase.

Sixty eight video ad rolls. Today's show is from capitalism with kevin anson. He apparently does a viral video ads with like click funnels in all those types of people. So he's made some really big videos made a big splash. People excited about it so he was interviewed on that podcast. And this is the summary for that. Before we jump in if you are a doctor or professional of some sort that needs a curriculum vitae. The cv reworked. And you don't wanna do it. Let me do it for you. Gotta do is go to adoctorsperspective.net/onesheet. And you can actually hire me to do that for you. I enjoy it as well as a one she s you know one page. Pdf where you can highlight topics that you wanna talk about and what you can provide to another business so they hire you for podcast hosts to invite you onto their show or even to get a second meeting or a room meeting with a medical doctor or other referral partner. That you've been warning. So let's jump in if you like what you hear but you want more information than you have to go and check out that actual podcast. Here's the summary super-duper summary need to have at least a pattern interrupt. Identify who you're gonna talk to what's gonna be your hook throw some social proof and then a call to action. That is your most basic video simply that you have to do. But so a pattern interrupt could be anything from throwing a book on the ground. Are lighten a book on fire. Just something that gets you to stop in. Look what are you doing. Could be moving your fingers in front of the camera just to catch people's attention something like that. Then you gotta identify who you talking to stay at home. Moms parents who are now teachers. Who aren't really into that chiropractors. That do spinal decompression etc and then the hook so going through all eight steps real quick the hook at your marketing. Hook it bridges. Who you talking to in why they'd actually want to listen and you at into the paint point and desires. So are you tired of having pain. He can't play with kids and stuff like that results. The promise What what can you do. Can you get or accomplish x by y because of z. So that's another step step for a thorny. You wanna talk about people you've worked with. Who's famous it'd earlier. This guy with click funnels so that's kind of a big thing you have some kind of certificate that other people don't have or somebody else thinks is important and they like you so you don't mention that somehow in the video you don't have to do all eight things in this video every time. It's kind of a lot. But like i said in the beginning those top four. Repeat at the end. Okay you to have a new opportunity is not so much you want to be different than somebody else like are yoga mat is point two millimeters thicker than the competition. Now you need to have something that differentiates you completely and that blue ocean theory. How was it. You know not just superior but it's like a new opportunity. Can you do that with what you're doing in chiropractic physical therapy named can you position a code laser like that Some special decompression table. You're the one that offers small group sessions that nobody else does. Then you had the value perception. Which would be like if you bought something else. It would cost you more time and more money but you just come to me and get better faster. You can go try yoga. You can try doing exercises. You can go into this by yourself. You can watch a bunch of for youtube. Videos are just come to me and now four five six visits you'll be pain free and able to de lift again. Something like that. The last social proof you want to get reviews reviews reviews reviews wherever you want them get them remember. You know just want to say oh. I got pain freer.

Wanna get that book along with the Electric pen would visit a doctor's perspective dot net slash in a beat. And you can find that at a great price and the price. it's also on amazon. So this episode. They were talking about how to get more involved in may running groups and those types of things beneficial to your clinic because you can go and you can spend time you give talks. You can approach these running groups in your community and said hey. I can give you talking how to prevent ankle sprains or shins plans. Make sure your heads up ryan position you can evaluate their gate all of that but other option because it takes so much time as you can sponsor the group itself right and that's helpful but you could also sponsored athletes. Tiers of Individual Sponsorships If you know that. Jane is amazing. Well maybe she deserves some free treatment and twenty percent off some logo. Something like that. So when she wins the race bow. Your logo is on her shirt. You can have a couple of tears like 2nd tier could be more like a twenty percent off and maybe you get of course a hat along with that.We don't get free treatment. You just get a percentage off third year could be maybe just fifteen percent off treatment but you also get some free swag and that could be really helpful so becomes ambassadors for your clinic and then you look good and these people are actually winning so you know. It's not just jack who barely finishes the ten k. No these people are running marathons. They're coming out in the top five type six and so they're going to get pictures taken. And you know maybe you look into triathlon. Jerseys are runner jerseys. I've found some places. You can really design the whole thing like you probably go and fiber and have an entire mock-up of you know the pretty colors. The cool design with your logo and your information on it like that would be top notch like you're getting quality stuff but it's going to be more expensive of course than just getting some Dry fit with your name and stuff on it. So yes something to consider just google trough elite outfits customization and you'll you'll see some companies pop up because it's much more work much more money involved in doing that but obviously if you do it right then that really isn't sweet swag to give away and if you know that you've been part of group maybe it's a cross fit group. Maybe it's a triathlete group in your being a part of it for a while. Then you know how many you should order. And then it's become look. I wanna ho team. So i need to know how many mediums largest malls.

