His dedication to honoring the African American heroes along with their stories and his mission to change the narrative, reshape how we think about and remove the “cataracts” that blind us from seeing and understanding American history in its entirety… in hopes that this will inspire a respectful, level-eyed conversation. They delve into the many facets of his collection; that ranges from two and three dimensional art, to photography, rare books, records, artifacts and more that document the African American experience from the 16th century until the present. How his son Khalil has taken an active role in stewarding the collection and what's in store for the Kinsey collection in the future..!  Guest Bio: Bernard Kinsey is a Los Angeles philanthropist and entrepreneur with a passion for African American history and art of the 19th and 20th centuries. He and his wife, Shirley, have been called "one of the most admired and respected couples in Los Angeles." They are known for espousing two life principles, “To whom much is given much is required" and live “A life of no regrets”. The couple have one son, Khalil, who is the general manager and curator of The Kinsey African American Art and History Collection and foundation.Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida and attended Florida A&M University. There, he met his wife Shirley. After graduating from Florida A&M University he was hired as the first African American sales representative for Humble Oil Company. Kinsey was immediately successful and quickly became Humble Oil's number one sales representative. In 1971, Kinsey joined Xerox Corporation. During that same year, Kinsey and a group of African American Xerox employees protested the promotion of a less qualified white employee over an African American with supervisory experience and a college degree. Xerox promoted the African American employee. This action resulted in the creation of the Xerox Black Employees Organization, which Kinsey co-founded. Kinsey became a vice president of Xerox within ten years. Kinsey also worked to create a program for bringing African Americans and other minorities into the company and training them for jobs with opportunities for advancement. In 1992, he became the chief operating officer and co-chairman of Rebuild Los Angeles. RLA's mission was to bring jobs, economic opportunities and pride to the area that had been devastated by the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Kinsey succeeded in generating more than $380 million dollars in investments for inner city Los Angeles. The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection travels the globe as an award-winning museum exhibition – lead by the stewardship of Bernard, Shirley, and Khalil Kinsey. The exhibition celebrates the achievements and contributions of black Americans from before the formation of the United States to present times.

TRUE HOUSE STORIES® W/ ROBERT COLEMAN (RLA AUDIO) # 125 INTERVIEWED BY LENNY FONTANA Robert Coleman, a Sound Technician, Seamster, and a man of many talents worked for one of the greatest sound installation companies owned by the late sound designer Richard Long out of New York City. RLA & Associates helped change and create the soundscape of what was to become the new benchmark in New York City and the world. RLA became the leaders of "The Heavy Disco Sound" and set the mark with two main clubs as there testing ground and lab. One being the Paradise Garage, who's DJ Larry Levan helped Richard as well with modifications and designs of the speakers and the other famous club Studio 54 which both opened in the year of 1977. Richard Long's sound company known as RLA went on to do many big installations around the world, won many awards for its devastating mammoth look and of course Hi Fidelity sound that became synonymous with nightclub owners and its patrons. People would say when you experience an RLA sound system, its "Bass in your Face", "Highs in your Eyes" with the use of Bertha Bass Boxes with The Levan Extensions and JBL Bullets Tweeters Flying in the Chrome Z-Array's. Robert will give us the inside history of all the day to day from that momentous time through this interview. As a Captain, John F. Barton Jr. has been a Captain on the Boeing 767-300/757 and 737 Aircraft. He taught as an instructor the Boeing 777 aircraft, at the United Airlines Training Center from 1997 till 1999, He began his flying with a Major International Airline as a Boeing 727 first and second officer. His most recent position is Captain on the new Boeing 737-900 aircraft flying out of San Francisco. Captain John F. Barton Jr. was chosen by his airline Flight Operations to “Captain” the historic chartered flight (prior to taking office) of President Barack Obama and family on January 1, 2009 from Honolulu international airport to Chicago International. Only the Obama family, Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett and daughter, Secret Service, and limited press were on the flight. Captain John F. Barton Jr. has dedicated his life to the political fight for American jobs in the aviation sector, and has worked with the DOJ, Congress, and Senate to achieve these goals. In 2012, Captain John F. Barton Jr. helped work the timeline in Washington, D.C. with Senators, and Congressional representatives, and committees on the Hill to expedite negotiations under the RLA. He developed a plan with Captain Heide Oberndorf to accomplish this task. They then worked closely with Patton-Boggs to accomplish this task; specifically Jon Yarowsky (Former Senior policy Advisor to President Bill Clinton); navigating the cumbersome RLA for collective bargaining. Together through networking they helped secure a contract in less than eight months through out of the box thinking and utilization of Congress.

Ryan and Mr. Migliore dig into a number of cases where pilot actions, such as refusing to pick up open time trips, green slips, and coordinating a sick out resulted in court action and stiff sanctions for individual pilots as well as for the union. They also discuss what self-help actions pilots can take under the RLA and how pilot unity, wearing lanyards, and informational picketing is making a huge impact at the negotiating table.
