The search for Nancy Guthrie entered its twelfth day with the recovery of the case's first significant physical evidence and the deployment of the FBI's elite tactical unit to Tucson.FBI agents searching desert roadways in the Catalina Foothills recovered a pair of black latex gloves from the area surrounding Nancy's home. The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed the discovery. The gloves resemble those worn by the masked individual seen in doorbell camera footage and are being tested for DNA and fingerprints. The forensic question at the center of this evidence — whether the glove interior touched skin directly — will determine if investigators can extract a usable DNA profile.The FBI's Hostage Rescue Team arrived in Tucson Wednesday, a tactical unit deployed when hostage recovery operations may be necessary. The FBI has not commented on HRT's presence, but their deployment twelve days into a case with no confirmed proof of life signals investigators may believe a recovery scenario is possible.Doorbell footage is undergoing advanced analytics including AI-enhanced facial geometry mapping, technology that attempts to identify features through the ski mask fabric. Investigators are also pursuing retail purchase records for the Ozark Trail backpack, ski mask, gloves, and other items visible in the footage, cross-referencing sales across Tucson-area retailers to build a timeline leading to identification.TMZ received a third note Wednesday from someone claiming to know the kidnapper's identity and demanding one bitcoin for the information — a separate individual from the original ransom sender. The original ransom bitcoin wallet also showed its first activity, though the transaction's significance is unknown.The Pima County Sheriff's Department has not held a press briefing in nearly a week. Nancy Guthrie has a pacemaker, requires daily medication the sheriff himself has called potentially fatal to miss, and cannot walk fifty yards on her own. Both ransom deadlines have passed. She is a fully qualified mountaineering instructor who works in Eryri and on Skye, she also spends a lot of time in the Alps. Jenny is also an active member of the OgwenValley Mountain Rescue Team, a Remote Rescue Medical Technician and a WEMSI Wilderness Medical Technician qualification. Killarney man, James Cahill, who says he owes his life to Kerry Mountain Rescue Team following an horrendous fall on Bothar na Gíge (the Zig Zags) while descending Carrauntoohil in July 2016. James was treated at the scene by KMRT and airlifted to University Hospital Kerry by Rescue 115. James sustained horrific injuries that left him paralysed on his right side. That followed several months of treatment at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire, with constant support from his wife Carmel and their families.  He’s organising a fundraiser for KMRT on Saturday, December 27th

Miles Randell, an advanced care paramedic, is trying to do something different for frontline health-care workers who need a supportive work environment. He says years of working as a paramedic in Vancouver led to post-traumatic stress that left him unemployable. And that the help he needed wasn't there. So he created TEAAM (Technical Evacuation Advanced Aero Medical), a non-profit that deploys helicopters to provide advanced life support in some of the most rugged locations in B.C.'s wilderness. But TEAAM is also a workplace where health-care workers are encouraged to regularly check in and talk about work stress after a call.
