In this insightful episode, Roland Torikian recounts his profound journey into Maya medicine, finding his spiritual calling in the heart of Mexico. Delving into the transformative power of community and ceremony, he explores how these ancient practices connect us to both the seen and unseen worlds. Initiated into Maya Medicine under the guidance of Lauro de la Cruz during the tumultuous Zapatista uprising, he shares how immersing himself in the culture felt like a homecoming, as he served the local Mayan community. Central to Maya healing practices are sweat lodges, which symbolise the womb of Mother Earth and serve as spaces for communal healing and transformation. Through the harmonisation of elemental forces and the acknowledgment of the visible and invisible realms, participants are invited to confront and transcend their inner imbalances. Roland emphasises the importance of intention setting and integration after sweat lodge ceremonies, urging participants to release unwanted states and embrace healing qualities. By reflecting on personal needs and contributions to the wider community, individuals can embark on a journey of self-discovery and collective healing. Roland also addresses misconceptions surrounding sweat lodges, highlighting the importance of preparation and caution for individuals with certain medical conditions. Ultimately, the sweat lodge becomes a microcosm of the world, stripping away inauthenticity and fostering humility, as participants reconnect with their bodies and breath, and listen within for guidance and healing. Listeners are left with a profound understanding of the transformative power of Maya medicine, community, and ceremony in restoring balance and wellbeing. --- Maya Medicine, originating from the Mayan civilization over 2,500 years ago, represents an integrated system of natural healing deeply rooted in the understanding of the interconnectedness between humanity and the natural world. Central to this medical system is the harmonization and balance of the five elemental forces: earth, water, fire, wind, and space, as well as the recognition of the relationship between the visible and invisible realms. Roland Torikian's journey as a Maya healer spans nearly three decades, encompassing both Mexico and the UK. His initiation into Maya Medicine occurred under the tutelage of Lauro de la Cruz in the Maya highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. Following his apprenticeship, Roland established a clinic in Dharamshala, North India, while delving into the study of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. In his practice, Roland bridges the worlds of Maya and Tibetan medicine and healing, drawing parallels and connections between these ancient traditions. He emphasizes the utilization of ceremonies, meditation, and shamanic practices derived from the Kagyu lineage and Bon Buddhism. By integrating these modalities, Roland offers a holistic approach to healing that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of individuals. Through his extensive experience and training, Roland embodies a unique perspective that embraces the wisdom of multiple cultural and spiritual traditions. His work not only serves to heal the ailments of the body but also to nourish the soul and facilitate deeper connections to the natural and spiritual worlds. Twenty years ago, Cali White left a corporate career and followed a calling to the healing path. Initially training in psychotherapy, she spent many years immersing herself in the world of psychological and spiritual development and was privileged to find teachers that opened her up to Native American wisdom through Vision Questing, Sweat Lodges, and Shamanic Healing, and then more deeply into rites of passage work through the Women in Power organisation. From November 2018 she undertook a 13 Moon menopause Pilgrimage around the UK and Ireland to deepen into her indigenous ancestry. Guided by the Ancients, she gathered women every full moon to hold ceremony for those persecuted as witches during the Burning Times and to help heal the inherited trauma wounds of separation that we still carry today. This led to the 2022 I AM WITCH exhibition in Lancaster, out of which The Witches' Revival was born, a now annual healing event in Lancaster, UK, designed to support the healing of the feminine through the reclamation of the Witch Archetype. Cali lives in an old Beatrix Potter cottage on a hillside in the Lake District where she continues to learn through tending the land and by following her menopausal impulse to "create"! www.thewitcheshouse.orgwww.loveisourpower.com We talked about:Living with intention Menopause as portal and rebirth Collective wound and collective healing Ancestral healing The feeling of emerging from the trauma veil Medicine spoons – and how a synchronistic discovery led to her next body of work Creativity as healing and the magic that happens when we share our process Creating experiential spaces The feminine way as collaborative The Witches Revival event Archetypes: witch, creatrix, wise woman archetype, The Cailleach, Hekate, Baba Yaga Evolving our relationship with