Chris Chippendale, DC talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair, DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast Learn to communicate what you do and goals for the patient based on what they want. Patient centered evidence based care evolves and Chris Chippendale DC talks shared decision making and much more. Chris Chippendale, MChiro DC PgCert MRCC (Pain)  and I just briefly talk about qualifications and differences of a UK vs USA trained chiropractor. Most chiropractors in the UK are cash based. He talks about how he set up his fees and we touch on membership practices, charge per hour and flat fees. What is the biggest determining factor on the price per visit? When is it appropriate to do a double charge, how to handle flare ups if you do a membership plan and what about case fees instead of per visit? Do case fee patients vs per visit change how you recommend care? What is Patient Centered Care versus Doctor Centered Care? Follow the doctor orders and what I think is appropriate. The doctor will ride in and save the patient. This type of model is normal. Patient care is about the hero journey. The doctor is the guide to the patient so the patient can reach their health goals. It's about shared decision making, giving the patient a choice. How do you handle the patients who say, You are the Doctor, You tell me the Best option? I'm here to help you get what you want out of care. I want us to work together and for you to be an active part of care. When trying to get patients to do exercise or make changes, it's easier to meet them where they are than to steer them in a direction they don't desire to go. Understand they may have a ton of things going on in their life so to do 3 exercises is the best they can handle at the present time. This could be the essence of patient centered care. What do you, Patient, want from care so that when we are done you would say this was a good use of time and money? Patient may think they coming from pain but really that was there for 3 years, what has the pain taken from their life that they want back. Link their words that they described their issue as, during your report of findings. We are grabbing, cracking, stretching and pushing so that area can move better and working better. Bone out of place is obviously not something he would say, but when do you correct a patient's wrong beliefs and when do you just let it go? Ask for a referral when a patient is expressing enthusiasm but before they get better. Dr. Frederike Rützenhoff (University of Bonn, Private Practice 9 year, Elected Member Board of Cologne Board) discusses this health revolution. Learn a little about medical and dental university in Germany. It's a bit different than America and perhaps it's a viewpoint that we can integrate in some way. Periodontics, endodontics, prosthesis, implants are all learned in uni not a specialty after graduation. German Dental Insurance What can you expect your standard health insurance to cover for dental procedures? Does German health insurance subscribe to an ounce of prevention is worth it or do they like the only fix it when it breaks? Are the materials (like mercury) a danger to our body as a holistic system? Do some toxic materials leak into our body and if so what type of long term health reactions may we experience? History of Dentistry Materials used versus newer options What were some of the trial and errors that dentists had to figure out as long term and safe materials currently being used (and the past) and this BIO healthier alternatives that are gaining traction? Did you know if you are pregnant and a dentist you are not allowed to work because of the materials used. Fluoride has it's purpose but does it need to be in the water? Can something be done with the Oral Biome? Wouldn't you think it is a good idea to support the body (bone strength, proper mcirobes in the mouth etc) with vitamins, and other biological whole body support before doing an invasive surgery like implants? Your body needs to be healthy enough to heal from the dental procedures. CERAMICS Titanium is in lots of products including teeth whitening toothpaste. Can someone build up an unhealthy reaction to this metal? A doctor in Switzerland is teaching lots of international dentists the benefit of using ceramics. Some would