Jake breaks down the challenges of baiting and why it shouldn't be the first option when training a behavior, however, it is still a tool in the training toolkit that has some practical applications. Zoos are a staple of American culture. They're an enjoyable outing for families, couples and friends and a rare opportunity to see animals that a lot of us wouldn't otherwise get to see. In recent years, many zoos have pivoted to focusing on conservation and animal welfare rather than entertainment. Here in Nashville, the Zoo says that conservation is their mission. But, what does this really mean? Today, we'll learn how the Zoo is working to bolster the hellbender salamander population in Nashville.
