On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation to discuss some of the biggest dilemmas that Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills will be facing coming up soon this offseason. Beane and his staff have difficult decisions to make every offseason and this one will certainly be no different. Among the topics Patrick and Matt go over is if Buffalo will keep, restructure and cut Matt Milano and/or Von Miller and it comes clear you can make a case to keep one, both or none. Extensions could also play a huge role in the shape of this offseason. Greg Rousseau, James Cook, Khalil Shakir, Terrell Bernard and Christian Benford among others are all slated to go into the final years of their respective contracts. How many should be extended if possible and what should the pecking order be? Patrick admits to having some reservations about a few players based on how the postseason played out. The guys also chat about what they think should happen with the starting cornerback spot alongside Benford, feelings about Cole Bishop becoming a starter next year and a confidence in level in Keon Coleman taking a big step in his second year. They also have thoughts on a potential Garrett Myles trade, the Super Bowl on Sunday, a potential league rule change and much more. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran shares all of his biggest takeaways after watching back the game film of the Buffalo Bills heartbreaking 32-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game, failing to beat Kansas City in the playoffs for the fourth time in five years. There's simply no getting around it---the Bills losing a game they lead going into the fourth quarter is a bitter pill to have to swallow. To quote The Rolling Stones, "You can't always get what you want" and Patrick spends time at the beginning talking about how much this game meant to Bills fans all over the world, including a story of his son getting formally introduced to the cult of tortured Buffalo sports fans with this latest crushing loss. How did it happen? Well, Patrick has plenty of thoughts on several keys factors, beginning with his opinions that the Chiefs coached circles around the Bills staff---pointing out several specific examples. At the end of the day however, players gotta go and play and Patrick discusses several of them that picked the most inopportune time possible to have horrible games, including Dalton Kincaid, Greg Rousseau, Terrell Bernard and Damar Hamlin. Of course, it wouldn't be a close Chiefs game without some BS official decisions going their way and Patrick hits on a few of them, stating that while it's not the reason the Bills lost it's fair to say they directly swung the momentum of the game. That plus a few standouts on film, early feelings on putting the season in perspective and tons more. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran's going over his biggest Buffalo Bills Week 11 takeaways following Buffalo's takedown over previously unbeaten Kansas City to go into their bye with a 9-2 record for the first time in 32 years. It was an entertaining back and forth game that came down to a few plays, as is always the case when these teams collide. Patrick devotes time to giving Bills head coach Sean McDermott a lot of credit. The Bills were supposed to be a team in transition this season following the exodus of many core players. That coupled with the injuries they've dealt with already makes their 9-2 start all the more remarkable. Plenty of that comes from McDermott's system and having this team ready to play nearly every week. Sean's decision to go for it on a critical fourth down play late in the game may have felt obvious given the circumstance but it's not a choice Sean might've made in the past. He's grown along with a lot of the players on this team. Of course, players make the plays and none are doing it better than Josh Allen this season. Patrick has commentary on why Sunday showed him Josh is the league's MVP through 11 weeks. He also talks about Amari Cooper coming up huge, every team in the league needing a Khalil Shakir, O'Cyrus Torrence being an unsung hero for his work against Chris Jones, Ed Oliver being a menace, Terrell Bernard making big plays, depth yet again shining for Buffalo and much more. What a great way to go into the bye week, Buffalo! ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over several of his biggest Buffalo Bills takeaways after watching the film and sifting through the PFF grades from the Bills Week seven 34-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans in Orchard Park on Sunday. When you win a game by 24 points it sounds like a drubbing and in many ways it was, but that doesn't mean it was a completely dominant performance by Buffalo. Patrick has some takes on why the Bills came out and started slowly yet again on Sunday, a pattern that's happened way too many times already this season. He also discusses that why he thinks Tennessee came into Orchard Park with a very smart game plan on both sides of the ball, head coach Brian Callahan blew it and quite possibly the game with one boneheaded decision early in the third quarter that without question changed the complexion of the game. Fortunately for Buffalo things turned around and Patrick has thoughts on several of the reasons why, from the obvious lift new wide receiver Amari Cooper gave them in making two difficult