say ceramics break but this guy has been using ceramic implants and doing research on the best methods for over 20 years. Root Canals Most dentists are trained in the basic of a root canal procedure, but when you can have 4 or even 5 roots (not just 3) the complexity can quickly become overwhelming. What is the big deal with a half dead tooth saying in your mouth? A specialist could take 5 hours with a microscope to make sure the whole bad area of the tooth is removed but most dentists will not do that. After max 10 years these teeth tend to have to be extracted. Therefore, is it better to just get a ceramic from the get-go? Employed - Motherhood Dentist Situation Dr. Rutzenhoff is spear heading a movement of female owned dental businesses but set up in a bigger shared space to meet all the other obligations that most female dentists have to overcome ie child care, while also providing the environment to do these complicated and bio style dental procedures. More women are dentists then men now but old men are the ones who still own the clinics and hire new doctors. Her goals is to help empower women to work together to share expenses and give optimal bio care but still be moms who don't have to work 50 hours a week. Also find ways to avoid burnout with physical therapist Dr. Larry Benz. Dr. Larry Benz, PT DPT OCS MBA MAPP has just a ton of educational experience and degrees. He also teaches, has a private clinics, handles continuing education across the USA, wrote a book, is a veteran, has an organization in Haiti and his passion for physical therapy has no end in sight. Today we focus on the PsychoSocial factor of physical therapy. We also discuss the impact Doctor Empathy and Communication with the patient has on their outcomes. Therapeutic Alliance, Bed Side Manner - what role do these play? Bio-Psycho-Social Attributes were aspects covered in his Masters of Applied Positive Psychology Degree. The capstone project is what led to his book Called to Care. Topics like: research on empathy, compassion, what is a high quality connection, goal setting for patient care, peak end effect lead to, placebo and Nocebo effects and capitalization. How to reduce your own burnout? The care and outcome is better - better EQ the outcomesBusiness gets better as well Is Dehumanization and Burnout the Same thing? How does the term Calcification play in and can it set in a little each day or is it all encompassing. Besides the PQRSST piece of the exam (who, what, when. why), how many of us ask How the patient is Feeling about the scenario. What is their truth with their situation and how it affects them and their life? BODY LANGUAGE is important: tone of voice, facial expressions and body movements. With a telehealth visit the doctor can lose at least 2 of these with the patient. That means the patient doesn't since the empathy from you and clinical outcomes may be less. Excessive documentationThe number one complaint is that it robs the patient of actual practitioner time. Too much is spent clicking buttons or dictating notes. Too much documentation is number one reason for physician burnout by the way. What role does Placebo play for the patient? Should we use it more and how can we? In trying to get students to retain more information, you can even tell them that a placebo is happening and it will still get them to retain more than if it wasn't mentioned at all or no unknown placebo was in place. Positive words and the way you set up positive parameters of outcomes can play a huge way to get an ethical placebo effect. Nocebo Effect: if you tell people it will hurt, then it will actually make it hurt more. A percent of people will get those negative effects only because you mentioned them. Keep a relationship healthy by creating Novelty (curiosity) and watching your Cognitive Biases (the stories you tell yourself about things aka don't be judgemental).Process improvements ; like excessive documentation, regulations, and a variety of other hoops and ladders have replaced time spent with patients. An emphasis on kind, compassionate care will give you and your practice a differentiation in the marketplace that converts to market share and profitability.   