big and small d death Ways of knowing Resources mentionedJoin my newsletter for your free Bonus ClassReclaim Your Creative Magic ecourseALisa StarkweatherWomen in Power My book Creatrix: she who makesStephen Jenkinson - Orphan WisdomSharon Blackie – If Women Rose Rooted, HagitudeOutside the Box – Liz RothschildKicking the Bucket Follow Creative Magic on Instagram: @CreativeMagicPodcastYour host Lucy H. This episode, we invite you to let it all hang out. Frank and Jenny visit the Finnish Church in London to take a pew in the basement sauna that brings everyone together, not just the congregation. There, rector Marjaana Härkönen talks about the connection between spirit and the sauna – ‘löyly' – and what to drink while you're busy connecting. Now look, we know people banging on about saunas can be as annoying as people banging on about ice baths (hey – we've got an episode on that, too!), but when integrative wellness professor Marc Cohen told us the full gamut of what these sweat boxes can do for our meat vessels, we were genuinely surprised.Always one to look at the worst-case scenario, Jenny recounts the grizzly deaths that occurred at the 2010 World Sauna Championships, and in sweat lodges such as that of one-time Oprah mascot James Arthur Ray. But surely she can see the logic in preparing for the worst (her favourite thing to do) by engaging in hormesis – the act of adapting to stress, such as extreme heat, and thus better preparing for future stresses. Frank's a lucky fella. He works at Peninsula Hot Springs, so he gets to have a sneaky sauna and ice bath combo every day. To make it up to Jenny, he's built a grand stone and wood sauna at her place, together with an ice bath in a converted chest freezer.PS: If you liked this episode, you'll love our sixth episode, Taking the Plunge: Cold Water Immersion.LINKSWellness professor, Dr Marc Cohen Finnish Church in LondonLeave us a voice message for a future episode on SpeakpipeSpirit Levels on InstagramOur newsletter Hosted on Acast. Next Level Soul with Alex Ferrari: A Spirituality & Personal Growth Podcast
Rahelio Rodriguez has been in Sedona over the past 28 years arriving on the summer solstice of 1987. It was a very exciting time to be in Sedona, especially because of the Harmonic Convergence gatherings as related to the prophecies from the Toltec lord Quetzalcoatl for August of that year. By 1988 he began working as a Sacred Earth vortex tour guide and eventually started his own company in 1990, Sedona Nature Excursions, with his specialty Mystic Tours. During the 1990's he worked with many people very eager to experience the energy of the Sedona red rock country and its famous vortex energies. And this gave him the opportunity to develop his own unique way of teaching and sharing shamanic wisdom and healing methods while out in the beauty of the sacred landscape of Sedona.Rohelio's approach combines wisdom teachings from eastern Yogic traditions, Taoist wisdom, Christian mysticism, and Native American shamanism. He was especially drawn to the teachings of Toltec wisdom that has come out of Mexico and to the practice of Kriya yoga through Babaji's lineage. Since he was already very deep into the practice of western astrology, he was able to merge this perspective into the teachings of the Medicine Wheel as taught to him by Sun Bear. Regarding his Indian ancestry, it comes from Mexico; although he was born in the Midwest of the United States, where he grew up, Rahelio recognizes himself as an American-born Toltec. His awakening to the shamanic path was preceded by a number of mystical experiences he had at the beginning of his teenage years that jolted his reality. And these experiences continued throughout my life, where he had profound encounters with Spirit Powers and intelligence from alternate realities. At the age of 21, he was telepathically contacted by his ascended Master teacher, that began his conscious journey onto the spiritual path. Back in the late 70s, when he attended the College of Marin in northern California, Rahelio was involved as head of a Native American student organization that worked for public awareness of the issues of Native American political rights, land disputes, etc. At that time, this opened his eyes to the struggles of indigenous peoples throughout the Americas and the world. Later while living in Maui, Hawaii, Rahelio pursued spiritual and metaphysical studies and had experiences that facilitated his becoming a professional astrologer and mystic. Since he was working as a spiritual guide, astrologer, and healer, Rahelio was invited to be ordained as a minister into the Order of Melchizedek on Bell Rock in 1988 by the Reverend Dan Chesbro. And since 2012, he has been a legal member and medicine person of the Oklevueha Native American Church, as well as the head of my own Native American church ‘Toltec Sun Ministries.' he conducts Native American style weddings, Sweat Lodges and blessing ceremonies, as well as, share shamanic teachings and energetic practices including Medicine Wheel empowerments with sacred drum, flute, songs, and chants. Please enjoy my conversation with Rahelio Rodriguez.