catches besides his touchdown, to the emergence of Keon Coleman, who's now threatening to become a breakout star in the league as a rookie. Defensively the Bills were led by Greg Rousseau, who had his best game since the opener and Terrell Bernard, who was all over the place but did get hurt twice, including an injured ankle that forced him to miss the rest of the game. Patrick has thoughts on how much stock you should put into sounding beating the Titans at home, the AFC east race stunningly feeling like it's all-but-over after just seven weeks, was the Cooper touchdown a turning play for the Bills offensively going forward in the season and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. As the Bills prepare to take on former Buffalo great Stefon Diggs, JJ and Dan breakdown the matchups at the center of this matchup of AFC contenders. Show Note: This pod was recorded before the injury status of Ed Oliver, Austin Johnson, Terrell Bernard and Taron Johnson was released on Thursday.
It's another edition of The Podbag today on Talking Buffalo, the episode where the audience controls the narrative and topics. Patrick Moran's responding to several takes and questions, including James Cook looking like he's taking another step towards truly becoming a star player for the Buffalo Bills through their first two games. The statistics don't blow you away even with his three touchdown performance in Miami, but Cook's running style and ability (so far) to be a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield if giving off some serious Le'Veon Bell vibes. Bell was once widely regarded as the best running back in football from 2014-17 with his distinct running style and all-around ability. Patrick talks about what's looked different this year than last from Cook, even with Cook having an impressive statistical 2023 campaign. Patrick also responds to questions about takes regarding where the Bills look to be stacking up right now compared to the rest of the league based on a small sample size, what his confidence level is in Braylon Spector replacing Terrell Bernard for the time being, how he's feeling going into the Week three matchup against Jacksonville and being unafraid to admit when he's dead wrong about predictions. There's also a few Sabres topics revolving around training camp opening this week, including being asked what he thinks the chances are Sabres first-round draft pick Konstas Helenius makes the team out of camp in addition the effect he expects Lindy Ruff to have on the team and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens with instant reactions just minutes following the Buffalo Bills taking the Miami Dolphins to the woodshed in their own stadium, 31-10 Thursday night at Hard Rock Stadium. Even with Terrell Bernard lost to a potential major injury earlier to add to the already walking wounded defense, Bobby Babich's defense absolutely dominated Miami and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who tossed three interceptions including a pick six to Ja'Marcus Ingram before leaving the game with a concussion after being hit by Damar Hamlin late in the third quarter. The guys happily eat some crow, talk about the Buffalo dominant defense and how the offense didn't even really matter. Also, is Miami fraudulent and in particular their head coach, Mike McDaniel. That and plenty more as Buffalo goes on the road to smack a division rival and move to 2-0 on the season. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of "The Bruce Exclusive", Bruce continues his attempt to unbury himself from the mass of listener questions on topics from around the NFL and the Buffalo Bills. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined in studio by Tone Pucks to discuss why Tone thinks offseason QB debates are the absolute worst in addition to some non-Josh Allen factors that should excite Buffalo Bills fans going into this season. Many people, especially outside of Buffalo think the Bills season is sink or swim purely on how Josh Allen plays. While that's certainly true to some extent (as it is with any team featuring a franchise quarterback) there's a list of things that should have fans optimistic about the season. In fact, Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) tweeted out a list and both Patrick and Tone comb through it and discuss which talking points they believe and a few they don't. This brings guys like Taron Johnson, Terrell Bernard, Ed Oliver and Dalton Kincaid into the discussion as well as Aaron saying he thinks this year's Bills roster is as good as any during the Allen era. Is it? Also, Tone has a lot of thoughts on what the Sabres have done this offseason and where things stand with the organization from his perspective. That plus Tone completely hates offseason QB debates and comparisons, some baseball talk gets jammed in and plenty more. ♦♦♦♦♦ If you're looking into setting up a golf practice/enjoyment station in your home, basement, garage or backyard — SimTurf is your golf oasis, featuring premium synthetic turf. It's the weekly Podbag on today's Talking Buffalo, the episode where fans control the topics with their takes and questions for Patrick Moran to reply too, focused (as usual) heavily on the Buffalo Bills. One question in particular that got Patrick thinking was a question asking who's going to be the Bills player that has one of those "wow" seasons you didn't see