For more information, please visit PThelpforHaiti.org and CalledtoCarebook.com. People are now reaching out to friends and professionals more. Learn to Say NO Biggest obstacles to overcome right now is learning to say NO to requests and making sure your mental health is in check so you can be present for others as well. Holidays Are Approaching If you are feeling extra overwhelmed with Christmas and Thanksgiving and kids and work and school and a spouse ARGH! ... ask them what is most important and special to you that we should do for these holidays. Your kids may not care about Elf on the Shelf or your holiday cookies. Great, don't spend your time on them this year. Or maybe you have to have them take the helm on certain activities, festivities, and decorations. MICRO- Self Care Discuss with your company about Flexibility with meetings, deadlines and more.Stop Burnout before it happens, otherwise it takes way more time to recover and heal. Each day do the small things to keep your health strong and mentally relaxed.Set a Time and Day to have those hard conversations with your significant other. Do I go to work, stay home with the kids, work 2 days, I need more help around the house, etc. They say happy Wife, happy Life. Did you know research actually backs that up?You would be shocked at home many people (especially moms) are never actually alone with themselves. Strength, Resiliency, Flexibility and how to get along with people you are around 24 /7 now. Health of Children - they are resilient The belief we have about our kids ability has a big impact on how they handle situations.Model as a parent how to manage our own emotions. Maybe one day is bad adn the next is okay but show them the ways you switch your environment, self talk etc to change your mood. It teaches the kids how to handle things via modeling.Having a routine is important for children including, I have to work, don't interrupt me for 1 hour. Would you be surprised that a pet dog has many reasons to support your mental health. Anxiety Kids - Why? What is it over the past 20 years that has caused kids to have so much anxiety?Would you be shocked that Helicopter Parenting really took over after 9/11? What about the parents who rescue their children and they never have struggle with consequences of actions? Many kids don't know how to do with uncertainty and being uncomfortable and that leads to anxiety as well. With social media you also see children trying to be perfect, what if I fail, what if I try and I'm just not good enough and seeing fake positivity from others.Showing your kids love and support for them being who they are and allowing them to make mistakes and grow from them. Welcome back to the show Halloween month off of that autumn leaves are changing and guess what else can change the way you present yourself to other doctors for referrals whether you're a PT or a chiro looking to get some referral from medical doctor. Maybe you're looking to do a podcast guest beef up your resume in that area or local speaking gigs whether it's chamber b&i or workshop with a dog. Big Corporation. What are you going to send these people so that they actually return your email or if you go to the office and you give them something. What are you going to do a tri-fold brochure? I sure hope not it's 2020. So one sheets. It's a one-page. It's concise. It's a quick bio relevant to being a speaker or a referral partner of your keynote topics examples of how you're awesome news and testimonials your social media contacts, you're you know, webpages all of that stuff in a pretty layout. That's what I do but doing it took a little while the side. Okay. Let me start mention it on the podcast. I can go to a doctor's perspective. Net / one sheet. Look at some samples and it's affordable. I'm not charging five hundred or even four hundred bucks for these things which you would pay if you went to a dedicated maybe graduated graphic designer, but the quality is still there. Just take a look. All right. So anyway today Is a tough topic but our guy is actually a comedian who deals with Suicidal Tendencies and depression and things. So we're going to cover as a doctor. What are we going to look for a month? What can we do about it? Some great resources and we'll even discuss people like Kate Spade Anthony Borden. How do they people that seem to have it all end up killing themselves? What's up with that will also give you some resources for your patience.

