It would appear Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 developer Games Workshop is both highly-profitable and nice to its employees? We discuss. Newswhile, Sony is struggling to get its fledgling live-service forays to come to fruition with Marathon's marketing allegedly canceled alongside art theft fiasco, and Jade Raymond abandons ship at Fairgames. In other news, revisionism in the Stalker ports, Anatine is a dope new indie where you play as a duck, Atomfall is doing fantastically well, and Elden Ring Nightreign is upon us. Please do enjoy.

In today's Daily Fix:Embracer, the mega conglomerate that owns the Tolkien license and publishes a slew of games from Factorio to Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, has provided a financial update on their recent games. And it's not good. The Epic Mickey remake sales were "slower than expected." Return to Moria, a Lord of the Rings survival crafting game, did well on PC, and was released on PS5 this year to decent sales, but it wasn't enough to stop the company from selling off Borderlands dev Gearbox Software, or Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 dev Saber Interactive. In other news, Infinity Nikki, an open-world dress up game, has a release date of December 5th. The game comes from former Zelda director Kentaro Tominaga. And speaking of release dates, Atomfall, the "British Fallout," will hit PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC on March 27, 2025. It's also a day one game for Game Pass.

After a week off to play Dale & Dawson Stationery Supplies together (seriously, check it out), we return to the podcast studio to talk about the latest and greatest in the gaming industry. First up, Sony debuted a new State of Play presentation which, among other things, revealed Ghost of Yotei to the world (the long awaited sequel to Ghost of Tsushima). After a few minor technical hiccups, we get back on track with impressions of UFO 50; an impressive collection of (50) games designed and built around the specs for a imaginary piece of retro gaming hardware! Krispy and Nick gush over Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and Chris Davis finally got his hands on Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered! Of course, Warhammer also has Krispy spiraling towards an inevitable (and expensive) future in the tabletop space. In this episode, Frank and Squeaks cover an exciting lineup of fandom news and reviews. They start by sharing their latest geeky purchases, including a mystery dice set, and then dive into Netflix Geeked Week highlights, including Arcane Season 2 and the new Avatar live-action series. Frank gives a passionate review of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and finishes with their impressions of HBO's The Penguin series, which both hosts rate highly. Timestamps and Topics: 00:00 - Introduction: Geeky Purchases and Mystery Dice Set 03:05 - Netflix Geeked Week 14:45 - Review: Agatha All Along – Kathryn Hahn's Masterclass in Villainy 25:31 - The Penguin HBO Review: A Gritty Gotham Tale with Colin Farrell 41:26 - Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Review: The Full Gaming Package Key Takeaways: Arcane Season 2 will release in three parts starting November 9, continuing its epic storytelling and stunning animation. The casting of Toph in the live-action Avatar sparked discussions, with hopes that the actress captures the essence of the beloved character. The Devil May Cry anime brings back Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante, thrilling long-time fans of the series. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is praised for its complete package, including both PvE and PvP modes, with deep character customization. HBO's The Penguin stands out as a gritty crime drama within the superhero genre, with strong performances, particularly from Colin Farrell. Memorable Quotes: "Agatha is still a villain, and it's refreshing to see her stay true to that. Not every character has to become an antihero." — Frank "Colin Farrell as Penguin—he just disappears into the role. It's like I'm watching a gangster flick, not a superhero show." — Squeaks "In Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, it feels like you're painting your own Warhammer character as you customize every detail." — Frank Call to Action: If you enjoyed this episode, don't forget to subscribe and leave us a review! Hello hello dear listener, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode Josh and Colin sit down to talk about what games they've been playing for the past few weeks, and let me tell you it's been quite productive for them both. As with most of the PlayStation community, much of the last two week period has been dominated by the release of Astro Bot, from Team Asobi. First revealed in late Spring of 2024 and releasing on September 9th worldwide, Astro Bot serves as a celebration of the past, present, and future of PlayStation. With delightful level design, rock solid platforming, and a slew of easter eggs and references, it's easy to see how Astro Bot has captured the hearts and imaginations of gamers in the PlayStation eco system. But how was it from a trophy hunting perspective? Well, in short, pretty damn awesome. Josh and Colin spend a good deal of time discussing this potential GoTY candidate and the experience of earning the Platinum. From there the two move on to talk about another surprise game this year in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. While neither Josh or Colin know too much about the 40K universe, that doesn't really matter. Space Marine 2 is an example of the way games used to be made, with a campaign, PvE, and PvP modes on launch that all function and respect your time. The game is a blast, and well worth your consideration! Other topics in the show of course include Patreon submitted questions where we talk about our favorite traversal mechanics, a dead IP we'd like brought back, and a game mechanic we wish wasn't a thing in games. Additionally, we give a brief update on the TTP Survivor challenge in our Discord, say our favorite single trophy earned over the last two weeks, and shout out the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and Lollipop Chainsaw Repop releases. With Silent Hill 2 remake right around the corner as well, it's a good time to be a horror and horror media fan, that's for sure! Thanks so much for listening, and enjoy! =)
Whip out your tiny paint pots, dip your fine brushes in some water and get ready to very quickly give up on painting these tiny things because oh my god it's so fiddly why does mine look so much worse than every one of these pictures, wait buying more of these would cost how much? Concord was killed by Sony so we didn't do a follow up review. Sorry to those looking forward to it! Maybe it'll come back in the future? That being said, we have a great show for you. First, we review Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2. This game from Saber is a truly brutal, action packed thrill ride. It features a campaign, cooperative missions and full PVP. We share why it's not our game of the year, but a damn good game worth picking up.Brett reviews Star Wars Outlaws. A game not worth picking up. We look at the story, gameplay and why although the game has a lot of good to speak of, they failed with the stealth which is the dominant part of the game. The look and feel is so incredibly Star Wars, but it fails to deliver on some fun combat and exploration. We also review Lockdown Protocol, a game similar to Among Us but in 3D. It's a ton of fun for early access. We can't wait to see what's next for this game! Speaking of reviews, why not throw in a early review of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown? It's not quite ready for primetime, with some bugs and graphical glitches, but there is potential there even if it did convince Brett to go back to The Crew Motorfest. Finally (I told you it was jam packed), we look at the announcement of the PS5 Pro. It's slightly better than the PS5 for a whopping $700. Is it worth the cost of entry? You can follow their Kickstarter here when it goes live or wishlist it on Steam.Show Notes:1:11 - Housekeeping2:29 - Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 Review43:51 - Star Wars Outlaws Review1:17:04 - Lockdown Protocol Review1:32:39 - Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown Early Review1:53:11 - PS5 Pro is Here: Too Much for Too Little?2:15:35 - Upcoming Video Game Releases Become a part of the conversation! "I don't wanna get it out and plug it in and put it on my head and move my coffee table out of the way and all of that other stuff that always stops me from playing VR." "And when they're ready, I'm ready." "So have you not beaten Half-Life Alyx then?" "Valve is working on Half-Life 3? I believe that, absolutely." "What if this turns into like aperture desktop too, right? Like black Mesa desk job." "Half-Life 3 is in the same bucket as Winds of Winter from George RR Martin and Doors of Stone from Patrick Rothfuss."