coming, referencing Terrell Bernard as that guy last year. Patrick's forced to think long and hard before ultimately coming up with another guy on the defensive side of the ball who may not be that young but definitely still may be ascending and with opportunity is capable of having a monster year. Also, the Bills signed wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling, which immediately garnered a ton of questions and takes and Patrick has plenty of thoughts on the addition and it becomes pretty evident right away that he's a fan of signing, citing a handful of clutch performances in the postseason and his speed to be a deep threat as things this Bills offense is in need of. Patrick also responds to even more Stefon Diggs takes, a fan convinced Buffalo will never beat Kansas City. a fan term Patrick hates, wondering if a free agent veteran may still ultimately return and plenty more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran reacts to the second day of NFL free agency, highlighted for the Buffalo Bills by re-signing star defensive end DaQuan Jones to a two-year deal and their first outside addition. Monday overnight into Tuesday morning saw the Bills bring back the 32-year old Jones on a two-year deal that reportedly comes in around $16 million. Patrick has plenty thoughts on the re-signing and considering he's been saying on this show for weeks that bringing back Jones was his single-biggest priority if it were up to him, they're as positive as expected. A healthy Jones even at his age is big boost to the defense because not only can he still play at a high level, but he elevates other guys around him like Ed Oliver and Terrell Bernard. Patrick also has a collection of thoughts on the Bills also bringing back defensive end AJ Epenesa and safety Cam Lewis, both returning to significant depth roles and in the case of Lewis, could even get a crack at taking over for Micah Hyde, pending on how the rest of the offseason plays out. The Bills did dip into the free agent market outside of the team, inking Philadelphia linebacker Nicholas Morrow to a one-year deal. Patrick shares what he's learned about him so far, making it easy to assumption he's a depth replacement for Tyrel Dodson. Also, Jordan Poyer signed with Miami on Tuesday and that's sure to cause some hard feelings. That plus the Sabres are still alive--maybe even very much alive and more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, the second of a two-part series, Patrick Moran examines the state of the Buffalo Bills with this one being the "happy version", a good vibes only list of things about the team to excite fans as they start move onward towards the 2024 season. Unlike the doom and gloom of yesterday's episode, today the focus is on good things and that starts with the franchise quarterback. Patrick talks about how despite a midseason offensive coordinator change and declining production from his top wideout, Josh Allen continued to play at a level very few quarterbacks in the NFL are capable of playing at. In fact, Josh was quite realistically two more Bills team wins/non choke jobs away from likely winning the 2023 NFL MVP that instead went to Lamar Jackson. Part of Allen's and the offensive turnaround in general during the back half of the season is attributed to extremely promising play from rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid, wide receiver Khalil Shakir and running back James Cook. Patrick discusses their importance and what a luxury it is to have all three for multiple years under contract at ridiculously affordable rates (less than a $6 million 2024 cap hit from all three combined). Among other topics discussed is the borderline stunning development of Terrell Bernard nearly instantly becoming a star middle linebacker, the best offensive line of the Brandon Beane/Sean McDermott regime, McDermott becoming far more aggressive as the season wore on and excitement about the Bills having two rising young coordinators in Joe Brady and Bobby Babich. That and plenty more--no pissing in your Cheerios today, Bills fans! ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, it's "Fan Friday" and Patrick Moran reads off several comments and questions from fans with takes on those topics of his own, including a handful focused on the Buffalo Bills getting unlucky the past few seasons with injuries and the recent devaluing of earning the two seed in the AFC. Several fans are quick to point out how hard the Bills have been hit with injuries over the past two seasons, to the point it nearly feels unfair---- Von Miller tearing his ACL in 2022 and DaQuan Jones missing the Bills elimination loss to the Bengals and this year with Matt Milano and Tre White's season-enders not to mention Terrell Bernard missing the Kansas City game a few weeks in addition to other important pieces. Patrick agrees about the injury bug decimating the Bills but using that as a primary excuse feels empty when considering they faced a Pittsburgh team in the wild card this year without TJ Watt, a Chiefs team that had some key injuries of their own, a third-string quarterback for Miami in last year's wild card and a Bengals team that was missing three starting offensive lineman and a defensive back last year. Also included is this episode is continued fallout from Tyler Dunne's in studio recent appearance on this show, favorite former Buffalo Bills players, the