EXCEL asking great questions and follow ups to find out your customers What, Why and more. By asking a clarifying question, I can help guide you to your goals. What questions It sounds like... Repeating last 3 words to show understanding and empathy or even to get them to expand on their answer. If - Then Statements 00:00:12 - 00:05:02 I should take off and on and you listen to the show for a while, you know, I'm kind of into sales and marketing and all this and not necessarily like sells for Thursday, you know, your doctor services but like books or designing webpages coaching things like that. So Once it's videos recently and one of them was talking about, you know, the used sales as like an acronym and you know, that's was serving just make sure you talking to people and hear their to sounds like a fiduciary, you know where you're doing. What's in the best interest of the client and the way you find that out is by asking questions. What being the good question what this what that how sometimes you jump too quick to that one because I was trying to get exclusion without finding out, you know, what's going on, you know the why perhaps and then the the wise sometimes can be I guess misconstrued. So the panel where the client is in there with confidence what they're doing, you know, just it can come accusational to just gotta be a little careful with that one. Which reminds me if you haven't checked out the episode on finding your why with Gary Sanchez encourage you to listen to that one is also on his show which is kind of fun a little oil change, but I took his questionnaire and I'll give you the cheat sheet for me. Mine was clarified, which is only about six percent of the population of the nine types that they created and off-premise as a lot of questions. That's you know, that's something that did ever since man since even elementary junior high. I'll ask the questions that other people would ask or silly just got the answer especially even in the carpet of school et cetera just took us questions. And if I do understand that I'll try to find out so that's something I've always done got better at it, you know aka the regular episodes for a doctor's perspective podcast, but my wise to clarify what is kind of the the right way and then how is that contribute? So it'd be like by asking the right clarifying questions. I can help guide you to a clear path to reach your goals. So what I'm explaining to somebody how to do something. I want them to feel like yeah to get it. They understand what I want what's expected not micromanage, but they understand like the process and then I asking those questions are getting those questions. They are delivering the information. The goal is to find the right way to do the job. You know, what is your goal? Let's find the right way to get the go. Let's not reinvent the wheel right? And then that's my way of contributing to the process or the in-game that this client wants is by clarifying their thought pattern or their goal and and asking the questions. I mean, they may not have even thought of so that they can you know, get out of their own way sometimes. All right. So back to the you know, the sales when we're listening, you know, of course not insane. Yes just helps people know but it's cheating and some that for a long time is always like make good eye contact, you know with the patience for least make good eye contact and let me know you care and I think there's a time when you have to do that the very beginning find out what's wrong with them. Then you should take notes. It actually shows that oh you care. You thought what I just said was important. They might elaborate more on that and later on you come back you find out if you ever been to a restaurant and they don't even take your order on pay-per-view Mei sure. They didn't mess up. That was 10 people, right? Oh, then you mess up, you know, well not surprised. They don't always do it,

Disinformation being spread around and pseudoscience are major reasons he started his youtube channel. What is a species specific diet and why does he think it's the right way? What were his main exercise and physiology take aways from working with the New Zealand All Blacks Rugby Team and the NZ and Australian Navy Seals Equivalents? How can we extrapolate his findings in sports that we love or activities we try to get our own patients to do?What would cause a 20 year senior lecture in cardiovascular pathophysiology to walk away from a solid career? When by law a professor can literally say anything they want, how did he feel censored? Train for Your Sport Accordingly What does an elite rugby player actual do on the field: Stand around, run miles, sprint, how strong should they be etc? Sprint, Strength, Power A major take away is to analyze the actual requirements of your sport and train accordingly. Stem Cell Supplement Blue green cyanobacteria and the harvest method is the proprietary aspect of this pill. It is an L-selectin ligand which causes a bollous of CD 34+ adult stem cells to be released from the bone marrow and those stem cells travel throughout the body. The FDA, of course, says you can't claim to cure or treat anything, but they have found many things improve and while they can prove the release of the CD 34+ adult stem cells, your body does what it wants with them. Species Specific Diet: Carnivore, Ruminant Do we need vegetables? What about fruit? Are grains and fiber necessary? According to the carnivore movement the answer is No. Just