This podcast episode is different than any others we've produced for Teach Music Online. One of the most common questions and discussion topics that I've seen in our communities is how to work with students who may have autism. Have you ever had a student on the autism spectrum? Maybe you have and didn't realize it. To help train us in this area I reached out to a TMO member Connie Wible who has more than 30 years of experience working with students who have autism! She shares some of the most incredible ideas and stories in our discussion and I know that you'll be inspired to create more "adaptive" lessons for your students of all learning abilities. Connie and I discuss ways that you can work with students who need a little bit of extra love or adaptive learning during their music lessons. If you've ever been down, discouraged, or overwhelmed with how to help a student with autism then you are going to love learning from Connie's experiences and methods. I can't wait for you to listen! Anybody that has a business. 01:42 – Problem he helps solve: Building business credit and getting funding for your businesses 02:18 – Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Stephen: The limits they tend to get tend to be smaller. As an individual, when you apply for credit, they're going to treat you like an individual. As a business owner, a business can get much larger credit limits, which obviously, the larger the credit limit the better for you because when you need it, it's there. 03:18 – Common mistakes people make when trying to solve that problem: one of the common mistakes I see is your business phone number. When you put an application, most people when I asked them, give me your number for your business, they give me their cell phone. They would always give me their cell phone. And unfortunately, that's an immediate rejection with the bank. Instant. Artificial intelligence will reject you immediately. 04:58 – Stephen's Valuable Free Action(VFA): If you don't have a business phone, let's say you are a digital person, and most people are these days and age, you can use what's called a virtual phone number. 06:34 – Stephen's Valuable Free Resource(VFR): Download Your FREE 4-Step Business Credit Building Guide: https://www.creditsuite.com/ Tweetable Takeaways from this Episode: Info about our correspondent host: Travis has a background in sales, marketing, and strategy, and left the corporate world several years ago to start his own agency. Pamela Wible is a Family Practice physician who has taken on the cause of physician suicide. We discuss the acuity of the problem and the disconnect between public understanding and the reality of the problem. Sadly, Dr Wible is probably correct when she surmises that almost every physician in America knows someone in medicine who killed themselves. The conversation also moves through how the problem can begin to move towards improvement. Key Learnings Why Dr. Wible took on the issue of physician suicide 951 physicians dead by suicide How do non-physicians understand the idea of physician suicide Why physicians are at high risk for suicide The SOAP note approach to the issue of physician suicide as a societal issue Why the issue is so difficult to discuss The impact of “sucking it up” Dealing with tragedy as part of the solution Where physicians go to cry Suicide awareness & prevention as a recruiting & retention tool Reaching out for help Links Dr. Wible's home page “What I've learned from 949 doctor suicides” Do No Harm film site
Jim and I talk about letting your ideas run wild, believing you are part of the process, laying face down on a roller coaster, never being bored, kids eyes light up and meeting with animal lovers, historians, engineers and show people.
Healthcare is dysfunctional. That's a given and (almost) everyone recognizes this. But what's it like on the inside and what does it do to those who work within the system? (And why are so many physicians killing themselves?) Links: Ideal Medical Care Articles by Dr. Wible on KevinMD
