Send us a textThe DetBlock crew might have started off talking a little bit about sports [hey, we love our sports!], but then they first dive in to talking a bit about Star Wars video games. News came out that Outlaws is underperforming, but there's still plenty of time for that to turn around. However, this could also just be a continuation of the times for the franchise and the, what some say, misses Disney and Lucasfilm have made recently. Either way, there are still plenty of fun Star Wars video games out there, and Bogie and Mike talk through a few of those. They then go into an interview that was recently aired where Star Wars Theory sits down with Stuart Beattie and they talk about Stuart's plan and story line for the original content that was going to be released about Obi-Wan Kenobi. Originally, instead of a show, Kenobi was going to be brought to the big screen with his own trilogy and Mr. Beattie wrote the script for all 3 movies. With everything going on in the early 2020's, this ended up getting scrubbed, changed up quite a bit, and turned into a show. If you haven't already, go listen to this interview. The original plan for Beattie's trilogy is absolutely AMAZING and it's a shame we never got it; only elements of it in the #Kenobi show. They then go into discussing some defining actors that just perfectly fit their character, inside and outside of Star Wars. From Heath Ledger as the Joker, William Shatner as Captain Kirk, Hayden Christianson as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader, or Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, some actors just perfectly hit their mark. Unfortunately, for some of them, we lose them as soon as they bring those characters to life. Finally, the Crew close with talking about Bogie's initial dive into the animated show #CloneWars. We are super excited to follow along with him as he lives through this for the first time. When Ahsoka fought Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader in the world between worlds, why did she have sith red eyes when she took Anakin's red lightsaber? Let's breakdown the scene from Ahsoka episode 5 Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In Star Wars Return of the Jedi, we all got the beautiful ending to the 6 piece saga that showed the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and how Luke Skywalker helped his father fulfill the prophecy of the chosen one. But...what if...Luke didn't throw his green lightsaber away in front of the Emperor? What if...Luke stood to FIGHT?! This episode will go over all the possibilities Luke could have had to fight Palpatine, and ultimately, how they would have failed... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In today's episode of Star Wars Theory, we're going to go over the fan-fiction of what if Yoda was at the temple during Order 66. Would he fight Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader? What about Obi-Wan Kenobi? Does he return? Where is Palpatine during this fight? And of course...what happens to the Younglings...?? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In episode 6 of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Vader and Obi-Wan fought and it wasn't a good outcome for Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. There are many reasons to this beyond just 'Obi-Wan was better' or "Vader is conflicted" Let's discuss and breakdown the fight! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
I think this is really great. Deborah Chow (director of Kenobi show) explains her respect to George Lucas' story that came before Disney purchased Star Wars and Lucasfilm. That while working on this show, she was mindful of the characters and their legacy that George created. I feel this is the best approach to take when playing in George's sandbox. It's imperative to know the story and the characters of Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi. I hope we see Qui-Gon Jinn! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
I don't like Sand - meme has taken a very deep moment and scene for Anakin and turned it around into something laughable. Sure, I think it's funny too, however I won't let that distract me from the big picture here which is that Anakin is explaining something deeper than just a corny line about sand. He's talking about his life on Tattooine compared to where he is at this moment with Padme (Attack of the Clones). Hopefully new Star Wars fans can be brought in by these memes and when they see the films, they can really understand what Anakin is going through. I hope these videos get you ready for Kenobi. I can't wait to see Hayden Christensen return as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader and Ewan McGregor come back as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hopefully these videos will explore more of Anakin's character arc in a thought provoking manner. Let me know what you think about Anakin's life in the comments. I still believe had Qui-Gon Jinn survived against Darth Maul, he'd have prevented Anakin from falling to the dark side with Palpatine and Order 66 entirely. Learn more about your ad choices. What if at the end of Star Wars Return of the Jedi - Where Luke Skywalker asks Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader turned) to come back with him and to not remove his helmet, causing him to let go of his hate and die...? The Mandalorian Season 3 has BEGUN filming! This puts the show on time for a expected release of Winter 2023. I think 2022 will be the most ambitious year for Star Wars with Book of Boba Fett (Dec 29 2021) trailing into Feb of 2022, where we might get Andor next or Kenobi in May, then Andor in the early fall and Mandalorian Season 3 in the winter. I am super excited to see Luke Skywalker, Grogu, Boba Fett, Bo Katan, Moff Gideon, maybe even Ahsoka and everyone else on the show. I am most excited for Kenobi, where we get to see Hayden Christensen return as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader and Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Their showdown will be the most anticipated fight in all of Star Wars, imo. What do you want to see for The Mandalorian Season 3? Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, we love you, keep doing your thing. One of my favourite team ups in Star Wars. Maul finds himself on Nar Shaddaa (Nal Hutta's moon) and ends up having to hide his true powers against a bar full of guys trying to start something with him. Maul actually gets in bad shape until Cad Bane shows to up to save his...you know what. If only he could have used his full powers, but at this point Palpatine still wanted him to hide in the shadows as all Sith do until the time is fully right (order 66) to reveal both master and apprentice, properly. I hope we'll see Darth Maul in Kenobi starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Kenobi takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, and 10 years before A New Hope. This means we could also see Cad Bane in Kenobi as well if we get some baaaaad bounty hunters. Podcaster/voice actress/singer Amy Sinha beams aboard to highlight the beyond addicting Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power's first season on Amazon Prime! Were the Elves always the Star Trek Vulcan equivalent of the movies/books like they are essentially here? Why was it blacklisted by angry fanboys before it had even come out? What did they do well by highlighting the Second Age of Tolkien's fantasy world regardless of rights to Silmarillion and while trying to avoid retelling the same story already explored in the movie versions? Is Isildur essentially the Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader of the LOTR world or just a similar tragic hero-turned-traitor? And more deep focused reflection and recapping of the quotes, battles and other eye-catching themes in this binge watch! Deborah Chow will be directing every episode in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show starring Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader and Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. I think this will make for a more linear storytelling experience as it's from one vision.
I find it interesting how Qui-Gon Jinn was so in tuned with the force that he could sense Maul, or what he thought was a tremor in the dark side of the force, around him at that very moment. I hope we get to see Qui-Gon Jinn in Kenobi, along with Anakin Skywalker maybe in a flashback.Kenobi premieres May 27th, Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Could we see some flashback scenes like this in Kenobi, when Obi-Wan is remembering alarming moments of Anakin exhibiting dark side tendencies? I hope we see this in Kenobi, or something like it to add to Anakin's character development. Kenobi releases May 27th for a double episode feature starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Learn more about your ad choices. This is one of my favorite team ups in Star Wars. Maul finds himself on Nar Shaddaa (Nal Hutta's moon) and ends up having to hide his true powers against a bar full of guys trying to start something with him. Maul actually gets in bad shape until Cad Bane shows up to save his...you know what. If only he could have used his full powers, but at this point Palpatine still wanted him to hide in the shadows as all Sith do until the time is fully right (order 66) to reveal both master and apprentice properly. The Kenobi show coming May 25th will star Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. It will comprise of 6 episodes and be directed by Deborah Chow. Each episode, allegedly, will be one hour each. This is everything Star Wars fans know as of now for Kenobi. I am really anticipating this show. You have no idea. Learn more about your ad choices. Sooo much to get to on this week's show! We kick off the night with some crazy stories from twitter, including my boss going viral last weekend and the update to 280 characters and how people are going crazy. We also continue our topic of Jesus visiting his disciples after the Resurrection with the "Doubting Thomas" story. In the second segment, I am joined by Matt Martinusen, producer of "The Ultimate Catholic Comic Book." I have read the whole thing and absolutely love it! I had a blast talking to Matt about how the project came to be, dealing with risk, and using new mediums to share the faith. To finish off the show, we do a "Forte Five" countdown on the five weirdest things people do or say in prayer. And then I share about a 2.5 hour conversation I had with a high school student on retreat this weekend and how Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader played a big role in that conversation.
One of the many interesting themes explored in the Star Wars Universe is that of temptation, specifically a Jedi's temptation to the Dark Side of the Force. Join me as I take a closer look at the similarities and differences between the temptation of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and Ben Solo/Kylo Ren.

R2-D2 (phonetically spelled Artoo-Detoo, and called "R2" or "Artoo" for short) is a character in the Star Wars universe. An astromech droid, R2-D2 is a major character throughout all six Star Wars films. Along with his droid companion C-3PO, he joins or supports Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Obi-Wan Kenobi in various points in the saga. Along with Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader), Obi-Wan Kenobi and C-3PO, he is one of only four characters to appear in all six Star Wars films. R2-D2 was designed by John Stears and specially created by Australian firm Petric Engineering and English firm C&L Developments. Both the original props of R2-D2 and C-3PO used in filming are used as audio-animatronics in the queue area of Disneyland's Star Tours ride. An Xbox 360 designed like R2-D2 was released in 2011. This shows his compelling cultural impact, but little is known about his personal life. Here we take a peak.