eat animals. Does nitrogen 15 isotope testing of fossilized humans indicate a non balanced, carnivore (meat and animal fat) heavy diet? Are the statistics trying to prove grains faulted by statistic signal to noise ratio combined with underpowered subject amounts? Can gluconeogensis really provide all the glucose are body needs? No Fiber… he dissects a paper discussing how we don't need it, nor sugars. Can we eat all meat and/or just ruminant animals? What is Bart Kay's view on vegetables and intermittent fasting versus real fasting? Is Cholesterol the biggest thing to worry about in health? Do statins do anything? What is causing atherosclerosis? What happens when we mix carbs and fat at the same time? HIIT high intensity interval training HIIT is by far his biggest recommendation for exercise. Nice thing is, you can get creative on how to do it, as in you don't to do sprints only.Repeat burst type high intensity cardio or strength training for 4 or 5 repetitions to failure in less than 10 seconds for a total training of one hour. Dr. Jackson Tisdell is part of Kinetic Therapies teaching others about strength and conditioning for feet and ankle problems. Did you know that a podiatrist can specialize in helping people become stronger and mobile? Build strength and educate so they don't need much long term care. Since Australian podiatrist can't do intensive surgeries, he has chosen to focus heavily on rehab, biomechanics, orthotics and strength. What were some of the benefits of being a trained Strength and Conditioning Coach before even starting podiatry school? Books and courses are great but it's the practical application and hands on experience that makes a good s&c coach. Hip and Core Muscle stability are key components he looks at, not just the foot and ankle complaints. Go up the chain to address the underlying problem. Top 3 Conditions Dr. Tisdell Podiatrist treats Plantar FascitisHeel PainBunion PainForefoot pain (1st MPTJ, Morton's neuromas)Stress fractures of the foot Does pain equate to injury and does that change how you approach treatment, including chronic pain? Rest your injury in most cases is just bad advice: movement is essential. Especially for an Achilles injury, load and strengthening is best. Myth buster on orthotics. Orthotics do not realign the foot to neutral, the spine or change structural biomechanics. Orthotics are a way to redistribute loads and reduce tissue stress. Dr. Tisdell is big fan of creating videos and he explains his thoughts on quality, quantity and motivation behind spending the time and effort to records more of them. Create value with your content and don't be a pushy salesperson. The trust will build and you will be seen as the expert they can turn to when their need arises. Mentoring for new grads: He has over 30 videos on linkedin for new podiatrists and he is hoping to hit 100. Being that chiropractors and physical therapists do treat feet conditions, when should they stop and refer over to a podiatrist? If you have to make up an answer or you feel uncertain and are questioning yourself, that is a solid reason to refer the patient on. Kinetic Therapies What is Kinetic Therapies, who is it for and what type of education exercise and conditioning courses will they offer? The podiatry lessons are geared for practical tips and implementation for your patients, not just lectures on research and PPT's. Welcome back to the Minisode version of A Doctor's Perspective Episode fifty-six. Hey. This week's episode is brought to you by. But today's episode how to make yourself a little happier. Okay, a lot of people are in jobs. They don't like a boss. That's bad. Just monotonous. They questioning. What are they doing with their life? But they don't know what else they can do about it to get out of that. So, it's A. It's a tough situation. It's a tough situation, so the author of a book that was reading this was on. Blink is by the way bleakest is an APP. The month of April they gave premium version for free, which means you can just? Read our lips any book summer. You want and usually less than fifteen minutes. For the Book Summary by Chapter Amazing I'm plowing through some books. If I ever feel like it wasn't enough then I can always go back and read the real thing, but so far they are really. They really nail these summaries in the night. Even a sponsor blinking hook me up. I will definitely support you because I like what you're doing. Okay so today's. Episode you gotTa do a three to one ratio of things you enjoy, and it's to be. Happy enjoyment doesn't have to be like I won't watch. The Saints Football Game Okay Well. That's I mean that's great, but. Once a week, and you should be doing these things daily, so it takes three three place. One Bet, what can you do it could be? You got the right breakfast. You Love Moseley, Granola okay. You had that for breakfast. Fantastic. That's one you got a good memory or a nice photo of something and you looked at it. That counts you help the patient get out of pain boom. Take note of that. Your Wife spouse I should say complimented you on your clothes or appreciated. Housework that you did. That's something that can give you enjoyment so anyway. The point is doing small. Things counts though don't have to be these massive things to as Jerry. You're join me, and then you're happy with it. Okay I. Some people, it could be a good idea to learn something new. Maybe learning makes you happy or could make you happy, but then. I'm afraid I'm not going