Trotz Geburtsjahres 1993 liest sich Tims Lebenslauf schon jetzt beeindruckend und außergewöhnlich vielfältig: Mit 16 Jahren als Jugendspieler von Jürgen Klopp zum BVB gelotst worden und in der U19 unter Hannes Wolf und Edin Terzic gespielt, zum Studieren, Fußball spielen und Trainieren in die USA gegangen, um anschließend als Doktorand beim FC Chelsea auf wissenschaftlicher Basis die sozialen Entwicklungen bei jungen Spielern im dortigen Nachwuchsleistungszentrum zu untersuchen. All das führte ihn dann kürzlich wieder zurück zum BVB, wo er seit Januar 2026 sein geballtes Wissen als „NLZ-Koordinator für Kultur und Entwicklung“ einbringt, um den BVB-Nachwuchs vor allem abseits des Rasens in Sachen Charakter, Empathie und Weltoffenheit weiterzuentwickeln. „Ich bestärke die Jungs in den Eigenschaften, die sie in so jungem Alter selbst noch nicht in sich sehen. Sehr gute Fußballer sind sie alle schon jetzt. Aber für langfristigen Erfolg – im Fußball und vor allem im Leben – brauchen sie Menschlichkeit, Bodenständigkeit, Perspektivwechsel und Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten, um als Individuum aufblühen zu können. Die Etablierung einer solchen Kultur bei uns ist der Kern meiner Arbeit“, erklärt uns Tim im Gespräch.