Pseudo spiritual, humanity's need to raise others above us. Masters, Shaman, etc, why do we feel the need to make others special, or put them above us? Why do we need to brand ourselves as a follower or follow others who we think are special, or superior? The truth is we are all special and have unique gifts. U G Krishnamurti, the Indian teacher said, "Don't follow me, I'm lost."
Matt is a multimedia artist, musician, inventor and sculptor. He was a founding member of the dark ambient band Lab Report that included such diverse musicians as Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Lydia Lunch and Chris Connelly. Schultz also invented the A.T.G. or Anti Tank Guitar and utilized this instrument with the Lab Report and Pigface. In total, Schultz has appeared on over 29 cds with 9 solo productions and 2 feature film soundtracks (Ivan's XTC and Snuffmovie) for Hollywood director Bernard Rose. In 2010, Schultz manifested the esoteric and ancient fraternal order of The Division which reconstructed ancient spells and rituals reinterpreted aurally. Mantras is the first in a trilogy of discs that express all aspects of The Division. Matt's latest release is Mandalas. This album contains binaurual beats and tones to aid in meditation and dream states. Matt has also spent time in Peru working at an Ayahuasca healing center as a facilitator. He has worked extensively with Lakota and Mayan Elders for over 15 years and is a water pourer for sweat lodges. He continues to be involved in indigenous medicine ceremonies of many varieties. In this episode, we discuss: Throbbing Gristle, The Ministry, Pink Floyd's The Wall, Germany in the early to middle 20th Century, the structures of Belief Systems, The Occult, Ritualistic Magic, The Jester Archetype, Psychedelics as spiritual bypassing, Psychedelics as subversive agents, why all lawyer gringos should not take Ayahuasca unless they learn to ride a horse, MK Ultra, New Age Hippies channeling all that white light and nothing else, shadow work, we are not kidding, shadow work, listen to Lab Report if you dare, our mutual admiration of Roni Mohan, why gringos should not go to Peru, Brujos, All the plants that go into Ayahuasca that you do not want to know about, Sweat Lodges, Meditation, Kirtan, and much much more. It has been said that praying is talking to the universe, and meditation is listening to it. My friend and brother-in-law, Zachary, comes on the show to talk about all things meditation, which goes hand-in-hand with our discussion of spirituality. He also describes his practice of Native American sweat lodge ceremonies. Sweat lodge ceremonies are a healing ritual for full body, mind, and spirit purification. On the twelfth episode of the Help Find The Others podcast we have our friend Rich on to talk about his experience with sweat lodges, psychedelics, and everything in-between. He also shares an inspirational story in which he broke his back and was left motionless for months where he used that time to re-program himself and his perspective. He made the most out of a terrible situation and hearing his story about it all is amazingly motivational. Definitely something special. . Come listen June 26th as I interview my dear friend, the shaman, Reiki Master, and medium (a la John Edwards of "Crossing Over") MarVeena Meek, as we talk about the mediumistic work that she does. Hear about my first experience with her, about 12 years ago, in her "spirit circle" in which I participated. It was pretty wild... Then listen as MarVeena discusses experiences she has had with mediumship over the years, and explains how she became a medium at the age of 21. MarVeena now lives with her husband on a horse ranch in Forney, Texas, which is near Dallas, where they breed thoroughbred horses. MarVeena is a real cowgirl, a highly accomplished "trick roper," and has also done competitive martial arts, winning high awards. You will love listening to MarVeena's voice, it is simply spellbinding. Here is her website: http://www.marveena.com. Check it out and be sure and sign up for her E-Zine!