toughest person Patrick's had to interview on this show, Nine Eleven Tavern talk, an outstandingly optimistic portrait of the Bills from a fan and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On today's Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Tone Pucks for a second consecutive day, this time to hand out some hardware during our Buffalo Bills 2023 season awards episode. There's not really much to debate when it comes to obvious selections like Team MVP (Josh Allen) and Rookie of the Year (Dalton Kincaid) but the disagreements start with Defensive MVP, having Pucks take the linebacker (Terrell Bernard) who became a revelation in his first year as a starter while Patrick gave the nod to Ed Oliver despite his faceplant against Kansas City in the playoffs---something Pucks doesn't agree with either and explains why. They also some banter among other awards, including best and worst individual performances, best and worst games of the season, best and worst offseason additions and their single-favorite thing about the 2023 season now that it's over. That plus Tone Pucks continues to get angry about the Buffalo Sabres even though they're not really a topic of discussion today and much more. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Tone Pucks to discuss several topics, including why they think Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott got it right by removing the interim tag with offensive coordinator Joe Brady and promoting linebackers coach Bobby Babich to defensive coordinator. Babich has been with Sean McDermott throughout his tenure in Buffalo, starting out with the safeties before coaching the linebackers over the past two years. He's credited by players for helping transform Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde and Matt Milano into All-Pro players at their respective positions, not to mention the development of Terrell Bernard over this past season. Of course, the Bills offense improved significantly when Brady took over Ken Dorsey following Buffalo's loss at Denver, becoming much more effective at running the football in the process---porn music to Sean's ears. The guys talk about why they think staying with these guys to coordinate the offense and defense is absolutely the right call, with Patrick going as far to say he's heard from a player to not be surprised if Babich is a NFL head coach within two years. They also talk about where their level of annoyance is currently at following the season ending at the hands of Kansas City, how much blame should Ed Oliver and Stefon Diggs be getting, how locked in Tone Pucks plans on being for this Bills offseason and plenty more. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has a series of Buffalo Bills season-endings on the heels of their three point loss on Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC divisional round. Unlike yesterday's show where Patrick was reacting in real time just minutes after the conclusion of the game, this time his thoughts are a bit more measured and calculated and after having the (dreadful) opportunity to watch the game tape back. In the moments that followed Sunday's loss Patrick said he had very little problem with the way Sean McDermott coached the game. That's changed after reviewing the tape, and Patrick points out the big issue he has with McDermott choosing to start and stick with unathletic middle linebacker AJ Klein as the injury replacement for Terrell Bernard instead of the mistake prone but far more athletic rookie Dorian Williams. Klein's lack of speed and overall athleticism stunted the Buffalo defense on several occasions, none so more than when he was forced to cover Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Patrick also points out McDermott not being aggressive enough with blitzing, even if it's the human blitz beater Patrick Mahomes back there when it became apparent the Bills couldn't get to him with four. Patrick also doubles down on the absolute woeful play of the Bills defensive line and in particular, the disappearing act of Ed Oliver for a second straight season in a Bills elimination loss. The film also shows what Patrick suggested immediately after the game---that Von Miller was actually Buffalo's most effective defensive lineman. He also spends some time talking about how in some odd way the season ending is actually a relief to him. That plus Josh Allen, a crazy offseason ahead, content plans for this show, wrath coming for the Buffalo Sabres and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Tone Pucks to react just minutes after the Buffalo Bills eliminated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-17 in their AFC wild card playoff game. The Bills offense, led of course by Josh Allen was up to task against Pittsburgh, not letting the cold weather become any factor. Josh Allen threw for 203 yards and ran for 72 more, including a career-best 52 yard touchdown scamper to get the Bills out in front by three touchdowns. The guys go over a balanced offense that was (mostly) firing on all cylinders and got everyone everyone involved. Unfortunately the win came with a price, as several Bills defenders went down with injuries including Terrell Bernard, Taron Johnson and Christian Benford. Patrick and Tone talk about the injuries and how it's going to effect this defense as the Bills head to the second round to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Orchard