to be good at it I'm GonNa suck at whatever like say you fought? Wrecking ball would be awesome. Let's say you thought fencing would be cool because I did some fencing for a while. Now. I don't know if I want to get stabbed. I gotTA learn. They look silly walking like that. Where am I going to go to class? And so there's all these reasons why you wouldn't want to do and you're gonNA. Get destroyed by these people for so long. It's like well. Yeah, because you've never done it before, you will be bad at it, but don't let that stop you. Don't let fear. Stop you just embrace it. McKay you learning something new. Oh, they got me I tried a new move boom. They countered and got me in. Oh okay well cornell for next time, so you get my point. A lot of people apparently do not like trying new things. They know they're not going to be good at. They'll look silly, and we just don't like looking silly, but you can just embrace that for a little while and look at the learning process as a positive You might find that you might be really good at it whatever it is. You WanNa do taking a cooking class or learn how to knit something like that. So, anyway, that's what I'm encouraging to do. There's anything that you've ever wanted to do. And you have the time and you have the money and you have availability. Just go out and try it whatever excuses you were giving yourself just put those away for a little while. Dr. Michael Greiwe, MD talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast. Why did an orthopedic surgeon decide to build ortholive telehealth video platform at a scalable and functional level? It's not the most obvious doctor specialty to be able to implement, yet a big chunk of his practice is virtual. DISCLOSURE: This episode is sponsored by swanson.com use code DOCTORS20 to save 20% on supplements and other products. People get nervous going to a doctor office, some medical devices at home are fairly accurate (taking blood pressure everyday at the same time), and in many cases, the patient can be more comfortable staying at home doing a video chat - telehealth appointment. In some areas of the country, the best doctor is 4 hours away. Should a patient be forced to drive that far for a post-op appointment that isn't showing signs of complications? Most doctors using ortholive actually run on time so the patient isn't getting frustrated and the doctor can maximize the day. Many conditions can be diagnosed with an amazing History which can be done from telehealth. Of course some conditions will still need a physical exam to discover the extent of an injury, but after an initial work up on video you can filter those who need to come in physically or not. Would you have ordered an MRI or certain blood tests that you couldn't do in house anyway, then why not let the patient stay home and email the orders over. Telehealth has so many practical uses, but sometimes you have to think outside the box. Ortholive telemedicine platform even has a virtual waiting room, messaging area and ways to send files and videos. Yes, it's HIPAA compliant. Midway we discuss an amazing SEO and marketing tactic to make your website rank higher while providing the education you planned to give the patient anyway. Prescriptions and opioids, how do you do with telemedicine? Ortholive is integrated with many EHR softwares so you do not have to double entry. How important is mental resiliency in the recovery process of say shoulder surgery? We dive into how important repetition of surgery and exams etc are to being a well trained practitioner. One of his keys to relationship success is to carve out dinner time with the whole family. Also, leave work at work and be present with your family. Minisode 55 Future Outcomes, Back Casting and Failures We should imagine our future with strong details but also reverse it and try and visualize all the roadblocks we will have to overcome to reach those goals. Welcome back to a doctor's perspective the Minisode series. Number fifty five. About future outcomes, and while our futures are crazy with the corona virus. I am offering the virtual visits so if you haven't heard about that, it's telehealth. There's definitely a onslaught of people celine program, but look it is not that difficult to get started if you want more information language user. Keep things hip Leno back to justintrosclair.com/virtualvisits. If you know someone who needs some help. Patients Wise, you know sitting posted and poorly house on the computer whether they're watching TV or working. Having to spend more time with their kids than usual on the floor, although since can be helped, but let's discuss today future outcomes. Suzy Welch has Tinton rule I'm GONNA butchered a little bit, but it's looking at your day ten minutes ten hours ten weeks ten months ten years down the road. Right I'm part of the thing of the future is thinking. Thinking about what you want now sometimes we do have to say Plane Day Times where we just don't do anything kind of a little bit bored, and if you can do that whether it's every day or once every two weeks or something, it helps you reassess your priorities. Maybe you're board a little bit. You're unplugging from your phone and you just Kinda sit. And you think you know. Some people say I was in my shower that created this idea. I came up with this fancy idea, and then I had to implement right, so one of the things we can do when we're trying to. Reach goals in the future is called casting. Okay, so you're looking at