Sara Sidari is an Italian born artist and entrepreneur who lived most of her life between Australia and Italy. Orro + Co story is based on the nostalgia of her Childhood holidays along the Italian Coast and the feeling of confidence and radiance she gained during the summer time. ORRO has been a challenging one with highs and lows but worth the fight. It began in 2016 when there was no skincare in tanning causing skin to dry out or turn it green. Sara was set to create the first hybrid serum with skincare and then the glow where is would nourish the skin yet give you the perfect subtle glow. Challenges have been the obvious covid, launching a few months prior and being completely cut off just as ORRO was getting the momentum was hard. Manufacturing closing imports closing it was a tough challenge to circulate around. Second challenge and the most heart breaking was going through a court case with the previous partner in ORRO who had invested in the early days. Unfortunately she stole the company money just as we had a peak in sales and the first two months of launching and that was a traumatic experience and not only was I going through covid trauma but also this to win back my company which I did I was going to fight for my dream no matter what. www.relauncher.com.au www.instagram.com/relauncher_alison

Syncopated Records welcomes Glasgow groove master Modēm to their new and refreshing imprint that has been focussing on minimalistic & groove focussed techno cuts. The six track EP is a fine collection of deep and rolling techno rhythms, built upon original tracks from Outflight boss Modēm as well as a collection of remixes, and a collaboration with Germa. Modēm serves a powerful EP packed full of raw, driving, percussive and minimalistic groovy tracks. This release consists of three original tracks as well as remixes from Danny Wabitt, Marcelo Antonio, Mikrotakt. Modēm & Germa serve up a chilling piece of hypnotic goodness as they team up on ‘ORRO'. Jeff Mill's style syncopated bleeps are the star of the show here, whirling and gripping atmosphere with acute metallic hits, make the repetitive synth line so contagious. Rolling low end and tactile percussive grooves facilitate the rhythmic entity off the main sequence, and capture a thrilling and glossy atmosphere. This is hypnotic techno done properly.

Colin Billings, Founder and CEO of Orro, joins us for episode 220 of Art of Construction. Orro is a human-centric, wellness-driven, automated intelligent living system that creates perfect lighting for your specific living habits. With simplicity and sustainability in mind, Orro detects your presence and builds on your preferences to where you can forget about turning off your lights, conserving the normally wasted energy. Having struggled with sleep and with limited information on how light impacts the body, Colin finally found rest with the help of a computer application that altered the screen's brightness and color temperature depending on location and time of day. The desire for this type of technology throughout his entire home fueled the creation of Orro. With nearly 80 percent of first-time home buyers expecting some sort of automated system in their home, it can be headache-inducing for contractors and integrators who have tried previous smart home technologies. But unlike systems that just connect devices and focus on high-tech gadgets, Orro strives to actually make life easier, with comfort, peace of mind, energy efficiency, simple installation and direct manufacturer support at the forefront. Join Colin and Devon as they discuss the difference between a smart home and an intelligent home, the importance of recognizing how we feel in the places we live, the future of building design, and how contractors can easily anticipate the needs of their clients as the demand for smart homes continues to increase.
This week on HomeTech: We chat with Orro CEO and founder, Colin Billings about how he is using AI to make smart devices smarter. Some quick follow up about the Apple lossless audio launch, IKEA/Sonos picture frames are coming, and Control4 adds OVRC into every controller.

Hello this is Mathias, today we talk about a topic we touched last time nearly year ago. I’m talking about P2P Lending. Some consumer loan companies have been in trouble and there have been delays in collecting the principal/interest also due to covid related regulation from governments. There have also been some scams with Envestio and Kuetzal and also with Grupeer with ongoing legal investigations. And still I think this asset class is going to stay - although the hype might be over. That’s why I talk with Tanel the CEO from Reinvest24 about their platform focused on property and what makes it stand out from the other ones, the involved risks and the general P2P Lending market situation. We talk aboutInvesting in rental propertyP2P market situationAdvantages of Real Estate for P2P LendingIf Reinvest24 is legitAdvice for P2P Lending

In this week's episode we interview the CEO of Reinvest24, Mr Tanel Orro. This platform is one of my favorites as they are growing organically and doing things the right way. I like their updates on the properties they are working on as they record videos of the progress, and it seems that they are very responsible towards their investors, which is always good to see. We discuss many aspects of investing in real estate, including the hottest trends in real estate investment in Europe, why invest in buy-to-rent properties vs developmetn loans, and where most of the investors come from and why. It was a really enjoyable episode for us to do, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Links Reinvest24
Orro is not an occupancy sensor, it’s a presence sensor. Colin Billings left his previous work in the new media industry in favor of founding Orro after a series of frustrations with connected lighting at home. An Orro switch uses algorithmic learning to adjust lighting at home, slowly accumulating data and adjusting rules the way a human might commission passive controls without having to be connected to the internet. There is a boom and bust cycle in selling controls, but maybe this cycle ends with some sort of beachhead for smart tech. Light is life and it needs to adapt to our lifestyle.

Colin Billings has built something that I’m incredibly interested in generally: hardware that contributes to home automation. He built Orro, the first truly responsive lighting system, out of his own frustration with lighting’s adverse impact on his wellness and sleep. Now the Orro Switch adds the computational power of an iPhone XR inside the walls of […] The post Colin Billings & Smart Home Lighting appeared first on How I Built It.
Kopli on maagiline ja salapärane koht, täis vastuolulisi legende, tundeid ja kogemusi. Ühtedele on see kalleid mälestusi täis kodukant, teistele ohtlik kriminogeenne pesa. Oliver on kirjutanud raamatu „Kopli sonaat. Lisaks meenutab Oliver enda seiklusi sel põneval poolsaarel. Intro kestab 17 minutit. Head kuulamist, sõbrad!

Colin Billings is the founder and CEO of Orro where they’ve built the first truly intelligent home lighting system. It knows when you’re in the room, and adjusts the lights automatically for you. But Colin’s path to starting this company wasn’t a straight line. Like most innovative products, Orro has an interesting beginning — after-all, they’re going up against the giants.