Park. Speaking of, Tone can't help himself but jump right into some Bills vs Chiefs talk. It's going to be an exciting week for the Bills, their fans and this podcast as well. That plus perhaps a few minutes of Buffalo Sabres talk and more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On today's Talking Buffalo, the Bills vs Dolphins rivalry adds as huge chapter this week with their regular season finale matchup being for the division and two seed in the playoffs, with the Bills potentially missing the playoffs all together with a loss. Tone Pucks joins to discuss it all. The Bills didn't get a lot of scoreboard help around the league this past Sunday but got what they needed most---Baltimore beating Miami (soundly) to give Buffalo the opportunity to plan not just for the AFC east division this coming Sunday night in Miami, but also for the No. 2 seed. So, the Bills could host potential multiple playoff games or conversely be out of the postseason entirely if they lose and either Jacksonville (vs Tennessee) or Pittsburgh (vs Baltimore) win this weekend. The guys give their thoughts on Buffalo's much closer than it felt like it needed to be victory over the New England Patriots on New Year's Eve. They discuss a Bills offense that's flailing again and Josh Allen being extremely hot or cold all season. They also discuss Von Miller being a healthy inactive for the first time in his career, Terrell Bernard having a wonderful first season as the starting middle linebacker and the unbelievably good play Rasul Douglas has provided since Brandon Beane traded for him. They also take a peak at Miami, who's suddenly getting decimated with injuries. The Bills would have no excuse anyway and even more so as it seems they're playing the Dolphins at the most opportune time. They also essentially refuse to discuss how the Sabres simply can't get any sustaining momentum going, Tone's insistence of talking about a college football game throughout the recording and much more. The episode concludes with a preview of the Bills' upcoming game against the Denver Broncos, with insights on the matchup and picks against the spread.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Anthony Marino from Buffalo Rumblings to focus on a handful of Buffalo Bills players who have been playing excellent so far this season but aren't really getting a lot of attention on a national level. The guys discuss among others Taron Johnson, Leonard Floyd, AJ Epenesa and Terrell Bernard as four standouts that aren't talked about much if at all beyond the Buffalo telescope. Anthony also has a few guys of his own to throw on the list. Before getting going on the Bills talk with Anthony, Patrick spends a few minutes talking about the Sabres first win of the season Tuesday night, an important one against Tampa Bay. That plus the guys play their "Finish the Sentence" segment and much more. Be sure to follow Anthony on Twitter @AnthMarino and check out Buffalo Rumblings, featuring written and podcast/vidcast content pretty much daily. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his weekly thoughts and observations on the Buffalo Bills after watching the coaches All-22 film of their straight up lucky victory over the New York Giants last Sunday night in addition to analyzing some of the Pro Football Focus stats and grades given from the game. Patrick's got a few big takeaways following the re-watch of the game, including skepticism on the job Ken Dorsey's doing as offensive coordinator over the past few games, Von Miller getting closer to being ramped back up and Brandon Beane needing to look into bolstering the defensive tackle position before the trade deadline. He also hits on why he thinks Latavius Murray's basically become James Cook's equal in running back snaps, Dawson Knox continuing to struggle, Terrell Bernard keeping up a high level of play and Stefon Diggs pacing to obliterate all his receiving records. That and plenty more Bills notes, grades and thoughts. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective to discuss the Sabres opening their 2023-24 regular season with a one-sided loss to the New York Rangers in front of their home Buffalo crowd. The Sabres were outworked and seemingly every time they made a mistake the puck wound up in their net. The guys talk about opening night jitters for Buffalo, New York's effective 1-3-1 defense and ability to block numerous power play chances. Also, thoughts on who had their best and worst Sabres debuts. The guys also talk plenty of Buffalo Bills and things they're looking to find out going forward now that Matt Milano and DaQuan Jones join Tre White as very likely done for the season with injuries. Those topics include who'll emerge next to Terrell Bernard at linebacker, can Kaiir Elam take advantage if he even gets any chance, will the tight ends ever get it going before its too late and can the Bills finally get some injury luck on their side. You can follow PK on Twitter @PK_BSC and check out the Buffalo Sports Collective podcast. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his weekly solo show consisting of several thoughts and observations on the Bills after watching the coaches All-22 film of their potentially season derailing loss in London to Jacksonville over Miami in Orchard Park Sunday in addition to studying the Pro Football Focus premium stats and grades assigned from the Week five game. Biggest takeaways from the game come down to coaches not having this team ready to play early, an offensive line that Patrick may have overrated last week and of course the season-altering injuries to Matt Milano and DaQuan Jones. Patrick also has thoughts on Dawson Knox's abysmal performance, Von Miller being a total non-factor in his return and some praise for linebacker Terrell Bernard. That plus Bills getting really testy with Patrick on social media over a few of his takes and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes solo and has a ton of opinions and observations after studying the coaches All-22 film from the Buffalo Bills dismantling of Washington on the road in addition to analyzing several of the Pro Football Focus premium stats and grades assigned from the game. As has been the story this season, Buffalo's defense has been the consistent rock of the team. Patrick has thoughts on a dominant defensive line, Terrell Bernard making impact plays and great outings for veterans Micah Hyde and Tre White. Offensively, Patrick has a hard time understand how PFF's grades for the offensive line weren't more favorable. That aside, it was great outings for both Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, not to mention James Cook, who's relatively quietly becoming one of the league's better running backs. That plus a look at Miami and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. Matt Parrino of The Syracuse Post-Standard joins Danger and Battaglia in The Sports Bar to discuss the growth and performance of linebacker Terrell Bernard, why it may make sense to make Kaiir Elam active on Sunday, and how the Bills offense should continue to have its way against Miami's defense on Sunday. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Tone Pucks for his weekly visit to discuss the Buffalo Bills going to Washington and annihilating the Commanders in addition to some Buffalo Sabres talk. It's no exaggeration to say the Bills defense brutalized Sam Howell and the Washington offense, to the tune of nine sacks, four interceptions and a fumble recovery. The guys talk about how Buffalo was able to so easily dominate, led by Terrell Bernard, who in just a few weeks has went from suspect starter to very likely the reigning AFC Defensive Player of the Week. The offense wasn't too shabby either, with Josh Allen leading the Bills offense to three touchdowns and avoiding costly mistakes other than a meaningless interception. Patrick and Tone talk about his game, the offensive line looking great for a second straight week and Stefon Diggs continuing to play like one of the game's best receivers. Even in a blowout win there's a couple of things to be concerned about. The guys hit on that in addition to the Sabres opening the preseason, some strong feelings Patrick Kane potentially coming to Buffalo and much more. Football is officially back. The Buffalo Bills kicked off their 2022 training camp at St. John Fisher University on Sunday, (un)officially commencing a 2022 NFL season that figures to be a successful one for the team. Though we're through just two days of practice sessions, storylines are already starting to emerge from the suburbs of Rochester. A number of talking points originate from the slot, as wide receivers Isaiah McKenzie and Khalil Shakir have shined throughout the first two practices. Second-round pick James Cook, a running back who was selected primarily due to his ability as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, has also made an immediate impact in the passing game, with both he and undrafted rookie Raheem Blackshear already sticking out. Defensively, it's been rookie linebacker Terrell Bernard who has stolen the majority of the headlines, with superstar pass-rusher Von Miller further making his presence known on day two of camp. Though the team is (expectedly) experiencing growing pains, the foundation for a Super Bowl contender is there. On this episode of the Cover 1 Roundup, hosts David Faux and Kyle Silagyi discuss their reactions to and takeaways from Buffalo's first two practice sessions. Locked On Baylor - Daily Podcast On Baylor Bears Football & Basketball
Baylor football has a lot of question marks in multiple positions next season. Dave Aranda must develop a new wide receiver group, running back squad, secondary and even work with the linebacking corps. Sure, there is talent on the roster, but can that talent replace Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Pitre, Terrell Bernard, Trestan Ebner, JT Woods and the like? There is no guarantee that will be the case. Big Game Boomer, or John Whitaker, joins the show to give his thoughts on Baylor. How about this new shakeup in the NCAA? The governing body has elected to allow conferences to do away with their title games and dictate how they control their teams from a scheduling standpoint. Divisions will now become obsolete, conference title games will likely be no more and the birth of the pod system is almost upon us. Big Game Boomer kicks around some ideas about pods and how the entire scope of college football will be changed. Lastly, meet John Whitaker. Sure, you know him as the wild and crazy Big Game Boomer guy on Twitter who hates Baylor. However, there are few analysts in the college game who have been more successful or consistent with seeing content skyrocket. There is no coincidence there.