it like all the goals that you ever had Mitt, so whatever that goal is you started with? You know there's a whole another episode of setting goals and things, but let's say you've already said those now you look back. How did you do it? What were the obstacles that you had to go through? Maybe did you have to get a degree? Did you have gain experience that you have to go through some crappy jobs? And gain the the the work experience so that you can. Then have the skills to take. The next position are the next step. They also made a comment about pre mortems. Is Thinking about how it all could fail all the issues that lie ahead. What are some of the obstacles? And how could you beat them? If you're trying to do. Amazon dropped shipping as a side. Hustle well. What happens for instance when coronavirus stops the chain? Did you think about the head of time? If so you might as well, the Philippines are open. Let me see how I can pivot pivoted them, or maybe at this point you just go to another country in general and skip you know China completely, but the point being that can happen if you did something or some custom reported you falsely and Amazon says down your account for a while. What do you do? Is there any other avenues that you can to sell or have? You ever thought of how to actually get out of the Amazon penalty box right so trying to fix all these different issues before they come about, but be careful because you can. Analyze to the point of paralysis, and you just don't do anything and you give up. There have been plenty of people who've just jumped in and looking back two years later. Maybe they were profitable, but they're like. Wow, if I would've known all the things that I would have done i. Would have done it. And so I. Guess You gotTa. Be careful with A. Over analyzing and stopping yourself from doing it I guess you gotTa. Really have a passion. I WANNA. Do it right. So you got the future casting what you WanNa do and then the back casting, which is working backwards the how to get that and then pre mortem trying to fix those obstacles one of the things they said was.

Minisode 54 Let Them Shadow You Teenagers and College aged people need help to narrow down career options. Be the guide for them. Let them come to your office and shadow you. An Hey. An episode coming out Dr Alex. Vitton and he does lots of TV appearances, so we're GONNA. Go over how to do videos on TV tips and tricks. If you want to prepare yourself, you can go to adoctorsperspective.net/marketing, and you will see the marketing series that we did a while back. Really great timeless information several episodes on videos there and that get your feet wet for his new take on it before to that but today. Making goals and taking small steps to get there. Remember. We might have high hopes high dreams for ourselves. But you just can't jump into a clinic and start seeing three hundred a week. Good luck. You might want to have a goal of fifty. I right, and all the growing pains go in. We were just talking about future casting in back casting, and all that on the last episode of the Minnesota. So you may want to double check on that one. One of the things when we're talking about goals. I feel bad I. Guess High School like you're eighteen going to college. Somehow you're supposed to know what in life you're going to do, so you go to college at first year? Maybe like this change of that later on, it's just so much information one of the things we can do in trying to find these careers. These things that will make us happy in life is the shadow other professionals I mean the numbers chatel Accountant. What are they do all day? Don't do one do like a corporate guy. Independently tax verses, maybe investments versus you know there's all kinds of different accountants and lawyers and. Doctors I mean goodness. If you went to a chiropractor, I didn't even know what an osteopath was for a long time, and then well so similar to Chiropractic in similar to medical doctor. Well, that's wild. What does a physical therapist job actually looked like a hospital setting versus a private practice sports versus knee Rehab. Right, and just kind of go through problem like when you're senior in high school. I guess I'm encouraging people. Mentor at this point mentor. These people kind of is. Can you give somebody? Could be the tell them to go out there and shadow Docs shadow other professionals, and most people cool with it I did that a ton throughout college with mostly Chiropractic and when I thinking about being an eye doctor shouts in different people to see what it looks like, and you start to really even as someone who's not even their feet wet in the program. I don't like this I do this while this is what your job really is. I don't want that at all so diverse. Try it out. That's what I would encourage. The listeners a few mentor. Have you talked to somebody WHO's trying to figure out WHAT THEY WANNA? Do in life all you just pick up the phone call. Most people are more welcome to come for a couple of hours and experience what they do these. That's been the experience that I've had like. They're always open arms. Sure come on down dress like this. Don't say nothing in the room If you have any questions, we can talk about it later. I mean I. Guess the kind of thing about somebody else. Hey I heard you. Could like. Watch what you do for a couple of hours. You're like oh! My Ego stroked a little bit by this person. Share come on down left the teach something all right.
